Thursday 8pm 2nd Stage - Groove w/ Rinn workshop. Beginners dance class where I go over fundamentals and simple drills, steps, and grooves.
Thursday 9pm 2nd Stage (right after my other workshop) - Urban Dance workshop. More in-depth/advanced dance workshop. I haven't quite decided completely on the lesson plan for this one, but it will involve more moves, possibly combos and go into specific styles I'm familiar with.
Fri/Sat, dance comp stuff and Fursuit Fest. I will be at the all-nighter rave. If you find me after 3am, I might give you a special bragging rights tag!
Sunday 3pm Main Stage - Dance Battle Royale (DBR). Running BLFC's very first ever dance battle event. It's gonna be AWESOME!

I'll be at every nightly rave. If you don't see me on the floor/stage, I'm back in the headless. Also out and about. I'll be suiting a ton at the con, likely along with my other suiting friends. Hey folks!

I'm planning on running a dance workshop at BLFC this year and it sounds like I'll be able to get a large space to do it in. Additionally, I've been discussing the idea of doing smaller more casual dance things (like Cyphers, or simple practice sessions) on the main floor during downtime.

The main workshop class will be structured roughly beginning with introductions, warm-ups, and then splitting into groups (I'm planning on having at least 1 other instructor) where I will be teaching broad, basic concepts, and the other instructor will be teaching more specific techniques and style.

My question to those of you who might be going is, apart from things like isolations, rhythm and groove, and basic footwork, what would be most beneficial to you in a class like this? What do you want to see? There's plenty of time before the con and I'm open to ideas. Lemme know!

Well we're over the hump. Another decade is on its way to the end! I can't say I'm looking forward to being an old man, but it's not like there's anything I can do to stop it! So I guess I'll just keep on doing what I do. Sometimes I wonder if there will ever come a time when I say "Okay, I'm done with doing this" and I think I'm starting to realize that the answer may not necessarily be up to me. I think it's really up to you. When you're all tired of me, then I'll stop. But as long as there's still at least one person who I can entertain or make them smile, forget all the troubles in the world, and believe that there's still good stuff out there, even if only for a moment, then I'll keep going!

2015 was a big year in terms of exposure for me. I did a lot of youtube videos in the early half of the year, and finally got to take Rinn to the east coast, to the delight of many. It was a ton of fun, and though I basically bankrupted myself for the year, I believe it's better to spend money on experiences, because material things will come and go, but experiences you'll keep with you always.

Year 2015 Hilights:

- Youtube: Although I don't get a TON of views/likes comparatively, I have gotten a lot of direct feedback from people who enjoy the fursuit dance videos and particularly people who are helped by the dance tips. My channel started out slow and ramped up quickly over the year, even as my ability to produce content slowed toward the end of the year. For 2016, I'd like to do tip videos more regularly, perhaps in a Q&A style, engaging with viewers, and continue doing freestyle videos of ~1:00-1:40 in length.

-BLFC: Always a hilight of any year, BLFC was awesome. Even with the crappy weather, you just can't NOT have a good time at this con. The execution of con theme was SO great, and I got to hang with a ton of friends. Oh, yeah, and it was also the con where a World First occurred: First Sergal dancer to win a dance competition (achievement unlocked)!

-AC: My 2nd trip to the Furry Holylands. My first trip to AC was in 2012 and it was there I sat watching the dance comp and decided I needed to be one of those fluffy things busting moves on stage. In this trip, that dream was made reality. I honestly never expected to make the cut at the world's largest furry con, but I did, and as I walked up the steps to take the stage, my whole body was shaking so much I didn't think I could pull off the choreo. But it turned out all right, and though I didn't place, lots of you personally told me how much you loved it, which is all I could ever ask for and more than I deserve!

-RF: The con that was heard 'round the world XD RF may have gotten booted from its Seattle location for this con, but I never saw any of the bad behavior myself. Maybe it was because I was not in the con hotel, maybe it was because the only time I spent in the con was for dance comp, parade, and the raves, but either way, I had a good time. I ramped up my choreo for the dance comp in this one with a focus on clean, musical movements and it paid off with a 2nd place win. Seattle's one of my fav places to visit, and it's not very far away so it really bites that this con can no longer be hosted there.

-Digital Artist?: I decided to take up digital art as a hobby, with a focus on concept art and digital painting methods. I can't honestly say why I decided to do this but I guess the time's just right. My focus is primarily on Vilous (Mick Ono's creation), but I also have a big interest in doing general environment concepts.

What's the plan for 2016?

I think my focus will be evenly spread between dance and digital art. I am still enrolled in the dance studio, I've cut practice to every other day (on gym days) to make time for other things. I miss producing more regular content for people, so I hope I can make at least 1 video per month, ideally of high quality and on-location, but even if it's just a dance short in the kitchen, I'm gonna hold myself to it. I'd also like to get a few more silly photo ideas done to help complete the illusion that I'm just living my life as this sergal all the time XD Right now I'm planning to hit BLFC, maybe RF (what a shame), and MFF for 2016. Is there anything you want to see from me? I want to make sure what I put out there is going in the direction that people will most enjoy. Lemme know if you have the time!

Fursuiting
This was my Sergal fursuit's debut. The reception was fantastic! I really can't express enough thanks to every one who enjoyed seeing it out there. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! It really gives me a lot of joy to see so many who appreciated my work--you can be sure I'll be bringing him around to other cons!

Dancing
This was my first time entering in the RF Dance Competition and my 2nd dance comp overall. I did make it as a finalist and was thrilled to bring my performance to the floor as Rinn (My entry: http://youtu.be/bWUAtvSfix0). As far as I know, no Sergal fullsuiter has ever performed in a dance comp finals, so we may have made history here! SO MANY great dancers, and such a great bunch of furs; I count myself extremely lucky and humbled to find myself among them. Congratulations to Sally, DaiquiriPanda, and TK/JD for placing, and congrats to all the other finalists for putting on a show that packed the house! (seriously, the hotel demanded they close the doors due to fire capacity law).

As always, the nightly raves were killer, and a lot of fun to practice freestlying in suit at. Thanks to everyone who made those nights unforgettable. I live for dancing at furry raves.

What? There's No More?
Nope! I didn't get to any panels because their placement would've made the things I HAD to do impossible. So overall, this con was all about bringing into the world another fantastic (if I do say so, myself) Sergal suit, and showing how he can move! Thanks again for the memories I'll cherish for my lifetime =)

It's Sept. and things are down to the wire.

Rinn is almost done. Maybe 2-3 more days of work. But then I have to get started on his clothing/armor. I'm so sick of glue, you don't even know! I want to just pawn off all the gluing on someone else so I can focus on sewing and starting on the armor patterns.

But whatever, it'll get done. I'm just upset because I haven't done any REAL work on choreo for the RF dance comp other than in my head. I don't want to have to do a bunch of cram sessions at the last minute like BLFC. I'd rather take these 3 weeks to do it, but most of my time is eaten up by finishing up the 'suit itself.

So there's that. Well, at least I'll have a rad new Sergal suit to add to the fandom. Say "hi" if you see me at RF!

Every time I bunker down and get into work-mode every night with fursuits, I consider taking the time to make little tutorials (either printed or video) for the methods I use, but then I never do them.

Is that anything anyone would even be interested in seeing? There are so many ways to do things and none of them are a right or wrong way to go about fabrication, and I'm sure some of the things I do are nothing new under the sun, but if people think it would be worth it, I'd actually have a reason to try, rather than just going about my work and posting a couple WIP shots.

10 weeks is the blink of an eye! Why do I do this to myself?!

I'm back.

I had an awesome time and I danced my tail off everywhere. In the mall, in the bowling alley, at every night's rave, until 6am, in the arcade, in my room, in the elevators, on the stairs, down the halls, on the dance floor, on the stage, in tryouts, and in the dance comp finals.

I met a ton of awesome people and made some new lovely friends! Had dinner every night with the best friends a guy could have while out on vacation, won a 2nd place trophy at my first ever competition (novice category), joked with an amused security guard when the elevators broke down, and so much stuff I can't even.

What a weekend. Back to the world of the real, as unreal as it now feels. I'll shed a tear for the departure, but it's good to be home.

To everyone who made it awesome, all the other dancerfurs, con staff, A/V crew, DJs, hotel staff, new friends, old friends, and people I only ran into once: You're the reason BLFC was awesome.
