It was brought to my attention that everything in the $5 bracket up to December is being hosted on a pirate site. Five bucks... After fees that's only $3.13. I've been unemployed for almost a year, struggling to get by and you rob me for three dollars and thirteen cents...

There's exactly 1 person who joined and canceled on the same day December 8th, right after the content post. I know who you are.

But this was never about making money in the long run. It's about people who like what I draw supporting me in some way or another. If you liked my art enough to bother putting it up somewhere, I guess I'm flattered, really.

But think about what your doing. It's such a small amount, is it really too much to ask just to help me afford my Adobe leased software month to month so I can keep drawing stuff?

Over this last year I've dealt with five funerals and a wedding, contracted COVID, been unemployed for 8 months, had my waterheater rupture to needing replacement and generally had a hard time of it.

I'm generally late posting each month's image set and am well behind on commissions due to all manner of things getting in my way, but here's hope to a better year.

I'll have December's image set done this week, plus another installment of "We have ways..."

I'm sorry I've been constantly behind but I hope to get back on top of things now that my holiday obligations are done with.

Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well!

I lost my job at Amazon a few months back and have been trying to find a new role elsewhere. In the meantime, I've been drawing and writing and generally doing whatever I can to make ends meet.

To that point, coming in January, I plan to start a series of pictures with loads of alternates on my Patreon. I'll still post the first image of every set here and then one of the alts here a month later, so everyone still gets content out of me, of course! But the other alts will be exclusive to my Patreon in an attempt to make some money to support myself while unemployed.

I got a monthy subscription and can us Adobe Animate to access all of my old files, and it works pretty much the same as what I was used to with CS6, so...

Well, sadly, I can't install my old CS6, so that's that... I have a real product key, but Adobe has a record of the key being linked to my old college email account and the system automatically sends the validation code there...

I graduated in 2013. I don't thing customer assistance wants to hear how much I would like to continue using my 10 year old student edition of a discontinued product. And there is no way I am going to pay Adobe extortion to the tune of $50 or more per MONTH! Gees! I only paid ya crooks $450 and used it 8 YEARS!

Guess I'll try Gimp and see how that goes...

By the way, my new computer arrived and is up and running. I backed up loads of stuff I was working on literally the day before my old one died. Sure, I'd love to go back and work on my old flash based files, but, hey, at least I exported everything to .png format.

Expect some new stuff soon, I guess.

All of my drawings and stories are backed up on 3 separate places and my Flash assets and files are also backed up. Same with every commission I've ever paid for.

Now... I just hope I can download CS6 onto a new computer with my old disk... I know Flash was discontinued, but I draw in the old build and export to .png format, so the loss of Flash player wasn't a killing blow to me, BUT... if I can't install the old program, I can't open any of my WIPs and there were quite a lot of them! Sure would suck to have to start all over again...

Sorry I've been gone so long! I recently got a promotion at work and have been dealing with the stress of transitioning into my new role.

People keep talking about how fans forced them to change Sonic so we can get them to change Lola, too!

You're wrong.

The Sonic movie's first design was intentionally bad because they knew fans were going to cry about it, no matter what. So they made something supremely worse than their intended finished product so that they could say "Look how bad this was! We listened to our fans and fixed it!" That way they look like they care and the fans are appeased; a classic win-win situation. In reality they never planned on using the bad version in the first place and used the viral notoriety of the fan's backlash to boost awareness of the film and springboard into higher success. It was a ploy. A commercial tactic. The fans did not get them to change Sonic!

This is the same deal. The fan's backlash over Lola's redesign is a platform to boost awareness of the film, a film I didn't even know about until this whole thing blew up. Hmmm... Guess it worked!

Unlike the Sonic situation, the company will not change Lola to appease a bunch of horny bunny lovers. The film is not targeted at fans of the first film. You are not the "fans" they are looking for. You are the target of commercial manipulation and are being used to highlight a bigger agenda. This isn't about gender neutrality or feminism. This is about agitating people in just such a way to make sure the maximum number of people hear about it. Your outcry for change is nothing more than free advertising to them!

*Real Talk*
I like Lola's new design better than the old one. It fits more naturally with the other characters. It is visually less jarring and I feel more comfortable with her.

If I had a poster of the original Lola Bunny up in my room, it would feel about the same as if I'd cut the centerfold out of a men's magazine. A poster with the new design feels more benign. More readily acceptable.

"I don't want to be horny anymore! I just want to be happy..."

Since most people won't be able to use Flash Player after this month, I was thinking of making 3 panel comics out of some of the old Flash toys. Does anyone want them preserved that way? Which ones? Tell me!

Even if Adobe does dick me over and take away my main drawing program, I won't be leaving.

I'll learn some other program. I'll keep on drawing.

But I may also take the time to step back and work on my books and other projects.

I'm gonna use what time I have now until the last day of December to draw as much as I can in Flash, like always, so that if the creative tool gets pulled along with the Flash player, at least I'll have done my best to get done the projects important to me.

After that, if I can still use CS6; great! I'll keep on doing so. And if I can't; on to whatever comes next.

But I'm not going anywhere.
