So 2014 has been a big fucking mess for literally everyone.

But I just wanted to let all of you know that you’re amazing and awesome. If you’re reading this, you have a chance to make the next year even better, not just for yourself, but also for your friends and family.

Make good, obtainable resolutions. Focus on your future. Look out for others. Be open and willing to learn new things. And, even more importantly, don’t be afraid to let go of old things.

We’re all here on this Earth for a reason, and we only get one shot at figuring out why. Let’s work it out together, right?

As for me, I’m hanging out with my dad tonight, I might be back in time to watch the ball drop. Next year, I’m finishing my book and finding a new job, for sure. I’m becoming too complacent in my awful living situation, even when I know the house can go at any time, and I need to get out of here and be my own person as soon as possible. (And maybe start transitioning, if the opportunity and money come around.)

So mom’s 95% sure that the house is gonna be foreclosed at the end of the year and dad’s going to abandon us.

We went browsing around for some houses today but couldn’t find anything, and whatever we found online were way out of our budget. Mom’s getting a job soon, but it’s only a 90-day thing and it’s not gonna be enough. I still have my job, but yeah, 8 an hour’s not gonna cut it.

I’m gonna be looking for a new job, new career opportunities and stuff, but right now I’m just feeling stranded and upset. So I apologize if my activity on here slows down or stops while I try to work through this.

So in my last post I asked about your opinion on the heart nipple thing I've had in a few pics. And after talking to a close friend I've made a decision.

Nanaki's not gonna have the heart nips, but instead wear heart-shaped nipple pasties, and have regular nipples underneath.

How's that sound? c:

I really wish somebody would come out of the blue and throw a ton of money at me and be all like “hey dude I got faith in ya, write yer damn book son”.

Because I just feel crushed and unmotivated and stuff.

And mom keeps yelling at me to go get a Master’s Degree in “SOMETHING THAT PAYS MONEY” and at the same time wants me to take out a student loan to do that and burden me with debt for the rest of my life.

Three years ago, I started working for the first time, and I royally fucked up pissing away the money I earned. I'm in a better mindset now, and I have a second chance to prove I'm a mature adult that can handle my finances properly. So even though I'll be working and earning money, I probably still won't be commissioning anything for a while, not until I know I'm stable and I can afford it.

Most of my money is probably going to go to my education, gas bills, and plans on getting out of this house and start being independent. And more importantly, get a job that pays better. Not too long from now, my school's going to have a bunch of things going on in its English department involving job finding, so I want to take the opportunity to start working as I earn my Bachelor's.

My goal, in time, is to be in a position where I can show proper gratitude and thanks to the important people in my life that have helped keep me afloat, whether they be through small supportive comments, or talking with me in private. It's hard to stay positive, but hell, turns out it's possible.

And just because I have a job and have to balance it with school doesn't mean I'm gonna give up on my art and coloring. I'm gonna keep doing those when I get the opportunity, just not as often as I'd like. We'll see.

So...thanks again, everyone, for the gift art, emotional support, everything. It really does mean a lot to me, more than I can express in text. For all that you've done for me, I hope I can make you proud.

I got a call Monday afternoon from OfficeMax, and the manager asked me to come in and start because they needed people immediately. I worked yesterday as well.

Next week, I'll have a full schedule worked out and start getting a paycheck again.

It's not the best job in the world, but hey, I'm good at it and I'm gonna be getting paychecks again. So all's good.

So I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words and for sticking by me through all of this. It means a lot. <3

A little background first.

The car I drive is a Mercury Gran Marquis from the 90s. Basically aside from the bodywork (it’s build like a fucking tank), it’s a piece of shit with awful brakes, bad acceleration, terrible gas mileage, and a dashboard that works only when it feels like it. My dad got it off a shifty friend of his dirt cheap.

So I left about an hour and a half ago and got on the expressway to school, and it started raining. You know how when it rains, the sky turns gloomy and you can’t see the sun? NOT TODAY. I got rain pouring from above, and the sun rising in the distance. So not only is the sun blinding me and the rain hitting my windshield, but also the sunlight is reflecting off the rain on the road into my face.

So I’m at the top of this slope, and I start going down when I see this white pickup truck at the bottom of the slope that’s just stopped. Just stopped dead in the middle of the road. So I put my foot on the brake so I can slow down.

Instead, the wheels lock up, and my car skids down the hill.

So all I can do is keep the brakes on and brace myself and then… there’s this gentle little thud from my back wheels and I stopped, just an inch from from the truck.

He started moving immediately, and then I started again too. My car’s fine. I’m fine, though kinda shaken.

Lesson learned: FUCK CARS THEY ARE AWFUL.

Okay, so I finally got a new job.

It's just another OfficeMax that's further away from home, but hey, it's something at long last. And it's about time too; I was down to my last hundred bucks or so. I'm just waiting for my background check to clear, and then I'll be on the schedule.

But I'm not gonna fuck around like I did last time. I'm saving everything I earn, and only spend it on urgent things. No commissions, no video games, nothing. Gotta focus on getting out of here and starting life anew.

So I just wanted to take the time to thank all of you for being there for me and sending me supportive messages and stuff. It really means a whole lot to me. c:

I have my network adapter back and I have internet access once again.

This is great and all, though I think I learned quite a bit from this ordeal...about myself, how people in my family see me, and what I've been doing wrong. Even though I'm back, there's still a long way to go before I can really say I've seriously committed to changing for the better. Because really, it's very easy to slip back into old, bad habits in place of making new ones.

So hopefully, I can make a bit more progress...finishing my book and school, finding a new job, gaining my independence, that sort of stuff. And seriously, I don't feel like fucking up again and having to deal with this same bullshit all over again. :V

I was able to convince mom to let me have the computer back, so I could get my resume and bank statements off. Then I convinced her furthermore to let me keep it, as long as they take away my network adapter so I no longer have internet access, but can still use it for school stuff.

She agreed, but I'm not taking any chances. At this moment, I'm backing everything up on my external hard drive. It's a new drive, so hopefully it won't roll over and die before I find a way out of here. :V

Mom still says she wants to find a way to get money though, so I need to keep an eye out in case she starts looking through my belongings or something.

So crisis averted for the most part, but I still need to proceed with caution.

My computer’s been taken away, getting wiped. Then mom’s selling all of my stuff.

My internet’s been cut off. I don’t know when I’ll be back. Family drama again.

Second chapter introduces us to two new characters: Atum Paragorn, a jackal that’s Nanaki’s high school friend and crush; and Cole Sterling, a lamia and Nanaki’s ex-boyfriend.

Went into work this morning for the last time. I was scheduled to come in at 4 today, but they had already shut the store down and were cleaning it out. They gave me some documents, a donut, and what was left of the going away cake, and then I went home.

So yeah...that's how my three years of employment came to an end.

I'm sad it had to be this way, but I'm glad I was able to leave on good terms with everyone, and I got plenty of experience. I'm going to take a week off to sort of exfoliate and get myself together, and then start job hunting again.
