So when he's invited to join a group of guys playing D&D, something he'd always been wanting to do, he hesitantly accepts the invitation. And that starts him on the path to learning more about himself then he's ready to face right now...
Now that I've been uploading a lot of content for Dungeons & Doggoes, I thought it was time to collect some links for the project.

Hiatus
Posted 12 years agoI will be taking a short art hiatus.
Lately all I've felt when drawing is frustration. Frustration because I see no improvement, frustration because my characters look flat (even when it's just line art) and frustration because I can't seem to draw realistically however much I try. After a year of art study it doesn't feel like I have improved all that much, and it bothers me to the point that I've gone back on my art. Especially shading, gradual shading, not cell-shaded, bugs me so much because I can't get proper gradients.
Not only that, but I feel like the past few months I have alienated from my friends. My friends have always been my inspiration for art, whether they knew it or not. And since I have grown my reclusive I feel my sources of inspiration have depleted.
This does not mean I'll stop drawing all-together or disappear. I'm just not posting while I try to climb back up to the point I feel comfortable with my art again.

What was this year like?
Posted 13 years agoWell... First off, I got my first smartphone in January. May not seem a big thing, but to someone who's not really had a cellphone before that it was a major step-up, especially in social life.
This year I also finished my 4th year in Game Design and Development with a project on storytelling (which will never ever see the light of day again >_>). Having no clue what to do next, I'd been toying with the idea of moving to Canada to take up some art classes. My initial idea was to try Los Angeles or San Francisco, but the state of US politics changed my mind (which is odd for someone who doesn't give two shits about politics).
So in the end I decided to go to Canada. I ended up in a small little town in New Brunswick, where I got to meet my goodestest friends
tairupanda, Overlord Prince and Durmaethor :3
That summer was soooo much fun. I moved in July and during those few summer months I also got to meet
~lf, who came to visit and 
orangetavi. We went all over the place, played all the games, climbed all the trees and played with all the pokemon cards! o/
All in all a very very good year. I've had my ups and very downs, especially when it comes to the field of love. Had some real dark moments where I believed I would never love, and some big moments where I thought my heart would burst with joy (especially due to
lupeadupe who is my soonwife). And then I met an amazing guy, and I hope it'll go places. But that's doubtful.
Anyway, here's to an amazing next year! *raises glass, spills it all over the new carpet*

Fears
Posted 13 years agoDo you have any fears? I was talking about it earlier, and the fear of heights came up. Personally for me, if I sit up real high I feel really comfortable. Being asked what I feared, I had to think about it.
And I couldn't come up with something that I physically feared.
I replied that I feared being forgotten, but that's not the same kind of fear. A physical fear, like claustrophobia or a fear of mice, fears like these... I couldn't think of one for me.
So do you have any fears? And what is it that scares you about that subject?

I guess I'll be going there in 2 months and spend a year or so in the region.

Pieces towards a portfolio
Posted 14 years agoOk, so I'm working on getting portfolio material together to enter an art-school, some of which have to be specific pieces.
But this portfolio is supposed to be of all kinds of art, not just furry. It has to show what I'm capable of.
Now I'm looking to add between 3-8 pieces of my gallery to this portfolio.
And I would like to ask your help for that. Which pieces from my gallery are the best in your eyes, and why?

Since he's a pretty recent creation, nothing's changed. Though at first my fursona was Trip, a wolf.

New fursona!

Now I just need to return from... where am I now... Oh right, Tunis, all the way to Barcelona and then back to the Netherlands.
Once I'm there, I'll draw out a reference sheet for my new fursona. And I'm going to try to get a special commission to draw him properly by a special someone. Hope he'll do it....
Anyway, 2 more days till I'm back, but for me this cruise may end now. Today my wallet got stolen from pocket in Tunis. It contained 100 euros my uncle had given me, my driving license, my ID and some other cards. I don't need to mention how pissed off I am; I've been listening to raging Soil songs for the past half hour.
Good thing the cocktails here are near free *slurps Cosmopolitan*
See you all in a few days, I miss most of you. But not you.

Dear memories
Posted 14 years agoSo here I am, standing in the far distance of a road I once walked. Looking back at it, I see why I walked it; it was a good one, inhabited by many people who I'd have called friends. Memories to both sides, good as well as bad. And there's people sitting besides them, people who I only remember as vague faces, odd characters or partial names. Who were they?
Some, I can't remember. But I should; they were important to me. Once. In another life. But where have they gone? It's been five years. I enjoyed those years. But now, standing here and looking back, I feel alone.
Where have those people gone that I enjoyed spending so much time with? I travelled places with them, I saw the marvels of the world, we explored new lands together. We laughed, we yelled, we had drama as well as joy. We were friends, once. A group, a whole. And one by one they left. Or did I slowly drift away? It's hard to tell. The result is yet the same; I stand here, my mind full of heirlooms of that time, but no one to hold my hand or stand beside me as I travel on. Were we ever really friends?
I'd like to think so.

So 10 things about me then:
1. I thought I was a nerd, but have been proven otherwise.
2. I have a thing for chubby men with black hair and beards.
3. I chose a wolf as fursona, because my art teacher once said it might be my totem-guide.
4. I have had a booger stuck in my nose for the past 5 minutes....
5. I'm a terrible conversationalist; I feel like I interrogate people rather then asking them questions.
6. I like having a green-light colorblindness, it lets me see better at night.
7. I'm a sore loser, so I avoid competitive games.
8. I'm secretly a very sly person.
9. Chocolate. I love it.
10. I have no clue what to do with my hair.
God that was horrible.

In case of emergency
Posted 14 years agoLately, the question 'What would you do when a zombie apocalypse happens?' has been keeping me busy. The thought frightens me, especially since this plant was found.
So what would I do?
The first thing I'd probably do, is phone home and tell my mother to take the dog and as much food as she can, go to the topfloor of our house and barricade the stairway. Then tell her that if I'm not home within a day, to consider me dead. Also, I found a solid wooden baseball bat last week in my garage and hid it in my room even before this question was asked me :p
Im lucky to live near a rural area, which would probably be relatively safe. But I'm unsure if I'd be a survivor, a hero who dies or just random zombie #847.
