Respond to this journal and I'll talk about you.
1. Tell you something I'll learn about you by looking at your FA page for 13 seconds.
2. Tell you which color you remind me of.
3. Tell you my first memory of you.
4. Tell you what animal you remind me of. (No, not pokemon, animal.)
5. Ask you something I've always wondered about you, and your answer has to be as vague as possible to keep the suspense.
6. Tell you my favorite thing about you.
7. Give you a weird nickname.
8. Tell you what's on my shirt right now.
9. Challenge you to post this on your journal.

Okay... I officially have way too much great icon art now!
General | Posted 15 years agoHad to make a custom mix to show off all three of the icons I have, since they're all really awesome I want to show them off, even though only one of them is 'me' and that's the one doing the fire-fan dance, WolfWings. He... I... well, it'll be the first time I've truly had to 'let loose' entirely, and I don't know what to expect when I have such a strong focus for channeling my inner self, all of it. It'll be interesting to see what I find drawing that up from deep inside. I expect dents in walls, in a good way. :iscool:
Split Paw is... well, he's a fun chance to touch bases with my tribal side again, something I've missed more than I realized since I moved out of California. There? I was accepted at sweat lodges, allowed to be the fire-tender. Since I moved to the midwest? I'm... well, I'm the white guy wearing scraps of Amerind paraphernalia, a true outsider. But Split Paw, he's a chance to run around and feel... not quite regal, but content, at peace. Yes, I'm still energetic, and hard on that suit (already tore one ear up through nobody's fault but my own, fixed that easily enough) but he's distinctly thoughtful by comparison.
Lumi Kelluke on the other hand, my husky that really suddenly got me re-hooked on fursuiting again after too many years away, is mischievous. To the point I'll push things, try to get into trouble and actually be wary about putting him on almost akin to putting on the Mask. I mean, fuck, my brain must've took a sharp turn to the left when I (on a whim to keep on dancing at the dead dog) ran upstairs to change out of the bodysuit, and pulled on the suit-and-tie ensemble I had, and since I lacked long enough arms grabbed the _LAB_COAT_ I had with for some House M.D. cosplay. So, yes, I was in a white lab coat, blue faux-silk button-up shirt, marbled-blue tie, dark grey slacks, and Lumi's head, hands, and feet. Dancing my fool soul out when I could, until I had a con-goer ask if I was Kage borrowing a fursuit. That snapped me right the hell out of my mischievous mood, and I was a lot more cautious about how outgoing I was until I got out of suit after the dead dog was entirely shut down.

Gotta share this...

Finally got to play Robot Unicorn...
General | Posted 16 years ago...that game *IS* addictive. For the longest time it wouldn't load right on my computer for some reason. Dunno what changed, since Chrome just quietly self-updates without making a big fuss about "OMG, I updated! Have to restart browser!" but just does it in the background. So might've been Chrome, might've been Adult Swim modified their site.
Either way... I see what all the fuss is about, FINALLY! =^.^=

FurAffinity AUP and TOS changes coming March 15th!
General | Posted 16 years ago[Go here] on the FA forums to the specific sub-forum for discussion/commentary on the changes.
has been good enough to break the new AUP/TOS sections into individual forum threads for much more focussed and productive discussion, but please, Please, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do read the [Read This First] thread before posting!
I'll admit, I've suggested some changes already and possible problem-areas I see with the proposed new TOS/AUP pairing. Please, above all else try to be constructive and concise, and don't rush! Let the admins have time to read your questions, make sure they're not dupes already asked/addressed, let's keep this civic and productive! The admins all have lives and jobs to deal with, FA isn't it.

General | Posted 16 years agoAnd holy crap... the pictures Soki posted of the head, hands, and feet don't do him justice... until you see the body as well it's just impossible to appreciate!
Pictures and what-not coming soonish, fiddling with the pieces and what-not first, trying bits on one by one, etc, etc.
EDIT: Delay on photos, forgot to charge the camera battery. D'oh!

Happy Singles Awareness Day!
General | Posted 16 years agoNobody to swear my undying love to (yet, though there's some threads out there that I don't know where they'll lead) but for those that have a reason to truly celebrate today? Do so!
And those that don't? Feel free to ring me, pester me, whatever. I'm gonna be bored today! =^.^= I'll head to bed soonish likely, but I always welcome random phone calls and will answer if I'm aware today.

'Yena assistance needed!
General | Posted 16 years agohttp://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1190272/
is trying to find somewhere to live in short order in Florida in the Orlando-ish area. I'd help... but I'm about to have the final payment on a fursuit (of a hyena no less!) in a matter of days, so by the time I have the money to help it may be too late. =-.-=

General | Posted 16 years agoCon Report for FC2010
General | Posted 16 years agoAnd... final tweaks done to the car.
General | Posted 16 years agoJust re-tightened the wheels for the last time, changed then a couple days ago, retightened them when I got home, and just now checked... two bolts to snug up a bit more, final adjustments on the tire pressure... and viola, car's pretty much good to go! Yay!
Even got the Cruise Control installed, sans two parts I'm waiting on (special weather-proof pins for the wiring harness plugs from Toyota) before I run the last wire out to the engine bay. And payed today... so last car payment before FC sent off, snow chains ordered, I'm officially over-prepared at this point, and over-joyed about it. =^.^=

Car winterization, completed!
General | Posted 16 years agoFirst snow, and my winter tires are on the car. *clank*
Installed the lower radiator block as well, woo!
Now, just waiting for the various bits and pieces to arrive so I can package them in the back and get the car fully prepared for the trip... some road flares, snow chains (yes, on top of snow tires), sleeping bag, engine block heater, and I'm pretty much set then. Yes, there's lots of extraneous kibble listed there, this is the first year I've properly supplied my car, so there's a lot of odds and ends.

Car winterization, stage 1... done!
General | Posted 16 years agoWinter tires and wheels? Acquired.
Upper radiator block? Installed.
Washer fluid? Swapped to -25C 'illegal to sell in California' fluid.
Windows/headlight lenses? Washed the outside with 90% rubbing alchohol.
Now... to wait for first snowfall for stage 2, putting the winter tires/wheels on, the lower radiator block, and winter oil change with fresh 0W-20 oil.
And somewhere in there, swing by the dealership and pick up the replacement wiring harness sockets, and pick up some black car silicone taillight sealant so I can re-wire my import LED brakelights to US sockets and install them with full weather sealing. Also need to swing by that paint-and-body shop, get a quote on them re-spraying the chrome sections of the tails to body colour silver instead.

Fursuiting at Zona Rosa on Saturday October 24th, noon on!
General | Posted 16 years agoJust sending out a feeler so I know how many are interested and can plan things. Very sorry for totally dropping the ball on September entirely, between MFM and suddenly a boat-load of overtime at work it just entirely slipped my mind!
And yes, I asked if we could be there on the 31st, but that's the one and only day of the month they don't want us there, but they couldn't explain why. As Disney helps sponsor that day for them, I'll chalk it up to the mouse's usual aversion to costumers being worked into the contract somewhere. Or just them being cautious for a first-year, second-event group coming over.

Woo... fursuit's clean, fluffy, dry, and packed.
General | Posted 16 years agoFinished rebuilding the feet... did an odd construction technique but I think it turned out pretty good overall. The toes have a lot more flexibility without stressing the attachment to the shoes or sole now, they're somewhat 'floating' actually. It's really hard to describe how I rebuilt the feet, it's definitely not the standard way but it's solid as a rock while still letting the foot itself flex and fold through a fairly wide range of motion.
And despite the feet being quite large, they have good traction and 'trip resistance' when walking since I bevelled the edge inwards, so there's a bit of a skid-plate construction around the perimeter. I'll see how well it holds up at MFM. *crosses paws*

Should a bunch of suiters go attend a Seth Green show?
General | Posted 16 years agoJust found out Seth Green (yes, the SG) is hosting a showing of Robot Chicken nearby, for free. Open attendance.
Me and some friends are considering piling into suits, since I've got some practice driving in fullsuit, and actually driving to and from the event in fullsuit for a bit, just for fun.
Not sure if we're more insane for considering it, for considering it in fullsuit, or if we actually follow through with it...

Woot, finally I'll have the chance to refit the husky.
General | Posted 16 years agoLookin' forward to Sunday afternoon/evening, going to finally have a chance to re-do the zipper to both repair where it was starting to pull free at the top corner and refit the collar area as a side-effect so it'll fit me much better.
No more neck-checks when tromping around, and we'll re-seal the padding-pockets and neck area's lining that've started to come up along some edges. Likely see about recuffing the ankles, and maybe make some accessories for him too.
Yeah, I know, awfully mundane post. Just jazzed to get the suit back up to 99.999% status again and get the refitting out of the way before the fursuiting@Zona Rosa thing. Pics to come, and likely me tromping around in it who knows where afterwards...

Huh... apparently I'm getting my sense of smell back...
General | Posted 16 years ago...I'm starting to notice things again, like (as random as this sounds) the smell of a clean fursuit, or fresh laundry, good (and bad) food... I've just been noticing scents a LOT more the last week or so. Wonder why... realized it when I was moving the fursuit to do a bit of tidying up... and whoosh, suddenly I realized it was the fursuit I'd been smelling in the room the whole time. Just a pleasantly 'clean' but not over-laundered scent, started prowling around my slowly-emptying apartment... picking up scents here and there.
It's been... close to a decade since an ex-friend of mine broke my nose, and the surgery to re-attach it the doctor insisted on 'fixing my sinuses' while he was in there. I used to be able to tell when people entered the room, and figure out who it was by scent the majority of the time. If my sense of smell really is finally healing up fully and coming back... it's really hard to put into words just how much I've missed it.
Fursuits do have a distinctly different aroma from any other form of clothing or costuming though, I think in large part due to the common materials used that prevent 'modern' cleaning techniques from being used, so dozens of specialized micro-techniques are needed instead for the majority of fursuits. So they end up with an aroma that definately trips 'clean' in the mind, but it's at the same time distinctly NOT the right 'flavor' of clean, which trips other circuits in the brain. Or at least in my brain.

So... I have a husky now! I need a name!
General | Posted 16 years agoIt's not a real husky though, just a fursuit. But I still need a name!
It was PistolPup's persona-incarnate previously, so it used to 'be' PistolPup... that won't do at all now. So... ideas?

And as a reminder: Fursuiting at Zona Rosa on July 18th is still on!
