I know that for some people on fur affinity that they don't like cops and I understand that, they have their reasons. As well as I have my reasons for going in to a career as a police officer that I know it's a career that a lot of people are not like me. I also know that when I don my blues and I wear that badge I become part of the thin blue line and the ridicule that goes with it, I also understand that every day I done that uniform may be my last and I accept that because for me donning that uniform means I am doing something to try and protect not only the ones I love and care for but also the city and state I serve. However I know that the worry of what is going to happen to my family and friends if I were to be killed in the line of duty will loom over me every day whether I'm in uniform are not. But as I said before I accepted these terms when I first made the decision to become a police officer and it is decision I'm going to stand behind. For me becoming a police officer is not about the gun the badge with a fast car with really cool bells and whistles, for me it's more about what's doing right and I know that what is right may not always be easy.
