Starting on the busts and then we're on to the lotto!

For those that might have missed my two previous journals, after completing the freebies I took last night I'll be holding a lotto drawing during my stream to decide the winners of two additional freebie slots for one waist up image and one bust image both of which will be colored.

To be eligible all you have to do is be present in the stream at the time of the number drawing.

Also for those that I've already drawn sketches for, I'll be sending out the images via drop-box later on when everything is finished.

I really need to knock the cobwebs off and get my ass in gear so I can get back to working with art regularly. So I've decided to take a few freebie bust and waist up pictures from anyone who may want them. I was thinking of doing three of each type and then maybe one of each in simple colors or quick paint.

I'm going to be working mainly on personal stuff doing studies and such and then later I'll likely work on owed art. I might also do some "PWYW" stuff but I'm on the fence with that seeing as I have owed art already but we'll see where the evening takes us.

I really need to get back into a daily cycle of drawing and there's really no better time than now seeing as it's the start of the week, and I'm thinking of streaming at least three times a week for a few hours so keep an eye out for further announcements on that.

So here we are again. You reading my journal and me with nothing much other than excuses about why I haven't been posting art. For those that've stuck around, you guys are awesome and I love every one of you, and for those that've just shown up or have been waiting on promised art, I don't deserve the right to apologize.

I generally prefer to keep my personal business to myself simply because if I let everyone hear me bitch about my life I'd feel like one of those people that get online just throw pity parties and you can't shower enough to get that grimy feel out of your skin. However, I really feel like I should get over myself and let people know what's going on at least every so often so I don't get strung up from the nearest tall tree.

And so a brief history....

For a while now, even back while I was tackling my commission list, I've been suffering artistically from art block and a whole manner of related issues, and it's been showing in my turn around times for commissions and all my promised art. This caused a long stint after my last journal in which I honestly didn't draw much if at all, and the feelings have only gotten worse as time progressed.

Then some time after the first of the year my father sprung a job on me in the form of labor for an excavation company working ten hour days burying conduit and cable up around Dulles airport. My current residence puts me two hours away from work and to make it in on time we have to leave town at 4:30 in the morning (I get up around 3:30 to get ready). If you add those hours up you realize I end up with about four hours in the evening to shower, eat, and relax for a bit before heading to bed at a decent time to be ready for the next day. This left me with even less desire to do much of anything as it's both a strain mentally and physically. My three days off are usually reserved for other things. Generally stuff that I'm forced to take part in simply by living here with my parents.

Things are still progressing though. I'm looking to enrolling into an online art school in July. Hopefully that'll help answer many of the questions I have and help me ask the right ones I need to progress further. It's going to be stressful though due to my limited time but to me it seems worth the reward.

I'm still a little iffy on my drawing drive despite reading some thought provoking journals this past month. Specifically  wolfy-nail's Art Blocks journal found here. If you haven't read it you should definitely go do that, it really put a lot of stuff into perspective for me. Anyway this brings me to the last part of my journal which is something that always seemed to help motivate me to get shit done. That is of course, STREAMING! I've got a lot of things I really want to work on and despite fearing what you guys might think after seeing how little I've done I don't see why you guys shouldn't get to watch and possibly enjoy.

I'm very happy to point out that I'm finally done with my commission list! It took far longer than it really should have and I can't apologize enough to everyone who had to wait for their art.

Now that commissions are finished I can fully direct my attention to the lovely people who generously donated a good while back during my aid drive for  hizzie and  phobiamonster (Who, by the way, could definitely still use all the support you guys can offer. Now, for those that donated I realize that certain things were promised but seeing as things have kind been let go for a while I'm not sure those promises are adequate. So here's my plan. For everyone that donated I'm going to go to their pages and pick out a character, then I'm going to fill up a 3000x3000 canvas with sketches of that character. It'll be a mix of head profiles full bodies and such, pretty much whatever hits me. Only one person is excluded from this and that is because I promised something a little more specific to them and it requires more work than few sketches can match.

I haven't really decided on it yet but I may stream these sketch pages as well. It has been a while since I've streamed and really been social. I do however want to get a few things lined out before I dive back into all that. Going to try and be as organized as possible and I've got a lot a things I wanna do.

I learned recently that my unemployment has run out. This means that my household is now missing out on $200 a week. It also mean that have to find some sort of income to make up for the loss as that money was the only reason things have been running so smoothly around here.

Fortunately it's not too much to make within a weeks time, so I should be able to get away with selling at least one portrait in a now daily stream as well as a few sketches. I think what I'll do is move my sketches to PWYW (Pay What You Want) allowing a minimum of $5 and then save two hours of time for one $25 portrait.

And since this is pretty much turning into work hours I figure I might as well set a time or at least a minimum amount of time spent streaming.

I'll stream anytime past 12pm EST for a minimum of 7 hours (I will stream longer if I feel up to it but no less) starting tomorrow since this is the last week of my unemployment. I will also start working on my older commission in stream to keep things going while nobody is after art.

As for today I'll probably stream some later to get things rolling but I'm not quite ready to hit a 7 hour stretch yet.

Hopefully all this will work out and everyone can stay happy.

As it would appear last weekend and most of this week was just not the time to stream. xD

If you guys recall I was supposed to get a rather nasty storm preventing me from streaming at the time I had previously intended only to have the storm blow over without much of a fuss, and even then only to have FA to literally break leaving me no way to contact you guys.

That's something I'll have to fix, but in the mean time let's hope thrd time is a charm and give this one last shot!

I know I told you guys that were in the stream last night that I was going to stream today but it's been one thing after another here.

I had to clear off the garden around the time I intended to stream as I was caught while eating some chicken and then while finishing that up mother nature decided to throw a major middle finger up at me and loom overhead in uber bitch mode with a monstrous storm.

"Damaging winds and large hail" the machine over the phone informed me.

"gawd dammit" I replied.

So in short, I'm not sure if I'll have power here soon so I'm scared to even try to work on anything at the moment because I've already been there, done that, and lost everything to show for it.

If everything clears up later or it looks like we'll be good here then I'll certainly throw up a journal and get cracking. If not then It'll have to wait until tomorrow.

So hopefully I'll see you guys sooner than later.

The reason for that being is that I wasn't doing a damn thing. For like a week I think. I needed it.

Anyway that's over and it's back to business. (I hate that word)

Basically what my plans are other than churning out my back list of commissions starting with the ones that have been paid for, unless expressed otherwise by the commissioner obviously, is to also churn out a one shot comic that I recently managed to formulate. Been working on the idea for a bit but until now I wasn't able to keep the plot short enough for a simple one shot.

For those curious, yes it's a porn comic. It has all the important parts for porn and all in the plural.

I'll start by posting character designs as I complete them so you guys can get to know the cast before the first page comes out.

I think once I'm ready I'll set a certain day to post a page and keep a few pages on stand by.

Anyway, I'll tty guys later. Till then, I'm out.

I would love to explain in detail just how my first time to Anthrocon was and how it turned into a wonderful first time to a convention and first time to Pittsburgh, but it'd pretty much go along the same lines of this first time "after ac journal" sentence.

Plus it makes me feel like even more of a shut in, but I digress.

Jokes aside the convention was all in all a wonderful time. I'm extremely glad I made the decision to go and I look forward to making the trip again next year.

Unfortunately not everything went according to plan. I took along my laptop and tablet to work on my current commission list while at the con but the stars seemed to simply align and prevented this from happening.

First my laptop goes on the fritz, so I attempted to use Hizzie's but she lacks the driver for my tablet. I asked to use hers but her pen appears to be lost. Box is nowhere to be found as well as his tablet and pen. Then I even attempted to download the driver for the tablet while at the hotel but alas no free wifi. After all this there was literally no point or time to try any further so I resigned myself to work my hands to the bone after getting home which is what I aim to do.

Streaming will likely be kept down to a minimum as I'm still kinda ashamed of myself not getting things done as well as I should and I'm also closing commissions for now until I can get the ones I have done. If I've talked to you prior to this journal about a commission then don't worry it will be completed. After the current group are are finished I'll be hitting commissions again full throttle and I also aim to draw for myself through the whole duration. I don't show myself or my characters nearly as much love as I should and they are an integral part of my artistic growth so it must be done.

If you guys happened to see me at the con let me know, I'd love to talk to all of you who made me feel so welcome. Just drop me a note and we can exchange skype names if you have one or if you already have  hizzie or  boxhead I'm sure they'd be glad to share.

That's right peeps, I find myself in some desperate need of some money what with AC on the horizon and (self adhered) pressure to help out my parents' financial crisis.

Skipping the sob story, basically what's going down is that I'm opening FIVE slots for some full digital paintings. That's one or more character (no more than four) with a snazzy full color painted background to go with it.

I can not stress enough that these are LONG TERM. I'm going to spend a lot of time on theses pictures and it will be weeks before anything comes to fruition.

The themes for these images can be anything you want, PG-XXX. If you're unsure that I'll go for it just ask and I'll let you know.

The base price for each of these slots is $75 with another $25 should you want to add more characters.

I have to ask that only paypal be used and that you pay ahead of time which is not my normal MO, I know, but like I said I need the money.

What to say...

Well I've been going at it pretty hard these past few weeks trying to stream everyday and at least sketch some here and there. My auction didn't go as well as I'd have hoped but I suppose I did bring that much on myself since I held it in stream which only a few usually attend. But anyway that's old news and it's time to move on.

With only one image queued up to complete for others I think I'm going to take the opportunity to ease off a bit and do something fun. After all it has been some time since I've done done art for myself. Course I won't leave you guys and gals out so fret not.

Not sure just yet what I may get into but whatever it is I'll be sure to share.

Also kinda getting back into the traditional mood so I'll be sure to scan whatever I come up with.
