Semi-Custom of a Species: 70 (flat full body (off-base) with a palette- you give me a theme and colors you like, 1-2 WIPs)
Chibis: 30+[20 for symmetrical]
Portraits [Elbows/Shoulders up]: 50+Flats, 80+ Shaded
Fullbody: 110+ Flats, 150+ Shaded
New Shading Style: Cell-shaded [+20% to any type of commission]

[Vent-ish]I was in the hospital for the past four days.
Posted 3 years agoI hadn't been feeling well for about five days prior with fever spikes up to 103.9, but I'd been able to break them up until Saturday last, when I woke up feeling fine, with no fever, and threw up. After that, my fever climbed and wouldn't go back down, so I went into urgent care.
They suspected Sepsis, and rushed me to the ER via the ambulance wing- which is where they do a much quicker assessment, I guess- and they swept me into a room, where they then spent around 12 hours poking and prodding me.
Suspected sepsis became, 'maybe a UTI' became, 'we need to scan your lungs for a blood clot, something in your bloodwork spooked us,' became, 'oh that's double pneumonia. You have pneumonia in both lungs.'
And so they admitted me into the hospital proper.
It sucked balls. They had me with various roommates. The first, I was swiftly moved away from. The second was an /incredibly/ annoying, loud woman who fought her doctor and walked out. The third was an equally annoying woman who looked at my wife and I like we were freaks when we explained, no, we're -married-. And the fourth was a dying woman. I was privvy to talks I didn't /want/ to be part of, simply by the fact that these rooms, meant to house one patient, were being forced to hold two.
My mother, who I'm no-contact with, called the hospital repeatedly after my grandmother let slip I was there. She sent messages through my brother, and my step-father. And then my father, who hasn't bothered to talk to me for literally a decade, texted me. I dunno what to do with any of that. None of them fuckin' cared when I had /emergency gallbladder surgery/ a few months ago.
Through it all, I had a resting heartrate of 120+, and the medical staff, as lovely as they were- I can, will, and have sung their praises, to them and to the surveyor at check-out- did not listen to me when I said, 'that's literally only that high because I'm stressed out. I'm autistic, I need to go home as soon as I can get off these IV antibiotics, just let me head home.' My oxygen levels 'tanked', and they said, 'this would make sense for someone with COPD, but you're too young, and you've never smoked.'
To which I said, 'everyone around me did, and I had a bad cough for a month straight and my mother did nothing about it, it went untreated until my grandma hauled me out to a hospital and got me antibiotics, I've had a cough ever since'. And they replied, 'why no diagnosis on record?' I've never in my adult life had health insurance.
So it took me being /extremely/ adamant to get out of there yesterday, and lo! my bpm has dropped to a far more reasonable level. No return in my fever, I've got most of my appetite back, and I've got my prescriptions and I'm moving forward.
Haven't seen the bill yet, but, it is what it is, I guess.

Looking for an art or design trade!

Posted 3 years agoSo, y'know. Fun fact- experiencing crippling pain and emetic fits for hours on end isn't normal. I put up with, like, nine of these before Luck had the dubious pleasure of witnessing one such fit and suggested, perhaps, I go to the ER.
Fast-track to several hours later, and the nice young doctor cheerily informed me, "Hey, we might need to take your gallbladder, and you might have stones.
Several more hours later, and I woke up gall-bladderless. So I'm home now.
I dread the bill, and I have to entirely revamp how I eat from now on, as I can't eat -any- fats, but it'll sort itself out.

Our food stocks got fucked for a hot minute there due to two separate events, money is a wee bit tight, but w/e, I've pulled myself through worse.
