My boyfriend and I are very interested in going to AC as we have the past two years. Unfortunately, we've got no one we know IRL that's going, so we're kind of out of luck for hotel rooms. :C

He's gonna be suiting and I might be suiting as well. It's very important that if we find a room that it's within close-ish distance to the hotel.

Please help us out! D: We really wanna go, and this summer might be the last time we spend a lot of time together for a while since he's moving and I'm trying to go to school. Goals:

-Give up eating out at restaurants. (Unless it's a special occassion.) Cook/prepare all of my meals instead.
-Pray for at least 10 minutes a day.
-Go to church more frequently. (Granted, if I like the church. I won't stay at a church I don't like.)
-Start a gym membership at Planet Fitness and work out more.
-Save money and donate at least $50+ to charity.
-Draw more. Not just fan art. Original art, too.

Well, it's a lot more than last year, but I'm sure I can accomplish most, if not all of my goals! :D

OKAY SO

I had a weird ass dream. It was about a furcon. A small-ass furcon though.

It just started off with me and stumbling into this big room. All it had was two big mattresses and a shit ton of drunk, furry friends. Among those friends were , , , and was there, too! So Bobby and I were like, "Oh okay" and just piled on top of everyone.

The next part of the dream was just everyone talking drunk speak for a while. We were all just kinda chilling on the mattresses like douchebags. Then there was a knock on the door. It was my mom.

I was like, "mom, wtf are you doing here."

Then I realized something. I was in my house. It was a furry convention at my house, hosted by my mom.

But apparently, even though we were in a crummy-ass room with nothing but two mattresses, my house was actually a hotel with a super mall attached to it. And when I say "super mall", I mean there was shit like Saks Fifth, Nieiman Marcus, and all these other fancy-dancy, designer brand superstores. I guess my mom finally got so much money she just bought a mall, because they're all her favorite stores.

Anyway, so upon realizing that, I was like, "HEY GUYS, LET'S GO TO THE MALL THAT'S A PART OF MY GIANT ASS HOTEL-HOUSE" and we did so. After dicking around, we found my brother and he started reciting Boondocks quotes. Naturally, because I love the Boondocks, I decided to recite them with him. All of a sudden, for some reason or another, gasped and was like, "I'M OUTTA HERE" and I was like, "Oh shit, he's gonna get lost in the super mall, I'll go after him." Idk, maybe we got the quote wrong and he's a Boondocks aficionado and got offended by our poor Boondocks knowledge. I'm not entirely sure.

He managed to find his way outside. For some reason, I also had a full fledged track complete with Ultimate Frisbee equipment in the middle. And then he feels overwhelmed to just start working out on the track? Like, doing sprints, hurdles, jogging, pole vaulting, idek. And all the while I'm still chasing after him trying to get him to stop. Then he starts to play Ultimate Frisbee. Finally I'm like, "Oh good, he's in place, I'll go after him."

Nope. He realizes I'm going after him and he starts to throw frisbees at me. I am pelted a few times but I finally catch up to him and convince him to go back to the 6-person furry convention at my super mall hotel-house.

That's when I wake up.

I've never even hung out with IRL before. How a majority of the dream revolved around me chasing after him at my track outside my house convention I will never really know.

It was hilarious, though. I legit woke up laughing.

I think this is the first time I had a lucid dream that wasn't a total nightmare.

If you ever, EVER talk down to someone about privilege and how much of it they have compared to you, think about all the starving children across the world, think about Blood Diamond workers, think about the Invisible Children, think about girls forced into sex rings in less-fortunate countries. Look at your life compared to theirs and tell me who has more privilege.

Honestly, this whole privilege thing is making everyone who whines about it sound like fucking brats.

Okay, let's look at my mom, one of the most "privileged" people I know.

She earns $250,000 a year. Seems like a lot, 'cause hey, it is a lot. She makes so much money, almost 40% goes to taxes. Serves her right, right? Making all that money, it's not fair! It all must obviously fall into her lap! Her life must be so fuckin' easy with all of that money! It must be a cakewalk!

Well, guess what? It didn't just fall into her lap. When she was only 16, her family kicked her out of her home simply because her dad was an abusive dick that didn't like her. She tried living with her friend, but my mom's own mother spread a rumor around that she slept with her friend's dad, so she was kicked out of that home. Her only choice was to start getting into college a lot earlier than she intended. She got into nursing because there wasn't much else to do at her age. To her surprise, she was okay with it, so she continued. She continued learning about medicine even when me and my siblings came into the world. She kept going to school, but it was nearby, so it didn't effect much. Then she decided to get her certification in Anesthesiology. For many reasons, my parents decided to get a divorce while she moved away to South Carolina to continue her degree. She stayed in school until I was 13, almost 14. So for nearly half of her life, she was in school, securing this hefty salary. She endured going through a divorce and being away from her children just for us and our best interests. She wanted a good as job as she could get not only for us, but for me and my siblings. Now she's a CRNA. If you don't know what that is, it basically means she puts people to sleep and brings them to life so these people can get surgery. It's an extremely stressful job simply because if she fucks up she could be solely responsible for their death. She kept every person she's ever worked on alive since she got her degree.

So yeah, she makes a lot of fuckin' money, and because of it she's subjected to a lot of hate for simply having wealth. She even gets it from her own family. But guess what? She fuckin' EARNED it. She did have an "under-privileged" life. Her family WAS destitute. Her family WAS abusive. But that didn't stop her! Wanna know why? Because she's fortunate enough to live in a country where she make make her life as healthy and as thriving as it could possibly be.

Guess what?

YOU ARE TOO!

No matter what your background is, no matter what troubles you've been through, you CAN make your life a happy, long, successful one!

So instead of harassing people about "privilege", stand up and do something!

I called up the College of General Studies at Pitt to double check with them about my transcripts. I rushed delivered them on the 2nd, so they definitely should have been there a while ago, but they were adamant about not having received them yet.

But today they tell me that it looks like I’ve never even applied to the school.

WHAT THE FLYING FUCK, I MEAN REALLY

I was applied the other 4-5 times I contacted them. What the hell happened? If it’s a matter of not wanting me, you would think they would have the courtesy to contact me at least by email. But how they hell would that be an issue? This is a community college-esque program that only offers like, 10 classes, and I’m only trying to go as a guest!

It’s probably just a matter of they need to get their shit together. I sent them my transcripts and some stupid paper with a signature on it, both of which they deny having, and now all of a sudden I’m not even applied? Uh, hi, I paid $45 dollars to apply! My bank statements show it and I have a confirmation email from them!

This is just super aggravating. I mean, don’t mean to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty damn smart. I have an IQ of 154. I was in gifted classes for my accelerated knowledge. But this whole not being in school thing is making me look like a dumbass who has no motivation to the rest of the world. Even worse, I look like that to my parents, I’m sure.

If I had control of these kind of things I would have never left Cali prematurely and I’d be there, starting new classes. But I had no control over my cousin relapsing on alcohol, making my home in Cali dangerous. I had no control over my stupid trust lawyer ignoring my countless requests to pay my tuition for another semester of school. And now I have no control over the CGS suddenly dropping me from their applicants list.

I miss school so much. I love to learn. I really do. I also miss choir and band classes. I miss musicals and plays. I miss having an artistic and musical output. I don’t function well unless I’m actively learning or expressing myself through those means. I was really looking forward to going to Pitt, even if it was just a semester. But now I may have to rot for another few months. Maybe I’ll try online classes, I dunno.

I’m going back to California this winter and that’s final. ‘cause even if I don’t get into CSUSB for the Winter semester I can at least fall back on AHC and keep trying to transfer in the meantime. I can’t handle vegetating anymore.

This is just really upsetting me, y’all…
