Well, this is embarrassing!
General | Posted 12 years agoOops, I just realized I posted not one, but three chapters in The Changing Times!
Well, I guess that's all for that book.
I'll be slicing and dicing it, and posting it up in proper individual chapters.
Next week is the complete version all in one file, then I'll have to rush to get the next story ready...

For Those Who May be Interested in Such Things as History
General | Posted 12 years agoThis is likely the only 'real life' TV show you'll ever catch me watching!
Produced in the UK, Edwardian Country House was the inspiration for the setting of The Changing Times. The worst part was that I had to cut out many of the most interesting parts of the setting, lest people think I was making up silly things!
Sadly, the first episode has been removed.
A quick primer for the show: A team of volunteers live for four months in the style of a grand manor house of 1900. Those of the ruling classes rather enjoy it, those in the 'downstairs' not so much.
The butler might not be a perfect match, but he does have a few similarities with someone I could name.
Yes, you know you're a geek when you'd rather watch a show like this than the latest Survivor!

A Pretty Good Likeness
General | Posted 12 years agoI have no idea where this is from, but it just reminds me too much of Jon/Forty-Two not to post.

Cute isn't normally my thing, but this is worth the exception.
Perhaps it's whet people's interest in Police Dog 2...

Well, this is awesome!
General | Posted 12 years agoHey folks,
fyrdawg just posted a couple of stories about The Hunters universe. I've got to say they're really good, and frankly I think it's awesome he wrote them!
Fair warning though, these show the darker side of V-town. They are somewhat graphic, so consider them adult material.
For those of you wondering who the characters in the second story are, you'll just have to wait and see...

So a big thanks to one good dawg. I love it when people can help me flesh out my worlds.

One-Hundred Posts
General | Posted 12 years agoWell folks,
Here we have it, one-hundred posts. Huh, took me just about exactly a year.
I wasn't sure quite what I was doing when I starting posting Tommy's story last August, but I think things have gone rather well. I hope you've all enjoyed by writing so far, and we'll see where it goes from here.

Next Up...
General | Posted 12 years agoHey folks,
Just thought I'd put out a thanks to all those who've read, faved, and commented. It's much appreciated!
We've got few things coming up in the next few days.
1) I've just about hit one-hundred submissions. Heh. Hasn't even been a year yet and I'm already in the triple digits.
2) I'll be going back to my Monday/Thursday posting schedule. I tried switching with The Diplomats, but it didn't do much for my view count.
3) You'll be seeing a bit of filler, but shortly I'll be starting my next full length book, The Changing Times. The story follows a young man in Edwardian England. He gets a bit more than he bargained for when he becomes the patron of an eccentric scientist...
Other than that, I've got two major projects on the horizon. I hope to have them ready to post soon...

Forty-Two Making a Cameo in Another Story
General | Posted 12 years agoHi folks,
Just letting you know that feralfrenzy approached me some time ago requesting permission to use Forty-Two from Police Dog in his current story The Agent.
For any of you interested, the story is coming along nicely and well worth a read. Click the icon below to go to his page.

feralfrenzyDecisions, Decisions...
General | Posted 12 years agoHey folks,
We're close approaching the end of The Explorers, and the time has come for me to decide on what next to post. Decisions, decisions.
I've got multiple stories I can put on the block next. It all depends on that you're most interested in.
1) The third book in The Hunters series
2) A story about a young man in Edwardian England who goes through a... peculiar transformation
Or, some non-furry stories:
3) The sole RCMP officer in a small northern Canadian town has to deal with xenophobia after the events of 9/11
4) A well to do private investigator gets entangled in a satanic plot to... prevent the end of the world?
I'd have to find another site to post the non-furry stories through.
And once again, a big, big thanks to those of you reading and commenting. Perhaps, with a little help, you'll see me in print one of these days!

Keeping to a Schedule
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, it had to happen eventually.
Eight months with (almost) no interruptions in my posting schedule. I won't be available to post tomorrow evening, so please enjoy an early update!

Next Up, The Explorers
General | Posted 12 years agoHi Folks,
Starting tomorrow I'll be posting The Explorers. I doubt it'll be a surprise to anyone to hear it's a direct sequel to my first story, The Hunters.
You'll see the return of Tommy, English, Jon, and Rebecca, not to mention some new faces.
This story will have it's moments, but it won't be as dark as Police Dog. I hope you enjoy it.
Let me know if you have any questions left over from The Hunters and I'll try to get them answered.

Personal Milestone
General | Posted 13 years agoOkay, it isn't much but I'm smiling.
My first submission to hit one-hundred views!
It may not be much as compared to some folks who get view counts in the thousands, but it's an all time high for me. Police Dog Chapter 1 just hit the triple digits and I'm smiling.
All it took was a little help from da_boz to get it there.

Final Piece of the Police Dog Puzzle
General | Posted 13 years agoAnd there it is, folks. The last piece of the Police Dog Puzzle has fallen into place, and it is awesome.
Thanks to Boz I now have a much, much better cover for the book. You may have to F5 your browser to see it, but it's there and all the files have been updated.
And a reminder to those who are reading, I'm running a contest on the story.
There is one chapter that was written (almost exactly) a year after the others. To the first person who can guess right I'll write you a personal short story (upto 5,000 words) on anything you like as long as it's PG-13.
Please hold on until I post the last chapter of Police Dog, then guess away.
And thanks to those of you who nominated me in the Ursa Major Award. I'm not holding my breath to win, but it's a start!

Off Hunting Again... This Time For a New Type of Prey
General | Posted 13 years agoHi folks,
On the suggestion of Zelosh I'm putting The Hunters up for the Ursa Major Award.
The closing date for nominations in the 28'th (this Thursday). I would really appreciate your help!
I've never put up a story, much less a full novel, for anything like this. So I'm taking baby steps here.
If you have a moment to drop by their website and add your nomination to mine it would really make my day. I'm not expecting to win (I'm not even on the suggested reading list) but we all have to start somewhere.
For those of you who've never heard of them before, the Ursa Major Awards (a.k.a. Annual Anthropomorphic Literature and Arts Award) are a group who select the best in anthropomorphic arts and fiction. There have been some great books listed in the past, and it would be an honour to be among them.
Thanks!
http://www.ursamajorawards.org
All you have to do is click 'Nominations for 2012' and create an account. It's pretty painless.
Use the following line under the 'Novels' section:
The Hunters by wwwolf (Internet, October)
Thanks for the suggestion, Zelosh!
Self promotion is one of those arts I've yet to learn. So if you have any ideas to help bring Tommy, Crit, and Forty-Two to a wider audience, I'm all ears!

How Best to Post Long Stories?
General | Posted 13 years agoHi folks,
Just wondering about the best way to post long stories.
Right now I'm converting them to PDF and posting chapter by chapter twice a week. In the body of the submission I include a brief synopses of the story and/or chapter.
I then repost the complete story again at the end.
Is this the easiest way for you to read them?
I know some authors put their stories in the body of the FA post, but I find them hard to read that way.
Also, how about the length of my chapters? I could post more frequently, perhaps every other day, if I cut each chapter in two.
Thanks.

Technical Difficulties... Please Stand By
General | Posted 13 years agoFor those of you who are interested in such things.
I was planing to begin posting my story Police Dog starting this Wednesday, but I've been delayed.
Instead I'll be posting a full length sci-fi survival story entitled Little Brother to a Lion. Hope you enjoy.
