I have a new FA account: www.furaffinity.net/user/netherden/
Posted 10 years agoWhen I created my new business back at the beginning of 2015, I changed over everything to my new name, Nether Den Studio (or Nether Den for short), except my FA account.
I wasn't going to bother making a new FA account, but I keep seeing my stuff pop up on blogs with credit to "Wynderkind" and linked to this account. Therefore, in a move towards complete consistency and to avoid any possible confusion, I have made a new FA.
There is a little crossover between the two accounts, namely the last 5 masks I have made are posted on both, but from now on all of my new stuff will be posted at www.furaffinity.net/user/netherden/
If you have enjoyed my work then please head on over and give me a watch!
This account (wynderkind) will no longer be updated.
Thank you all for your support!

Realistic Fox Partial Auction with FREE custom airbrushing!!
Posted 11 years agoUpcoming Customizable Realistic Fox Partial Auction
Posted 12 years agoI have been mulling over what direction to go in with the "other" fox blank I have been making, and I have decided that I will auction it in late October as a customizable partial starting at $700.
What this means is that I will make the head with plain white fur, and the auction winner will dictate the colors he/she would like it to be airbrushed. I will even make new custom ears for it. Basically everything would be changeable, aside from the eyes and jawsets which are already in place and not removable.
Handpaws (elbow-length) and tail (between 2ft-4ft length) would be included in the price, and will be made post-auction for the winner according to their specifications of color and style.
Stay tuned for updates on this project.

UPCOMING AUCTION: SILVER FOX PARTIAL [APRIL 2013]
Posted 12 years agoUPCOMING AUCTION:
Are you or anyone you know interested in wearing a gorgeous silver fox to AnthroCon this year?
Pics: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/.....p;l=e9083aede5
As planned, I will be selling my personal silver fox partial this spring. The auction will go live in early April - about a month from now - and will last for two weeks. The lot includes the mask, handpaws, and tail which were worn by me briefly (about six hours) for one day at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival in October 2012 and everything was cleaned/refreshed afterwards. Therefore, the partial is being sold as "like new" and the opening bid will be $600.
The mask is constructed on a lightweight resin underskull, has excellent forward "tear duct" vision, red/gold glass taxidermy eyes, a moving jaw, and taxidermy-style jawsets. It comfortably fits a 23" head (mine) but has enough extra fabric on the hood to accommodate up to 27" around if need be. Glasses may be worn beneath (mine fit under just fine). The hood zips up in the back. I will adjust the chinrest height to the buyer's face prior to shipping for optimal jaw movement.
The handpaws include securely-attached silicone rubber pawpads and resin nail claws. They fit a hand length of 7", a hand span of 7.5", wrist circumference of 8" and a forearm circumference of 12". That said, if the buyer's hands/arms are bigger, I can make new handpaws in this exact same style to fit them for a small extra charge of $50 (1/2 price) and one week of construction time (if the buyer does pay the reduced price for new handpaws, I will keep the originals).
The tail, of course, will fit anyone. It is 2.5 feet long and has two elastic belt loops.

This month, I will also be doing a Mask Blank Casting Tutorial and a Mask Underskull Tutorial on the Facebook page as well.
Other news - I am attached as Head of Make-up on an independent horror film shooting in Louisiana this spring. This is BIG NEWS, as that is the highest position in my profession and this will be my first time doing it. The movie is called The Dead Reckoning and it's a zombie western set in 1881. Basically, some outlaws - during the course of their crime spree - murder a Choctaw Indian village. The village warriors are raised from the dead by their shaman's curse, and they seek to take the scalps of the outlaws for revenge. Pretty cool stuff. It stars Robert Leeshock (Earth: Final Conflict) and Jason Carter (Babylon 5).

Need Everyone's Help ASAP! Just a few clicks, please!!!
Posted 13 years agoAs you all may or may not know, I am a working professional special effects make-up artist for TV/Film. The small New Orleans SPFX company I work for, Changeling FX, has entered into the running to be considered for one of twelve $250,000 grants sponsored by Chase bank at www.missionsmallbusiness.com
We need 250 votes to qualify for consideration. We have 199 so far and we need to get the other 51 before the end of the day on June 30th (THIS Saturday!!). That's only three days!
Please help! It's really easy:
1) go to https://www.missionsmallbusiness.com
2) click "log in with Facebook"
3) using the search option, search for the business name "Changeling FX"
4) click "Vote"!
Thanks to all of you! I have 300+ watchers, so hopefully at least some of you have Facebook and will take the two minutes to vote! <3
If we get the grant, we are planning to expand our shop and build resources for the local film industry and community, including a library of books/media and a meeting room.

Ear Tutorial on my Facebook Page + News
Posted 13 years agoWhile I was gearing up to make Fiagai's ears, I decided to make the process it into a tutorial. Most of the steps have been posted already and I should be finishing up in the next day or two.
Link to Ear Tutorial album on my Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?.....p;l=ae9a41fb1c
As for news/updates: Ferran, Kinjry, Miles, and Duskmane were all completed and shipped in the first quarter of this year. The only commission I have left to complete is Fiagai (silver fox), and I am trying to finish him before the end of June.
Regarding opening for commissions, I have work coming up on two films and that will keep me busy until August. I am planning on going to DragonCon in September, so I will be spending August and September making my costumes for that (Bellatrix from Harry Potter and Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). So the earliest I will be taking any new furry commissions will be October, and I will likely only take one person because I have two jobs and it's really difficult to find time to work on commissions without burning myself out. I'd rather get one person a suit in six months or less rather than two or three people getting theirs after waiting a year or more (voice of experience)!

FINALLY getting to the end of the commission list
Posted 13 years agoHello everyone,
I haven't been on here in a LONG time, as I mainly use my Facebook page. However, I figured it was time for an update.
I'm nearly done with the queue of commissions I've had since June. I should never have taken so many at once and I'll not be making that mistake again. As soon as I've completed everything before the end of February, I'll post pictures in the gallery here.
On the subject of future commissions, I was originally just going to take a break from this after being so disappointed at the time it took to finish the last batch. However, I realized that my problem probably lies in the fact that I took a batch in the first place. So, when I open again for commissions, I will only be taking ONE AT A TIME. Yes, one. That way I can focus on just a single project and if there are real life delays then it won't be nearly as big of a problem.
That said, I am open for quotes. I will probably be reopening for commissions in May 2012 due to a movie coming up that I will be working on for the next two months.

I much prefer to use Facebook (frankly, I really don't like using FurAffinity or DeviantArt anyway), especially since I'm on Facebook pretty much every day. If you "like" my Facebook page, you can expect more frequent updates, more details/links/pictures, plus better communication with me if you have any questions.
However, please do not request commissions using Facebook. Please please PLEASE use my e-mail. Also, if you have any questions about a commission that I am working on for you, please continue to keep that correspondence to my e-mail as well.
So I will continue to update FA and DA, but it will only be for very major updates. And please DO NOT send me NOTES on FurAffinity or DeviantArt. I HATE their messaging systems. Any notes sent to me will likely not be answered right away, plus are at a huge risk of being read once and then forgotten.

Red-Eyed Black Panther Auction this week!
Posted 14 years agoI'm finally (FINALLY) putting the ears on that red-eyed panther - plus the other finishing touches - so it will be going up for auction on Furbid tomorrow! I'm going to have it up from August 31st through September 7th.
Opening bid will be $550 USD for the head ONLY. Modifications to the head can be made for an extra charge - I'll have to quote specifics.
I do have enough fur remaining to make a partial, so if the winner wants any additional parts (gloves, tail, etc.) after the auction concludes, they will have to get a quote and pay the extra cost.
Please be aware that payment will be due via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction ending to secure the item. :)

Starting work on everything (updated)
Posted 14 years agoSo I've slowly begun working on everything...
Stuff I'm going to accomplish over next week:
Ferran - fix jaw
Kinjry - machine sew tail
Duskmane - leggings and sleeves
Miles - mask underskull + teeth, maybe painting/inserting eyes if I have time
Fiagai - working on (and hopefully completing) sculpture of fox mask blank
Red-Eye Panther - add ears
I am going to try the whole work-on-everyone's-stuff-together thing and see how that goes.
Commissions are closed, likely until November 1st. My current commissions will be done between October 1st-15th.
In further other news, I'm going to be doing SPFX work on two movies over the next several months - a zombie flick and one with the devil in it... this is the reason that I'm not sure when I'll be open for commissions again.

Crazy Busy
Posted 14 years agoI'm working two jobs to catch up on expenses, so the progress on the commissions will be a bit slower than I formerly anticipated. However, I still fully intend to be done with everything by late Sept or early October.
For those of you who may not be aware, I actually am a special effects make-up artist for TV and film - one of my current jobs is working with a local SPFX company on two (maybe three) films.

Leaving Canada Tomorrow
Posted 14 years agoThe auction pieces for Duskmane are done and shipped.
I will probably be offline until August 7th due to moving.
My August Queue is full and I am starting to fill the September one.
August Queue:
Ferran (grey wolf) - repair head & paws
Kinjry (cougar) - finishing touches on head, finish sewing torso, resew tail
Duskmane (black wolf) - sleeves, leggings, and feet
Miles (mutant maned wolf) - (pending payment) head, handpaws, tail
September Queue
Fiagai (silver fox) - (pending payment) head, handpaws, tail
And, yes, I am still intending on auctioning the redeye panther... I've just been crazy-busy. It will be auctioned in mid-August after I redo some interior work on it and finally give it ears.

Red-Eyed Black Panther Auction + general update
Posted 14 years agoWell obviously I didn't get done with the cat when I thought. I've had a few issues this week (preparations for moving) that have interfered greatly with having time to work on commissions and that auction piece.
However, I am still going to get everything done over the next week that I said would be done in Canada, including finishing and shipping off Duskmane (a HUGE apology to his buyer due to the delays...). Duskmane's tail is totally done, but I need to finish the paws...
The Red-Eyed Black Panther will be finished this weekend and then auctioned for two weeks. The opening bid will be $550 USD for the head and the item will be shipped from within the US (state of Louisiana). I have enough material to make handpaws, a tail, and maybe feet - all of which will need to be ordered separately by the winner if they so desire. Please be aware that I cannot make bodysuits, as I do not have the know-how or the space at this time...
