So my Boogie Baby can see! Her first vet visit went ok... got both good and not so good news. She is 3lbs, has a little heart murmur, and her eyelids are a mess. She's not blind but the calicivirus that gave her a URI and conjunctivitis when she was 4 weeks old also caused her main eyelids to fuse with her 3rd lids and as the swelling went down it caused her eyes to pinch partially shut. We have an ophthalmologist appointment scheduled for the end of the month to see if it can be corrected with or without surgery.

So i'm asking anyone who reads this to please share this journal so i can get some traffic on my toyhouse shop and kofi page to help me afford her imminent vet bills. It would mean more than i can express.

Weeks ago I had a strange floater in my so I went to the emergency room at Mass Eye and Ear to make sure my retina wasn't detaching because I'm a poorly cared for type 1 diabetic.. and yesterday I had a follow-up appointment with one of the top doctors at Mass Eye and Ear.. he let me know my endocrinologist drop the ball on my care and I now have severe diabetic retinopathy. Basically my vision will not be getting better. I'm going in next week to have my peripheral vision burned out by laser in my right eye to preserve what Vision I do have and the week after that I will be getting the same treatment in my left eye. After that they are going to wait and see if I will need injections into my eyeballs every 2 months to reduce the swelling in my retina. I'm extremely upset.
Commissions are on hold for the foreseeable future. I'm going to be putting out adoptables and selling off stuff in my toyhouse to provide for my blind kitty.

Basically opening my toy house up for offers. Everything except for my mains. I will be extremely picky as I love all my characters. A few of them I will decline selling (🔒) because they may not be main sonas but they are very important to me.
Why am I doing this you may ask? My dad found a litter of sick kittens with their mom over the holidays while I was visiting and I fell in love with a completely blind little orange bean. Her name is Boogie (she sneezed in my sister's face and it wasn't very lady like LOL) The little gremlin wormed her way into my heart and I finally convinced my mother to allow me to bring her back home. Veterinarians in my state cost an arm and a leg so I need to start saving now before she shows up.

... But on the 4th, while i was staying with my sister in Kentucky for a few weeks, her husband went off camping by himself (as he often does) and we lost touch with him for 20 hours. My sister slowly boiled from anger to panic mode as he never goes quiet like that. She contacted the state police and park rangers and she and my dad took off to find him.
Over the next few hours he had managed to hail a mother and her 2 kids on the road and contact my sister, the police, and an ambulance.

He had taken a bad high fall in the woods at night, breaking his arm, clavicle, and his neck (C4). He miraculously managed to drag himself back up to where he had been camped out the night before and then back through the woods to the road without paralyzing himself, where, thank goodness, a woman stopped and let him use her phone and sat with him until help arrived.
He is currently in the UK Trauma Center where he faces either being placed in a halo and/or surgery to stabilize his neck.

Family friends have set up a few gofundme's to help with medical costs and family expenses as he was their sole source of income. I'm currently staying with them to watch the 3 kids and flock of pets to do what i can around here.
I never ask for much from the community, but if you could, just a few dollars to help them out would really go a long way. He has months of recovery ahead of him.

Sorry for no art lately.

I'm moving home for the first time in 35 years. We have a week and a half left to move 3 decades of stuff out and nowhere to move it to. The trailer in a 55+ community we were looking at fell through after they said no to me living there to help my mom with Smokey bird and housework.
I have so many things i just can't part with and i'm in panic mode with it all..
