Progress!... sorta
General | Posted 17 years agoOk, fine, don't answer the question in my previous journal. I see how it is!
XD Nah, it's alright, I still <3 you guys.
Though, I should mention that things are coming along slowly otherwise. I think I caught the groove for Clyx again, but the words aren't flowing as smoothly as required. If the words don't flow, I don't get far. Maybe in another day or two once I get my bills paid.
And for those of you who might be waiting for the next Kimi (yes, I can hear loads of clamoring for me to do more from my fans... in my mind... all by myself...), it won't be coming until after the next Clyx chapter. Even if I write it ahead of time, it's not coming until then. Now that Kimi has been introduced in all her glory, I want to alternate chapters. At least, that's what I tell myself.
Does anybody actually read these things? >. >

Daerms
General | Posted 17 years agoFufu...poo... 3 pages of the next Clyx over the past week is such bad progress and the same languishment goes for Kimi (only the number of pages = 0). So, I'mma doin a journal! And today's topic is:
Dreams! Because I have so friggan many of them. I decided to try and organize them into categories.
Video Gaming
Probably a result from playing too many, these dreams are effectively being inside a video game. Unlock levels, level up characters, find loot, unlock secrets, etc., all in a first/third person perspective and real-world graphics. These are fun, especially when you remember "playing" the game before (even more fun when you've actually had the dream before), so you know what to do ahead of time and can progress even further than last time.
RPG
Slightly different from Video Gaming, these dreams don't unlock stuff or have levels. It's purely leveling up, finding better equipment and fighting monsters. I remember one dream where I was a rogue with a dagger and was trying to stab a bunch of succubi in the back (and I rarely play rogues, and I've never fought succubi before XD).
School
This can be a love/hate (mostly hate) kind of thing. Back in school (I have since graduated from college), these dreams sucked because all they were was missing due-date, doing homework, trying to find a good dorm-room, and being lost in the halls of a new building. Now I've been having dreams of returning to high school after going to college. It's wierd. One time I went back to the fourth grade (and back in an 11/yo body) while retaining my knowledge of the future, but that might not count. This does not include dreams that happen at school, only if there's work/learning involved (like, last night's running from human-Cylons XD).
Action
# running from Cylons. Also includes: fighting off bug-like aliens, anything related to DBZ, jumping for cover from explosions, etc. More often than not these are fun.
Flying
One of my favorites. Personal flying. Sometimes this uses mechanical things, often resembling bicycles, but it's even better when you're using your own superpower to do it. I don't recall many where I've actually flown around much (except in Lucid dreams, below), these mostly involve learning to fly.
Traveling
Going from point A to point B. These can sometimes be a real pain in the ass, especially when it involves driving. You rarely get to your destination without problems, and if you happen to manage it, the dream fizzles out.
Exploration
The better version of Traveling dreams. Finding secret pathways in buildings is awesome. Exploring new planets or fantastic forests are also cool. This is probably a sub-category for School/Video Games and other things, but I feel like it was different enough to note it.
Mall
I have no idea what's up with these dreams. I barely go to malls a few times a year. Yet, I manage to have plenty of dreams that take place in gigantic malls, filled with stores, that I run and play through, doing all manners of things.
Twisted Home
This is probably the most common that I can recall. Also includes Grandma's place where you spent much of your childhood, these dreams involve the usual home, only with severe differences. Extra fields added to the backyard, monsters of all sorts roaming about, backyard full of snakes, extras rooms added to the house, or even the base of operations for a water-balloon war. Last night there were these scary trees that were sentient and closing in, but at the last moment I talked with them about something and they turned into beautiful flowers, beautiful creatures in my swimming pool, and lots of other cool things.
Fast
This might be a personal thing, and relates very much to Flying, but dreams where I go fast are awesome. They're often cases of running (sometimes even dropping down to all fours and bolting), but there have been cases of moving so fast that time slows down (me speeding up as opposed to everything else slowing down, there's a distinct difference in feel).
Sex
Obligatory. Fondling, peeping, tentacles, masturbation, whatever. Need I say more?
Romance
Coming across your soul-mate or something. It feels so fulfilling to be with this person that you just wish you could bring them back to the real-world with you as you wake up. I've tried doing that many, many times, with no success : /
Black and White
I thought this deserved some mention, even though I have never had them. I was absolutely surprised when I heard people have dreams without color. I even had a friend who had only black-and-white dreams. Amazing. With all the manga I read, I figure I would have had one by now, but no. Maybe that's a good thing?
Inane
Despicable. Having worked your mind off during the day, these dreams only continue the torture by trying to figure out some mathematical puzzle or deciphering a code or doing some repetitive, mundane task. Even if you figure out the solution to that mathematical problem, you wake up to realize you weren't even using actual numbers to begin with.
Disaster
I don't really have real-life experience with massive disasters, but my dreams sometimes like to think otherwise. Most often scary, these dreams are looking out the window to see a massive tornado coming for your house, or a huge lightning storm threatens to kill at any moment, or even a nuclear missile landing near you. Often my only way out is through the use of Lucid dreaming.
Strange World
There are a few dreams that I don't even know how to categorize. I can recall one world that I entered a couple of times. Within it, I recall referring to it as the afterlife. It involved two islands floating against an orange sky, filled with buildings and streets. The islands were connected by a transit system that consisted of giant tongues running on cable-lines. One or two people could sit on a tongue and just wait as it takes you to the other island. There's other strange worlds, but that was probably the strangest I could recall.
Epic
These dreams can involve any of the other categories, and often more than one. You could write stories about these. Younger brother's girlfriend is the daughter to a demon, you go to make sure this demon won't harm your brother, turns out the demon got your favorite professor fired, you try to get to the demon but his fiendish-insane son banishes you to a world of darkness, you learn how to fend off dark creatures with mental abilities at an exhausting rate, finally a giant creature is about to overcome you when you *click* and transcend power, you confront the powerful demon and promise mutual annihilation if he doesn't set things right. You're a child in a run-down home, you feed the starving birds with some of your meager food, the next day one bird grabs you, flies you over a river to a small pipe, you shrink to only a few inches as you enter a world within the pipe, the world is full of anthro mice and frogs and birds and even mushrooms, the mouse you find attractive along with their entire village where you are visiting is having food trouble, you happen to be a shoe-in for a large race this world has that involves a sort of flying, there's treachery and secrets and sabatoge and a whole mess of stuff that follows. You find a book that is sentient and tells the story of how four girls brought the university to noteriety, after a few tests it flies you to an over-grown and abandoned section of campus, hundreds of flayed bodies are scattered across the ground and stuff into buildings, four of the freshest bodies are propped up in a sort of mockery to an actual memorial to the four girls, the book tells how these sacrifices are a part of some mystery to the death of those four girls, one of the bodies opens its eyes in horror, you are flown away in disgust and fear, you descend back on the main campus to be assaulted by campus police as you merely begin your journey of discovery to the university's horrid mystery. I can remember these dreams for years, I could even recite one from 13 years ago. They can be scary, romantic, exhilirating, thoughtful and so on. These are one of the best of all categories, imo.
Lucid
Not really a category of the dream itself, but how you approach the dream. Now, I don't know much about other people (I have some friends who can't, some who try, some who rarely can), but these are quite common for me. There's several stages too. First, there's the awareness that you are dreaming. I am probably aware of ~1/4 of my dreams within the dreams themselves. About half of those actually matter, as in I'll actually do things differently now that I know it's just a dream. Sometimes it means no worries about having sex or punching that dude. Sometimes it's breaking the dream-rules altogether. A higher stage, I've been able to pass through walls, dissipate disasters, take a bullet, jumping/flying away, etc, by invoking a sort of glitch in the dream. The dream sometimes continues on as normal and sometimes I wake up immediately because it used too much real brain-power. And then there's times where I gain control of the dream. At that point, I usually don't have long before I wake up, but I can do things like summon a person before me, modify my body any way I wish, go somewhere nowhere related to where my dream currently is. Idk if there's any stages beyond that, but sometimes I feel like the next stage would be taking that control back to the real world (usually, trying to pull that soul-mate out with me).
Misc
Some dreams are so rare that I can't seem to categorize them. Such as: one time I died, went to a "waiting room" for some sort of heaven, ordered a certain combination of meals from a McDonald's there that allowed me to go back to my body, I remember being nude and muddy from leaving my burial and walking back through school, skipped ahead to find out I had died a second time by slipping in my own mud on the tile floor and came to life yet again after using the "cheat". I very rarely die in a dream, so this was quite a "treat".
Sorry if this journal was tl;dr, but I enjoyed mulling it over in my head ^^ I'm almost always interested in outside input, because I find dreams fascinating. If you think there's other categories, that means I might have never had that dream, and would love to hear about it ;) I think now I can go back to Clyx =D

Co-Reality Lucid Dream
I've carried on a dream through being awake beign (twice, one time). I've woken up to find myself twitching. I've altered my dream to my whims. I have never had a dream that I carried through at least 5 wake-ups, found my tongue moving in my mouth while my hips and fingers twitched, or managed to continue the dream after severely altering it for very long. Until today. Between when I woke up those many times and when I was asleep, there was a clear difference beween my senses, and I was well aware of it all. It's kinda hard to explain, but I think I managed to work around the mental build-up that goes with altering a dream. Every few minutes of in-dream time, I would wake up as normal for exerting so much thought over the dream. However, rather than stay awake, the time was used to "cool-off" my mind, so that I could go back to the dream close to where I left off and keep going. Once or twice I even saw a "please stand by" message saying "blah blah blah regenerating X type dream blah blah blah", where X was the type of dream. Due to the contents of the dream, I will not say what X was XD Anyways, wanted to get this down for possible future purposes.

Some questions for my readers.
General | Posted 17 years agoI completely forgot to post this journal before the big step with 24.2 x.o I wanted to fish for some feedback about some things as I headed into a new era of the Clyx series. So, here's some questions and feel free to answer what you like ^^ :
1) Any general responses? (okay, I couldn't think of a good first question to start things off :P)
2) Have things gotten stale? This is what I worry about the most, especially now that the series has gone on for over a year. I try to keep things interesting, but being on the creation side, it's hard to tell how stale or not stale things are getting.
3) Any strange fetishes you guys wanna see but haven't yet? I can get into a wiiiide range of fetishes, but there's always some I haven't considered. There are some I just won't do (like gore), but that's not for moral reasons but rather I can't get into it, so figure all suggestions are safe to share with me ;)
4) Any fetishes you guys wanna see more of? I have my own favorites, like hypertrophia and lactation and stuff, but even I feel like there's some things there could be more of, like transformations (ie, Coming Attractions style).
5) Is the style of story too hard to keep up with? I know there's benefits to keeping things "short and sweet", but I like having a setting you can really get into. Yet, this is already in my head, so I don't know if the chapter after chapter progression style works for everyone else.
6) Are there other places I should be posting this? I don't actually go looking for stories to read too often (I don't read much), so I don't know what kind of sites people use. If there's some sites you'd think Clyx would be suitable for, suggestions are very welcome (not that I won't be posting on FA, FA is always first and foremost in posting new chapters).
7) Are there any other questions I should be asking o.o?
