Time. Loss. Grief
General | Posted 16 years agoTerrence had taken a turn for the worse, he could had lost control of his bodily functions. I knew his time had come. I told mother, we tried to get him to eat but he could not lift his head up. We wrapped him up and took him to the vet, somewhere along the trip he lost awareness that we were there and stopped moving. He was still breathing as we took him inside the vet. Mother handled the papers as I clung onto him for what was his last moments.
The vet told us the procedure and what was going to happen, but I didn't listen. I had already lost a friend before. Around 5am today he breathed his last. Unaware, unsuffering and quietly.
17.5 years, good run for a cat.
Mother told me to remember him at his best. I will.

When the end draws near
General | Posted 16 years agoJust as a new addition comes into my family of cats... we are about to lose one.
Terrence, a cat I've had since he was kitten is showing real signs that his life is coming to and end. He's lost a lot of weight since the summer, his bones can be felt even with the most gentle of touches. He's not himself, he's been tired and might be in pain, even through he doesn't cry. He just cannot move like he used to, he can no longer climb up to places he used to. Mother considers putting him down before too long. Mentally I am prepared for this, emotionally I'm in pain. But until he cannot go on... He is 17 years old... that is a good run for a cat like him.
I know what will soon pass, but I don't want to go through the loss and pain again.
Time is the fire in which we all burn.

Lex's horrible car repair adventure! (long one)
General | Posted 16 years agoAbout last week... I had to go up to Seattle
The transmission in my car had died and would cost about $2200-2500 to get a new one. Why not just get a new vehicle for that price? I didn't want one. I like my car. I find it to be much better than some tiny Japanese built thing that you find on the roads these days. I tow those with my car. And if I could get a new car OR have it repaired... I'll just get it repaired. Why go so far away considering I live Battle Ground? Well, I did some searching and found a place on Craigs List and found a place that would do it for roughly $600. Not a new-new transmission, but one that was functional... in Seattle. Okay, I had the funds (almost) and a destination. It had been a week without my car and that week had been near hell. Sharing mother's tiny Tarus was okay. It's a good car, but I think I've been spoiled on the size and power of my Crown Victoria.
So last week Wednesday, after only 3 hours of sleep, I accompany mother to work on my day off, she drops me off a the U-Haul depot and I pick up a truck a auto-loader. It was my first time driving with a trailer in such a long vehicle... but despite being so gay and often girl-ish... I have testicles, I know it's know big deal and nothing to get worked up over like mother was. It's just that built in male thing. I sat in the cab, and drove off easily. Returned to Battle Ground where my car sat outside my house right where I had left it from pushing it back from the mechanic just down the road after he had told me the transmission was dead. I swung around to got the auto-loader as close as I could. Then realized... it was going to be a bitch and a half to get the actual car up onto loader. It took me several tries on my own before the two other guys part of a construction crew working on the house across the street came over to help me because I was more likely trying to kill myself more than anything else. With there help the car FINALLY was up on the loader. I had trouble getting out of the car once it was up. The doors didn't have room to open so I had to go out the window. We secured the car to the trailer, thanked them very much and started off. I did swing by Albertsons to pick up a case of soda, 5 hour energy shots and some snacks before I left town. I had to get used to the new weight on the trailer now that my car was on it. I hit the interstate and, try as hard as I like, could not go faster than 50. Now I was starting to get panic-y. Every bump, every odd noise I would look into the mirror to see if anything was wrong. This was my CAR that was at risk here. I had to stop at every rest stop along the way there. Not because I was tried or anything, the energy shots were keeping me up. It was because these U-Haul vans are so uncomfortable that my leg was falling asleep. Not a good thing when driving! It also gave me a chance for piece of mind, checking the restraints on the car, making sure everything was OK.
Going up hills was fine... going down them... I was that trailer's bitch. If it wanted to go somewhere, it was going there. I had to fight it not force me all over the road. The road conditions were getting worse the closer I got to Seattle. Bumpy roads, construction.. the whole lot. I began to wonder if they construction crews where actually designing roads to be more bumpy. Finally, I got withing 4 exits from mine. I could see the actual city... then I found my exit insanely placed on the LEFT. I made no friends getting over there. My directions were pretty good, I got all the way there. There was a bit of trouble, I was behind Boeing air fields in an industrial zone... the road signs there were sun bleached, dusty, rusted... and in my case, not even standing up. I had to back up out of a dead end... that was super-special-awesome... not. When I turned corner to my street I found myself in an alley. My "Aww SHIT" meter jumped up. The only reason I began to suspect I was even remotely in the right area were the high numbers other Crown Vics in the area. I parked where I wasn't going to be blocking anyone... and looked for something like a human being. I found some. It was hard to understand them through broken English as they were all from somewhere in the middle east, but they could not have my car fixed that day. At that point I thought I was screwed, this was my day off, I had work the next night and I had already spent this much time and money getting up there. I had to do it. Thankfully, I have a friend in Tacoma that let me crash upon their couch. I left my car there, wondering if I would ever see it again because nobody took my name, number or anything, just the keys. "You leave car here, come back tomorrow. Car will be fixed" Was the most I could get from anyone after I told them the transmission was dead. I got back into the U-Haul and started my way to Tacoma. I stopped at an AM-PM gas station to pick up a snack an fill the trucks tank as I was contractually obligated to. By this point all forms of energy shots had worn off and I think may have said some things to the point where now several people believe I am dead. But thankfully I'm not going back up there anytime soon, lets hope. I got to a U-haul drop depot, and was not even the least bit polite. I walk in, slam the keys on the counter "I am done with this." signed the papers and waited for my ride. We stopped at KFC because I was getting my appetite back now that the energy shots were gone, I feasted and chatting about life, then promptly fell asleep. 10 hours later I woke up, it was about 4am-ish so I played a bit of Pokemon Pear and watched some TV. I had forgotten what it was like to have TV and remember why I was in no hurry to watch it again in my own home... lots of stupid shit on that there TV channels. When the time was right, I gave the shop where I had left my car a call... no answer. I waited about an hour, try again. No answer. I'm never seeing that car again, am I? Half hour later, I try again before I start to panic. Answered. "Car ready, come get it!" The car was ready, I went to get it. I guided my friend's roommate who was my ride to the area, who agreed that the road signs sucked. As we pulled up I saw my car, no where I had left it. This was good, meaning it had been moved, worked on and parked there. I hoped. I got inside, had to wait a bit as the owner was busy. When he got to me, he took me over to my car, turned on the engine that sounded wonderful. He shifted into every gear for me, no horrible noises, everything sounded as if it was running perfectly. He checked a few fluids, added some and handed me my keys. "How do you wish to pay." Held out my card, he swiped it. "If anything goes wrong, bring car back, we make it right." He gave me a receipt and left me alone with the parting words "You have a very good car."
I got inside my car.
It felt fantastic to be sitting inside it again. I started the engine and slowly started to back out. Everything was quiet and smooth. It was quite possibly the happiest I had felt in a long time. I wanted to test it out carefully, slowly. I started on back roads, nothing wrong. When I hit the interstate heading home I was actually trying to stress it. Nothing I could do made the slightest bad sounding noise. I don't think I actually drove home... I flew. The car was running more smoothly than when I had first gotten it! The feeling to elation kept me going and awake more than any amount of energy shot could. I lasted all the way home and though work that night. I was broke, tired and not well fed. But at least I had my car back, and would allow me the freedom to fix those other two problems later.
It's been about a week now, while still mostly broke things have become easier not being forced to share one car. The car is running smoothly still, even so when I have my oil changed I'm going to have it looked at.
And that was my horrible car repair adventure!
The transmission in my car had died and would cost about $2200-2500 to get a new one. Why not just get a new vehicle for that price? I didn't want one. I like my car.

General | Posted 16 years ago1. What does your FurAffinity name mean and why?
Xanaiden? Nothing. I based it off XANA from Code Lyoko, just something to put in the box as I was giving FA a look. Never thought I'd actually be using it, but oh well.
Lexington Epsilon Greywinds, however does have a bit of meaning/history.
Lexington, was the name that came to me from my Therian side.

General | Posted 16 years agoHehehe...
Ever have just a long line of events that just seemed to be too perfect to happen, yet are? As if the universe just turned to look at you and instead of throwing all kinds of things to get into your way just goes "Nah, not today." And just lets the good things flow into you. Perhaps I'm just exaggerating, but DAMN today was a good day. And went I left the house I was filled with the usual thoughts of doom and gloom. Don't get me wrong. I'm not the emo type. In fact I can barely tolerate emo's and despise the whole emo mentality almost as I much as I do skateboarders. I always hope for the best out of each day, but found it better to prepare for the worst. Evens everything out in the end. Now, when I left the house I was running late. However, getting out of town I barely stepped on the break, all the lights flipped to green as I got near them. Driving conditions were perfect. Clear sky, surprisingly little numbers of drivers on the the road and again, sailed calmly through every light. I won't go into detail on most of this here because I would like to keep it off-line. But I will say I realized I had forgotten to do something, and due to the time I had made up with the perfect driving conditions I had just enough time to check my bank account, discover I had more money than I thought I had, swung into a gas station and took care of what I had forgotten after making a small purchase. Then arrived right on time to where I was supposed to be, then got a cookie. A few cookies actually. It was nice. The sunset was just that much more beautiful to see with a cookie.
Ahh... home now and my room is warm, safe and peaceful to be. Oh! And I got a free bottle of soda to pick up soon.

One Week (Failed, last one)
General | Posted 16 years agoWell, okay. I wanted to test myself to see if I could make a post for every day of the week and I have not been able to. So that would appear to be that.
Like say now, I gots nothing to write about.
I seem to have gotten more hours at work.

One Week (Friday)
General | Posted 16 years agoFAILURE! I wasn't able to get anything in on Thursday.
I suppose it doesn't matter because nothing happened anyways. At least I had nothing to write about anyways.
Today went by very well. I went to see Star Trek. I am actually quite happy to say was nothing like I expected and felt right. Okay, sure its nothing like we're used to but think about. Star Trek has been around for 40 years and had a steady stream of things come from it. The very fact that the name is still so very prominent in today life is quite a feat. And if this was a "reboot to the franchise" it got off to a good start. I won't go into anymore detail here because I try to avoid spoiling anything at all times.

One Week (Wednesday)
General | Posted 16 years agoWelll FRAK! I was hoping to get another good post in without trying to go all depressing, but today I got nothing.
So! I shall put as little emotion into this as I can.
Out a lot of money, but got all bill collectors off my back at long last.
Hours have been cut, but may finally be coming out on top due to last item.
That is all!

One Week (Tuesday)
General | Posted 16 years agoFor a day off, this was quite nice. I spent most of the day drawing and on Second Life. I seem to have gotten my artistic flow back... but no inspiration.
When I got off SL I was feeling sort of depressed. It seems my favorite series of either book or TV shows are dropping away one by one. Code Lyoko, Battlestar Galatica... there are no more Star Treks. Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles is at major risk of not returning this fall- as well as Knight Rider. While the new KK had a very bad start, it was finally starting to turn around. Even Scrubs is about to go away.
I mean, sure, there are shows out still like South Park, Family Guy and American Dad, but nothing with a story one can sink into and care/relate to. It's nice to have a story that one can look forward to. I was glad Battlestar ended, and ended well. As well as Code Lyoko. They didn't drag on and on.. but it's always sad when a story comes to and end.
I guess this is why I want to make a comic of my own, to create my own story to share with others... and hopefully give someone the enjoyment I get when someone shares a story with me. Meh... I dunno. Just thoughts
Thats it for today, I gots work tomorrow

One Week (monday)
General | Posted 16 years agoAlright, I am going to try something here as well as on every other blog-ish/journal thing I use.
For one whole week I will make a post per day.
I'm tried of letting time just lapse over making large gaps between posts. Also, I want to see if I can actually DO it, see what times work best and maybe, MAYBE find a good pace for posting.
It's only 52 mins into Monday so I shall declare this one for today. So... let us begin.
Today went by rather quickly after a rough night. I kept waking up dreaming of different things that I wanted/needed to do. Those kinds of things that could very well happen but you spoil it for yourself when to realize "This has to be a dream" within the dream. So that was me every other hour. Wake up, sleep, wake, sleep, wake up, drink, sleep until my phone goes off with my set alarm. Sunday/Monday mornings are always quiet nights with nothing happening anywhere. Working in security, I like quiet-nothing-happening-nights. It gives me time to think off to the side while I do my job. I came up with this goal somewhere during that time. As well as worked out this months needs and expenses... And with my cut hours, are not going to be pleasant. At least I got the damn bill collectors off my back once and for all. I should finally begin to show some profit and begin saving again. I'm tired to living pay-check to pay check. Hell, maybe I'll even have a little do go out and have fun at long last. Who knows, I may even see the sun once again!
I've been on Second Life a lot recently, its another way I express my artistic side- with building and such. But like all art forms... art block happens. I found myself, very unsuccessfully, trying to build a Star Trek starship all the while humming the Battlestar Galatica Colonial Anthem to myself. <b>._.;;</b> Ugh..
I was however able to build myself a home! ...As if I'll ever have the land to set it up anywhere. More and more I have people come up and tell me I should sell them to make the money to get the land... maybe they're right, but the whole process just sounds so troubling. Ah well.
Tomorrow is my day off, I'll be spending the day home. With no funds and only enough gas to get to work and back what else am I to do? I think when I wake up I'll play Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for a while. I still have my Genesis and game tape fully operational! X3 ORIGINAL SYSTEMS FOREVER!
Okay, I think I'll cut it here for today.
Lets try for Tuesday!

Spin up all drives, check connections...
General | Posted 17 years ago... and we have power! WOO! I just got my computer set back up and the net connected. It's not neatest computer arrangement I've done, but it will have to do until I can get my desk put back together. Keep'n it short. The move went well, everything arrived just fine. The new house is wonderful. I GOT MY FIRST CAR OF MY VERY OWN! More as I unpack and set up. Gotta find my speakers.... oh frak.
I died...
General | Posted 17 years ago... can you come to concessions?
General | Posted 17 years agoOookay. I'm a security guard. I am posted in random places. Yesterday, I was sent to a movie theater.
It was the single most oddest experience I've had on the job. I'm not saying it wasn't fun.. but I'm just glad I won't be there permanently. I mean, it was interesting to see how fast a 15 year old kid could run when I catch him and his friends trying to sneak in from the back. Through good luck, my uniform is completely black and I pull off the ninja bit quite well. When I noticed those three headed backing there I followed them, and the moment they tried to force the door I made my presence know. "Problem?" They all whipped around, saw me, and the one screamed "OH SHI-!* and took off like a bullet, completely abandoning his buddies. I took every last bit of mental power not to die laughing and hold my 'guard face' so I could deal with the other guys. I told them they could buy a ticket, or leave. They took the latter after their friend, but at a normal walk. Not long after I get a call on the radio "Security? Can you come to concessions?" This one had me worried, this was a high traffic area and if something bad were to happen people could get hurt. I hurried inside and stopped right were I was.
Darth Maul and a Stormtrooper.
I don't know why, but... I don't know. I found out later this was a stunt planned by one of the employees. Just for fun I suppose. But still. Masks in a business place, I had to keep an eye on them.
The whole night reminded me of http://concessioncomic.com/ One of my favorite comics and I can now say I'm pretty sure such odd things can happen in a theater.
I made some good hours there, I think I may come out alright this next pay check. Ever since another officer screwed up and lost the account which was my 'home' that displaced me I've lost a good number of hours. Slowly, I've gotten back up to the number of hours I was getting before. And with the family moving out in less than a week now and me getting my own car at the same time... I need those hours.
Once this move is out of the way things might finally return to something of being normal. And I'll be able to see my boyfriend more often, which will be good.

I'm a gay girly crossdresser!
General | Posted 17 years agoWell, I am. Somewhat.
I fail at making journal titles, okay?
This week has gone by fairly well. I'm trying to pick up as many hours as I can at work and fight back a on coming sickness. All this and I still have not packed a single box, and the move to the new house it very close! I'm going to be rushed I know it. Hopefully I'll be able to get some work done tomorrow since it is my last day of work this week. Then I get one day off, I kept on day off for R'nR.
That about it for here.

Oh my! Something not a meme!
General | Posted 17 years agoAlright, alright, alright! Journal time, it’s been like, since August since I made a real update and I’m tired of just posting meme. While I still have LOADS of them filled out and ready I actually have enough energy to write stuff. Let’s see…
First off, I got a job. I’m a security guard with a private company. In the beginning they posted in me in random places to get a feel for the different fields of security. I’m happy to have a job in these times and it something I actually like doing. Sure it’s not work in the computer field like I have studied for all these years- but hey! Gotta start with a first job sometime somewhere.
Second, I found love on Earth! ‘Nuff said. You’ll just have to ask if you want to know more. NOSEY!
Third, this summer I’m getting a car, I don’t know the full details, all I know is that it’s not that old, a Crown Vic, and I’m getting it for only $800. It’s just one of those things… first car… it may turn out to be a cheap car… but it will be MY car dammit!
In more recent news, it was my 21st birthday! It was the on the 25th of this month. I don’t really make a big fuss over such things because the past two years or so I just get depressed in the in. This year not so much. While a lot has changed within out group from school, and a few people absent or on the other side of the country, we got as much as the group together as best we could and had a fun night.
Whelp, that’s all the major stuff for now. Hopefully I’ll be able to start posting real journals at a reasonable pace as well as posting artwork.

Mah Birthday!
General | Posted 17 years ago... Tomorrow technically, but party was scheduled for today due to my work schedule.
I wish I had more time for actual journal updates!

To those who know me... are you surprised?

You dress to attract - (Yeah...)
You spend more time than economical on outfits - (Pick and choose, pick and choose)
You look in the mirror too much - (Brushing my hair)
You'd prefer others do the physical work - (More or less)
You act passive around new people - (I'm teh shyness)
An elaborate cocktail is YOUR poison
You explain sex as OTHERS doing it to YOU
Discreet earphones are better - (I like stealth...)
You don't like going too long without seeing a friend - (So I miss people, is that so wrong?)
You giggle - (A lot... Damn-damn-damn-damn) >.<
You wash and care for your hair (and heck why not, skin) daily or almost daily - (So I take 3 hour showers... Damn)
Two cute guys playing around is HAWT
Cute things in general are great - ("Oh that is CUTE! What is it?")
Undie shopping (especially with others) can be sooo fun - (... Damn)
The shoes you're wearing matter in relation to the rest of your outfit
You don't mind being touched gently - (I like gentle...)
You are unafraid of saying "FABULOUS" - (I try so hard to stop myself... but it slips out now and again)
TEH GUYNESS
You enjoy physical competition
You like to feel strong by helping or harming weaker people - (HELPING!)
Beer is your drink
Using words your friends might not understand is very uncool
Using sexual terms your friends don't know and explaining them is VERY cool
You will say "i had sex with/fucked..." instead of "we had sex"
Headphones that make your ears bleed are AWESOME
You have a working hand therefore you don't mind extended time alone
you laugh boisterously
Hairdressers FEAR YOU and your greasy boy hair
Two girls making out and doing inappropriate things with objects turns you on
You use the term "gay" to denote something unpleasant
'Street' and gang stuff and awesome graffiti any day
You are uncomfortable shopping for underwear, and do it conservatively
You watch sport on television often
NOW PEOPLE basic mathematics for you, there are not scores, there are percentages! Take your two totals... in my case
Girly 14
Boyish 1
And add them up, so 14 + 1 = 15
Now put them in this format
(one of the gender scores) / (total, in this case 15) x 100 = percentage that gender you are
Girly: 93.3
Boyish: 6.7
