Yeah, I have a deep dark secret - I draw mainstream furry art too. I post it in a separate account because I don't need to be ostracized IRL for what I post here. Although, lately I've been wondering if that would really be an issue. Seriously.

In 5 hours, my most recent picture on THIS account has received more views then my most popular picture on my account account received in a week. In 5 hours, this same picture has garnered more then twice as many faves as ANY of my other pictures in my mainstream account.

Well, my computer died. My work computer. Since I telecommute to work, i HAVE to get this back up. Since it is Christmas, I can't afford to. Sooooo, in order to offset the cost of what I'm going to inevitably have to pay to get things working again, I'm offering color commissions at $10 each, max 2 characters per commission. So yeah,  grrrwolf posted this question in his journal, asking what art programs people used for to do the digital part of their submissions here, and he got a lot of interesting responses.

So I thought I'd do the same and see what everyone who watches me uses. If any of you actually read my journals that is.

Me, I start with a blue-line sketch(okay, technically it doesn't have to be blue, but I like the traditional feel of it) in GIMP using a junky $50 tablet I bought long ago.

Save that to a .gif and import to Macromedia Flash pro 8, run through WINE, where I abuse Macromedia's vector graphics combined with my tablet to do black line art and "ink" it. Then it's save as a .png and back to GIMP.

Using magic wand with the sample merged option and about a bazillion layers, I do blocks of color, then eventually shading, most of which I use my tablet for. A bit of touch up work and some highlights, slap on my sigfile and then it's done.

Yay! So I finally got that picture of the stretching siamese kitten done. I didn't get as much feedback from everyone on what color it should be, but what little feedback I got suggested it be seal point, so that's what she ended up.

I finally got enough art done that I don't feel stupid putting some of my stuff into the scraps section, so if anyone is looking for initial sketches or half-done versions of finished pictures, that's where they will reside from now on...

Okay, I've been posting here how long and managed to overlook the fact that you can take commissions directly from FA? Okay, I'm gonna give it a try. If anyone wants a commission out of me, use FA's "send note" and tell me what you want. My commission info is now up! *glee*
