So where've I been anyway?
Posted 2 years agoHey, I'm sure any of you who have ever followed my gallery with any measure of interest have perhaps wondered where the heck I screwed off to.
Well, the long and short of it is that I burnt out on art, hard.
But I am still alive, and I haven't quit art for good or anything.
It's just been a long and difficult process to break through that immense roadblock, which I've worked through via sketches and other creative outlets such as beginning to stream on Twitch. (BeatSaber primarily)
This led to a slough of other related things such as learning to create a good stream setup, discord server arrangement, drawing emotes (not really the sort of thing I prefer to post here as of yet), and more recently, learning to 3D model so as to heavily remodel the free avatar I'd been using.
This has, of course, however stolen most of my time and patience and of course creative energy, so even after breaking some of the burnout, I've still not had any completed works to show for it.
That's not all though!
The reason I'm posting this is to mention that I have actually finally started making progress on the pending commission I've had for a rather long time (for a thankfully extremely patient person).
This means that there's a chance I'll get back to posting here after not too long.
You also might know that I don't really post sketches. Well, maybe not here but I've decided instead to post ones I deem decent enough, on my recently established Bluesky account. So if you happen to have an account there, feel free to peek in on that.
To conclude; while there are other projects still in line after the current commission, chances are I will - although I never technically closed them - actually be available again for commissions in the near future, all going well.
TL:DR; I'm alive, but I burnt out for nearly a year and have been extremely busy with streaming and other projects,
and have a Bluesky account now that I'll likely post sketches on,
and am finally getting back on track and am working towards being properly available again for commissions.
Until then however, thank you for reading, and I hope you all have the best of days.
❤Pricing and Profile Update
Posted 3 years agoHey again!
So I decided I'd change things up a bit with my commission prices.
I realized that, although applying costs to optionals is important for my sake,
my pricing structure was a liiiittle convoluted.
So, I've decided to make things a bit more straightforward.
Prices are now more front-loaded; base prices are higher, and optionals are lower.
Additionally, most cost-per options are now bought in a pack, I.E '$10 for up to 4'.
So hopefully estimating commission cost will now be a little less confusing.
I've also rewritten some of my profile description, but more importantly,
although it was already available, I've detailed that concept sketches are free!
As noted there, these are done as time and motivation permits,
and as the examples show, quality varies depending on the illustration intent.
Preferably, I'd only want to sketch for someone who is considering buying,
but I'm not adverse to negotiations on that matter.
So yeah, hopefully if anyone out there was hesitant to consider a commission,
this might help your confidence in knowing that you can afford it,
or that you can get a decent representation to gauge the investment.
For now though, I'll be off to my distractions again.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!
❤Status Update
Posted 3 years agoHey all!
I just wanted give notification that,
although I know my upload rate is already pretty dang slow,
it'll probably be getting even slower for a while.
This is not an intended break, nor is anything bad happening,
Just that I have a lot of time consuming things going on,
and drawing is pretty low on the priority list.
That said, any commissions that come along will be much higher priority
and I will still make time to complete them as necessary.
For now though, take care everyone!
❤Commission Availability Update
Posted 3 years agoIn light of prior burnout, and the 'priorities are elsewhere' profile message I've had,
now that neither of those are actively relevant, I should probably mention;
I am in fact fully available for commissions at the moment!
As always I try to be a safe space regarding strange or sensitive kinks.
Don't be afraid to inquire, I welcome all sorts of things!
You might even find it already listed in my commission info!
So yeah! Toss me a note or email if you or anyone you know is interested!
And even if it's not something you can afford, you're still free to inquire.
Thank you for your time. Take care out there everyone!
❤Back to Drawing!
Posted 4 years agoBreak's over! Or well, has been since yesterday.
There won't be any lewd art for around a week still however,
because I'm working on christmas cards for my family!
Those will still be posted here as it is still artwork of course.
So if you like wholesome cute stuff that ISN'T nsfw or otherwise lewd, look forward to that!
And of course, after that I'll be getting back into my usual stuff.
Possibly something christmas themed.
So, until then, I hope you all have a happy holiday, however you choose to celebrate it!
Take care out there!
❤A Little Break
Posted 4 years agoThat went well!
Given my hesitance, doing commissions actually went surprisingly well.
But, a lesson I've taken from it is that I really need to take proper breaks between them.
Because I didn't, I've come very close to burnout again, so I'm going to be taking a while to recover.
I don't expect it to be longer than say, a week, as there are a few pictures I'm eager to work on still.
My most recent commission is finished and just awaiting a response before I post it.
I don't know if this is a normal practice, but I prefer to give a chance, in case there are changes they want,
for the commissioner to approve their picture before I post it to my gallery.
That aside, I am still open to receiving commission inquiries during the break,
Wherein we'll discuss the picture concept, price, and I'll add you to the queue,
with the caveat that I wont be working on them until I return.
Until then, take care out there!
❤Commissions are (tentatively) open!
Posted 4 years agoSo, while I am still nervous about the whole thing,
and I do still have a lot of projects I want to work on,
I think I've finally found a spot where I feel confident in my work.
So with that, I'm opening commissions!
If you are interested in having one done, take a look through my commission info, here.
And please bear with me in that if you are one of the first to contact me,
I may have difficulty due to being unfamiliar with the process and being anxious because of it.
I'll do my best!
Until then, thank you for reading and have a fantastic day~
❤Inktober Closing
Posted 4 years agoAnd there we are! 31 finished pictures for the month of October.
A day late in starting, a few days late in finishing, but it's done!
Now that that's over with I'll be taking a short break to rest my.. Everything.
This has been a very exhausting experience, both mentally in terms of processing power, and physically from all the intense focus and hand usage.
(Though I did make sure to do hand stretches every so often so as to prevent carpel tunnel.]
That said, once I decide it's time to return, I'll be doing a few things.
First and foremost is that I'll be returning to giving my pictures color!
I'm not prepared to go back to full on, complex lighting and shading, but I'll be doing colored basic shading and linework.
This includes new and previous pictures, and possibly even commissions!
I'll adjust my commission info and make another journal when I've made a final decision on that.
Until then, I hope you all have a lovely day!
❤Re-Ignition
Posted 4 years agoSo as you may've noticed, I've started uploading again!
Someone introduced me to Inktober, and it seems it was just what I needed to escape the rut I've been in.
Along with breaking me out of the mindset that I need to release fully completed pictures to upload anything,
it's also letting me practice lots of things like transparency and deep perspective, as seen in Soul Frolic.
But most of all, it feels fantastic to be able to efficiently go from concept to sketch to clean, finished linework within a single day.
So at least for this month, you'll be getting lots of pictures from me!
There's also a good chance that I'll be coming back to some of these pictures and turning them into completed works!
On the topic of commissions, I'm still in a space of uncertainty around that.
If nothing else, these pictures will serve as examples of the Linework commission tier.
Though with that all said, making a picture every single day will be draining,
especially since I'm a day behind and am still trying to catch up on that.
So wish me luck that I don't burn out again because of it.
Thank you for reading, I wish you all a wonderful day!
❤Overwhelmed
Posted 4 years agoI think I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew.
My goal, is to learn to do accurate and detailed light effects, among many other things..
But I'm learning that in order to do that properly, I'm going to have to re-learn a number of my skills.
A lot of what my current techniques are either inefficient, or dead-ends that will create bad habits.
This, combined with the self-imposed punctuality I put on myself towards offering commissions soon..
It's messing with my head.
So.. In order to save my own sanity, I think I need to rescind the 'soon' in offering commissions.
I have no idea when that will change, but hopefully I can get things sorted out in reasonable time.
There will still be art, but it may come at an even slower pace than my already sluggish turn around. We'll see.
Until then, as always, to anyone who reads these, thank you for your time and patience.Status Update
Posted 4 years agoA bit of a late update, but here's to keep you all in the loop.
I'm currently working on my first commission!
To ease into things, I started with friends and people from a community I'm close with who had already shown interest.
Once I've finished with them, I will be opening commissions officially!
For the time being I've added a commissions section to my profile with a link to the info document I've made.
And of course, I will be making another journal when I do finally open commissions officially!
Note, it does include the email I will be using for contact, please do not try to contact me there until I've made said journal!
As usual, thank you all for being here, and thank you for your patience.
❤I'd like some commission advice.
Posted 4 years agoSo I think I've finally settled my mind for the most part on a price.
This is big for me since I tend to struggle greatly in applying monetary value to things.
I've chosen $50 as a base line for a single, full detail character.
I base this on prices I've seen, and the art quality associated with them, and what I feel I'm capable of doing.
I'm much closer than I expected to be, to the 'standard' my mind set for me so long ago, and I'd like to embrace that.
I'll understand if you all would prefer more examples of digital work from me before judging a price like that.
But otherwise I'd like your opinions on if that seems like a fair price.
I'd also like to ask the advice of anyone who is familiar with commission work. Either as a buyer or seller.
Are there precautions I should make? What sort of punctuality or communication standards do people tend to expect?
What are some extraneous details do you tend to find nice to have included in commission info?
Any bits of advice would be appreciated, as I'd like to make things smooth for everyone involved.
Thank you for your time.
❤Dry Spell Update
Posted 4 years agoHey again!
Just wanted to speak up n' keep you all in the loop.
The tablet has been ordered, and is scheduled to arrive tomorrow evening!
This unfortunately still means that the dry spell will continue as I try to get the hang of using the tablet.
But, as I mentioned before, any significant pictures that come from that will show up in my scraps.
Or they might even show up in the main gallery if I feel good about them.
Either way, thank you. Both for your patience, and for watching my gallery in the first place.
As mentioned on my profile, my art style is likely to change drastically as I explore the capabilities of digital,
and I already intend to branch out into new topics, either not yet, or rarely illustrated in my art thus far.
So I hope that in spite of this, you'll all still find something you like along the way.
♡PS; There will be an elaborate journal later on detailing the kind of stuff I have interest in drawing, need to practice, or want advice on. This stuff will be included later on in my commission info, when that becomes available, as I intend to list a special entry for subjects that help me do aforementioned practice.
Commission Hurdles
Posted 4 years agoSo it occurs to me that I should maybe give a little information regarding how I feel about doing commissions.
Well, first off, I do plan to eventually, but there are a few distinct reasons I'd rather not yet.
The main one is that I have a mental standard for myself that says that it has to be digital and of a certain skill level with digital before I'm 'good enough'. I'm aware that that's not necessarily true, but this is something I have to follow for myself.
The second is that I haven't been drawing anything more than sketches anyway, and don't plan on drawing anything more until I acquire the tablet in about a week from now. This is in part because I want to get this gallery in order before that happens, which will be a lot of work in and of itself.
And the final reason is that, I honestly have no idea what my work is worth, as prices can vary so wildly from person to person, and I'm not exactly well known. I hope you'll understand when I say I wont take just anyone's word on it either, given that not everyone is familiar with what it took to acquire such a measure of 'talent'.
I'll take this journal down when all that ceases to be relevant, and replace it with a commission model.
Thank you for your patience.
♡Dry Spell
Posted 4 years agoRepeating it here, since it occurs to me that on a very fetish-specific picture isn't the best place to announce something so general.
There is unlikely to be any more uploads for at least a week or two.
I'm in the process of finally getting an art tablet to make the transition to digital!
This means that once it arrives, I will need time to learn to use it and practice.
Some of that process may however appear in my scraps depending on how I feel about it.
I'll be taking that time prior to getting the tablet to actually tag and sort my uploaded pictures..
Until then I hope you'll enjoy what I've uploaded thus far.
♡Fetish Disclaimer
Posted 4 years agoThis is brought up more for sake of my peace of mind than anything.
However it is also because I want to clarify my stance on things.
I draw art - much like I do roleplay - as a window into a realm of fantasy
that often can not, or should not be expressed in real life.
A means to live these fantasies without the consequences involved in actually living them.
These are often things I would not want to actually express in real life.
So if you see me draw something that gives you concern,
please rest assured that none of it carries over to real life.
And that I would never encourage anyone to do these sorts of things for real.
