I have been working on a table top roleplaying game for the past few years, but I’ve been lurking and commenting still.

My game is almost done, and I am not working right now, so maybe I’ll write some more soon.

I hope you’re all well. I wanted to thank this community which has always been a place where I felt welcome and appreciated.

Hey, I'm working on a non-furry non-tf website project in my spare time, and I need to start getting some basic art assets together for some UI / UX elements. Since I know there are a ton of artists here, I wanted to reach out and see if anyone is open to those sorts of commissions.

I would need between 10 and 30 (potentially far more if things are working out) symbols and icons. Essentially these are little pictures / icons representing supernatural elements like the Elder Scrolls Schools of Magic (more detailed than I'm looking for) or the MTG color symbols. Flavor is not prescriptive, so in most cases you'll be able to choose whether you represent technological or occult motifs.

The website they are for is free and open source. The license would be non-exclusive and royalty-free. I will be able to display them in the interface of the website as well as crop/edit/resize to fit. I would not be able to resell them in whole or in part, and you would retain full rights to display, sell prints, enter into other non-exclusive licenses, etc. This would be a non-transferable agreement with me and only me, so you aren't giving access to the world. We can also discuss attribution / crediting in the website if you're interested.

Prices are negotiable, but I pay fairly. I'm looking for an artist with consistency, so someone who does lots of commissions would be ideal.

Over the past six months, writing has gotten more and more stressful. I’ve been writing more than ever, but I haven’t been producing any more than usual.


The truth is, I’ve been floundering. I’ve abandoned half a dozen stories in various stages of progress. Some are a thousand words in, others ten thousand words in. I never used to do this. I think the moment things changed was when I hit 1000 watchers.

It may seem arbitrary, but hear me out. I’ve always enjoyed writing TF stories. I like the subject matter, giving back to the community, choosing the right words, getting comments, etc. All that’s well and good for motivation, but I’m a very aspirational person. I always have to be improving and working toward some big goal, and I’m very disciplined.

For a while, the goal in the back of my mind was the 1000 watcher threshold. When I hit it, I asked myself what was next. More watchers wouldn’t work; I have this weird drive to always expand the scope of my ambitions.

Getting published seems like an obvious next step for me. I want the rush of competing against dedicated, professional writers, and I want to be able to show my writing to my friends and family (who know that I write a lot but have never seen any of it. . . ). Very recently, I’ve also realized that part of my drive to show published works (instead of any old thing) to my friends and family is because I’m kinda insecure and want the approval of a paying editor backing me up. But that’s neither here nor there.

I started writing to compete and for show, and I ran into this big obstacle that I overcame a long, long time ago with my NSFW writing: perfectionism. I let the desire to produce something “great” get in the way of producing something “good,” and it paralyzed me. I also found my self getting stressed about not posting enough NSFW content and letting down my watchers (which I know is silly).

I grew conflicted. NSFW writing is still enjoyable, but I don’t feel like I’m making any progress toward my “real” goals. This push-pull led me to start and scrap a variety of projects that I’m sure you’d all have been very excited about: a CYOA novel based on Looda, a sequel to Star Sex, a futuristic breeding program story, a sequel to quarantine zone, a body-horror TG story, and a few others.

Through it all, I managed to produce three stories: Mounted (the deadline made me finish it), Grand Karma (so thoroughly NSFW and strange that it was always a safe indulgence), and a very short SFW story that I’m submitting to publishers. I just started submitting it on Sunday, and I’ve already got my first rejection! xD Honestly, it’s not the lightning-on-a-page I think will sell super well, but I think it will eventually get picked up by a low-paying publisher.

Anyway, what’s the send-up here? I have no idea. I’m hoping that actually submitting a story to publishers will help me shift gears and make sense of the situation. I think the lesson I need to learn is one that I’ve been trying to learn for years: write shorter stories! Stick to one at a time and just write short ones. I can write NSFW and publish-hopeful stories if I just take on smaller projects.

So I’m making a commitment here to you all. I am not going to post any story longer than 5k words until I’ve published at least 5 short stories. The one exception is an upcoming collab I’m doing with demon-man (which is probably 8 months away anyway).

There's already a lot of new things ( in part thanks to a generous open-source contribution from  snowwhitecrowe ), but I'm taking requests as well! I always strive to produce my best work, and I will do the same for your story. Regardless of length, I promise to put as much effort into your story as I would one of my own (which is to say more effort than I tend to put into the captions / poetry on my profile).

Story can be SFW or NSFW, of any tone or genre.

I will not write: Underage characters in sexual situations, scat, sexualized violence/gore, copyrighted characters,

Intellectual Property Rights

Your rights: You may post or share the produced story, with proper attribution, publicly or privately free of charge.

My rights: I retain full rights to sell or distribute the completed work.

If you would like to work out a different contract, you can specify in the commission form under “Anything Else?” and we can discuss further.

How to commission me

My queue length is capped at a single spot. Each time I open commissions, I will keep them open for at least a week. If there is more than one commission request at the end of the open period, I will select one.

I reserve the right to refuse any commission or discontinue any ongoing commission (with a refund, if payment has been made) at any time for any reason. I will respond to all commission requests when a determination has been made.

Time

I do not make any guarantees on how long commissions will take to complete, but I do not generally work on more than one story at a time, so it will likely be finished within a month or two.

If delivery of the finished work takes longer than three months, you may cancel with a 75% refund.

This week I surpassed a thousand watchers over all the sites I'm on. I'm truly humbled and grateful to have received so much appreciation and support over the years. I wrote this sonnet as a little thank you to everyone who has made my time here such an excellent experience.



Of bodies chang'd to various forms, I sing,
as countless others have in history.
But which of them saw an erotic thing
in shifting flesh? It’s quite a mystery.

Tezuka stashed some transformation smut;
did Stein or Dhal or Ovid do the same?
Perhaps they guessed that there were others but
they knew no other souls that they could name.

And so in loneliness we’d too be cursed
if tech had not linked all humanity.
Instead our generation is the first
to test Indulging in this fantasy.

And even though our work is often quite taboo
I’m happy to be seeing yours and sharing mine with you.

The main character is struggling to achieve some goal, but another character is standing in their way. The main character cannot get around the antagonist no matter how they try. The main character is transformed. Their new form drastically changes their lifestyle / status / role in society. Initially the transformation seems to make the goal even more difficult to achieve, but the experience reveals a new path around the antagonist. This path was always available but not obvious to the character without a change in perspective / lesson learned. The character achieves their goal and adapts to a new normal with a new appreciation for their altered form.


Swap the antagonist out and put “the character thinks X is their goal but they don’t realize Y is their goal and they can reach by achieving Z” and you have like half my stories . . .

Maybe I need to try something new :/
