October Update
Posted a year agoBeen two months since my last journal @_@ been bad about posting but that hasn't stopped the art from flowing.
Since my last check in I have done a number of commissions for

I have done a ton of writing, my new Choose Your Own Adventure story over on CHOYA is more popular then I expected getting more likes and reaching as many favs as my Peach story in a third as many views O_O

Back Again
Posted a year agoIt has been a crazy few years.
First I had some medical problems where I went on a bit of a hiatus... then covid happened and I just had enough regulars and enough on my plate that I just let the keeping up with art posting slide. Then the whole AI art thing happened and that's when I closed most of my art accounts... not because I was specifically scared of AI mimicking my style, but kinda on a general principle thing... I don't really want to contribute to something like that...
Either way though I haven't turned down commissions since then, and I just now uploaded some selects from the last few years that I have done for various great people.
I have a bit more free time and some more open slots to go looking for more commission work and I may try and finish mongirltroidvania depending on how filling that extra time goes.

Posted 12 years agoIt's been a few years, but I am back, I have started posting some of my older commissions and works and will continue with that. I posted a bunch of stuff on art.xexart.com today and will be posting on my blog blog.xexart.com on a regular basis.
It has been a long time, but I have more time now, I had been spending about a day sometimes two on artwork commissions and about another day on my own stuff as that was all I could realistically give with the way my life had been going. But my day job (art director) has been cut down to two days a week. The plus side is I have more time for posting and doing artwork, the down side is I am going to be struggling to make the bills each month. I have a few commissions I am working on for Diosoth and within the next week I hope to update my shop at xexus.etsy.com with a bunch of stuff from last AWA such as my new MLP desk calendar, vinyl stickers, and pendants.
Once I am caught up I will hopefully be able to start taking more commissions and supplement my income. If anyone is interested my rates are still on my website www.xexart.com and you can email me at tracy[at]xexart.com or note me.
Also something to possibly look forward to, one of the projects I have been working on is a game for IOS, it is a murder mystery game and we hope to have something out first quarter 2014. AFTER that my friend who is doing the coding is going to help me put together a more adult game about my succubi and some transformation stuff.
Lastly if anyone saw me at FWA or AWA and saw something they wanted but didn't get/are still interested in, send me a message I still have stock of a lot of stuff and am more then willing to sell online, it just takes a lot of time to take pictures and post everything.

Been working on a few things, currently I am starting to get ready for FWA. Why so soon? because I am working on a D&D supplement. I have been working on this setting since I was in college and with the amount of animal races in it I think it will go over fairly well with my furry friends. So I am working on that and some new artwork!
I had a lot of fun at AWA, so if any of you saw me there~ thank you for visiting me!

Sci-Fi Summer Con + Sale
Posted 15 years agoWow, this last weekend was fun. I went to Sci-fi Summer con. There wasn't as many people there as last year I think, but overall I met a lot of great people and sold a few things. I did have a sale going at the con, that some people took advantage of, if you buy one deck of cards, the second is half off. so that is $15 for two decks.
I am extending that sale until the end of the week (sunday) so if you Note me I can give you more details or let you know about shipping etc. but in general it will be about 1.50-2 for padded envelope in the US, and $5 if you want a priority mail box with a tracking number. And of course $15 for two decks, if you get 3 it is $25 and 4 would be $30, if you get the math there.
I picked up a few commissions at the convention, I have a "Children's drawing to do as a movie prop for an indemendant film. I have 5 alien races to draw for a GM's RPG, and I may be doing the cover for a Feline Force Comic.

Whats been going on: in my attempt to make ends meet and to continue living, I have been working at the Advertising Company of Kleber & Associates in Atlanta. I have been going in a lot more then I expected, and with the time I have had outside of the work for them I have been doing the commissions. I am on part 2 of a three part commission for DioSoth at the moment and that part will be done tonight. I will see if I can't start posting some of the commission stuff soon, but I really need to get it and the other stuff I am working on organised before I start posting it to my sites. But rest assured an art update is coming very soon!
Some product news The card sales have been going fairly well, and for those interested I still have all decks in stock and if you mention this journal when you message me I will give you a $1 off per deck. Now that I am confirmed for AWA and with Scifi Summer Con coming up soon I am going to be starting work on some new key-chains. I sold a lot of my Wolf design at FWA on keychains, so I am looking to have those up on my Etsy in the near future. Also as the animal button/keychain idea seemed really popular, I was thinking of working out the Chinese Zodiac in that style in the near future.
A reminder for anyone who was at FWA or is just interested. All my work is available as prints, and all my merchandise is for sale, if you are interested in something that is not on my shop, or even want your own artwork put on a button or keychain please message me!

Negative side, I am going to need to make a lot of money by the end of the month ^^; So I am going to put out as much artwork as I can, clear through these requests as soon as possible and see if I can convince any of you watchers I am worth commissioning ~_^

Didn't post Monday like I said I would, Trying to get through the commissions I received at FWA. I had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people, here is a shout and a thank you to everyone who bought or took time to look through my stuff.
I want to urge anyone who has been wanting to commission me or to buy anything from my shop to please do as I am about $121 in the red after the two cons, and am trying to climb out of that hole. I plan to have the furry/anthro card decks on sale soon, but if you want me to make sure you have one/avoid extra fees you can message me and it will be $15($10 +5 shipping) per deck. Momocon + FWA

If anyone saw me at Momocon, then hi~ and thank you for taking a look around. Things went well and I had a lot of fun. I met more then a few really nice people and some really great artists. I will be making a full post on this next week as I am at my witts end right now, cause today is Thursday... which means FWA!
I should be packing and attaching and putting things together but thats what I was doing all last night... as I got a call from a client(I do freelance prepress and graphics work) who needs me to come in today and work on some images for Gerber @_@ so... to recap, last week was OMG Momocon after finishing my commissions. Then the weekend was the con, monday was me sleeping to recover... tuesday and yesterday was OMG FWA pulling the fanart from the books or marking it nor for sale, and getting all my furry exclusive stuff ready... and then today should have been relatively calm til tonight, but in about 3 minutes I am off to K&A offices to work on some gerber images, til about 4 where I will rush home, eat a food, and then rush off to get my badge and set up the table for FWA... My associate Mischievous Pooka has opted to try and get an artist table, while me and my other associate set up the table, so if she succeeds you should all visit her!!! But besides that she will have my lanyards if anyone is interested.
Anyway off to the office -.-
I will journal on tuesday if all goes well, and then I have one more project before I get to those requests, though I have a really good sketch for the renamon that I may finish it up within the week.

Whats been going on.
Posted 16 years agoQuick journal to explain the last two weeks, the last crazy two weeks. So Thursday the 8th I get a call from a friend in a company I used to do freelance work for who asks if I can help him out. Apparently the catalog project I had worked on many months ago is still ongoing and really needs like all the images color corrected. So I agree and after my normal work Friday I pick up the files. While the files are copying I finish DarthKitsu's avatar (yay) I then spend about 16-20 hours over the weekend working on these color corrections as well as the other plans I had for the weekend. While I am working sunday I get another call and an email from the same guy asking if I can do a website during the week. This Gerber water conservation site would be given to me Monday and I would need to finish it by Friday. I thought this was fine looking at what he gave me and I agree knowing that I normally have Tuesdays and Thursdays off from my normal job and the payment for TyFurischers commission hadn't gone through yet. So I agree, and on Monday when I am dropping off the files for the catalog I expect to pick up the website files. The customer was still making changes so I couldn't get them then AND more work needed to be done for the catalog so he asked me to come in Tuesday to do the catalog and to get the files. So I work all day Tuesday on the catalog, all night on the website, then go to work Wednesday, and spend all night on the website.
Now let me interject one more thing, at this point around Wednesday all the card decks I sent off to be finished come back as apparently the finishing company manged to mix up the sheets and they were all out of order... and so with what little time I have between breathing and working me and my house mates are sorting these cards to get them back to the finisher to do round corners.
So Thursday I find myself back working on the catalog(as the customer is crazy and keeps wanting to change things or keeps nitpicking things that I/we could have fixed months ago while fixing other things if he had cared at the time. And Thursday nights are my nights with my GF, nothing else happens Thursday nights. Friday I am back at my normal job and Friday night I am rushing to finish this website. Now I thought maybe I could have a little more time since they were late approving, but the customer had published the website address in some magazine or what ever that was hitting shelves Saturday... now let me mention I was given the files Tuesday for this site, the customer didn't actually approve said files until Wednesday night and wanted this completely finished and working Friday... crazy people.
So I end up spending Saturday doing corrections as I threw up on the web everything I could get done as fast as I could get it done on Friday. At this time I was given yet another website, only 4 pages this time and worked on that Saturday as well. Sunday I took a breather and did the sketching and line work for TyFurischer. I then get a call that I am needed again for the catalog so I ditch one job for another Monday. I inked Ty's sketch that night and worked on the other site some more. Tuesday I went into work for missing Monday. That night we were entertaining guests but I got the flat colors in on the commission expecting to finish it after work Wednesday or during the day Thursday. Wednesday night I had to take care of some private things that I am not going to mention here but were personal and important. And I had to go in for the catalog again Thursday and infact going in again today to preflight it before print. It seems that many issues I though I had fixed were not fixed cause some idiot set very strange clipping paths on a portion of the files that are overwriting and cutting in on what I have done. And I tried to explain what they had to do to fix it, which was responded with "that is beyond my level with Photoshop can you please come in again and work on it. So I went in yesterday, and am going in again today. As long as the sky does not fall I should finish the commission tonight and be working on my own work again this weekend Though I have a flash website that I know will be coming onto my desk soon, but it shouldn't be in my que til Monday at the earliest @_@ I don't think I have ever been this busy in such a short time, but I will get back to arts very soon!
Just thought my watchers deserved a reason why I went from posting just about every day to silence for two weeks, I am here and I will get back to work soon~ I just don't think you guys would be entertained by a water usage audit calculator or a color corrected column or wall molding >.>

Lanyards, Buttons, and Keychains
Posted 16 years agoWell it is a new year, most of my big projects are done or very close to complete. And I am going to start working on the ramp up for FWA in March.
I am going to be doing custom badges/lanyards. And like I mentioned in a previous journal I am offering a service to make existing art, a sprite or avatar into a button or keychain for wearing at a convention or meeting. I will have examples of all these things up some time this week, thinking of taking photos and such on Monday if all goes well.
In another note, I still have not solidified how I want to sell prints through my Etsy site but if anyone is interested in getting any of the artwork in any of my galleries as a print, send me a message an I can make a listing just for you!

Posted 16 years agoI am back from Yule and gearing up for Christmas. I just finished the 1000 page view kiraban and when I get there I will give out another for 5000.
I am going to be trying to rap up my Playing Card Deck project this week as well as starting on my next big project for FWA. I am going to be doing badges and lanyards but I was also thinking about another idea. If anyone has an avatar/FA icon they really like and wants to help me with this let me know, but I was thinking about if people would like their avatars turned into 1.5" buttons or keychains. So if anyone would like to see what theirs would look like as a button or keychain send me a note, and you will make it to the demo/example page~
The idea is, yes you could pay to get a badge made, but on the forums of the internet and such we tend to be recognized by our avatars. I could make the avatar into a button that you can attach to your bag, badge, costume, or clothing and so when people see you at a con or other event you could continue to be associated with your avatar. Ehhh it's just an idea, so feel free to throw opinions at me.
I am still up for commissions, and once I get some example artwork up for it, I will post prices for custom badge/lanyard art as well as the price to print and ship lanyards of existing artwork for people who already commissioned their character and just want it formated for a badge with vinyl pocket and lanyard of course.

Posted 16 years agoOk, FA is back and I will get back to my usual post per day madness. I have a couple of things lined up so I should have no problem with that at the moment.
I am currently working on two commissions and sevenish Christmas projects... so I have my paws tied up at the moment.
I am still taking commissions however as I need to get both the others done tomorrow and Thursday and I think I am still on schedule for the Christmas projects >.>

I am debating... but I am thinking of doing another sale... something like all Christmas Themed commissions are 25% off or something... if anyone is interested send me a note and we can discuss.
And one more thing: I will give out a free request or kiraban to anyone who catches my 1,000th page view with a screen capture =^^=

FAQ
1.- Please email if interested or if you have any questions.
2.- Depending on the complexity of the drawing, we can negotiate the price
3.- For several artworks, we can also negotiate the price
4.- The final artwork is the client's property, and can be used in any way they desire however I reserve the right to be able to use the artwork for portfolio and display use.
5.- All the commissions are for digital artwork and they are sent via e-mail, shipping prices can be negotiated or pick up at a convention that I am going to can also be arranged.
6.- The payment is in advance.
7.- Payments are made using PAYPAL, other payment can be arranged.
8.- The turn around time will be 1 to 3 weeks at it's maximum, depending on the quantity of work that I have.
