Well that was certainly an enlightening experience...
General | Posted 8 years agoSo because I was unwilling to help some clueless, hapless nobody find a fursona I'm apparently the cause of all the mass shootings in the world xD
No really, what you just read is what I was just accused of by some anonymous nobody.
They asked if they should just Google image search until they find something they like and use that. To which I said no, don't do that because that's somebody's art and somebody's character.
Then they practically begged for my help, to which I said hey, check out Furaffinity there's plenty of artists open to draw stuff for you. Just browse and see what you find.
Then they begged me for more help because apparently the above explanation was not self explanatory enough, to which I said, well there's also plenty of forums around.
Now understand I was just looking for someone to RP with as Evelynn. I was willing to give some advice and point them the right way, but I wasn't going to act as the Furry Tour Guide. So because of the heinous crime of not being entirely altruistic to this hapless individual's quest, I am the cause of all mass shootings in the world....that is some serious leap of logic. They ranted on about how we furries are degenerate, low life scum and all sorts of equally stupid nonsense xD But that's basically what it boiled down to.
Word of advice, don't expect the entire world to fall out of everyone else's ass for you. Lower your expectations a little. If that's not too much to ask xD

Introducing Evelynn Sommerfel
General | Posted 8 years agoAnyone watching my profile the last few days will likely have noticed I have a new cutie on my page. For a while now I've wanted a femboy character to use, so I've finally taken the plunge and made one. He has a proper ref (hopefully) on the way. But I'm going to take this opportunity to properly introduce him.
Big wordy wordy starts here
Evelynn is a Fallow Deer from somewhere in the Europe and works as a magical healer, able to channel positive energies into incredible healing powers able to heal all but the most severe injuries. His powers are limited strictly to healing and he is unable to channel or conjure any destructive energies.
His incredible powers however drew the attention of a demonic entity that was attempting to enter the material realm. On top of that his lack of destructive magic would make it easy for the demon to make use of him to achieve this goal. The only way for the sinister creature to enter the material realm was to be reborn into it. So after doing some research on mortals and how they reproduce it thought it had an infallible plan. Use it's own powers to modify Eve's body without the deer being any the wiser, giving him a womb in which it could plant itself.
Of course even the best laid plans go awry, and the creature failed to properly do it's research, such was it's eagerness to enter the physical world and cause havoc. It gave Evelynn a womb alone, and no other parts of the female reproductive system which would be necessary to be born. So once it transferred itself from the immaterial universe into the mortals realms and into Evelynn's shiny new womb it found itself....stuck. It grew like any normal offspring for nine months until it was ready to be reborn, but with incomplete female plumbing Evelynn never gave birth to the demon. Now with the creature's powers dormant it had no way of getting free and had trapped itself.
Evelynn was none too happy about the course of events as one might imagine. At first he was curiously eager about his pregnancy, but when he didn't give birth he tried to figure out what he was carrying. Sure enough he figured it out. However he was equally as stuck, with no powers of his own he could use to remove the creature. In the two years he's been pregnant he has gotten used to it, if very bashful of his condition. Knowing what he carries though he has long since decided that he would rather keep it in his womb rather than trying to find a method of removal. At least that way it can't get free and cause chaos like it wants.
Of course this has had some side effects. While the demon is as helpless as any normal offspring it makes itself known to it's surrogate every now and again, thrashing and kicking at the confines of it's fleshy home. Given Evelynn's small size and lack of much physical strength this can be anything from simply inconvenient, to totally draining. Sometimes causing him to have to stop all that he's doing to simply ride it out until his womb occupant calms down again.
Despite his circumstances the deer continues his work as a magical healer, and sometimes even enjoys his pregnancy.
Big wordy wordy ends here
Heh, sorry if that's rather long. But that's Evelynn's backstory, and why he's in the state that he is :3
Expect to see more of my little deer soon enough <3

A lull in art.
General | Posted 8 years agoWell this feels strange....I have a lull in art for a change.
Sure I have plenty I'm waiting on, but nothing to upload. For the longest time I had a little backlog building up, but now that's all uploaded.
Ah well, at least there's still plenty going up from artists for me to enjoy :3 Stay awesome FA! <3

Isn't it funny when people say they're open to conversation
General | Posted 8 years agoBut they block you.
No this is nothing recent. I just happened upon someone who blocked me a while ago and found it funny their profile said they're happy to meet people and share a conversation. Gave me a good chuckle. I didn't even say anything offensive or rude, I asked a question about a submission, an innocuous one at that.
Aren't people just the darnedest things?

Hooray for the modding community!
General | Posted 8 years agoThis is why PC gaming is so bloody great! I've been spending this afternoon enjoying Command&Conquer Tiberian Sun, an old RTS released in 2000. Like a lot of older C&C games is next to impossible to run on modern systems.
But thanks to the modding community (or what might as well be a modding community) there are patches that allow it run without issues on modern machines, and in high resolutions to boot! :D So if you're a fan of classic Command and Conquer but can't get them to run then I highly suggest checking out https://cncnet.org/
These guys have patches for Windows, Mac, and even Linux machines! And no this isn't a paid plug, but I've had so much fun playing TS today that I wanted to give others the chance to enjoy those old games as well, should they wish :3

Dota 2 players, a question for ye!
General | Posted 8 years agoLong matches, do you enjoy them? I'm talking like, 60 minutes.
I sure fucking don't. Because they always feel like an utter drag and usually end anti-climatically. So get this, 60 minute match where the last 20 minutes is spent defending against creeps. We can't push fights 5v5, the enemy is too cautious to push for fights themselves. This shit went on for 20 goddamn fucking minutes of NOTHING but killing creeps.
The worst part is, with one or two more good fights in our favour we could have won. That's the absolute worst because you spend that time thinking you're still in with a chance of winning, but then once it's over and you lose you realise you've just wasted 60 minutes of your life being bored and hoping for the sweet embrace of a coma. Least that's more interesting.
I almost fell out of my chair from the rigor mortis I was so bored by the end >.>
For any non-Dota players this will probably mean absolutely nothing, but for Dota players among the readers here I'm sure you can relate to this scenario....

Well it's been a long time since I held a grudge...
General | Posted 8 years ago...and I still don't. Grudges aren't worth holding onto.
But I don't forget what some people have done, be it to me or others. (mostly me because I'm a little narcissistic like that) But the point is while most will move on, and so will I, I won't forget what transpired.
Still I do sometimes wish I had the opportunity to open a channel with those that have wronged me, or that I have wronged to discuss it. Yeah, I understand that a certain point down the line it's old news but it doesn't hurt to work it out. Afterall discussing events is how we properly move on and can grow as people, learn from what we did and improve ourselves with that knowledge.
Also...I don't like leaving things on bad terms. Regardless of what may have happened it makes me feel bad that the last interaction you might have with someone is tainted in hate or anger, or some other slew of negative feelings. Heck even if I was the one at fault, I'll come to terms with that and want a chance to apologise for my actions and to explain myself.
This may sound weird but this is why I really dislike the Block feature on websites. I understand they are a necessity but it blocks off any chance for people to come clean, it blocks off the chance to set things right. If you're willing to listen to what someone has to say you can put it behind you and go forward on neutral terms at the absolute least.
Meanwhile if you block them and completely oust any chance for them to speak, you're just gonna go away from it resenting them or continuing to hate them whenever you see them around.
You know what I think it is? People are scared to talk these days. Sure this is a hugely unsubstantiated claim, but it's just my gut instinct based on experiences. People are scared to talk. They see the smallest inkling of something they don't like and it's immediately shut off, rather than challenged.
....
I dunno. Just some brain dump stuff. I'm not sure what my overall point here is, interpret this as you please.
Take care of yourselves out there. Peace <3So, I saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi (no spoilers ahead)
General | Posted 8 years agoSo went to see The Last Jedi last night. (Fear not, no spoilers ahead).
Yeah, it was alright. That's about the long and short of it really.
If you're a Star Wars fan, see it. But personally I thought Rogue One was better, and still the one to beat for Disney Star Wars films.
It had it's flaws, there's plenty of cheesy humour (then again, the original trilogy had it's fair share of hammy moments so nothing new there). There's a fair bit of faff, but it moves the overarching plot of the new trilogy forwards enough to keep you invested.
The action scenes are also nicely varied and don't feel samey as the movie goes on.
Poor ol' Carrie Fisher though, it's obvious she was flagging during filming but puts up a damn good performance despite her advancing age and potential health issues at the time (and even has a couple of badass moments).
Mark Hamill makes a good return, and his own age adds a grizzled, "tired of it all" edge to Luke Skywalker.
That's about all I can say without going into too much detail and giving away anything. My recommendation, see it for sure. It's not the best SW film, but it's by far from being the worst and has plenty to entertain even a non-Star Wars lover.

We can still Save The Net!
General | Posted 8 years agoThat's right! Net Neutrality can be saved! We can tell the FCC to suck a fat one!
https://www.battleforthenet.com
https://www.savetheinternet.com/sti-home
Americans, TAKE ACTION NOW! Tell the FCC and Adjit Pai they can eat shit! Especially Adjit Pai. He is an enormous, corporate shill, compulsive liar, and generally, a massive cunt.
Do you want a massive cunt to have the last laugh!? No, I didn't think so!The FCC, and especially Adjit Pai, can burn in hell.
General | Posted 8 years agoNet neutrality in the US is dead. It's done.
"Internet service providers (ISPs) will now be allowed to speed up or slow down different companies' data, and charge consumers according to the services they access.
But they must disclose such practices."
Oh but don't worry guys. While ISPs may now be allowed to completely fuck you all over, they have to tell you when you're being fucked over. Because that makes it all okay doesn't it? That makes being nickle and dimed for extra cash for extra shit you shouldn't have to pay for all the more easy to stomach!
I may be in the UK, but this vote has seriously pissed me the fuck off. The ONE saving grace about this is that there's already actions in motion to work against this.
I can only hope that the people who voted in favour of killing net neutrality are fucking fired.
'The FCC's chairman, Ajit Pai, argues the changes will foster innovation and encourage ISPs to invest in faster connections for people living in rural areas.
He refers to the change as "restoring internet freedom".'
AAHAHAHAAHAAH! HAHAHAAHAHAHA! AAAAHAHAH!
*Breaths in*
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAAHAHA!
Never have I heard such, utter, bullshit. Pai is absolutely delusional if he truly believes this will encourage ISPs to invest in faster speeds for ANYONE, let alone rural areas. Guess what? ISPs, especially American ISPs, don't fucking care! They didn't before, and they even less reason to care now that they can charge even more money, for even shittier services!
Great job, Adjit Pai! I hope you're proud of yourself, you mis-informed, delusional cunt. Kindly eat shit.
-STHE INTERNET ITSELF IS AT RISK! Less than 24 hours to act!
General | Posted 8 years agoWe have just about 24 hours before the FCC attempts to kill Net Neutrality and change the internet as we know it!
We still have a chance to stop censorship, throttling, and extra fees online.
If you are in the United States, Congress needs to hear from Internet users like you right now.
https://www.battleforthenet.com/
PLEASE DO NOT WAIT TO ACT! This has to be stopped here, and now! If you are in the United States I urge you to take action! Do not let the FCC walk all over you like the suckers they are already treating you like! You can kick them back now, where it will hurt! Stop this from going through, and show them they can't get away with what they want!
This may be happening in the US, but if this murder of Net Neutrality is successful it WILL spread beyond the shores of the States. It will set a precedent to other Governments and bodies of power that they too can fuck over users in other countries.
This is bigger than just the US. But only you, my American cousins across the Atlantic, can take action against this!
It's December!
General | Posted 8 years agoThat means you are now allowed to officially put up Xmas decorations and play Xmas songs in public spaces without earning my disdain :D
I kid of course. (But really don't put that shit up before December).
Oh boy, I really should do my seasonal shopping....

Net Neutrality is at risk....again! Fuck the FCC
General | Posted 8 years agoCitizens of the United States, your country is trying to ONCE AGAIN fuck over your access to the internet!
Spread the word, even if you aren't living in the US. And if you are living in the US I implore to make a stand!

If you want a little more information, please refer to the video below. Even if you're not a fan of Mr.Sterling, just watch it because it's a pretty concise summery of the bullshit that's going on that's trying to fuck you over!
https://youtu.be/gvVa4ZymRzU
THERE IS LITTLE TIME TO ACT! We have less than three weeks before time is up. Do not idle my American friends, tell the FCC where it can stick it's attempts to eradicate Net Neutrality, preferably, up an asshole. Even better, it's own asshole!November is here, and you know what that means!?
General | Posted 8 years agoXmas music will be played in any and every public space possible, and relentlessly so! Which means that by the time December finally rolls around, everyone will be sick to death of Xmas songs xD Oh well.
I dunno about the rest of you but I'll be starting my Xmas shopping before the month is up. Soon as December gets here delivery times get too close for comfort and the shops get too crowded and hectic that you can't think about what you're going to actually get.
I know it's a little early, but what are you lot hoping for Xmas (Or other holiday celebration that takes place during December)?
Let's split this into two:
Presents you're hoping for?
Non material thing you're hoping for? :3
Myself? Well recently I've had a hankering for Pokemon plushies, specifically a Glaceon. Have you seen the official Pokemon Center plushies!? They're adorable!
And for non-material related? I just hope 2018 is less shit than 2016 & 17, overall. Personally my year has been pretty good. But on the larger scale 2017 has been almost as shit as 2016. Hopefully 2K18 will look a bit better....a nebulous desire you might say, but I'm an optimist that can enjoy the simple pleasures in life. So something on a larger scale would be nice <3

Any DotA players among my watchers? :3
General | Posted 8 years agoIf so I gotta simple question; Favourite hero? Be it to play, or character/backstory, whatever. I wanna know :D
Also if anyone knows, what's a quick way to level up to 20? I'm getting kinda sick of the grind and pubby All Pick games are riddled with disconnects, and usually I find myself quitting to find another match in hopes of people not disconnecting.

Well this is exciting; animation! :D
General | Posted 8 years agoI just ordered a custom animation...never done that before. Sure I've had a few animated icons in the past, but they were from premade bases.
I look forward to seeing it, and hopefully some of you will get what it's based on :D
DotA players, can I get a "Mid of feed"? ;D

General | Posted 8 years agoI'll be 22...well fuck, all the big "growing up" birthdays have been and gone now xD There's 18, for when you can buy your first pint, 21 for whatever else is illegal to sell to you younger than that.....and then that's it.
Oh well. I'm gonna have a pretty chilled out day tomorrow. I didn't plan to go out, or have a big party or piss up. I'm cool to do my own thing and spend time with family :3

Splatfest Results: I FUCKING CALLED IT!
General | Posted 8 years agoFlight won! How did I know? Because Invisibility all out sucked arse. We may have had more players, but that was just more crapouts.
Hope you're all proud of how shit you all were :D
....Me? Salty? Never. But I can't help but feel annoyed at how much bloody effort I put in, only to be grouped up with crap players a good 75% of the time as I played yesterday...oh and I didn't even mention all the disconnects either!
(Totally not salty though #sarcasm)

I'm convinced Nintendo didn't get humans to do QA testing
General | Posted 8 years agoOr to use the full title I had in mind: I'm convinced Nintendo didn't get humans to do QA testing on the JoyCons.
So having spent several straight hours playing Splatoon 2's Splatfest, it's come to my attention that the JoyCons in their controller housing are immensely uncomfortable to use for longer than about an hour. Which comes down mainly to two factors.
1st Factor:
The general size of the controller. With the JoyCons slotted into the controller housing you're still using the JoyCons just strapped together, and the issue with this is that the JCs are really small. This is quite the issue for something with long spindly fingers....like me, even more so with the asymmetrical positioning of the sticks.
Now I used to play on the 360 a metric shit load back in the day, so the asymmetric sticks aren't the issue themselves but more so the position of the right stick being directly beneath the buttons rather than beneath and off to one side (like a 360 controller).
So this means I have to awkwardly claw my right hand in order to use the stick and the trigger together, which when playing Splatoon is all the time.
2nd Factor:
Well I said it in the title. For their last three consoles, the Wii, WiiU and now the Switch Nintendo has had some obsession with making their controllers harsh geometric shapes rather then anything designed with human (or furry) hands in mind. The Wii-mote was a rectangle. The WiiU Tea Tray was an even bigger rectangle that weighed significantly more. Now the Switch JoyCons, regardless of configuration, while not harsh rectangles are still heavily geometric with awful ergonomics.
In fact because of these designs I'm convinced that Ninty uses obsolete assembly line robots to QA test their controllers. I refuse to believe that nobody in the QA department put up their hobbled hands after testing and said "This is uncomfortable to use!"
So needless to say I forked out the 60 quid to buy a pro controller, which has nothing but good reviews across the board from what I can see. Maybe the JoyCon's being shit was just a clever ploy on Ninty's part to get more greens out of people. But that's my cynical side talking again.
On another note, is Team Invisible populated entirely by cack handed fuckwits? I've had so many losing streaks today. When the Splatfest results are announced it would not surprise me if Team Flight won by a huge margin xP
