Any of my watchers play Starcraft 2?
General | Posted 9 years agoIf so I have a question for you.
What's your most hated matchup as the race you play, and why?
As a Terran for me it's TvT. I'm really bad at ending them quickly and they have a horrible tendency of dragging on for just way too long. In the end I usually surrender out of sheer boredom, I'm not kidding xD Because usually I can't break their turtle, they have a million missile turrets lining their base and they never attack. Yawnarama, am I right?

Well there was ONE good thing that came of the program wipe
General | Posted 9 years agoSo after I've reinstalled all of my stuff there is a single good thing that's come of having to wipe all my programs. I'm now without programs that I otherwise wouldn't have uninstalled myself.
Wouldn't say it was worth the ball ache that ensued with having to put everything back on, but silver linings I guess :P

So someone watched me...but I'm on their block list?
General | Posted 9 years agoI've never even seen this user before. They watched me so I went to give them a thank you shout:
"You appear to be on [Username]'s block list, your shout was not added"
Uuuh, okay? So that's a thing that happened xD Never spoken to this user before, like I said, never even seen them.
Suppose my sheer brilliance must have astounded them so they just wanted to click ALL the buttons.
/s
Just wanted to put that out there, it gave me a really good chuckle x3

UPDATED: Be warned! Passwords potentially leaked!

Pretty sure FA uses Cloudfare, so engage password changes pronto! Heck, even if FA doesn't use Cloudfare do it anyway! You can never be too secure.

On the subject of: Piercings
General | Posted 9 years agoI really don't get piercings. At all.
Don't get me wrong I've nothing against them or anyone who has 'em. But they're one of those things that I just can't wrap my head around.
I simply can't fathom the appeal of sticking chunks of metal into yer face x3
Anyone who likes piercings, or has any themselves care to shed some light on the matter? I'm genuinely intrigued as to the appeal.

I don't respond to idle notes.
General | Posted 9 years agoIf you plan on sending me a note that says nothing more than "Hello" or "Hi" don't bother, I won't respond. If you want something then tell me, if you wanna strike up conversation then do it. I'm not adverse to that.
But I am adverse to vapid notes.
Many thanks <3

Do you sometimes just feel really bloody apathetic?
General | Posted 9 years agoAfter making the mistakes of consuming lots of media related to current affairs....*sigh* just makes one feel completely apathetic xP
There's a reason I despise having to keep up with all the bullshit happening in the world, most notably the political landscape. That shit is just exhausting...

Does anyone know artists that do robots/cyborgs?
General | Posted 9 years agoBefore any suggests him, yes I know that
strype does them but I'm looking for someone who doesn't have a waiting list a million years long (as much as I would love a piece from Mr.Strype).
tanraak does some kickass cyborg stuff but he's closed that general theme for the time being.
So if anyone knows artists that do similar stuff, and that don't have waiting lists longer than Anita Sarkeesian's list of grievances, then please lemme know :D It's a theme I've been looking to dip my perverse fingers into for the longest time but as I said, Strype has an enormous waiting list and has gone quiet for some time.
Cheers!

A personal reflection, and open apology.
General | Posted 9 years agoSome may have noticed that the last few days my account was temporarily suspended. This is NOT going to get into details about it, or whine about it, or whatever else. It was justified. However that context does give me a good starting point for a bit of self reflection and hopefully the opportunity to set some things right.
My forced time away from FurAffinity, this massive hub for furry activity, turned out to be a really good thing. Not simply for slapping me on the wrist but because it's given me an opportunity to think about myself, and how I stand and present myself within this little community of ours here on this website.
In my time here on FA I've tried my best to be a nice person, to be amicable and civil. But we are all people, and of course people make mistakes. I have made mistakes. I always approach new people with the hopes that we can go forward on good terms, even being able to agree to disagree with no hard feelings. Sometimes however you make a mistake. You say something that you feel is innocuous but, next thing you know you're upset someone or offended them or whatever else, even if it was an accident and that wasn't your intention.
I have no qualms admitting that has happened because of me, those are things I have done. I want to bring people closer and spread peace and goodwill...however with some I've managed to do the exact opposite, instead driving a wedge between us and pushing them away from me (not maliciously or with the intent of doing so however). And you know how things can be, something small can get out of control and the next thing you know you're at each other's throats and you hate each other or....something similar. Regardless of the context you go away from it all feeling bitter, and scornful.
While I don't feel things to that extreme, my time away and a little self reflection made me realise something. What's the point of holding a grudge? It solves nothing and only weighs on your mind whenever you have a moment idle and let your mind wander on it's own.
Realising that I've decided to ditch my dumb pride (I mean what does pride get you? nothing), and cast off the shackles of pointless, petty grudges. I hold no further qualms with anybody. Keep this in mind as you read further.
No longer do I want to push people away, and I would like to take this opportunity to openly apologise:
To anybody whom in the past I may have upset, offended, or caused any sort of grievance, I am very sorry for my past actions. Whatever it is I might have done to you, please know that if it caused you to have a negative experience in anyway that I didn't want that.
If you would like to take up the offer, I can personally apologise on a one-to-one basis. My block list is now empty. No longer will I hold any qualms or issue with anyone. If you would allow me the opportunity to set things right, settle our differences and go forward in peace then I am willing to participate in that. If however you would rather keep your distance from me, then that is perfectly understandable and like I said, I take no issue with that course of action. Just know my open apology is here.
I'm not openly referring to anyone with any specificity, I've already breached the Terms of Service and Code of Conduct once I don't wish to do so again so I've kept this journal free of names and ambiguous on purpose.
You have my thanks for reading this personal reflection of mine. To anyone reading I hope our future interactions are amicable, civil, and above all enjoyable.
Take care now. Much love and appreciation.
-Simone2016 Introspective
General | Posted 9 years agoSo last year I did a retrospective of the year gone, and looked mostly at the things that happened around me or concerned me. This time around I'd like to look inwards, to myself. What did I do in 2016? What did I improve about myself? What mistakes did I make? What can I do to improve myself as a person going forwards?
I've been wanting to get this out there the last few days, need to let it out before I feel I can fully close off 2016.
Blimey what a turbulent year. Despite this being an introspective on myself it's hard to talk about yourself with some of the things going on in the world (so i'll likely touch on that). Said events aside however I've certainly made my fair share of mistakes this year.
Biggest of which was infringing my own values on how to carry oneself and engage with others, even if it was only once. Now I doubt people that have been pissed off by me this past year (intentional or not, though I don't deliberately piss people off) will be reading this bar one. And they might dispute that, but I've only infringed my own values once this whole year. Thankfully the individuals involved were willing to allow me to set things straight and let bygones be bygones (kudos to those two <3).
The other times I've pissed people off...well, I was being perfectly reasonable. Would you call telling people to calm down and take a step back being unreasonable? No I don't think so, but as I've said in the past you can't say anything these days without triggering someone, regardless of how innocuous. One instance was someone insulting an entire comment thread and then blocking me after calling them out on it xD And this is a big artist mind, lots of followers. Just wish they could see how much of an arse he is, but hey ho. I said I can be amicable and reasonable, but I can still be vindictive >;3
That aside there is always room to improve oneself. Regardless of who it might piss off I won't stop expressing my points of view where it's appropriate, only now I won't fall into the easy trap of being an ass while doing it (plenty of people do :P). I plan to rigidly stick to my own values regarding discourse and interaction with others, and if they fly off the hook it'll be their issue.
In terms of my professional skillset there is plenty to expand upon with my job. Being a Web Designer allows for plenty of skills to develop, and lots of knowledge to learn! The best part is the skillset is transferable to sooooo many types of companies, because who doesn't have a website these days? Those things need maintaining, and like anything they can always been improved as well ;3
Outside of professional stuff, I would like to start drawing again this year. I've been doing it here and there but it's mostly dropped off my list of past times recently (and by recently I mean months and months). Alongside that returning to the gym! I had a good rhythm going for a while, since September even but that too dropped off late November. Now the gluttony that is the Xmas season over and done with it's time to work off this Winter weight...not that I really put any on but you get the idea. Maybe this year I can work up some muscle, not much but enough where I feel confident I could kick someone's ass. Again not like I plan on doing so I'm a devout pacifist. I digress.
Phew, boy do I feel better getting that out. Don't care if anyone read this one or not, call it one last brain dump of the year. NOW I can let 2017 into my life like a puppy coming in from the rain~
Happy New Year peeps and peepettes and anyone who doesn't conform to a binary peep designation :D
Peace out. Take care of yourselves <3 Obligatory journal related to seasonal festivities!
General | Posted 9 years agoAnd just to avoid leaving anyone out, or heaven forfend, offending anyone, I'll just say this:
I hope everyone enjoys their generic bland obligatory half-remembered swamp of gluttony and resentment :D
Much love. Peace.Fellow League of Legends players, join me in a drinking game
General | Posted 9 years agoWell it's that time of year again, the stockings have gone up and the owner of the stockings has been paid £10 and left my hotel room.
But that aside it's the Holiday season (not gonna specify one this year, it caused someone to have a tizzy when I did last year), I got a big bottle of spiced rum and a 2litre bottle of cola so it's time to kick back, relax and play League of Legends. Now there's an oxymoron in there and I'm sure you can spot it.
And while I'm not usually one to get drunk unless at a social gathering I've devised a little drinking game to indulge in that will help exponentially improve your time playing LoL as well as numb the bullshit hurled at you from the delightful playerbase :D
So what're the rules? Well I highly suggest you refrain from taking the rum (or your spirit or liqueur of choice) straight. I don't want to be arrested for assisted suicide because somebody's liver exploded. (Please drink responsibly above all <3)
Without further ado here are the rules:
Take a sip if:
- You die
- Your team loses a tower
- You have a jungle buff stolen that you're trying to take
Take a larger gulp if:
- Your own tower goes down first (or if you're the jungler, your team loses the first tower)
--- If you're not the jungler, another tower on your team goes down first
- Your team aces the enemy team
- Your team loses Dragon or Rift Herald
- You or someone on your team earns a Penta-Kill
Finish the glass if:
- you give up first blood
- someone on your team gives up first blood
- Your team is aced
- Your team loses Baron
- Your team loses the first inhibitor
- An enemy champion earns a Penta-Kill
That's about all I can think of right now. If anyone else has some suggestions to add let me know! :D
(I'm not going to be doing this myself, I'm actually trying to climb ranks right now x3)Idle Thoughts: It's okay to be unhappy with something
General | Posted 9 years agoWell this is something unusual, I'm writing a journal from work. Not to worry I'm in a lull as I'm waiting for a big site to finished backing up, and I'm the only one in the office right now on my lonesome.
I have some idle thoughts that have cropped up since this morning that I would like to get out there. This might be a little "all over the place", so apologies in advance I'm just making a brain dump.
Something that a lot of people seem to forget when it comes to buying artwork is that what you are paying for is a service. You are a customer and you are paying for a service (the artist's skills), and they provide you with a product (the artwork). So to boil this down, what we're dealing with is a customer/service relationship.
Think of it like paying for a plumber to come and fix your pipes, you're paying for their expertise.
But what happens if they do a poor job? Or you're not satisfied? What if the plumber didn't fix your leaky pipes? What if you were unhappy with what the artist produced?
Are you allowed to be dissatisfied with a service you paid for? Yes.
That there is something people often have a habit of forgetting, in my experience at least. Now there are few cases where I've been unhappy with art I've received (a single case actually, and this was spurred partly by it. Regardless).
(Let me briefly preface this next part by saying I'm not trying to stir shit up, it is however relevant to my point) In correspondence regarding that one case I've just mentioned, one of the individuals involved told me something. It was one particular comment that rather irked me. I won't quote exactly but it was along the lines of:
I should be appreciative of the work that was done, regardless of my satisfaction.
But as a paying customer, that's not something I can bring myself to do, because I can't appreciate something that I'm not happy with. Now the comparison to a plumber falls apart here because art is subjective, and plumbing is much less so. However I was unhappy with the result, it was not to my liking. But I was being stigmatised for that, despite being well within reason to be dissatisfied (my attitude aside here).
So I guess the point I'm meandering to is, it is okay to be unhappy with something you have paid for (well shit, you could have just read the title and called it there). Because at the end of the day, if you buy art from somebody you are paying for a service. If it wasn't up to snuff, say so.
(Woah woah, I already said I'm not trying to stir shit up! Please don't take this personally or assume I'm directing this at somebody please. As already mentioned these are idle thoughts, just something to get off my chest)
Feel free to dump your own thoughts, other perspectives are appreciated. Civility please.Oh boy, Xmas shopping is on the horizon! D:
General | Posted 9 years agoAs much as I appreciate the sentiment behind exchanging gifts, boy does it leave a burning hole in the pocket X.X
Don't get me wrong it's not like I'm hurting for money, but this time of year is a cost I'd rather not have. Good thing I only get stuff for my immediate family and nobody else. Because I'm a tight git >:D
What about the rest of you? Do you enjoy having to buy gifts? Or is the joy of being selfless enough to offset the sometimes crippling costs?
Either way, December be on the horizon! Like a snowy, icy cold butt plug ready to fuck up your finances! Mwuahaha!

I think there's a lesson to be learnt here, for everyone.
General | Posted 9 years agoBe open to discussion and talk, refrain from preventing that in any way you can. But most importantly, try not to be a cunt while doing it. Because as I've found, nobody will want to talk to you.
Call it bleeding obvious but sometimes it's easy to forget that in the heat of the moment or if you get caught up in yourself. Carry yourself amicably, and remain civil. Above all however, blocking will solve nothing. If anything it'll only sweep the problem under the rug, instead of talking it out and coming to an understanding. Who knows perhaps you can make amends?
Take care and good day! <3What is the point of a ref sheet if nobody pays attention!?
General | Posted 9 years ago<rant>
What is the point of having a ref sheet, and including basic details if nobody fucking pays attention to those details?
And why do people keep mislabelling me as a fox or a cat or whatever!? It's written in big capital letters at the top of my page people, I am a Wolf! It's written on my ref sheet, and it's written under my Artist Information box, and it's labelled in every single submission I put up! Pay the fuck attention!
It bugs the shit outta me that I'm so frequently mislabelled because people are too lazy to confirm and would rather just assume and get it wrong...fuckit from now on I might as well just say to people "You know what, forget it. Depict me as any fucking species you damn well please!" Because it seems to me that nobody gives a shit.
You might might say that I'm making a big deal out of this but there is no excuse, none at all and it's the same as calling you another ethnicity or something, it's just fucking lazy. Take a minute to find out. That's all it takes, 60 seconds, heck not even that! Just check someone's page to confirm if you're not sure because it just makes you sound lazy and ignorant and like you don't care about the fact that some people very specifically choose to be particular things. Maybe not so much with me but it extremely irritating nonetheless and has happened enough that I'm bloody sick of it...

Blocking, removing comments, and stifling discussion.
General | Posted 9 years agoOkay I know I said I wouldn't go to politics again but what I want to say right now is a result of it. No this won't be about the election, I'm done talking about the election this is about something bigger, something far more important.
In the last two days of talking about the US election there has been a lot of vitriol, anger, and hatred, from all sides! Nobody is in the right here, everyone has been flinging shit in one way or another. I'll admit it right now I've not been particularly amicable in the last two days, I openly admit that. Everyone has been the same.
However that's not the issue here. Because even if you're being hateful, even if you're being angry, vitriolic, scared or whatever else, you are talking! You are discussing! You are debating with people, plenty of them who likely share different political ideologies, philosophies, and opinions. As much as we would all like civil discussion, so long as discussion is taking place then people share ideas, they might even change each other's opinions or viewpoints. Make them think in a different way.
If people being uncivil is enough for you to not bother, then you are causing the problem. If that's enough for you to not bother debating or discussing anything, those ruffians are the ones in the good. Because they're the ones talking. If somebody says something that offends you, stand up to them! And I'm not just talking about people calling you names, or giving derogatory labels, no. I'm talking about people offending you on a personal, or ideological level, or any other way.
Because if you just walk away, you cause more problems than you could ever possibly solve by stifling discussion.
Being offended solves nothing! Fight back! Defend your position! Defend your beliefs! Engage in discussion! Because that's how people can better themselves, and that's how you can better other people.
Why am I saying all this? Because in the last two days alone, I've been blocked by someone saying they didn't even want to bother engaging with me. Even though I was trying to be civil, and amicable with them. Which was swiftly followed by someone else throwing pointless ad-hominem in my face before declaring they wouldn't reply to anything else I said to them due to how rude I was apparently being, unaware of the fact they hurled insults at me in the very next and preceding sentences. The third thing was one I found rather cute, someone left a comment on of of my previous journals that simply read "-watch" as if I was supposed to be hurt by that fact. To which I say....well read the rest of this journal that's what I say. Finally I also had two of my journals from the last two days removed which, while not eloquently written, still angers me because...again, read this journal.
That's the reason I'm saying all this. We need to talk, people. Talking is one of our most powerful weapons in this world. The power of words is unmatched. If we choose not to utilise it, we will get nowhere.

General | Posted 9 years agoLiterally overnight, the temperature seems to have plummeted *shivers* Doesn't help I live in South East England so you know what that means? Piercing cold winds blowing up from the Thames, oh joy!
Thing is I actually like Winter but fuck it living where I do @.@
Ah well it does mean that at long last it's stocking season! <3 I do love snuggling up in stripey stockings~
Oh and while I'm here, could we please stop with the fucking Xmas stuff already? It's not even mid-November yet! Give it a bloody rest!

Oh crap, I got myself back into Minecraft
General | Posted 9 years agoWhy oh crap? Because it will consume all of my freetime! xD
Still I'm surprisingly having fun with the game, given for a long time I've felt rather burnt out on it. See I'm a veteran Mincerafter, playing since the game's mid-Alpha stage so a fuck load of time has been spent playing this game in the last 5 or so years x3
But I surprised myself, given I'm really getting into it again!
Annoyingly Mojang appears to have lost my fucking details, so while I can login to the client and play the game, I can't access my profile because apparently the email address I've used for bloody years now (surely must be about 7-8 years, possibly more), the one I most definitely bought Minecraft with back in 2010 and that my account is associated with...isn't associated with my account...I've even provided the other 3 email addresses I have and they don't fit either apparently!
So now to migrate my old premium account over to their new system I need to prove I own the account. How you might ask? A simple security question, actually having the login credentials? Fuck no! That'd be too easy. No, I need to show them a bank statement proving I bought the game when I did! A fucking bank statement! And because I refuse to give in and take the easy route (as well as refusing to buy it again because that's what Microsoft wants) I now get to ask my bank if I can view statements from 5 years ago :P
Other than that I'm enjoying Minecraft.

Fortune Cookies!
General | Posted 9 years agoYes they're just a funny little gimmick and usually don't offer anything beyond ambiguous advice.
But having just eaten my bodyweight in Chinese© Food and opened up two of the many, many fortune cookies we were given with the takeaway the second one had me intrigued.
The first was the very thing I opened this journal with, offering ambiguous, non-specific advice. The second however caught me somewhat off guard:
"An unexpected visitor will bring good news you have been waiting for."
In my experience, unexpected visitors (or heck even expected ones) often bring bad news or something you didn't want to hear. If anything this simply peaked my interest and got me thinking...about what? I'm not entirely sure, but caught me off guard nonetheless. To people who wear glasses, got any gripes?
General | Posted 9 years agoThis came to mind earlier today, and since I have nothing better to do while XCOM2 installs I got curious.
If you wear glasses, what are your biggest gripes about it?
I have but one, and that's keeping the bastards clean! >.< It seems that everytime I take them off they're covered in smudges, specks and fuck knows what else when I've not even touched them for about half an hour @.@
Ugh, I find it rather tiresome...
