Photoshop Rant
Posted a year agoSo as an artist, I may not be the biggest influence on any social media or art hosting platform, but I feel it's my responsibility on this to make some form of statement. So for those of you who do not know. Adobe has put a change in place to their Terms of Service that they may access and use your content not just the content that you make, but anything you'd upload to their cloud.
Now granted I don't really use photoshop so I've sort of avoided my art being held hostage as I am adamantly against forced cloud data storage. But this still needs to be said.
So there are a lot of problems with this to break down so I'm going to cut it into smaller pieces.
1.) You are not able to access and delete your files UNLESS you agree to their terms of service.
In my opinion this should be an anti-trust lawsuit on it's own. This sort of thing should be unenforceable and illegal for ANY service. That any data or information you entrust the service with be locked behind an EULA whenever they should change it. Now if they say for example said "If you choose not to agree with this we'll automatically delete your data" that would be a bit better.
2.) I don't agree with surrender of my data for "moderation purposes"
It is my own strong belief that what you make is and should remain PRIVATE, unless you are sharing it publicly to use.
Take being a computer repair man for example, unless under some crazy criminal shit [say you found records of a murder or something] as you fixed a computer, it is the general expectation from your service that they not share or expose any information given, nor do I think it's their place or authority to sift through your data to see IF you did it with/without reason to believe you did. This is borderline vigilantism in my opinion. Photoshop should be and should've remained a tool, not a service, a tool.
So from this day forward indefinitely I will not be using any of Adobe's products that will require such surrendering of rights, and I strongly urge you artists to do the same.
If you are unaware of this please do your own research but here's a place to start https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXxMCm941WA
And please spread the word, who knows maybe if we outcry loud enough they might backtrack on it.
Whatever it is, I will be optimistic and cross my fingers that we can avert this in some way shape or form be it by convincing thing this is wrong, or by adapting to another program.
Let's hope that this can be a baby step at least in the right direction towards taking control of our lives back.
IDK how many of you care, or will disagree with me on it, but I feel this is a HUGE deal and we should all be very angry about it.
In either case, thank you all for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful day evening week and so on.

Sketch streams
Posted a year agoHello everyone, I don't know how successful I'll be on this, but if I am this could be a big help on me for many reasons. So I'm going to try and do sketch streams more often. If I can manage maybe once a week. For now, let's say if I stream it will be on Friday. If you don't already know my sketches on streams are 10 dollars and you can buy more than one.
Here's the deal, typically I can do them all on stream, and they actually help me quite a lot. Since I don't charge too terribly much for my art I often have to take extra commissions to get by. My sketches I've mostly been capable of completing quickly. With any luck this will believe it or not help lighten my load, so that I can spend more time focusing on the commissions I already have instead of spending a chunk of my time regularly trying to sell so that I can afford basic needs. This is not me saying I wont take regular commissions anymore, I'm still open for them. This just makes it HOPEFULLY where I don't have to take as many as I've been taking.
We'll see how it goes I guess. Let's hope for the best, I'm trying to avoid having to raise prices on you guys I like that my work is accessible, but if this doesn't work out I may have no choice.

Art Scammers on Discord
Posted 2 years agoHello everyone, I just wanted to point out a thing I've started to notice more and more of over discord. There appears to be an influx of people going person to person on discord typically through public servers attempting to sell users art.
They are often very sketchy, poor english, mention the very general scammer things like "I saw your pfp and thought it looked nice figuring maybe you could help me" kind of deal, I don't advise buying from these people even if you're not sure.
Ways you can check a list for things to look for
-poor spelling/grammar
-they come to you out of nowhere
-they make no real posts in the server they found you from [if any]
-if they have little to no regard for rejection
They might check one or more of those things, generally the first two imo are the most obvious giveaways I feel it doesn't need too much explaining but still it's growing so I've got to warn people who might not yet know.
If you didn't express some form of interest in an art, and you're approached by an "artist" simply because your profile picture is nice, take extra care in making sure they're a real artist.
Generally ask for an FA if what they give you is
-new
-mostly blank
-no icon
-very odd generic looking art
those are also red flags
To artists who are starting off here are some things you can do to avoid looking like a scammer.
-Don't contact people who you haven't already spoken to before and have reason to believe might be interested in art
- CHECK YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR PS. To those of you where English is not your first language, as I'm sure many of you are already aware to do, just be honest about it don't try to hide it.
-Have a website link FA, DA, Twitter [x], etc with lots of examples
-Remember to cite those who commissioned the art in your descriptions properly, [unless they ask you not to] previous customers serve as references and validation for your service. If you've not sold art yet, I would suggest doing a couple of trades/collabs and requests you do NEED to pad out your gallery with references when people come me to sell art if I see a blank account with no real sufficient references to people I'm probably not going to commission you solely on the fact that if I have any doubts I can't contact your previous customers and ask about you.
I hope this jumbled mess comes helpful to people both starting artists and buyers alike. Be careful, A LOT of people have found out that the furry fandom is a gold mine, and with things like AI art, bases etc being so common now you need to know what you're buying.

How to Help an Artist if you Don't Have Money
Posted 3 years agoSomething I've kinda thought was cool to do, especially with FA's rules about posting signal boosters and reminders changing here and there. Nothing against those changes specifically though I do understand them. But anyways. Something I tend to think is a cool thing you can do, besides he obvious telling your friends about them. Is to favorite their price list. At least as long as you're not hiding your favs or something like that. It'll put them there, as an artist and a person who buys commissions I'll tell you. I both look at follower's profiles and favorites. As I like to know what I did right, and I like doing so because generally if they like my art, there's usually something in there I like. I'm certain I'm not the only one who does this. So I just wanted to put that out there, for those who may not have thought to do something like that yet.
Either way, thanks for reading and I hope you all no matter what are happy enough and doing great!

LEO Character Q&A
Posted 3 years agoI get these questions a lot and figured I'd answer them here for those who might be curious.
Is LEO's powers bound to body or soul?
A: LEO's physical strength is tied to whatever body he's in. So if he's in a smol bod he's going to be smol stronk. His magical powers are tied to his soul, there might be some residual powers in his body, but the vast majority is in his soul, so body swapping does not give you his powers.
What happens if I eat LEO's soul?
A: That's a two part answer because LEO in my comic has more limits than LEO in commissions.
1. In a commission I'll probably work with you as best as I can to make something fun happen, I don't do character death with my OCs in commissions especially not LEOs but usually it's you get possessed or your soul merges with his.
2. In comic/tabletop lore those who have tried to eat LEO's soul have not survived so far.
What happens if LEO eats my soul?
A: Another two part answer.
1. In commissions I'm pretty flexible to what the buyer wants, but more often than not. I keep them, play with them, maybe take their form, and/or use their memories and personality for a more convincing disguise.
2. In comic book lore, generally LEO doesn't "eat" souls he "adopts" them, and they become part of him in a way. They are not destroyed or digested per say, but they do make him stronger magically at least in a spirit form. Long story short, it's just another soul living with him in his body which often has many fun effects.
How tall is LEO?
A: usually 8ft 6in though some versions are bigger, and some are smaller. The FIRST LEO was 7ft 11in, and Macro LEO is somewhere around 14-15 feet
How big is ANU?
Technically as it relates to LEO I'll put the answer here as well.
A: as big as ANU wants to be.
What Sex is ANU?
A: Uhh.... Yes!
Why are there so many different versions of LEO?
A: Well, that's a long answer to give. Practically speaking, I do this so that I can explore new ideas and keep things fun and fresh, sometimes I keep them, sometimes I don't. In lore reason is pretty easy to explain, the same reason every other comic universe does it with their super heroes.
What's with the rainbow LEO from years ago?
A: I don't fuckin know dude, I think makeup rainbows and makeup is cute, blame the Labyrinth and The Crow for that.
Is rainbow LEO gay?
A: Probably the least gay of the bunch technically since I didn't really do much sexy artwork back then much less gay art when I first came into the fandom it was right out of high school and I was pretty prude.
If you have any other questions for me feel free to ask I'll answer as best I can.

Contemplating some price changes
Posted 4 years agoI want to be as transparent with this as necessary so that people can understand why and not just think it has to do with popularity or artistic trends or anything.
I am considering some ideas on price changes, over the 10 years I've been doing this, I've barely changed my prices if any at all since the day I started.
With my growth that has taken quite a toll on me when you do a lot of transformation work and such, people buying from you in bulk. Keeping a grasp on things is a lot harder than people think.
Overall I get bigger commissions a lot, which I absolutely love to do and I don't exactly want them to stop.
However what I DO want is that if I take on a weeks worth of work I get a weeks worth of pay.
Now don't go thinking I've decided on it yet, I have a few ideas I need to consider, but I do want you all to know it's a real possibility and if it does happen I'll be doing it under the goal and idea that I want EVERYONE to be able to commission me. So if they change it shouldn't affect smaller commissions as much.

Changed my profile info
Posted 5 years agoI changed the text in my profile because it was getting out of hand. I was crowding my page with it, and I felt it was getting a bit watered down
I saved my old one here ya go
[Going to cover this first] I LOVE getting thanks for watches favs and so on. I do love to watch artists feel free to thank me. HOWEVER my page is NOT for your commercialism and marketing. Don't try and sell your art on my page like that. It just doesn't feel right. Especially as I myself sell art as a furry artist.
My Birth Year is 1991
My "furry" birthday is June 10 2011
Potential Questions:
YES I draw my own stuff
YES I take commissions
YES, I'll accept commissions anytime
No, I wont bite your head off for any questions you may have unlike some people
[also please note] The presents of adult art which is commissioned from me, and my lack there of hatred for art that crosses that line. DOES NOT imply in any way am into committing or using the art in a sexual manor I appreciate good art in its every form maturity and content is irrelevant though I do have a preference and there is some art that is too inappropriate for my taste. Despite that I SUPPORT exploration and expression of the mind and imagination
Hi I'm LEO nice to meet you.
I've been drawing since as long as I had a pencil and paper. Been winning state wide art contests since elementary school. When I was in high school I took several art and various exploratories, including LET, Computer Technology networking and repair, Computer math, marketing and more. I went to the Virginia state skills USA leadership competition. In the and placed top 4 in my state. I had to obviously win district before I qualified for that even. When I was in high school I didn't have a lot of money or material to work with. I did what I could with would I could get a hold of. Somehow it got me where I am. In my art classes I finished my assignments early and actually helped my art teacher by answering the students questions while she worked on other things. I try to broaden my mind in as many skills as I can get a hold of even if its just a basic knowledge. My craving for such things didn't mature however until after high school. I'm almost always drawing on something. I can't focus on the task at hand often unless I am drawing.
I try to stand up for those who are being judged even if I don't agree with them completely. I think about all the times I would have liked someone there for me when I was attacked by crits and bulliies. I think of how much it would have made me feel even though sometimes I know I was wrong. It still feels like the right thing to do. You must NEVER rob someone of their dignity.
Also I am friends with the color purple 8D
KimariKamatori A good listener and a very nice person to talk to. They're very understanding a dear friend of mine as well.

Also I would like to kindly say, I love getting all of your thanks its really nice especially when you're putting thought into them. HOWEVER please don't turn them into a means of marketing on my page by flashing a ton of random pointless characters an eyepainful color for your text and big bold letters. That's not fair to me, nor is it fair to any other artist you do it to. like I understand the hearts you wanting to be all super big love for your support. However there's some cases where its completely obvious you're just trying to get attention from anyone who looks at my page to go and check out your page. At that rate it isn't so much a thank you is it? Not really.

Soul Vore Telegram Group
Posted 5 years agoIn case those of my followers don't know. I have a soul vore/possession and overall soul vore telegram group! If you like that stuff and have/wanna make a telegram I highly recommend joining. If you want an invite please note me or comment here asking for an invite and you'll get it! <3
We ARE a private group from this point on [11/12/2024] but don't let that discourage you from asking for an invite. [We had to remove the link from here due to the bots and what not]
I plan on eventually hosting raffles there if I can at least get enough members and I would love to see the group grow more. You're all welcome to join and feel free to spread the word if you'd like to.
possession soul vore and what's it's okay, try to shy away from anything too extreme like skat of course and no RL photos 18+ only as well. Otherwise all welcome.

possession soul vore and what's it's okay, try to shy away from anything too extreme like skat of course and no RL photos 18+ only as well. Otherwise all welcome.
Update on our Hurricane status
Posted 7 years agoAs promised I did remove my previous journal. What was expected to be much worse than it appears to be seems to have been a near miss at best. The storm's still in effect, though I'm seeing updates saying ids dumbed down from a cat4 to a cat1 as well as the path has changed. I think this is about as near miss as a near miss can get. I'm just very grateful and relieved that it hasn't really had any major effects on us.
Fortunately it appears that we're going to be fine. It all is calming down. I'll keep you posted if anything changes but it seems the lucky lion has gotten lucky once again.
I thank you all for the support you gave it means a lot and I'm very happy to have people that care.

Posting Some Art Today
Posted 7 years agoI know its been a while, and I just want you all to know I'm still doing artwork. I've just been really careful about what I post, or when I post it.
I'll be filling my gallery with some of my newer works today.

Something I've Noticed Regarding Auctions
Posted 7 years agoIs it just me or does anyone else see "auctions" out there where they might as well be flat rates, not auctions?
Like I get if you start low and the AB is only 25-30 dollars higher. But you know what is the point of making
SB 70 dollars for example then the AB is like 80-100 dollars, to me that really just seems like a stretch and really isn't much point in it at all. It hardly feels like an auction when you're already 75% or more of the way to the auto buy.
I personally think at most the SB shouldn't rise over 50% of the auto buy I do get the artist has to make money and all but really you have to understand that buyers look to these as a means of saving money, they're not going to feel like bidding on something that's already a solid chunk of what it would cost in the first place. That is just my opinion of course I'm sure some people would see it and be more than happy to, there's always an exception or two.
Sometimes I just like to express my opinion on stuff like that. Its not that I hate people who do it or the fact that its done, its just always felt, ineffective to me. If you're that set on making a certain area of money, why don't you just make it a flat price? I guess its just so that they can say "no bids" or "auction" in journals/keywords in attempts to get a few extra clicks.

Returned from my Aunt's
Posted 7 years agoWas great for the most part had some stress there but I guess what else can you expect from family after all.
Its all good though. Now back to regular stuff. Open for commissions and working on them all at the same time.
If you want anything lemme know. Don't be shy.
If you have questions regarding them you should already have a means to reach me. [notes skype telegram or discord] Now back to work I go.

27 years old today
Posted 7 years agoIt was relatively recent that I began to realize at this point in my age its the choices you make that will really start to impact where your life goes. Once you're at the point where you're really not young anymore in the same way you used to be, though you're not quite out of youth yet kinda just approaching the top of the mountain that is youth I guess.
Time is something that you can't have back once you've spent it. I just hope that I can make the right choices in life and look back on this day happy that I made the ones I did.

Ferzu is a disgrace to artists and furries
Posted 8 years agoThis website Ferzu has given me a warning to my profile icon. Telling me what I can and cannot use as a gesture towards my acceptance.
[I know WHY they did it they just wanted the picture taken down I'll be reposting it and its free lineart here]
This site has made a statement towards something I STRONGLY disagree with and something I should say ALL artists strongly disagree with.
Apparently your art doesn't mean what YOU drew them for, it only matters what they SAY you can draw them for.
I made a picture to state "It was out of respect for trans people" I posted a male character innocently placing melons to his chest to simulate breasts, portraying it in an innocent light. Regardless to whether or not they agree that does NOT make it transphobic.
They didn't ask me to take the picture down. Just to stop saying it was made to say I respect trans people. So the pictures okay??? But my description makes it transphobic? HOW DOES SAYING I RESPECT TRANS PEOPLE COUNT AS TRANSPHOBIC.
This site will not be getting any more pictures posted by me with the exemption maybe of a profile icon. Which will be a low resolution version.
This site has no business telling me what I can't say in my own art. Such is the purpose of art in the first place.
A rose is a symbol of love, but a rose alone does nothing to suggest love. I AT LEAST had SOMETHING in the image to suggest I respect trans people.
If you see this remember, on Ferzu your art isn't free you don't get to pick the meaning of you art. If you make a flag for example with simple colors. You by that logic DO NOT get to pick the flag's meaning. If Ferzu doesn't like it. Then they'll just pick a thing in their ToS and put it there JUST to make you change it.
I would normally not post about an administrative action, but this is a disgrace. Ferzu admins you, should be ashamed of yourselves. Trying to dictate artwork in that fashion is a ABSOLUTE disgrace/
If you're an artist or support art I strongly suggest you DON'T GO THERE hell don't even go there if you like to chat.
The community is piss they treat everyone like shit no matter what you do.

"Why did an artist block me" [my take]
Posted 8 years agoI've seen a few journals looming about on the subject I wanted to address it myself and share my insight.
Okay so everyone's going to deal with getting blocked sooner or later out of all the people on the internet someone's just not going to like you, and that's fine.
The problem I SEE with most people's journals is they're like "A person can block you based on posts they see you making elsewhere and for [insert generic typically judgmental/hypocritical reasoning]
My problem with that is you make it sound like its the fault of who you blocked that they got blocked in the first place.
I'm here to tell you its not your fault if someone blocked you and didn't give you any reason to it. Then they are just not worth a second thought shrug it off and move on. Don't dignify them with regret over something you had nothing to do with.

FWA 2017 [first convention]
Posted 8 years agoWell it had to have been one of the most interesting life experiences for me to date. I'd almost didn't even make it in. Though with a lot of effort and some really awesome friends who wouldn't take no for an answer I managed to get in.
It feels really REALLY good when that happens I'll tell you. When you're experiencing the backlash of compiled stress through life and friends come from out of all over and put in the effort to make sure you're able to be involved. It feels really good to have friends like that.
So I've never shown you guys what I look like, but I want to show all of you what photos I have from the Con so as soon as they're on my device I will post what I can. You'll see me for the first time. Don't worry none I've ever shown myself to has ever been disappointed so I severely doubt I'll ruin your illusion of me as a lion. :P
I want all of my followers to not only be a fan of my art and characters, but to be a fan of me as a person as well, and to do that I want to let you all have a chance to get to know me.
So a short summary of what I did at the convention. Well I met up with my friend Jared he found out literally last minute I'd be there he and I had not expected to meet up for quite some time. Now we know we're both in the same state and likely no more than an hour or so away. So I didn't go alone, and it gives comfort to know I have at least ONE friend I can see here in Georga. Who that friend is to me is amazing.
He got himself a nice Partial fursuit and to be honest much of my entertainment was just watching him exploring around in it. Taking pictures and meeting fuzzies in fursuit. Between that we were from time to time eating or in our room. During much of such time I was hand drawing art for peoples.
Sometime yesterday my favorite experience would have to be when I'd asked a group of about five suiters to help me with a photo where they'd all gather around me and just hug me and I'd make it look like it was all awkward. Then many many suiters flocked around me. So much so that in the last pictures you can't even see me anymore really. :P It was amazing. Even more so amazing at how hot they felt through the suits. You guys are awesome spending all that time in a suit perhaps one day I'll join you in that and have one of my own. Its a goal of mine. Until that day comes however I'll just admire you guys for it and maybe make friends with you if possible. :)
If I missed any of you guys at FA I'm sorry I really really am I would have loved to meet ANYONE there who recognized me. Never the less I'm certain this will not be my last convention. Perhaps I'll see you next time lovers!

Wowsers!
Posted 9 years agoSo like, I looked over my watches today, and I saw that I'm about 150 watchers away from 1000 watches. I never actually though that I would get anywhere near that many follows. It makes me want to cry. I mean I know its not an incredible amount in comparison directly. but like when I first joined FA a lot of the artists I followed back when I was new to the fandom had often 6-800 watches, and I feel myself actually as good as a lot of my favorite artists were when I first got in. It makes me feel like I might be getting somewhere one day with my art. I've always felt like a "formidable" artist, nothing more at least in digital art. Though after all these years and two tablets, 3 machines, and one more on the way. I think it is safe to say I'm here to stay and you guys have given me a place, be it in your art to adore, or your fap collection, and I love you guys for it!!! Thank you all so much, when I DO finally reach 1000 do keep an eye open I'm sure I'll do something late or not, I'll make sure its not just any old raffle every other artist and their mother does. It'll be something that people and myself will remember if I can help it.
Never the less guys. I love all of your attention, I love all of your comments and your support means the world to me, I would be nowhere and have no purpose what-so-ever if it was not for you all.
Also, don't be afraid to talk to me, like I know how it is. I've been in your position before and still am, I'm not some pop-u-fur at least not yet, I know the stage fright to talk to an artist I love listening to you guys, I love your comments, I love when people tell me their ideas and thoughts, I love all of those things, whether I do them or not. Don't be afraid to chat with me. Send me a note, shout, comment or whatever. As long as you're positive towards me and others I love hearing from you.~

Q&A Goals Aspirations and Web Comic Stuff.
Posted 9 years agoSo over the year so far, I've gotten a lot of new watchers. :D I never thought I'd even have half this many, which is awesome. It really means a lot to me guys thank you so much <3 <3
That being said I don't want to sound super cocky I know I'm no super-famed fur, but to be honest getting over the 600 watcher hurdle means the world to me let alone 800 this is like wow. You guys are so awesome. Back several years ago a lot of the artists I watched when I first got onto the fandom had this many watches thats probably what makes this feel so awesome. I feel like I've got an amount of watchers that makes me feel much more proud of myself.
I don't want to just let it go to my head and stop though. I want to grow. I want my art to reach a much larger community so that one day I can make as many people happy as I possibly can.
I will tell you guys my plans and goals for the next few months if you're interested in listening.
Lately I've been doing as many commissions as I can get myself up to doing. Its a bit overwhelming but somehow I'm still alive. That being said those of you who are still waiting I haven't forgotten you don't worry. Its just hard to prioritize them so I do my best to keep track of a balance between who's waited the longest, who's gotten more art from me, and who's poked me the most. Its nothing to do with my own ideal of preference and nothing to do with who's commission appeals the most. C: I DO try to duke out at least one large tf possession commission thingy every so often so that people who watch me for that get something new to look at. :D
I'm also planning on picking up on doing webcomics again. That being said. I HAVE done some concept art and I've began brainstorming the plot of the webcomic. Your opinions on that and your questions on that would be greatly appreciated. And please if a webcomic is something you guys want to see me succeed at remember I am not super huge right now, I do need all of the help I can get. Please feel free to post journals to my FA, and also follow me on twitter I want to get use out of that as well. https://twitter.com/LEOxOwens I want to grow as an artist and I want my media to become something that can leave a lasting impression.
I also wanna know what kind of questions you have about my work, my posts, and my characters. I want people to get to know me and my creations. You guys and my art its pretty much everything I have to strive for as a person, so I wanna keep going on with this as best as I can.
That being said, Q&A ask me anything and I will answer honestly, and please do feel free to share my page or this journal. If I find a question entertaining enough I may even make a doodle about it, we'll see how it goes. C:

An answer to a somewhat common qestion
Posted 9 years agoSo I've had a few people asking me if I'm going to do another possession sequence. the short answer.
Yes
The long answer, I'm currently working on one, along with several other commissions. I am getting them done slowly but surely, I'm going to try my best to get a solid chunk of them done this week, but I cannot promise as art doesn't really work like that. If it becomes too much of a forced quota then it becomes a chore, if it becomes a chore it looses that spark of creativity that it deserves, then there's real life things going on that I would rather not get into in too much detail.
If there are any other questions you guys have that you'd like to ask, fuck tmi Tuesday, just ask. C: I LOVE getting questions. Ask away.

Idea Pitch[watchers and all pls read your opinion requested]
Posted 10 years agoSo I had this idea of something I could use to explore different branches of artwork while still being able to do art to sale without solely working on commissions and commissions alone. I make a lot of art and characters that I never use so I had an idea of making use for them.
So I'm thinking I'll stuff several arts of any type into a folder then posting a glimpse of what's inside sort of as a tease to wet your interests. Then to sell the entire folders at a set price. All folders would have the same price and of course more art inside them than what their price would be if sold individually. The idea is like one of those "grab bag" sales. This would also be good for helping me organize things.
Of course any characters and art in the folder would legitimately become yours. [less of course it features LEO or something by some odd twist of fate not that I plan on doing that but I should still cover that just in case I make a mistake or something.]
What do you guys think of that? C: Feedback on this idea would be much appreciated.
