I want to avoid politics as much as possible, with everything being terrible lately, but recent events have me wanting to make this clear:

Everyone knows that snakes are good, right?
And everyone knows that cocks are good too.
This implies, of course, that snakecocks are double good.

Everyone also knows that  amethystine is an amazing writer, yes?
And everyone knows that long stories by amazing authors are good.

And of course everyone knows that transformation is good.
It is also an undisputed fact that unconventional body layouts are good.

So how does a novel-length story by Amethystine about snakecocks, transformation, and generally weird body plans sound? Quadruple good, no? Maybe even quintuple good? How about you go give this a look and decide for yourself?




So I've been reading this lately (full disclosure: Amethystine gave me a copy to review free of charge) and I have to say, it really is excellent. I have no complaints about the writing style, which is (as is usual for Amethystine) excellent, and my one and only complaint would be the inclusion of several turn-offs of mine, but of course that same part I would complain about would be someone else's favorite part; "there's something for everyone" really does apply here.
Of course the focus is snakecocks, but there are many many different variations on that theme in the story, keeping it interesting the whole way through. Amethystine explores a vast space of possibilities--if you're thinking "well I wonder if he included this snakecock-themed idea" then chances are the answer's yes. Yes, even that. There have been several cases as I read it where I thought "surely this isn't going in that direction..." followed by "oh, well, I guess it did."
It starts out fairly tame (as tame as the daily life of a gargoyle and her snakecock can be, anyway) and gets progressively weirder and weirder as it goes on.

Overall, absolutely would recommend.

If anyone's been wondering where I've been on IMs and stuff, I've been around! But I've changed my name to Felthry, so look for me under that name.

The reasons for doing so are personal and not something I want to go into. Nothing bad has happened, though, and I'm still the same shapeshifter, just with a new name and a new look... which I will get around to writing up a description for sometime.

I would really appreciate it if people referred to me as Felthry from now on. I'll still answer to Xolroc, but I prefer Felthry.

It seems everyone's moving to either that or Telegram, and I don't like Telegram's requirement that you tie a phone number to the account. But is it worth using Discord? Or should I get over my misgivings and use Telegram?

My main IM system is still XMPP, it's just frustrating that half the people I talk to have no idea what that is.

Apologies to all for my absence lately. I do still exist, and I'm not in any danger or anything. I had a massive anxiety spike about a week and a half ago, and I'm still not feeling back up to being online yet. I will be back, though; I just can't say when. Probably not too long from now.

My complete radio silence on tumblr is unrelated; for whatever reason, I can't seem to access the site anymore. I've heard others complain about problems with a new firewall at the university, so it could be related to that. Hopefully, that will be fixed soon.

My condolences to the friends and family of the late  jasentamiia. He was a great artist, and one of those people I kept telling myself I'd try to talk to at some point... I suppose I was too late.

I've been using this one for a very long time, and as much as I like it I feel like I should change it up at least occasionally--so I've changed to this one, a crop from a picture done for me a while back by Inquis!

The submission with my old description of Alder seemed too short to stand on its own to me, so I moved it to the description of the image. Nothing's been lost, don't worry!

A very close friend from a while back, who had to cut contact with me and many others very suddenly about a year ago, has just returned to weasyl and posted some art. It would seem that I never unfollowed them from here… and really, I don’t know if I want to. I enjoy their art. But the memories… They’re very bittersweet. I’m not in much shape for socialization at the moment. Sorry to anyone hoping to talk.

I don’t know if I want to try to reestablish contact with them. I don’t know how to go about doing that, either. I seem to still be on their ignore list.

I do miss them, but I don’t know if trying to talk to them again is a good idea or if it will just be bad times all around for both of us.

I really need to post here more. I'm done with my finals, though! Basically certain I've passed everything, but I won't know my grades until Tuesday. I'm at home now, for a couple weeks, before the summer semester starts; I'm taking one class in the summer to lighten my courseload for the remaining semesters.

Apparently this completely unrelated site bought out FA and the entire thing seems very fishy. I'm expecting it to be an april fools joke but if it's not then I really want to get a lot of my stuff off of this site. If I do, I will be posting everything to weasyl.
Even if this is an april fools joke, this whole thing is too anxiety-provoking to me. They really made a mess of this.

You may have noticed I've not posted anything recently, and a lot of what I have here has still yet to be posted on Weasyl.
I apologize for that.

I've got quite a lot of stuff that I need to do, that I need to write descriptions for, that I need to get things sounding just perfect before posting.
I have an anxiety disorder that leads to problems trying to get things actually done as things pile up. I'm unable to easily break down a big problem into several small ones, which leads to problems with various things, including posting a backlog.
I've not been posting journals as much as I used to, either; I've been primarily active on IRC (check in #weird or #modular on Furnet or #afterdark on WZLnet; I use several different names for different shapes, but they always start with 'xol'), XMPP (xolroc@prettyshiny.org), and skype (xolroc) lately.

If there is something you know of that I have yet to post anywhere, please do send me a message and let me knwo what it is! I'd like to get this backlog cleared out.

And sorry again for that.

An artist on this site has just posted a journal talking about suicide; he needs people to help him realize that he's making the wrong decision.

I am really really sorry about that! I am quite awkward and there's basically a huge (percieved) barrier to entry into any sort of friendship to me! I need to be able to get comfortable talking to you and unless I actually talk to you that doesn't happen, so if I'm not yet comfortable talking to you I'm not likely to talk to you so I won't GET comfortable talking to you so it's a generally stuck sort of situation ;.;

So no I don't hate you or anything! I just haven't managed to overcome that barrier to entry and get comfortable with you.

Will be staying until thursday, so don't expect me to be too active until next friday!
