Level up! My road to become an ancient dragon (and thus, a fearsome Final Boss) continues.
Today is one of those rare days that tag you as an older person... I'm glad they happen only once per year.

On a side note, I wanted to apology for being a bit too silent on FA and unable to keep track of private messages, or send replies at an alarmingly slow pace. The last two years have been a rollercoaster of strange happenings irl (sudden eviction, losing a member of my family, health issues, changes of plans, etc), and taking care of them have been draining a lot of my time and energy. Here's hoping I can make things get back to normal soon, or at least that's the plan.

April 4th hit the calendar, which means that I exiled myself from a safer place to land in this inhospitable world 32 years ago.

I must admit it's a bittersweet celebration... I have been dealing with health issues I'd prefer to avoid explaining until the doctors do all the proper check ups and give me what I need to get back to normal, so no cake for me until then.

On a side note, my apologies for my lack of communication to all those who sent me notes and emails some time ago and are still waiting for a reply, I didn't forget about you at all. March was going to be a happy month for me, being able to enjoy more free time and more communication with people... but my health wanted to state otherwise, which made me cancel a lot of personal plans. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon.

First of all, a -belated- general thank you for the birthday wishes! I appreciate them a lot :)

I'm considering a small upgrade for my PC soon, when I can afford it... maybe around summer. With the upgrade, I'm planning to do a "fresh start" with Windows 10, so here comes my question:

Is it worth upgrading to W10?

I'm sticking with Windows 7 atm and I know a few things about W10 (specially related to its built-in "spying features", and how to disable them), but I'd like to know about its reliability and performance. I took a look around a lot of forums and I keep finding a mixed reviews, which is why I'd like to hear personal opinions from you, specially if you're a W10 user/ex user. Thank you in advance!

Also, I'm turning 30 on April 4th! Honestly I must admit I'm a bit intimidated by that number... so I think it's time to stop counting my age on inches before I turn into a horse. I'm probably staying 25+ forever :P


On a side note, someone noticed me that I just hit 1 million visits here in FA. I'm not really the kind of person who pays attention to numbers, but that doesn't stop me from being thankful for such a nice milestone.

I was talking with a friend of mine about dragons' designs, specially the horns and ears... and I came up with a personal dilemma since I'm drawing a dragon right now.

Just curious: How do you prefer anthro dragon characters? You can choose up to 2 options:

A- Horns only, please. So thick, interestingly-shaped and pointy.
B- No horns, no ears.
C- Combo: Ears and horns.
D- Ears only.

And yes, I know I posted a post like this time ago... about wings instead. Head details are more important, imo :P

Self-explanatory journal title! According to certain urban legend, I woke up with 29 inches of dragon love today.

Yay or nay? I don't know. All I know is... that I'm so close to the "big 30". Ugh.

First of all, thank you for your replies in my last journal. Consider this journal a sequel of the previous one :P

I spent the last week reading thousands of reviews (besides all your comments) about different GPUs to determine my choice before buying a new one and "repair" my computer, so I can be an active dragon again, specially art and gaming wise.

Atm, I'm between the GTX 660 (Nvidia) and the R9 270 (AMD :x), but I'm open to consider other options as long as the price doesn't go beyond 150-200 bucks or the power consumption is not too high.

Question:
What GPU do you have in your PC?

I'm a techie (and a computers nerd), so I know a thing or two about GPU numbers and stats, but honestly... personal experience can beat all that knowledge. That's why I would love to hear about your experience with your current graphics card :)

On a side note, is someone with the R9 270/270x/280/280x suffering blinking or artifact issues? I heard that they're pretty common in that card and some people had to flash its BIOS.
