Rules & General
• requests can only be made during the stream by a "first come, first serve" basis
• only one per person
• headshots only; can draw most types of characters. no mechs/robots
• to make a request, you must wait until i say i'm ready for the next one. whoever types the password first gets the spot

when sending your character refs, keep in mind:
• SFW references ONLY
• no written descriptions; references must be visual. only preexisting designs, i will not be designing on the spot.

hey all! figured i should give a little update

to be honest, i have not been in the best place recently. i have been through the mental and emotional wringer these last few months. still in recovery and dealing with the aftermath of hurricane helene and with the recent presidential election (i'm in the US) my mental health has taken an absolute beating! to simply say i'm stressed is an understatement. i don't have the energy right now to schedule the rest of my art backlog; i worked on some really cool commissions last month and am excited to share them when i get around to it. you can find them on my bluesky for now: https://bsky.app/profile/xredmoon.bsky.social

i have yet to even be able to start the new job i got before the storm; i can't just go find something else because there's not anything besides construction jobs available right now and my physical health prevents me from doing that kind of work. i'm planning to contact my employer on monday, just to see where things are at.

all the stress has made it very difficult to draw-- even when i have the motivation, my ability to focus has been spotty at best.
i am so incredibly grateful for everyone who commissioned me during and after helene, but i'm VERY glad i was able to complete all those orders before tuesday; i've been a mess all week. i'm still open to taking commissions, but just know that progress on anything will be really slow for the next while-- i'll be sure to keep in touch with commissioners should anyone order anything. unfortunately, still have to make money somehow; i gotta feed my dog

i think the biggest thing affecting me right now is that i won't be reaching the one goal i had set out for this year, and that was finishing my currently running comic by 2025. i'm trying to come to terms that i won't be able to finish it, but that's really difficult when i want it completed so badly. there's a lot of frustration but my lack of drawing focus is just shot. i'll get over it, and the project will be done, just not in the time i had hoped for it to be. lot of learning to be had: i'm not as quick at making comic pages OR drawing as i used to be and i need to find a way to make the process still look nice while also being more manageable. still, it's just another thing that's been affecting me as of late.

in better news, i've picked up crocheting again! i usually only do so about once a year but i want to make it an actual hobby. i'm going to make so many fun little amigurumi for my friends and family. but that's all from me. taking things one day at a time and doing what i can to get through the month.

i'm here with some updates regarding where i've been.

about two weeks ago, the small town i recently moved into was hit by and destroyed by hurricane helene. the city nearby had its water systems completely destroyed and things were really bad. by some miracle, my family and our house got away unscathed; we've thankfully had water and power most of the time but we are still without internet for the forseeable future; our internet provider has simply not responded to our inquires so i have no means of really being able to write updates or upload anything. i'm only now able to write this by being at a friend's house who does have an internet connection. we got cell service back earlier this week, so any little bit of connection i can do is through that.

the monday before the storm, i had gotten hired for a new job but it's been put on hold indefinitely and i won't be able to start until things have recovered. i haven't lost the job, but i am still in need of financial assistance to help with some expenses until i CAN start working. commissions are open indefinitely until then and any little bit of sharing around would help me immensely 🙏🙏 if you want something not formally offered (like stream emotes), send me a message and i can give you a quote or discuss it with you!

Rules + General

• headshots only; i can draw humanoids, ferals and some types of anthros.
• to make a request, you must wait until you see a raffle appear in the chat. you have to click to enter; after a certain time has passed, the raffle will roll and a winner will be picked. you have to reenter each time a new raffle begins.
• when sending your character references keep in mind:

hey there! been a while.
you're probably wondering where I've been for the past few months
i hope this journal can help explain a few things

sparing most of the details, this year has been rough and life came at me super duper fast:
i had to move very suddenly back in june and one of my cats had to have emergency surgery in july
the events leading up to and the june move are what have largely prevented me from getting to draw
i've also been sick from allergies for the past few days so it's seemingly one thing after another.
the reason for my moving is ongoing and will probably still affect my activity outside of close circles.
those who know what's going on, thank you for your patience with me it's appreciated so much.

and now that i've been able to settle in my new place, I feel like i'm finally able to create again.
i was able to participate in artfight a little and it was a much needed break from it all -
i will be posting the pieces i made for this year eventually.
all this said, i have some changes i'd like to make.

i've done nothing but commission work this whole year and it's been draining my art stamina.
with my unpredictable schedule i haven't been able to complete pieces as quickly as i'd like to,
which is not fair to my commissioners, and having to make them wait for so long has me stupidly stressed out.
after i finish my current batch from the people who helped me pay for my cat's surgery,
i will not be taking commissions for the foreseeable future.

to the raffle winners on furaffinity from back in april,
i have not forgotten your prizes,
they will be worked on after my commission queue

my plan moving forward is to find a day job and work on my own projects in my downtime
i want to turn art back into a hobby rather than a fulltime job
i haven't been able to spend time to improve my own art outside of drawing for someone else for so long and it's been wearing on me.
i have a list of things i've started and want to pick back up again and hopefully i'll be able to share them when they're completed
who knows, maybe i'll finally be able to pull Of Rain and Snow out of hiatus and see it through to completion.

there's no changes to my patreon at this time.
i've been having a blast designing stickers each month and want to continue with that.
hopefully once i get into the swing of things, i'll be able to have early access comic pages available again, for both ORAS and future projects

i'll be scheduling my backlog of posts... eventually. whenever i find the time to sit and do it really.
there's not a whole lot but there's at least some and i hope you look forward to seeing it!

just wanted to give a quick update about some changes i've made to my commissions! please take the time to read them over!

1) i have raised the prices on everything except for mini(s) and changed some things around. monochrome sketches are a higher tier than before due to the time it takes and effort put in to create them. they're now on par with colored sketches but priced a little lower. the YCHs page is currently hidden as i am not interested in creating more at this time.
2) i have gotten rid of the "anthro" fee! i feel i'm competent enough at drawing them now that i no longer have to charge extra. however certain types of anthro characters may still require an added complexity fee (this may be applicable to all characters and not just anthro ones)
3) i've reworked the "complexity fee". it is no longer a flat rate of $15. there is now a range that differs per type of commission- said range is listed on the prices. i am willing to give a quote to anyone who requests one.
4) prices are exclusively listed as "fullbody" drawings. i don't get asked to do headshots often enough to warrant keeping them as a formal option, however if you are interested in something other than a fullbody please contact me and we can talk about what the price would be! otherwise the mini(s) are always an option (and are fun for me to do!)
5) i will no longer be offering slots or posting when i have them available. commissions will now be an "inquiry only" system meaning if you want to commission me, please contact me via either DMs or email (xredmooncomics@gmail.com). if i can't accept your commission right away but am interested in working on it later i will let you know! inquires (including quotes) will always be open.

i believe that should be all. i've been suffering from serious burnout all year and am trying to alleviate some of that stress. if there's anything i missed i'll be sure to add it! thank you <3
