Hey folks!
Today is the annual Extra Life charity livestream event that I like to support each year, and like previous years, I'm doing some art things for people who donate and send me proof of their donations.
The event starts at 12PM EST and goes till like... 7AM the following morning. Youtubers Stephen Georg and his wife Mal host this event every year, and the theme this year is Wii Games! All the proceeds go to the Macleod Children's Hospital. Their goal for this year is to reach 77,777$
Like last year, I'm very much pushing for them to play "The Munchables" which didn't end up getting played last year. Make sure to write the name of the game in your note, or else it will go towards the roulette pool.
Unlike previous years, I can't do full commission-like drawings as thanks, but I can do small doodles or at most some colored sketches of the character you send me; the higher the donation, the more effort will be put into the piece.

Plans for October [Commissions, Comics Etc.]
Posted 4 years ago-I need some time to draw stuff for myself, so I'm taking a break from regular commissions.
The only thing available will be an upcoming Halloween YCH available on 10/3/21 for the whole month. After that they'll be gone until next year.

Due to how crazy this month has been for my work flow, I'm doing YCHs only this week, but if you buy two, you get one free
YCHS are easier to make than regular commissions. You can mix and match which YCHs you get, but the free one will be equivalent to the maximum amount you paid.
(ie. if you pay for two 15$ ychs, you can only get a 15$ one free; if you pay for a 15$ and a 20$ one, you can pick any of them).

August is here, and that means commissions are finally open again!!
Since last time, I have raised my prices to reflect the time and effort I've put into each piece and changed a few points in my T.O.S. just to clarify some things. The biggest change was with Colored Sketches since their quality has significantly increased since I started making them; I have also merged "cell shaded" and "painterly" to create one category of "rendered". The new prices factor in Paypal's new policy on their cut of the profits.
This month, I will be testing the waters with a slot based system every week to see how I manage, and will be making adjustments as I see fit.

Weasyl! It's a great site!! But it's so quiet over there, it needs more traction! I like it alot and I want more people to use it!
It's a well rounded "gallery" style site, that allows you to post not just images, but also literature, videos and even music!
NSFW artwork is allowed, but the rating sytem is taken extremely seriously (unlike deviantart who just let's people post whatever >.>) The site has an emphasis on the tagging system which can not only help you get your artwork found by others, but it ALSO has a tag filter!! So if you dont want to see a certain type of artwork, you can block that tag.
The tagging system IS important and helps filter content. Please take the tags seriously and don't post joketags on your artwork.
There is a decent amount of customization (not nearly as extensive as classic deviantart) but I like the look of the pages over all.
One of my favorite systems is the "collection" system where you can store artwork other people on the site has made for you. It adds it to a "gallery" on your page, but links back to the original post and gives the original artist some love and attention!
They currently have a "spambot" protection up, where new accounts must be verified by an active member, but if you make an account feel free to send it to me and I'll verify it for you!

Updates, Commissions + More!

Hope everyone is doing well~
I'm here to talk about a few things, and some updates and where to go for the future so let's delve into it.
General Life Update
Within the past few months and without going into the details of it, I recently withdrew from college. This past year was tough on everyone; I had transferred colleges last summer and spent two more semesters entirely online at this new one before deciding it wasn't working out. There's a lot more factoring into the decision as a whole, but I would like to keep those to myself and out of the public sphere. It was one of the best desicions I've ever made, and my mental health is slowly but surely getting better as a result. But that being said, I am now a full-time artist and not a student. I am fortunate enough to be living at home with my parents still, but I will be putting my efforts into saving up so I can eventually move out. But this brings me to my next point-

I will be officially opening commissions back up in August, just after ArtFight ends. Since I'm making this my full-time job (at least until I find something else to do part-time) along with the updated Paypal policy where they're increasing their cut of the profits, I will be raising and reworking my prices to reflect not only my growth in skills, but also the time it takes to create the pieces. With these factors in place I should be able to take a certain amount of slots a week, but I'm still playing things by ear.
I am currently taking the time to update some of my examples as well; the most notable difference being in cell-shaded pieces since I've discovered a technique I like very much.
I am also going through and updating my T.O.S, so if you're a frequent commissioner of mine, please make sure you go ahead and read that to see new changes!

You may have noticed that I've had some posts these past few months that have the "Patreon" logo slapped on them. I reopened my Patreon but haven't have the proper chance to promote it, since I was finishing up school along with life getting in the way, and even now this isn't entirely how I hoped to promote it but better something than nothing eh?
I originally reopened it to help raise funds so my mom and I could open a shop in town together, but that plan is being reworked and I am now putting the funds (just like commissions) towards saving up to move out of my parent's house. After ArtFight, along with commissions I'm planning on putting some more focus back on my writing and comic making (something I haven't had the chance to do since high school) and will be starting with finishing the production of "Of Rain and Snow" my Warriors fancomic. The comic will be Patreon exclusive until I complete all the pages. Patrons receive access to my exclusive discord server, as well as the top two most tiers getting art rewards each month-though the slots are limited (I might raise them, depending). Have you been enjoying the daily uploads? I'm amazed I've been able to keep up with them for as long as I have, but that being said my queue is empty starting on the 12th.
Because I won't be able to produce anything new for a little bit longer, I'm going to start uploading some of the Art Fight attacks from last year I never got around to posting. There's currently 36 images I never uploaded, and the plan is to post the old art until I have new material, then alternate between old and new until all the pieces are uploaded.
I have two more weeks of school (one week of classes, one week of finals) before the semester is over in which I'll have another anouncement coming out soonish! Keep an eye out.

art backlog incoming
Posted 5 years agohey! been a little bit- gonna start having my art backlog scheduled so there should be daily uploads for at least a little bit.
haven't been working on much art this month since the last commission project i worked on hit me hard with burnout; not sure when i'll open comms back up but for now, enjoy the uploads (it's mostly commissions from the beginning of the month)
