Life OST (I can't believe I'm doing this...
Posted 17 years agoStolen from Rakeesh!
1. Open your music library.
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button.
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.
7. ???
8. PROFIT!
Songs:
Opening Credits:
"Sapphire Bullets of Love" by They Might Be Giants
Waking Up:
"Bledsoe Blvd." by Steve Vai
(this really sounds like a wake-up song... so far everything sounds really distorted and weird)
First Day At School:
"Free Fall" by Cornelius
Falling In love:
"Irresistiblement" a DDR song
(wow... a song actually about romance? Weird...)
Fight Song:
"$$$$" by Desparecidos
(this would be kind of a lame fight)
Breaking Up:
"Crown of Love" by Arcade Fire
(good fit!)
Prom:
"Bug (electric Last Minute)" by Cornelius
(fyi, this song is really short and spasmodic, kind of like my dancing style)
Life's OK:
"Boom!" by System of a Down
(a song about the horrors of modern life. What does this tell you?)
Mental Breakdown:
"Whirlwind" by Autechre
(a really glitchy, 11-minute techno odyssey. How fitting.)
Driving:
"Jungle Totem" by Robyn Miller
(a song from Myst. not like driving at all)
Flashback:
"Get on Top" by Red Hot Chili Peppers
(...wut?)
Getting Back Together:
"Breezin'" by Cornelius
(my library likes cornelius way too much...)
Wedding:
"The Boxer" by Simon and Garfunkel
(Won't bode well for my relationship...)
Birth of Child:
"Head Like a Hole" by Nine Inch Nails
(Meaning my child is going to either be the antichrist or a dumbass)
Final Battle:
"Ball & Biscuit" by the White Stripes
(again, a boring fight)
Death Scene:
"I Gotta Move" by Ben Kweller
(again, unless it's a happy thing that I die)
Funeral Song:
"Jacqueline" by Franz Ferdinand
(hell yes)
End Credits:
"Nuguns" by System of a Down

Genetics
Posted 17 years agoSo, it seems I've relocated to a new area in the anthro community. I think I've become one of those muscle-fur fans that actually wants to try bodybuilding. GREAT IDEA, AMIRITE? Well, sorta. Six weeks on and I'm not seeing any changes (well, there was that week I took off to get back on track at work, oh, and the fact that I don't eat enough to gain weight, but OH WELL).
I think that even if I did these things right, it wouldn't change much anyway, just because I have naturally longer appendages than most people. And people with longer appendages don't necessarily get bigger in terms of muscle.
Nonetheless, this "exercise" thing is just something I do on the side.
(freakin' genetics)

Less Muscle Art
Posted 17 years agoThe time has come for me to branch out. From this point on, I'm going to do as little muscle work as possible, as I try to focus on my own exercising rather than fantasizing about characters that I might *want* to look like.
The moment I finish this post, I will be going through and deleting my less popular muscle works, leaving up only those that I feel have defined my style. Taking the cream of the crop, so to speak.
In addition, I am venturing into the realm of webcomics that involve characters with normal physiques in (somewhat) normal situations. Whenever I have something to submit, it will be one of these.
I feel like this is the right thing to do. Being in this community has caused a lot of personal confusion for me, and I feel that this is the best way to reconcile it. I apologize in advance to anyone this motion will affect, and I hope you can understand where I am coming from.
Namaste.

John Locke
Posted 17 years agoZOMG! I finished an entire season of LOST today... not sure whether to say i'm pathetic or just extraordinarily determined.
I don't think I'll be able to sleep for a week.

A Lesson in Lurking
Posted 17 years agoSo it seems that 4-chan's demand to... how you say... "LURK MOAR" has finally become known to me, as all I have really been doing on FA now is lurking. An empty bottle of Izze is staring me in the face, pleading only that i end its hollow existence by throwing it in the trashcan. But alas, my fingers remain compelled to stick to the keyboard and stray away from the drawing pad (everything can give you cancer these days, :D).
The unusual will of my hands is not the only thing keeping me away from drawing: the other culprit is my new job. I've joined the masses across the nation that work the standard 9 to 5, except for the fact that I work the 7:45 to 3:45 due to my offset sleeping pattern. And yes, it is a desk job, and no, it does not induce suicidal thoughts. Programming microchips is an OK job, but it is certainly something I don't want to do past summer.
Nonetheless, I seriously wish I had more time/inspiration/vigor/will/Izze/caffeine to produce artworks of questionable quality rather than just lurking around here.
Then again... to lurk moar is to learn moar.

Convinced That I'm Dr. Robert Neville
Posted 17 years agoI swear that on the weekends I'm living scenes from "I Am Legend."
I wake up at about 8 on saturdays and sundays, and as I walk around campus "foraging" for something to eat, I notice that nobody's around. Not a single person is on the sidewalk, nor are the janitors out doing their business.
No one is around until 5 ish. That's when the drunken beasts arise at night to begin their raucous, howling rituals. When it really gets bad, I lock the door and pull the covers over my head, trying to fall asleep to the feral whooping opera going on outside. Oh sure, it goes away after awhile, but I never completely go to sleep, knowing that another beastly night is just around the corner.
Even as I write this, there is nobody outside. It has always impressed me how people sleep in so late.

Life Without Photoshop
Posted 17 years agoEven though in college, it's become easier to complete artwork without the over bearing presence of friends or family, the fact that my new computer does not have photoshop still continues to haunt me.
Believe me, if I had the opportunity and if the legal stakes werent so high, I would readily torrent the damn thing. But to me, that isn't right because, unlike torrenting a CD or computer game, you're technically stealing around $700 of quality programming. Due to my experiences in computer science, I have realized how much time and effort goes into programming even the simplest of algorithms. In short, I'm not giving the creators of photoshop their dues.
But once again, I digress horribly. To get to the point, looking for solitude and photoshop in computer labs is a pain in the ass. Either you get into a completely empty room with computers that do not have photoshop, or you get into a crowded room with computers that DO have photoshop... there's no easy way out. That is, unless I want to become one of those unfortunate night-owls that have sold their souls to the school computers. (fortunately we have none of those :/ )
So, I have chosen the latter option... being a night owl. Perhaps now I can start cranking out the so-called "quality art" that people want from me. (though I can hardly call it quality. It's mainly just what I feel like drawing at any given time.)
College furs, just how do you cope? Or how did you?

More Art, Hopefully
Posted 18 years agoYes, I know I've been dead for awhile, even after I actually managed to crank out some good stuff.
I was on a mini-roll.
But anyway, I have a few new things coming your way, just to let you know that I'm still around.
So yay.

I love the new Banner!
Posted 18 years agoYes, FA's new banner is fantastic. It really captures the feeling of fall without words.
It makes me reminisce on times when I used to live in a place that actually had 4 seasons as opposed to where I live now, where there are only two: hot and cold. (notice how i didn't use the actual season names.)

Brain Out of Body
Posted 18 years agoI've been extremely absent from drawing lately, and here's why.
The college environment has me both busy and constantly stimulated. Surprisingly, there are many places to have privacy... more than I would ever have at home. But that's obviously not the problem.
Essays suck, so naturally I have a ton of them to write. YAY HONORS COURSES!!! *Jumps off bridge*
Because I've been beating it over the head with nonfiction and logos, my nonsensical imagination hates me. It also hates me because I work it to death with the occasional pinch of salvia every now and then (regrettable, I know). Thus, it almost constantly has no energy to contribute to the drawing of massive dragons.
Quite frankly, I miss my mental freedom.

Returning
Posted 18 years agoAfter a long time away from FA, I have finally decided to come back.
I know I've inconvenienced and disappointed a lot of you in the past and there's no erasing that.
However, I still find my self drawn the the anthro art culture and I have decided that this is what I do. I will continue to submit things whenever I can and even If I do or do not hear from anyone, I will continue to draw and create.
I guess I am an artist after all.

Time for an Update
Posted 19 years agoYeah, I know everyone else is doing this, but it's a really great idea and a really great way to get to know the artist.

An Appeal/Concern
Posted 19 years agoWell, I can see that all the displaced mindless-sex anthro artists are coming here after being kicked out of Y!Gallery.
Dunno about everyone else, but I don't really want to see male genitalia every time I log on to the starting-page of this website. Yeah, I know this site is supposed to be an amnesty for anyone who draws anthro, but wouldn't that blatant-sex-themes-on-the-starting-page-thing worsen our image?
Not that I'm advocating suffocation of expression, but perhaps those things should be kept off the starting page so as to not startle any non-blatant-sex appreciators or artists. Perhaps it should be placed within a "mature location" or maybe they should have some kind of warning pasted on to them as a thumbnail. Yes, I know what SheezyArt tried to do with that and how it more than lowered its popularity, but there's got to be some other kind of solution.
Yeah, sex is nice, but it shouldn't be shoved in one's face in the form of a giant (insert sex part here).

Down With the Sickness
Posted 19 years agoI swear to christ, I'm going to kill all of the health inspectors that inspect the salami companies. I got this horrid stomach virus that had me regurgitating my... ok, perhaps I dont want to gross people out, but it was bad. What a great way to start the summer break! Staying in bed shivering from fever chills all day! w00t!
I watched the film version of the producers last night, and I think that's assisting in my recovery. The gay people in it are hilarious, especially the guy that hisses the "s" in "yes" for nearly a full minute.
Oh well, thats all for now. Cyaz

PING!!
Posted 19 years agoWell, UIL academics is finally over. Blew about $40 at an arcade, beat LA Machine Guns, House of the Dead 4 and played countless rounds of DDR, but all in all it was a good waste of money.
Once again, I am not dead... yet. Just havent had time to draw stuff. But if you have a request or want to trade or anything, I'm open.
Thats all for now!

Has Anybody Noticed...
Posted 20 years agoSo, here's a formal journal entry, as well as a thought for everybody. But first, I want to recount an experience.
Today, I went to see "The Chronicles of Narnia" after seeing King Kong, and then the Return of The King the day before. All three were great movies. But then I realized something. Not one of those films was entirely original. They were all based off of a previous movie or a book, even. Sure, this fact is obvious for films like these, but doesn't it reveal something about the level of creativity of film directors nowadays?
Believe it or not, it's diminishing.
Although all of these films are visually creative and fun to watch, they're not ORIGINAL. They all continue a previous film, like the newer star wars movies, or they all base themselves off the creativity of some author. The idea is, basically, regurgitated. What happened to the creativity of films like the stylistic genius of the Incredibles, or the outright hilarity of Monty Python or Amelie? Are directors losing their ability to create? Are they becoming consumed by the un-creativeness of our consumer society? How come we can't chrun out films like Miyazaki's "Spirited Away" or Hitchcock's "Rear Window"?
I know that some of you out there notice this. Take a look at films made in the past five or six years and just see how many were based on a book or how many are a sequel of something more successful. We need to jumpstart our creativity. We need to keep reading, witnessing and creating so we can add some NEW flavor to our world. Though the tastes of the past may be good, they get boring, and that same flavor still seeps through the new spices added to it (spices being visual effects or other things added to remakes).
True, there may be some of you that may like how the film industry is going, and I'm definitely not saying that the "revived" stories are bad. We just need to start making some of our OWN, ORIGINAL things before the re-makes go out of style.
And yes, this seems a bit un-furry, but I've put this out there. Just want to see if anyone's noticed.

ITS ABOUT FRIGGIN' TIME!
Posted 20 years agoFinally, this website is back on its feet. You know, I really gave up on it for awhile and made the shameful decision to show my work at Y! gallery... which kind of irks me in ways I wont discuss here.
Sucks that all my pix are gone though... but rebuilding doesn't have to be hard.
