Life update/I seriously need to give refunds

A hell of a lot has happened in that time for me, and I hate that my art, this site and my friends and customers alike have taken the brunt of the hit because of it.
I'm honestly super ashamed of myself that it's taken me this long to address it.
Ive gone through more job changes than I'd care to admit in this time frame. There's just nothing available right now that can adequately cover the current cost of living crisis the UK is going through right now, which is also affecting job stability and availability because employers would sooner just lower their work forces and work the remaining staff to death than actually pay a living wage.
But back to the main point of this journal.
I once again need to ask you all whether you would like refunds or not.
If you wish to receive a refund, I will be returning the full amount, even if I've already started work on it, as well as the work I've already completed.
If you do not wish to receive a refund, I can either do what you already requested, finish the work I started, or start a new piece if you've changed your mind in this time with no extra charge.
If you do wish to receive a refund, all I ask is that you send me your current/up-to-date PayPal email as well as the amount you paid (in your currency), as it's quite difficult for me to find everyone using the payment archives on my account.
You will be added to a list and paid as and when I have the funds available. How quickly you receive your money back will obviously depend on the amount you paid. If you've paid a large amount we can talk about possible payment plans if and where applicable.
Once again, I'm truly sorry for hiding away for so long. Everything just kinda got out of hand and it's been eating away at me this whole time, but I want more than anything to make things right.

Let's talk about refunds.

Just letting you all know I'm in fact still alive, but a lot has been going on over the past few months.
As some of you already know, art has been my primary job for about 6 or 7 years now.
But I just don't feel like I can do it anymore.
Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE art and creating it, but as a job? It's done nothing but cause me stress and guilt for the last 3 years or so.
During these past 3 years I've tried SO hard to apply for other jobs but I just never had any luck.
Until now that is.
I recently lucked out and managed to land myself a temporary contract with my nearest Amazon fulfilment centre.
It's not the best job out there, but it's something, and I'm finally bringing in some money that isn't crummy universal credit payments that come in monthly despite only lasting me about 2 weeks.
Unfortunately my shift patterns are quite antisocial, meaning I won't have much time for commissions anymore, if at all.
This is where I need to talk about refunds.
As most of you know my customer service and timing have been ABYSMAL in the last 6 months or more. And I feel fucking awful for it, and I just don't think it's fair anymore.
So to anyone who wishes to ask for a refund now, I will gladly oblige. I owe you that much
The way I'll be working out refunds will be based on how much work I've done.
So for instance, if I haven't started any work, you'll receive a full refund, naturally.
However if I have started work on your commission, your refund will reflect what hasn't been completed.
For example;
If you've paid £15 for a full body, shaded single character piece, and I've only completed the lining, you'll receive a £10 refund plus the lined character piece.
If I've completed the lining and base colours, you'll receive an £5 refund plus the lined and coloured piece.
But PLEASE, don't take this as me fully backing out.
If you're still set on having your piece finished by me, I'll gladly do so
It'll just take some time with my new work.
As for any commissions that I have in the works that are almost completed, I'll be finishing those as normal.
With all this said, PLEASE don't hesitate to note me about a refund if it's what you wish for. I won't be mad, but I'd certainly understand if you were mad at me.
I don't have any long term plans for quitting commissions, but for now I just don't have it in me to take on any new ones. I apologise to anyone who noted me about them in the time that I was absent.
I'll still be using this site to post my own personal artwork when I have the time.

COMMISSION PRICE CHANGES

The changes aren't too substantial imo, and some people would probably still consider them fairly low ahah
But I'm happy with the changes for now.
I've also now added badges to my list of available options!

If I put you down on my current queue and you hadn't paid before these changes were made, you still only have to pay the pre-agreed price.

But if I have any hope of getting a job outside of my home, I need to make it so I'm spending less time at the computer doing commissions ;A;

Trip to France/Plane cancellations
Posted 8 years agoO boy where do I begin.
So I went on my trip to France on Thursday with the boyf and his family.
It was a lot of fun!
We went and saw all the major tourist destinations that everyone wanted to visit as well as picking up some souvenirs along the way (I caved and bought myself some Minnie ears at Disneyland Paris lmao).
We were supposed to head back home Sunday afternoon, but as some of you may have heard, England as well as several other places had other plans and decided to snow heavily the night before we needed to leave. Hundreds of flights were cancelled including ours which wasn’t cancelled until the very last minute while we were still waiting for it in the airport. The next flight we could get wasn’t until today in the morning, so we had to stay in France for two extra nights.
We also had to go back to the airport AGAIN after the first extra night because they couldn’t book us hotel rooms for both nights on the same night, resulting in us staying at three different hotels in total over the course of the trip.
There was also a crazy moment at the start of our holiday where my boyfriends Mum had her purse stolen by a young Romanian girl whilst we were catching the train to Paris. In a serious turn of luck, it turned out the station police had seen the whole thing, followed us onto the train and identified my boyfriends Mum as the victim whilst also catching the girl who stole her purse because she got on the same train as us. They’d already apprehended her before we’d even realised what the hell had happened.
Tl;dr, boyfs Mum got her purse back as well as fitting in a mini convo with the Romanian girl to call her a little bitch (angry Irish mums are funny).
Soooo yeah, it was a pretty crazy little weekend to say the least. Also idk what the hell it is about France but there’s CONSTANTLY emergency vehicles flying around the place making loads of noise. Also the human and vehicular traffic are pretty rude, the disabled access is shocking (boyfs Dad has multiple sclerosis) and apparently they have no concept of what actual hot food is and every pizza seems to have goats cheese on it.
All in all though, I enjoyed it.
But I’m super glad to finally be back home.

Birthday/Sickness
Posted 8 years agoSo my birthday has actually been and gone while I've been away from here again ahah-
It was on the 3rd of this month.
I didn't do anything special really, there's not much to celebrate once you pass the age of 18 oops.
I'm now 24 wooo..oo?
One step closer to my mid-twenties.. ew.
Another reason I didn't do much celebrating for my birthday is because the following day I fell really, REALLY sick with a cold.
Usually I can handle a cold and live my days as usual, but this one was diabolical.
My eyes were puffy and constantly teary and I couldn't go 2 seconds without a tissue being pressed against my nose because it was basically like a faucet and any breath of fresh air caused me to go into uncontrollable sneezing fits.
Even in the moments where my nose wasn't giving me hell I felt like absolute shit and could barely move out of bed to make myself a cup of tea.
I felt really pathetic, and all the while I could only think how much work I still needed to do but no matter how much will I had I could no move from bed. That cold seriously drained me.
Even now I'm still not quite 100% but at least the cold is, for the most part, gone.
Only thing I'm dealing with now is some inexplicable dizzy spells that come on either randomly or from me having a coughing fit because of the left over phlegm in my lungs. For now I'm assuming some residual congestion is causing it but if it carries on I'm gonna get it checked out by a doctor.
Ugh, this journal ended up being longer than I thought it would buuut, whatever I guess.
Sorry for the delay (again) guys. I'll be trying to make up for it in the following weeks.

Apparently there is a god
Posted 8 years agoAnd he decided to spare me a great ordeal.
My boyfriend managed to exceed all expectations and fixed my computer to the point of perfect working order.
I now have a brand new hard drive and heat sink/fan, and my computer can finally run at exceptionally low temperatures. And so far, no crashes!
The best part?
I was able to access and retrieve all of my files from my old hard drive.
I'm over the fucking moon right now, I can never thank him enough fgsdhgj.
This has saved me so much time, stress and worry.
Nearly losing everything has given my motive and mental state a kick in the right direction, I really need to get shit done. I'm so sorry I've been making you all wait so long. This is the first thing in a long time that has actually gone right for me.
It's also motivated me to actually set up my friggin' onedrive and move things to it so that this doesn't happen again, ugh.

I've lost everything on it.
The only images I have for use on my current wips are those I've saved to my dA stash.
Everything else is gone.
Personal work, wips that I was gonna get back to, photos, reference images. Everything.
My boyfriend thinks he can fix the computer but the chances of saving anything from my hard drive are little to none and the computer will need to be booted from scratch.
I'm actually in tears right now, this is fucking awful.
I'm so sorry guys.
I'll update you all when and if things take a turn for the better.

Obligatory 2017 update
Posted 9 years agoSo it's been a while since my last journal update and I figure I should be more sociable and let people know I'm not dead between uploads HA.
2017 has been treating me well, so far!
I'd really like to apologize to anyone who may be starting to get concerned about my lack of updates or those who have commissioned me and are STILL waiting //cri
I've actually been going through this really awful art funk recently and it got to the point where I had to literally force myself to draw stuff, and I just kept feeling like everything I was putting out was really shit or take way longer than it'd usually take me to finish.
But I PROMISE I'm actually starting to get on top of it now. This past week I finally got my motivation back and I actually feel a lil' more confident about drawing on the regular again.
I actually have REALLY bad anxiety which comes in a lot of forms, and more often than not it makes me procrastinate and dawdle on pretty much anything. Some days I'm fine, other days I just wanna curl up into a ball and disappear.
But fear not, I've been fighting this monster for the best part of 23 years and I won't let it get the better of me now!
On another topic, I'd really like to be more social with people on here. I feel like I don't have or make enough friends in this community. SO, if you think I'm interesting enough, I'd totally be up for a chat! I don't feel comfortable leaving my social links up for grabs on here so just feel free to send me a note asking for any of the ones you use and I'd be happy to give them out. Currently I only really use Skype, though I did make a Discord recently.

I mean of course I still look forward to my birthdays and this one was no exception, I had plenty of fun too!

I took a tiny break over this week considering it was my birthday
It was also my sisters birthday on the 31st of July o boy.
But ye I'm back at it again and trying to get through them all as quick as I can without doing a shit job in the process :v
I guess I'm still not used to taking on this much of a work load at once ahah, usually I only have 3-4 commissions to deal with at a time IF I'M LUCKY

Posted 9 years agoPlease be aware that while I typically start each of my commissions in queue order, there are times where I may skip over some and start on another further down the queue. Please don't take this personally or as favouritism/bias. Sometimes I feel more inspired to do one piece than another, so it makes sense for me to use that inspiration in that moment to ensure all my work is being done to the best possible quality. Drawing out pieces whilst uninspired means I'm 90% likely to draw something that looks like crap and I only ever want to ever give my customers the best.

I've also been going through some shitty art block and can't seem to find the motivation to work on things any longer than like, an hour. I keep losing my steam really quickly.

Hopefully the wait will be worth it.
In other news, the UK has voted to leave the EU, as some of you surely know.
My vote was to remain so I'm pretty pissed about it.
I'm not even necessarily mad that we're leaving the EU, I'm mad that some people's reasons for leaving are really racist, selfish and bigoted.
I'm also mad that the majority of leave voters are people in their 60's+
Like, they won't even be around to experience the long term outcome on this, however people like me have to deal with this choice for the rest of our lives? They've decided our futures for us like we're little kids, and it's extremely unfair.
But enough of that bs, just wanted to let you guys know I'm still lurking about. I haven't forgotten about you!
Hopefully things will get a bit better soon.

Posted 9 years agoI'd like some opinions or input on some symptoms I've been having.
These symptoms have been ongoing and changing since about Friday?
It started with a pain in the left side of my chest/pectoral muscle, accompanied by some pain down the upper part of my arm(more like throbbing). This would come and go as it pleased, and the pain in my chest was mostly aggravated by me taking in deep breaths.
This has gradually gone away and become virtually non-existent, but now a few days down the line I still get the occasional throbbing in my arm which now leads to my ring and pinky fingers feeling like they're falling asleep unless I move and wiggle them about. This is also an intermittent thing.
I've figured that the feeling goes away if I sit with my arm straight and my hand is warm.
The feeling shows if I move my arm a lot or if I sit with my arm bent, and if my hand is cold.
I feel as though it may be a disturbance to a nerve or blood vessel. But it could also be my anxiety.
Has anyone ever had similar symptoms after long periods of sitting at a computer with their back hunched, their arms bent or from a general injury to the chest or arm?
I'd really appreciate anyone who can help me out.
I'm also planning on making a doctors appointment anyway, just to see if anything's up or if it really is just my anxiety.

I hate them.
It's kinda always been a problem for me for years now but never as bad as it was last night.
It honestly scared the living shit out of me.
I know they can't exactly kill me or whatever but it worries me thinking about what the underlying cause could be.
They say it's something to worry about if the bouts last more than 15 minutes?
I sometimes experience a couple o' irregular beats but usually wave them off quickly with a cough or two.
Last nights bout lasted about 40 minutes.
I had no idea they'd lasted that long until my boyfriends mum told me. She's a nurse and sat keeping an eye on my pulse and heart rate all that time.
My anxiety didn't help in the slightest and left me with a heart rate of about 135 which I assume isn't good. It was basically like I had been working out without even lifting a finger.
I need to talk to my doctor about it soon and if it happens for that long again it could mean a trip to A&E.
Fuuuuuuun.
Any of you guys ever experienced them?
Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Posted 9 years agoYe sorry I haven't posted anything in a short while, it's been one of those weeks/months where I find it hard to think of anything to draw, and when I do I can't seem to find the initiative to do so mentally or physically. ;;orz
Buuut tonight I actually feel as though I may be up to drawing, so hopefully I can kick that feeling in the ass pretty soon.
I guess all the commissions and whatnot that I've been doing kinda knackered me out up until now.
Not that I don't like doing commissions, on the contrary I love it ahah! I guess I'm just not used to having that many people want art from me, so I'm usually working a lot slower.

Well, it would have more stuff but I only really see the point in putting anthro-only stuff on here so ye.
Need to get round to sorting the thumbnails out for all my new submissions cause it looks messy and I have slight OCD tendencies with that stuff kdgjh.
I should probably also resize the submissions at some point to cause they are HUUUGE o man.
I've been spending the last couple o' months trying to sort my life out and find a job. Being an adult sucks huge man dick.
Anyone who follows me on dA should also know about the recent shit some dickhead employers put me through, if you bothered reading my last journal that is lol.
So ye, artwork and uploads have been kinda slow because of it.

Posted 10 years agoSo my laptop is sloooowly dying, has been for a while. And recently the majority of the useful parts of my keyboard have stopped working or require me to punch the living shit out of it to get it to work.
This means I've been having to use the on-screen keyboard.
But luckily Josh, being the beautiful soul he is, went and bought me a keyboard to replace it.
It won't be til next week that I get it, but it's still gr8.
Buuut, because I've been using a mouse and the on-screen keyboard for a short while now, it's caused me to sprain or get some kind of cramp in my hand and wrist. Which sucks.
So this is why commissions and other stuff is taking me a little while. Sorryyy~
But I am still working on them regardless!
