Posted 2 months agoday 6/9 (nice) i became a 31 years old, which is a very adult and serious age. i'm here thinking of things like doing "a masters degree" and "buying a house" and also "buying more of those chocolate wafers" which are very adult things to do that make me feel i really am 31 years old.

Those are discounted slots as I'm experimenting with what I can do in this timeframe. The price will probably rise the week after as I can draw a lot in 1h. Currently its 75/h.
Here's the form with all the info! I'll close when all slots are taken. This is manually done. You can suggest a date for yours, but since this is done through a form your preferred date might be taken already, so i'll put you in the nearest available date instead. you can confirm if thats fine when I send you the invoice.

Posted 6 months agoHello! I'm gonna give a try to timed lined commissions this week, which is something my boyfriend boypretties often does (and I reccomend giving his work a look).
I'll be doing some samples and if anyone want to buy slots for the samples you can get 'em here. I'll make another journal after I have the samples made and there'll be more slots available.
More info on what those would be:
Those are artistic freedom commissions with little guidance (a couple keywords or insp sheet max). They're simplier than my other commissions, done with a thicker brush. They're way cheaper than my speedpaints as they require less effort to do even if they're done in the same timeframe (seriously, speedpaints fry my brain)

I'll give a try to both making the lineart before the colour and the colour before the lineart and see which will give better results. Those were done with lineart before colour.

Posted 10 months agoOne thing I feel like might help people wanting to start learning a new language is to not worry about how "useful" a language will be. First of all there is no thing such as useless knowledge, much less an useless language. A new language, even if you don't go past the most basic level, will open an infinitude of possibilities in your life, and those possibilities don't need to be profit related to be good for you. One of my favourite things of learning a new language is that you get access to that culture's side of internet, and know all those old memes like badger badger mushroom and how things changed and became modern memes? Now imagine being able to experience all that from scratch again. You might have heard of foreigners laughing at "hi i'm dad" or "knock knock" jokes because they never heard those before, and with a new language you'll be in that side of the coin, laughing at the most oversaturated jokes because they simply don't exist in the cultural sphere of the languages you already know.
Another thing that is complete bs is thinking that some languages are "impossible to learn for foreigners" or that "foreigners can never speak X language fluently"... there is no such things. All languages are just languages and if theres resources to learn them you can speak them. What might happen is that some languages may have structures and sounds that are unfamiliar to you and it'll take some time for you to get used to it, but with practice and exposure you'll get the hang of it. With constant studying you probably can reach a B1 in anything in a couple years, regardless of how the initial unfamiliarity was. Another thing is, unless you do a lot of training to get rid of it, your accent will still follow you through the languages you learn. Which is honestly a dope thing you shouldn't worry about, and an accent isn't an indicator of how fluent or not fluent anyone is, though sometimes native speakers - mainly those with low exposure to foreigners - think having an accent means you can't speak a language properly, which might propagate some untruths.
How hard you want to go on a language is also entirely up to you. You don't have to learn something and go all the way up to fluency with them. You can learn a language just because you want to figure out how its structure works and stop there, or reach a intermediate level and stop actively studying. A language is something that takes years to learn and seeing the pile of things you'll have to study might seem discouraging (or they might also feel like a banquet or a ball pit), you don't need to worry about fitting everything in your current schedule if it doesn't fit. If you only have 10mins a day when you remember about it, you can go slow and casual. Not everyone goes to the gym to be a bodybuilder, most people just use the treadmill.
Basically
- Languages don't need to be profitable, popular. job-related or european to be worth learning
- The initial unfamiliarity you might experience with languages that greatly differ from the languages you alreayd know is just that, an initial unfamiliarity, with time and expose you'll get used to it
- You don't have to go balls deep in a language to even consider starting it. You can put just the tip and leave it as that. Its ok
Some practice/learning tips though:
- Try to think in that language early on, if you only know 2 words try to think of them when looking at what they represent, when you start formulating phrases try to build those in the language instead of translating from yours to the target language
- Use the text to speech thing in your phone when writing in that language, it'll improve your pronunciation (the phone has to understand you) and get you used to speaking and formulating phrases on the spot
- Join games and social sites in that language, facebook meme groups can be a fun learning tool + it makes you get in contact with slangs and internet speech, which you'll see a lot of when studying from home
- the vital key for learning a language is humilliation. You'll speak things in a completely fucked up way, hear yourself, and witness native speakers react to you speaking whatever the hell you just did. Don't be afraid of it, embrance it like a real warrior. There is no language learning without embarassing yourself at least a lil bit. The more you toss yourself out there and speak the most abhorrent chain of words, the more you'll learn how to ACTUALLY make yourself understandable while simultaneously learning how to understand others. Eventually you'll stop worrying about it.

domain change

I've changed my domain from bengaly.art to bengaly.art.br, which is uglier but my previous domain got too expensive for me lol. I first got it years ago for 30 usd a year which was high on my expenses but I could save up for it by the end of the year. It doubled last year and now I checked how much it'd be for the renewal and its now 91 USD, which is completely out of my reality(for context 91 USD is ~600 BRL, which hurts as much as 600 USD a year for a domain). So bye good and easy to remember domain! You'll always be the best domain I ever got. But I'm poor and I added a .br to it and now it'll cost me 63 usd for TEN YEARS
I've been meaning to do this for a couple years already but i kept on postponing it because i'd need to update all my links... better to do it now before convenience costs 150 USD a year. Everything will just need a .br on the end to still work. Heres what I can remember of:
ps: I got the bengaly.art.br domain but i didn't implement on my blog yet because tumblr is now charging for domain connections 😭 i'll think on either i get site hosting or leave it on my tumblr for year, so the .br thing might not work FOR NOW but if you change the .art to .tumblr.com it'll. - seriguela (while the taste is phenomenal, its 80% seed)
- blueberries (feels like off brand camapum, but fucks honestly)
- cocoa (juice from it fucks immensely but its basically a mix of abiu and cashews)
- artificial cherry flavouring
Most intense flavour: Buriti, jackfruits, any soursop
Easier to eat tons of without getting tired: Jambo, camapum, oranges
Best textures: Jambo (cronch) and Cashews (closest vegan option to biting human skin)

Posted a year agoi have many designs i've posted for early claims on patreon that i have not posted outside patreon. Theres 8-9 I'm organising rn from 2024-2023 and I know I'll find more if I dig further but I'll try focusing on those for now. So ADHD allows me I'll be posting some adopts for claims in the following days/weeks.
what to expect:
- 2 princessy themed sphinxes
- 2 chicken dragon themed sphinxes
- 2 sea slug themed dragons
- a very red smok
