A: Friday Morning
Q: Who will you be rooming with?

A: Not quite sure yet. I tend to play it by ear and often end up wandering on my own. Open to invitations though!
Q: Are there any panels you might be attending?
A: Probably the main events such as Opening/Closing, any fursuit events to take photos, other than that I'm not completely sure. I had thought of hosting a geocaching panel, but there didn't seem to be much interest.
Q: Will you be suiting?
A: VERY Unlikely, though there is a slim chance.
Q: How old are you?
A: 35
Q: Gender

A: Hugs are always appreciated, Snuggles depend on who, where and how well I know you. Doesn't hurt to ask though.

Furnal Equinox 2015 Con Photos.
General | Posted 10 years agoWell, it took me a little longer than I anticipated to get around to sorting out my Furnal Equinox 2015 photos, but they're finally processed and uploaded. Enjoy.
Re-posting is acceptable, but I would prefer the tag at the bottom be left intact. Links back to my FA profile are greatly appreciated. I also really like knowing if they've been uploaded so I can favourite and/or comment. n.n

Furnal Equinox -2014- Con Photos - Better late than never
General | Posted 11 years agoWell, after a few issues with my Furnal Equinox con photos, I finally have the photos from FE2014 uploaded. I Had to use the .jpeg versions, but they're finally somewhat touched up, processed and uploaded. Better late than never I suppose, and at least they're up before FE2015. X-D Still have yet to recover all my RAW versions of the files, unfortunately.
Enjoy, and if there are any pictures of you or your suits/etc, feel free to re-post. I would appreciate if the subtle tag in the corner is left intact and a link back to me/my gallery was included. Thanks!

Furnal Equinox Munchkin Tournament Survey
General | Posted 12 years agoHey folks!
I've been running the Munchkin Tournament at Furnal Equinox for the last few years, and have been getting about the same attendance for the last few years, which ranges from about 8 - 12 players. I'm hoping to boost numbers this year, either to the tournament itself, or by doing something a little different, such as running some open demo/free play hours in the game room where Munchkin, among other Steve Jackson Games could be played, with the possibility of having a raffle instead of a 'grand prize.'
As such, to get a feeling for what people are more interested in, and/or what pros/cons people take into consideration for attending a tournament, I've created a survey to help collect some feedback and try and tune the event to maximum interest for potential attendees.
All feedback is appreciated, whether you've attended a Munchkin Tournament before, or even Furnal Equninox itself.
you can find the survey below. Thanks in advance!

I've been running the Munchkin Tournament at Furnal Equinox for the last few years, and have been getting about the same attendance for the last few years, which ranges from about 8 - 12 players. Hurray! Broadband, FINALLY!
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, the bell tech finally decided to show up, and after a bit of fighting we got it working on our LAN. I've joined the 21st century everyone! *dances around throwing confetti!*
Broadband....
General | Posted 12 years ago... Delayed.... AGAIN.
Teksavvy put the order in wrong, so the tech didn't wind up coming out and they had to re-submit the order entirely to fix it. That means a new install date of Friday the 27th. This also means both Teksavvy's tech and Bell's tech have to come out again, even though the work their tech has to do is already done.
They did credit me 2 weeks worth of service though. *waves a pennant flag unenthusiastically*
Someone just shoot me. >.<

Broadband Update
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, Bell decided to call today and confirm things such as location and name on the address and such for the installation of my dry loop. It looks like at least Bell knows that they have a job to do this time. But I'm sure that they have more tricks up their sleeves to mess it up somehow. For now I'm waiting with baited breath for the 23rd, which is when both sides have confirmed the installation. Here's hoping!
Broadband delayed, again.... Thanks Bell. -.-
General | Posted 12 years agoSo despite Bell 'confirming' their installation date of my dry loop for today, they decided not to show up. The ISP's technician showed up and did half of bells job before he left. Bell told me there were no technicians in the area today to do the install. Until I pointed out that a technician came and installed DSL for my neighbour today, which is directly across the road from us. Thanks Bell. New installation date for JUST the dry loop is the 18th.
The sad part is, I knew Bell would screw getting things set up today somehow.
UPDATE: Well the tech never did show, so now they have put in for another date of the 23rd to have the dry loop installed. I never realized it could take nearly 2 months just to order DSL,

Mephit Fur Meet Bound.... but it's a bumpy road.
General | Posted 12 years agoSo, last night at 7pm I departed for Mephit Fur Meet. Of course, I'm slated to arrive on the 28th, which is a bit early, but extra hang-out time with friends is never a bad thing.
Of course, I've been dreading doing the full 34+- trip entirely by bus again... and my intuition wasn't off its mark. Everything was going fine until I hit the US/Canada border... which went from a planned twenty minute stop to an hour and forty-five minute ordeal just to get through customs. FINALLY when everyone is through and loaded back on the bus... the bus battery dies deader than a door nail. Which leaves us stranded at US Customs for over 4 hours. As a result, I'm going to be missing the remaining bus changes between here and MFM. I can only see this all going from bad to worse.

Stage Performance:
-None planed, at least not ones I'm performing in anyway.
Drink:
-I don't normally drink much at cons outside of typical beverages, but its been known to happen.

Can I buy you lots of drinks?
-If you really insist.
Can I give you lots of money?

Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugs are usually fine. I've never had an instance of snuggles occur at a con, but possibly.
How tall are you?
5'9"
If You look pissed off, can I come up to you?
Sure, I'm usually pretty easy going. Though I have been told my neutral expression looks like I'm upset -.-
Are you nice?
I like to think so.
Are you cliquey?
I don't think so.. at least I hope not. O.O
Can I stalk you?
The real question is, why would you want to? o.O
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Greet me and introduce yourself if I don't already know you.
Can I take a picture of ya?
Yes, though I'm usually the one behind the camera. X-D
Can I steal ya away for *censored*?
You can try. It would be a first as far as cons go.

Broadband delayed.
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, it seems my broadband has been delayed. Due to some problems with the type of line I have, the original order has been cancelled. I will probably have to go with a dry loop to get something to work, and re-place the order. Unfortunately this route will cost a bit more in the long run, but still less than I'm paying now for dialup and far more functional than my dialup is now.
Also, I now have my modem ready to go which I need to set up and re-arrange some wiring to make it work, which shouldn't be too big a deal.
After waiting 10 years, having it within sight is so much easier!

WOOOHOOOO! BROADBAND!
General | Posted 12 years agoWELL, it looks after waiting a good 10 years or more, DSL Broadband is /finally/ available in my area. It's due to be hooked up on the 19th! Finally no more having to travel 10 kilometers just to get broadband internet. I am so looking forward to not being like some internet leper and being excluded or otherwise unable to join friends in doing online social activities such as gaming, voice chat or even just sharing of links, as well as online banking, enjoying news sites and being able to look up any information that tickles my fancy without taking a minimum of an hour. Not to mention actually getting to browse FA rather than trying to power through the backlog of submissions that have backed up, as well as actually uploading photos and the like. All of which, among other stuff that had to be done within a few hours before being cut off. It's going to be a big change for sure!
It can't come soon enough! But after waiting for as long as I have, a few days doesn't seem that bad.

MFM & Whoops, another rotation around the sun.
General | Posted 12 years agoSo, it looks like as of earlier in the week that I'm all set for MFM this year. Kinda looking forward to it since I'm going to be in Memphis a couple days early this year to visit some friends, as well as being my 10th consecutive MFM, so it's kinda special that way too. I'm also very much looking forward to spending this con in a slightly different circle of people, which should prove to be an interesting change.
Once again I'll be heading up the Video Room this year, as well as running a Munchkin Tournament and possibly some other open games, which should be fun. I'll even have some prizes for the tournament supplied by SJ Games.
Oh, and I forgot to update and mention here that I completed another complete rotation around the sun last month. Was one of the best birthday's I've had in quite a long time. Primarily because I got to spend it with some dear friends for dinner, followed by ten-pin bowling. I had never played ten pin before so I was a little awkward at first, but I found a groove quickly enough. I think I'm slightly more proficient at ten pin than I am in five pin, for whatever reason. Thanks again to Prplhaze, Baby Tiger, Jack the Tiger, Rivi, Kalidascope and her husband for coming out and making it an incredibly enjoyable evening. *HUGS*

Back from Furnal Equinox 2013
General | Posted 13 years agoWell, got back early AM on Monday and have been recovering ever since. It was a fantastic weekend and probably one of the best cons I've had yet. I have yet to do an exact count, but I took over 2000 photos throughout the course of the weekend, before clearing out the bad ones and duplicates. I should be processing them soon and uploading them in the next few days.
It was great seeing everyone again. I can't wait until next year. I'll post a proper con report soon. I hope it will consist more of "took photos of EVERYTHING" X-D

Furnal Equinox [FE] 2013 Meme.
General | Posted 13 years agoWhere are you staying?
Main convention hotel, the Sheraton Toronto Airport.
What day are you getting there?
Friday the 8th in the AM.
Who will you be rooming with?
Jack_The_Tiger,
Thadiuseffingham and
Terias.
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
Aside from my roomies, probably prplhaze, bt-armistice, Kalidascope RABlackpaws, Hammy457 and possibly a few others... I tend to play it by ear. ^.^
Are there any panels you might be attending?
As con photographer, probably more than a few. Aside from that I'll be hosting the Official Munchkin tournament, as well as a few other open games and tournaments depending on how things go. Those I'll be playing by ear for the most part.
Are you attending any stage or public performances?
Opening and Closing Ceremonies for sure, probably any fursuit related ones such as the masquerade, etc. GOH panels, things like that. Mostly for photography work though.
Will you be suiting?
Nope. 20 cons under my belt and I still don't even have a tail let alone a suit. X-D
Which suit(s) will you be bringing?
N/A.
How can I find you?
I'll probably be roving the con space a fair bit. Look for the Canon camera with BRIGHT RED Canon strap... maybe my purple vest if I'm wearing it.. Otherwise text my cell or ask prplhaze or bt-armistice one of which can probably be found somewhere near the security table. X-D
Do you draw?
Nope.
What are your limits to drawing?
Straight lines... with a ruler. X-D
How old are you?
30
How tall are you?
5'9"
Are you taken? Are you looking for a mate?
Not taken, and not specifically looking either, but not ruling it out.
Can I talk to you?
Sure! I can be a bit quiet and shy at first with new people though. *^.^*
Can I touch you?
Casual touching is fine, I can't imagine there being much demand otherwise. X-D
Can I visit your room?
Don't see why not, so long as I trust you and my roomies are cool with it. Then again, I don't often spend a lot of time in the room.
Can I buy you drinks?
Sure I suppose, but it's probably unnecessary. I usually bring a supply of my own.
Can I give you stuff?
If you /really/ insist, sure!
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugs, absolutely. Snuggles are generally few and far between, so I play those by ear. ^.^
Are you nice?
I've not had many complaints otherwise!
How long are you going?
Arriving Friday morning, leaving Sunday evening sometime.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Probably is to just say hi and introduce yourself. I tend to be a bit shy and won't always initiate conversation.
Where will you be most of the time during the days?
Mostly around con space, taking pictures of everything that moves, and some things that don't. ^.^
What/where will you be eating?
Probably mostly stuff I bring and in my room, but I hope to do the odd dinner/lunch out with some folks. :)
Can I come with you for food/fun etc?
If I managed to actually get out of the hotel! May depend on where and who I'm already making plans with.
Can I look in your sketchbook?
Sure, there's not a whole lot in it, but sure!
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Sure! Do let me know first though. :D
Can I take your picture?
Sure if you really want. I'm more frequently found behind the camera though. X-D
What’s your goal for the con this year?
To spend time with friends and have fun. What else would you do at a con!?!

Mephit Fut Meet 2012 'late-than-never' report & photos link.
General | Posted 13 years agoWell, made it back home safe and sound on the 6th, never got a chance to post with all the decompressing and then FA going down thing and what have you, but, long story short, I made it home. ^.^
Whole trip was pretty harrowing right from the start. First I get to the bus station to pick up my tickets and get told that the order may have been cancelled due to too long a delay between my ordering them, and picking them up, despite the site and confirmation email saying I could pick them up at /least/ an hour before the bus leaves. To say the least I was kind of panicking a little since my bus literally was due to depart in a matter of hours. Fortunately with my reservation number they were able to 'find' and print the tickets in the system. Ride to Toronto was pretty uneventful for the most part, though the layover had some guy talking to me. He was nice and all and the conversation was appreciated but the underlying tone was "I'm talking to you because I need you to cash a cheque for me." Of which he blatantly asked me like, 2 or 3 times. The rest of the trip to Detroit I barely remember anything of, at this point I kind of passed out and woke up at the border crossing, which was kind of a disappointment since I kinda wanted to see London again since I've only really visited it once, but c'est la vie.
The border crossing was the eventful part of the trip this year, usually there's not a whole lot that happens and it's pretty routine, although, for the Detroit crossing, the 'routine' is slightly gruff and a major hassle no how much you cut it, but this time, a lady on the bus happened to have a DVD that they didn't like whatsoever. It apparently had foreign writing on it and zero production information on the case, nor could the lady tell them what it was or what was on it, other than she was told to "give it to someone." They must have searched her bags a good 5 times, by 5 different people and I'm pretty sure she got 'searched' at least once. Long story short, 3 hours later and the FBI got involved and 'released' the bus to continue onto Detroit. The lady with the DVD did not get back on the bus.
Stayed over at RABlackpaws's for a day. We hung out, checked out around town, hit a great Chinese buffet for lunch had a big dinner which almost keeled the next morning on the bus, just lots of fantastic hanging out, chatting and enjoying company. Was really great to spend time with them. Especially considering they wouldn't be at the con, which made me sad. RA also had a couple of pony blind-bags for me, Namely Fluttershy, which Is very difficult to find in Canada, so that was happy for sure. ^.^
The next day I took the bus to St. Louis to meet up with mideonwerewolf and the rest of the MFM convoy. Stayed over the night before heading out Friday morning for the con. I got to ride with mideonwerewolf and Tron in the truck, which was a different experience for me, at least as far as arriving at MFM goes. There is a great deal of silly banter that goes on over the convoy's radios. We got in around noon and immediately took about unpacking the truck, which was done as quick as possible with the threat of storms rolling in. In fact it started to sprinkle before everything was in, but fortunately we had some cover over the entrance. Ended up stashing my stuff in mideonwerewolf's room until my TimothyFrisby and Zen_Fetcher arrived. Until then I made myself busy helping things get to where they needed to be, hit the staff meeting, grabbed my conbadge from Reg and ended up running into Marius. Upon having a second body, I wrangled him into hanging out and helping a bit with prelim Video Room setup, getting most of it down for when TimothyFrisby arrived for final buttoning down. Overall I was pretty happy with the setup this year. Another huge surprise I got this year was the Anthrocon and Sly Cooper PS2 game TimothyFrisby and Zen_Fetcher presented me with, signed by the creator of the franchise, who was AC's GOH last year. Totally blew me away and is greatly appreciated. The poster is definitely getting framed at some point. ^.^
Was a pretty good con, most of it seems more like a blur at this point but I actually got to see some of it this year, as well as spend time hanging out with friends and for once, actually get to meet and hang out with some new ones, such as , Buck, Tempest_Panda and Vanier, among others that I don't know the FA accounts of, which was a nice change. Also got to see a few faces that I wouldn't have expected to see so far from home, but sometimes life just surprises you like that. The Munchkin tournament I hosted went fairly well, though I wish we would have gotten a bigger turnout for it. Though I think that was mostly due to the time it was set, as I heard there were a good number who wanted to come but couldn't because of the time. Live and learn I suppose. Of course, it didn't help that I had a /massive/ headache for it either. Fortunately everyone participating was pretty easy going and understanding which was appreciated.
The real event of the weekend was definitely the tornado that touched down near the convention hotel. I hear it touched down a couple miles from the hotel on Sunday night. Think con staff moved something like 500 people into the middle of the hotel in about five minutes, which is pretty impressive. The storm knocked out the power as well and when the initial threat was over, people were allowed to move back to their rooms and about the hotel, which was kind of weird given the hotel was on backup generator emergency power and the lighting was low. The funny part was the whole ordeal did more to bring folks together, as it drew everyone out of their rooms and out socializing, which was pretty interesting, and awesome to see.
The trip back was pretty uneventful for the most part. I got to help unload the con's truck into it's 'home' storage locker where all the con's 'stuff' stays for the year, which was pretty neat, despite getting back later than we had anticipated. Crashed overnight again at mideonwerewolf's place before heading back out to Michigan to spend another day at RABlackpaws', where after a short shopping trip to get some extra supplies, was able to rather successfully make one of my, at least to my friends, well known scratch pizzas, which seemed to go over well. RA was also gracious enough to let me do a bit of beer shopping, since, after a long trip, really could use one.... or four... that evening. Ended up getting a sampler pack from Krogers. They had some really nice selections, ironically, the ones I thought I'd like the most, I didn't like nearly as much, and the ones I thought I'd like the least, I wound up liking the most. The two most notable, were the Sierra Nevada's "Torpedo 'Extra IPA'" and a Belgian beer called 'PALM.'
Trip back to Canada was even more uneventful. Border crossing was well under 10 minutes for the whole bus and everything was smooth sailing all the way back home.
Anyway, that about sums up my trip. Know I probably forgot to mention a lot of things, and possibly people, and for that I apologize. It was great seeing everyone again, and for some, for the first time. Thanks for making the weekend amazing!

Regarding center aligned journals [Mini-Rant]
General | Posted 13 years agoI've been seeing it more and more lately, where people are by default, using center alignment for ALL of their journals, including the giant paragraph tl;dr ones and its starting to drive me nuts. I practically grew up in and have worked in printing plants and there is a tine and place for different text alignments. Substantial bodies of text, is not the place for center justification. All it does is make your journal harder to read and look unprofessional IMO.
I imagine I'm the only one with this problem, but It's getting to the point where I just choose not to read paragraph+ length journals if they're center aligned, and I'm typically one of the people who go out of their way to read TL;DR journals completely, so it's not just out of laziness.
But anyhew, I apologize for the rant. Please return to your regular scheduled programming. ^.^
[EDIT] Not sure why that went to double post. Must have hit enter by accident or something. o.O
