Posted 16 years agoYay, Eurofurence was simply an awesome experience. I got to know so many new faces, sweet people and awesome performances.
I know people always say, that the most recent furry con was a "blast", but I have to say that I really took some great experiences back home .. and I don't talk about photos. I hope I can share all of that with you in the coming months.

what's up?!?
Posted 17 years agoOn the popular question, "what's up?" I normally answer. Always something different. Small jobs and commissions keep me going.
I don't regularly update my journal here, because I'm using Livejournal for that, it's a mix between an artblog and a personal event-memory holdster to me. I'd love to crosspost everything but sometimes I don't have the time.
I hope you understand.

Back from Eurofurence
Posted 17 years agoyay I was at Eurofurence 14. This will sound hackneyed but hell yeah .. it was a blast.
and I liked it a lot. I held two workshops there, CartoonDrawing101 and the Cartoon Roundtable, together with Karpour and Henrieke.
I did some photography, some art for the artshow and had my first steps in suit there. Maybe you see me on one or the other photos, since it was almost impossible to get through the lobby without getting hugged or photographed (or both).
Thanks for the hugs and Yay for the awesome arts (both visual and performing) that were to be found there

Eurofurence ... count me in
Posted 17 years agoJup I'm there again from tuesday on
I'll also do some stuff for the artshow and a drawing workshop "Cartoon Drawing 101".
Looking for old and new faces alike, I hope this con will be as awesome as the last one.

Posted 17 years agoI just asked myself, which pic on FA has the most favs... and if my eyes will start bleeding if I saw it ...
jk :P

Look who's back
Posted 17 years agoWell, FA's online. I'm still here. But the pics I drew this month are over at Artspots. Artspots kinda became the center of attention for me in the last month, since uploading on DA is not much fun.
I definitely recommend that site. A small but very artistic community, and they work on cleaning their site from the elitism, they used to show off a lil more than others.

What am I?
Posted 18 years agoNo this is not an identity crisis or other emo stuff.
I'm researching what species could fit on my character since people ask me that a lot
So far I just thought of my species as a Caniformia, but I'm not sure weather a true dog/wolf might be suitable. :)
Any suggestions?

Posted 18 years ago5 artists (cute and not so cute)
Posted 18 years agoOkay, this is really though, because I watch 191 people, each one with a reason.
But right now I discern between two categories:
the cute
1)
tabbiefox, because of totally awesome toon style and freedom of material ( I just say plates ;))
2)
dingbat because of semi-cute but all awesome drawing style
3)
Spunky because of totally cute toon style
4)
iPoke because of wonderfull coloring and he really makes the best of meme's
5)
kayanamasha because of cool kitties
Unforgiveably toony:
henrieke : awesome toonstyle from the mid-forenoon of animation.
the not-so cute
1)
blotch, because of their awesome traditional coloring methods mixed with a pinch of tooniness (at least if they refrain from dog knobs)
2)
SpiritCreations, because of cool and clean character artwork and awesome digital coloration
3)
Syrinoth, because of awesome inking methods
4)
thumbclawz because of cool anthro style and nice char design
5)
pax_dragonfire because of his unique and really quick sketch style
Unforgiveably emotional:
kamicheetah nice mix of anime/anthro style with good technique and better effects
But right now I discern between two categories:
the cute

Eurofurence - A Con To Be Counted In
Posted 18 years agoThe EF ... I just say: great convention. But here's the full story:
Wednesday
12AM:Some Furs meet at the last southern U4 station and go hyper already XP I was driving from there till we got to Germany.
After 8 long hours (that are even longer if you stay awake during the night) we arrive at the hotel. Yeah HOTEL, not hostel, we had bathrooms in every room!!!
When the registration opened I saw a cute and well made fursuit. I just had to sketch it and standing in the line was boring anyways. I finished the sketch right before it was my turn.
I was hanging around half awake till my roomie arrived. On 10PM I finally was going to sleep for the next 12 hours.
Thursday:
Okay, PPL Here We Go.
The Eurofurence has opened the SIG rooms, the art show and the dealers den. Activity strikes me and I get to know the level of the artists around. Stuning people like
blotch and
kacey, also
skifi and some others.
Some artwork was rather scary, some wasn't my taste and some works totally rocked my world XD
Afternoon I went down for a lil essential shopping and returned with some alcohol, warm chinese meal and a hairbrush. YAY
I came to hear the songs of the fauna project. I loved it so much. It had much feeling. Aja's voice was just awesome and they played old FMF songs I haven't heard for 10 years or so. And after they revamped them, they sounded better than ever. :)
Spent the late evening with some great friends from all kinds of european countries. My English vocabulary developed epicaly, especially the drunk talk skill while tasting my first and only Jägermeister
Friday
Heavy drawing, funny people I've never met before and live practically next door made my day.
tanidareal was always busy and I havn't found a quiet moment to talk a lil to her, cause of fans and work on her side. NTL an occasional cuddle was the least I could do to this stressed orga-kitty.
I found out about the art lounge, a spontaneous meetup for the drawing staff. No contest, no administration, and still it worked out well.
I even had a quick stage time when in the crowning ceremony of Taibu.
Saturday
Last day of the Artshow and the Dealer's Den and some totally awesome SIGs (=Special Interest Group) but first I listened to the voice of Alexander James Adams, the official heir of Heather Alexander. He broke his instruments on stage but he just played on and on, it was an awesome solo concert with atmosphere and a crowd crying out of joy.
I learned much about alternative but still effective ways of Fursuit Building. If I can get my hand on some of the Closed Cell Foam, I'm going to have a lot of fun :D
BBF's evening lineup didn't rock my world but it was certainly jumpy good electronic music. After that my night's work was mainly exchanging sketches and look at peoples stunning arts.
Sunday
Time to say goodbye to all the people that I got to know and like. I'm almost sure I forgot to wish everybody I knew a safe trip back home. So I hope you all got home safe and sound.
I totally enjoyed this convention as it was my first exclusively furry one.

Posted 18 years agoThe EF ... I just say: great convention. I have to assemble a full report first please be patient :)
just one thing: I was coming back to Austria after 6 hours of driving and listen to the radio at the gas-station near the border. Elton John greeted us with his "Can you feel the love tonight". After a furry con that really flashed me and especially after watching the Lion King again I felt damn welcome.
And two picx:
yaguara's pic i love so much: http://yaguara.deviantart.com/art/Ix-Nab-63982340
EF T-Shirt design: http://yaguara.deviantart.com/art/E.....esign-64709966
More to come ... gotta draw when inspired X3

Going to EF
Posted 18 years agoAll preparations are set and I'm off for my first Eurofurence soon.
I think it'll be lots of fun hangin out there. I'm in no dealers den of art show, I just wanna check it out for now. After years of helping in another con I yearn for the chance to be just a guest.
:)
See ya!
