Art break
Posted 6 years agoI'm sadly faced with the fact that thethingfan (the guy who made a lot of the Puck art) has decided to drift away from me for reasons I don't know of. One day he got very angry with me in Discord DMs and I tried to make him feel better or reconcile somehow with my unseen wrongdoing, but everything I said was ignored and he decided to block and unfriend me, kicking me from his server. I'm sorry that this happened and that he didn't listen to me, but expect less art from now on.

more Puck stuff (written hastily, excuse any bad grammar)
Posted 6 years agosummoned into the world to help with various things, but eventually people got lazy and didn't even banish them, meaning pucks were now on the earth and able to reproduce there
this happened around the 15th century , so in the woods and other parts of the world Pucks could now occasionally be seen by travelers
at first people were scared of them and thought of them as foul demons or even punished souls, yet a human philosopher whose name has been lost to history eventually managed to actually speak to one and learn some about them
when hearing his story in the town square he wanted to give the Puck he had met a false name as to not make them sound intimidating; with a quick mind he called the Puck "Robin Goodfellow"
now people saw Pucks as their equals but vowed to keep their true appearance a secret by depicting them in many false ways through art, so that people could hear their story but not realize that the demons in the woods were actually the Pucks of folklore
of course some still viewed the Pucks as evil and some wrote them as villains or mischief causers to deliberately deface them
but more often than not there would be Pucks who would live in the forest outside of a village and, in return for a villager's promise to do good, they would take care of their house while the villager was gone
sometimes the villagers would actually write about the Pucks being evil at the request of some since it could potentially scare off those who even thought of hunting a Puck, making them think that if they were to try and find them they would be punished, and also gave some of the more chaotic Pucks the chance to make a name for themselves
so you have two differing tales, the kind Puck who would help you, and the Puck who would do evil if you didn't treat them correctly
Northerners tended to try and inspire the first tale in others, while Southerners wanted the latter to be told

Puck Info
Posted 6 years agofor some of the people more curious about Pucks, here is some info about their appearance and names
Pucks are giant creatures often mistaken for some fouler demons since their fur is of an unnatural color and their skulls hold ghastly visages with flaming sight to guide their way. In reality they are some of the kindest creatures you can meet. Up to fifteen feet tall Pucks are more often than not found in temperate climates with medium-length fur that is of a warm and dark color, deep reds and browns are the most common colors that you could find yet in winter climates whites and blacks are especially common. They have two toes on each foot that are great for gripping the forest floor's rough terrain while their skull is good at scaring away potential predators not smart enough to realize a Puck is not a threat. Said skulls come in many forms; it will have either an equine, canine, or feline base with horns or antlers coming off of it to give the illusion of a foreign entity. These skulls also possess a small flame within each eyesocket that acts as the Puck’s eyes and allows them to see. Their fur will become blacker (or in the case of a black-furred Puck's case, whiter) and coarser the closer it gets towards their hands and feets until it manages to completely become black. This fur is considerably coarser and has the consistency of sandpaper. Their environments shape their appearance and Pucks that are born in more cold climates up north will have long and thick fur that covers up their bodies well, whilst Pucks born in hotter environments will have either no fur or short fur that makes it easy for them to withstand the heat.
Pucks have different naming conventions for males and females, they do not go by the lettering or pronunciation of the name but instead of how many syllables the name pronounces. Females will have two syllable names, males will have three syllable names, yet these names are never human in nature.
Female names: Eira, Jaulee, Ishii, Enoi, Paoki, Metee
Male names: Kinater, Leidano, Prileeda, Ronkadi
