I had lots of fun at MCFC, it's the first con for a while now that I've actually really enjoyed and was able to sorta come out of my shell. Normally at cons I'm really shy and can't really get myself to interact more with people and I'm usually a stiff board, even in fursuit, but for some reason MCFC was different. I met people, I talked with people, I snugged people, I danced and actually enjoyed myself, I can't think of the last time I enjoyed myself at a con dance. It might have helped that this is the first con I've been 21 for, and being filled with alcohol definitely helped my social anxiety and shyness, but even when I was sober I felt a lot more open and confident about myself.

I was also really digging the small con feel MCFC had, people were a lot more willing to interact with random fursuiters and weren't solely obsessed with trying to find their favorite fursuiter, and people weren't always trying to rush to see all their friends, the interactions felt more genuine, and people seemed more willing to just hang out with random people. I dunno, I'm just kinda blabbing here trying to put my thoughts into words, but my past few cons (MFF and AC) have been hard on me and I didn't enjoy them as much as I should have, especially MFF since I didn't have much fun there last year. It's hard for me to come out of my shell, and especially hard when there's so many people all in their cliques and friend groups.

I think I'm gonna make a serious effort to go to more smaller cons and stay away from larger ones, I definitely enjoy myself a lot more at them. I'm hoping to make Furry Migration this year since it's smaller and I have a few people there I want to meet and see again; and I'm still planning on MFF this December, but if it's anything like how it was last year, I think that'll be my last large con for a few years a least.

I've been wanting to write this journal for months. I've finally managed to get myself to sit the hell down and just type.
I'm extremely bad at posting/updating my social media and I've been wanting to try to get better at it. I just get into
a mood and am unable to come up with things to say or post, and before I know it I've disappeared from everything for months
at a time. I suppose I get like anxious over posting things? I dunno, it's weird. It's like I'm constantly worried what people are
gonna think of me based on the kind of things I post. I know it's stupid and it's something I'm trying to break myself out of. I
constantly see myself shying away from things in real life and unable to do/say things when I'm confronted with a situation or
a conversation and I guess if it's something I can try to fix online maybe it'll help me in real life too. This journal is moreso for me
than anyone else, kind of a reminder to kick myself in the ass about being active online since I really enjoy sharing little tidbits about
my life and random things I find funny or cool or cute. I just wanna make random people's day better with something cute or
funny. Bleh. This journal is all over the place and I apologize I just needed to get my thoughts out there before I put too much
thought into it and decided against writing this journal again.


Anywayyyy, some recently life events of mine that I've been up to.
- Recently went to Wyoming from Michigan to watch the eclipse and got to do a bunch of cool stuff on the way there and back.
Went to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, The Badlands, Mount Rushmore, and Devil's Tower. Definitely the coolest adventure
I've been on in my life thus far.
- Started class back up again, taking a really light class load since I'm trying to balance it with work.
- Looking into upgrading Hemlock's head. I asked Buppa about a remake since her style and quality has improved so much but
unfortunately it looks like I won't get onto her October queue.
- I have a secondary character now with a fursuit coming, he's an African Wild Dog named Así. I'll post his ref sheet once I get back
from class since I'm getting close to having to leave.

Hi guys! I'm just posting this here for all the yooper furs who aren't in the facebook group.

We're going to be hosting the first UPFurry Spring Picnic in Marquette, Mi this year. It's going to be a picnic/potluck so it's recommended that you bring your own dishes to share, but not required!
The picnic date is June 17th and the picnic location is at the Marquette Tourist Park, 2145 Sugar Loaf Ave, Marquette MI. From 12-5 at Picnic Site #3, which can be found here: https://www.mqtcty.org/Departments/.....Park%20Map.jpg
There will be a $5 entry fee in order to help pay for the picnic site, and we will be using any left over money to go to future events.

A main dish will be provided, along with utensils, plates, cups, water for fursuiters, etc. Everyone is welcome to bring lawn games to play during the picnic, as well as frisbees and any other picnic appropriate games. We will also be taking a group photo, so everyone bring their suits and smiles! The photo will be put up on the Facebook page of UPFurry and used to replace our current (super outdated) cover photo.

We also have a carpool coming from Houghton, but if anyone else wants to set up a carpool for anywhere else, you can comment or privately message me and I'll announce it both here and on the offical facebook page.

I'm just gonna post a few feelings in very little coherent order because I don't wanna bother proof reading or anything, just want to talk about my feelings for this journal.. Just a couple days over a year ago, I got my fursuit, and I was the happiest lil' foxy that I've ever been.. I couldn't stop looking at him or putting his head on and looking at myself in the mirror, like the weirdo I was, I was giddy with delight as I wore him to my first furmeet a month later, and eventually brought him to my first convention I've been able to fursuit at, AnthrOhio, It's so great being able to fully bring my character to life, and get to be him - even for a short while - as it helps me be myself and gets me to be more active in a community I love.. even if it has its drama sometimes. I hope I'm able to look back on this years from now and see what a stepping stone into a happier and fuller life my fursuit has brought me, and I have hope I'll have many more suits that I'll be able to have unique and fulfilling experiences with just like Hemlock :3 Sorry for how cheesy this is, and thanks for reading this far if you have.

Well, I finally decided to name my fursona. I had actually named him a few weeks ago, but am only now deciding to write a journal on it, haha. I decided to name him Hemlock, since I'm a forester and have a love of trees and nature. Anyways, things and stuff. Moving on. I've been musing about replacing the tail on my fursuit, since it has a few downsides such as dragging on the ground and getting super dirty when I take it through dirt and whatever, and the fact it doesn't really much match my character. I have another tail made by Sharpe19 that I'll probably swap it out for, since the current one is sewn on. Sooo, I'll probably be doing that soon with some help from my yeena friend Akila.

Also, today I did a photoshoot with  QueenHyena, and she took a crap ton of photos, so I'll probably be uploading those for the next month just doing a few at a time, soo yeah.. awkward ending time. Thanks for reading. :P

Hello :o I'm bad at starting writing things so I like to start with acknowledging how bad I am at starting to write things. I've unfortunately been inactive on here for the past few weeks as finishing up work and getting ready to move into my new house was starting to consume my life :/. However, I'm (mostly, kinda... sorta....) moved in, Mr. Fox finally has his own little corner of the room to be displayed proudly when I'm not wearing him for the first time :p Also, with my new housemates all being my friends, I don't need to hide anything away like I had to do at home, (except maybe a few bad dragon naughties) which is a very nice freeing feeling ^.^

So yeah, I don't know what else to say except I finally have internet installed, and with a light(ish) class load this semester, hopefully I'll be able to do more furry stuffs, which is good because I kinda wanna get into writing, so if you care at all about what I post you might have that to look forward too. ;]

This is my first journal.. and I don't write much aside from research papers, so I apologize if this gets a bit long and I'm a little scatterbrained during it :p I know only 3-4 people actively watch my account, but I felt compelled to write this anyway. So.. anyway, this weekend's been a bit of a rollercoaster for me, I enjoyed Anthrocon a ton, like, way more than I thought I would, even though I was mostly fursuiting and attending panels alone, whereas I've always been with someone else for other cons. (I'll get to why that is later). So this is why I don't have any pictures of me with anyone else, or as many as I thought I would since this is my first real con that I've stayed at for the entire weekend, and from dawn until dusk.

Anyway, talking about Anthrocon, I'm super impressed with the way they set the con up, and it exceeded all of my expectations, and I loved suiting there, and meeting the people, and everything was just so perfect :3 The city of Pittsburgh really went all out to make us feel welcome, with random citizens talking to me, and wanting to get pictures with me when I suited, and the businesses really tried to make us feel welcome, and the furs there were especially nice. There was a warm, connected, welcoming feeling that I just didn't get from the other cons I had been to. It just felt like such a nice atmosphere from both the city and the con.. I don't really know how to describe it, lol. It also helped that the panels were AMAZING, from Kage's story hour to Whose Lion Is it?. It was such a well put together con, and I can't wait to go back next year. (Hopefully staying in the Westin next year, since the walk from the Doubletree sucks in suit.)

Now time to get a little more down and talk about some negative events that happened during the con in my life. The day I was starting the long haul to AC my boyfriend (Whom I was planning on attending AC with) called to break up with me. This led to the awkward circumstance that we had to share a room together for AC.. but I understand why he did it then and not after, he didn't want to lead me on, and he didn't want to crush me at the end of the con.. which I understand, and I'm a little grateful for at least. So that's why I spent most of the con alone, which was hard, since I have a hard time coming out of my shell, and get embarrassed easily.. even in my suit.. so I didn't get to talk to as many people as I would have liked, but meh, I still had loads of fun and there's always next year.

Soooo, that's my story. I'll be impressed if anyone makes it this far, lol. And if you did, thanks for reading, I really appreciate it =) Time to let the Post-con Depression set in for the next few days, and know it was completely worth it.
