Latest thoughts running around my brain...
Posted 15 years agoScribbling once again in my post-apocalyptic storybook. I may soon have enough to string it all together and have a whole story (horrors upon horrors! The world may end if I actually complete something! XD).
Once again wishing that I had sufficient talent to draw so that I could put my stories to comic form. I feel like many of my ideas would be better expressed in image form. I imagine most authors feel that way from time to time.
The graphic novel Bone and the movie Amadeus continue to be inspirational masterpieces, no matter how many times I read/view them. I can think of only a few stories as influential to my idea of achieving my creative desires as them.
Regarding the disappearance of the last journal, I thank you two who responded. ^_^ I really didn't expect an answer with a dollar sign attached... but sometimes I feel compelled to ask the question anyways.
Also, regarding the art I deleted, the answer is simple. I was annoyed at it. I truly was. Call it an artistic quirk.
Finally... *thinks* I dunno if there is a 'finally'. Ah well. Cookies for all! I'm off to play Prototype or Oblivion. One of the two.

Furry drama...
Posted 15 years agoIt's like a bad break-up. Everyone wants all the details of what happened, but no one wants to be in the room when it starts. And then everyone has an opinion about it, when it really isn't their business at all.
Just makes me laugh anymore. People are fighting over the stupidest things lately. The one involving certain sonic fans is especially hilarious to watch. It just keeps coming back

Nobody panic.
Posted 15 years agoYes, some of my art has been deleted off my account.
No, I didn't get hacked or anything.
Possibly an explanation will be given eventually.
I'm not sure yet. I'm toying with an idea.

Posted 15 years agoThis concrete jungle I inhabit is no safer then the one made of trees. Leather shrouds violence and the gutters fill with blood. Despite that, I stay. Why is simple. I stay because I am the only one who can try to do some good in this jungle. The protectors have long since fallen into the evil that festers like an open sore. They too will be purged in time. For now, the blackest of the black will feel my wrath.
My name? It matters little. It is the name of a man, a mortal form. I prefer the name those vial villains gave to me. They know me as "Heartless". It is the name of an idea, a force unstoppable by the crawl of time or simple death.
Tonight is one like any other. Rain sheets across the buildings and lightning slices through the dark. I trace my fingers along the cool glass as I gaze out into the city. The glass shutters as thunder slams against it. But as the sound rolls past, the shuttering doesn't cease.
The city is crying out. It demands blood.
Justice and Truth leap to my hands on my way to the window. My shadowed form pounced into the water and a chill ran down the spine of every criminal in the city.
August 15, 202X. Angel Memorial Hospital. Personal Journal of Doctor John Julian.
I can't decide if I should be horrified or fascinated. A young man was dragged in here by the police, literally. They threw him onto a gurney and handcuffed him to it hands and feet... twice. I'd never seen them do that before. And I was here when they brought in that Jack the Ripper copycat.
At first glace, I thought they had beaten him half to death. He was simply covered with blood and had a tracery of cuts all over his face. I started him on morphine and sent nurse Marinas to patch him up.
The cops told me they found him in an alley... eating the face off some hooker. As if that wasn't disturbing enough, when the cops tried to take him in, he pulled the ear off of one of them and ate that too. Would explain why he got the crap kicked out of him.
No ID, no wallet, nothing but lint and a switchblade in his wallet. Finger prints have literally been chewed off at some point in the past, so we have no idea who he is. He did wake up for a few seconds while he was getting stitched up to scream at the nurse. She said he yelled "Heartless" several times before fainting again.
As soon as he is awake for any length of time, I'm going to get the psychologist up to see him. It should be an interesting report.
I dunno. Was a little bored. Felt like filling this one out a little more. I'm not sure if I can keep up the direction of it though. I don't usually write dark stuff.
Also, Neighbors from Hell is a hilarious t.v. show. Srsly. Check it out. Yeah, that's right. I said Srsly. That's how good it is.

Today!
Posted 15 years agoToday I have realized several things...
1. If you don't laugh and ignore life for a little while, you'd break down and cry.
2. I may never be a serious writer... but I'm happy with that.
3. Tenchi Universe is freaking I'm-gonna-watch-this-in-my-room-when-no-one-is-home funny. *
4. There should be a harem anime where the main guy enjoys every second of the attention thrown at him by all these girls. Instead of fighting it like Tenchi does.
That is all. Cookies are on the table. XD
*Edit: CAPTAIN! He can only take so much cheese! He's cracking up! He's... he's... starting to MST3000 the anime!

Evil...
Posted 15 years agoEvil hides behind a human form. Beware darkness cloaked in skin. It comes for you. It seeks you out.
Reach not for the light either. Golden chains clank around their ankles and masks coat each face.
The middle path, twisted and narrow, shall be your only safe guide.
When in doubt you must look for the smiling cat. Cheshire know the fate of this world, even if we don't.
This concrete jungle I inhabit is no safer then the one made of trees. Leather shrouds violence and the gutters fill with blood. Despite that, I stay. Why is simple. For now, the blackest of the black will feel my wrath.
The steamy air was laced with passion. It raced through the room like a violent perfume, entrancing and entangling the senses. Flesh fell happy victim before it and with it went the mind. Music continued to pulse through the speakers unheeded by the ears. Legs and hips began their new dance, more wild and primal then the undulations that rocked the club moments before.
In the back, buried deep in a plush booth, a single woman smiled. Hunger reared like a shark from the water, cold and unfeeling and just as unmerciful. Warmth splattered and mingled with thick air. The flesh barely noticed and continued its native dance. Bestial tendencies drew back into its den of shadows, content with its meal and to watch.
These are a few of the ideas swirling around my brain tonight. Is it any wonder that I can't pick just one to settle down and write?
*chuckles*
Ah well. I'm trying. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some real writing done. I think I need to get out of my room to write. I spend too much time in here playing.

Posted 15 years agoSurprise Surprise. Even if Vuze has stopped supplying me with free anime. XD I'll figure out what's wrong with it eventually.
Overall good day. Cookies and lackeys for everyone.

Posted 15 years agoThere are days... when I want to punch much of this fandom in the face. Specifically the gay male furries. They do things... inexplicable things.... that just irritate the crap out of me.
Don't get me wrong. I have an openly gay friend. I'm cool with that. It's just that minority of gay male furries that draws porn.
I really wish they would stop. Really I do.
Someone make them stop. It's really annoying.

A new quote today....

Full Name: Virilium Venulias the 5th. (People insist on calling him Aaron though.)
Nicknames: None yet, unless you count Aaron.
Age/Height/Weight: 2.5 years old (24 in people years. Pens age slowly) / About 8 inches long / Not telling.
Place of Residence: Moves around quite a bit. Usually can be found lounging on his favorite desk.
Occupation: Writing stuff.
Family: Father (Fountain Pen), Mother (Uniball), Bother (Sharpie) as well as various other cousins and such.
Race/Species: Pen / Black.
Injuries/Scars: Chew marks on the cap and a long scratch down left side.
--
Gender: Male.
Sexual orientation: Straight.
Relationship: Engaged to a very well stacked pack of paper. (*wink wink nudge nudge*)
Sexual Kinks/Fetishes: Pretty tame. Tentacles, creampies and toys. (Himself included)
Other special relations: Friends with a mixed pack of markers and dry erases. They get together weekly to hang out.
--
Hobbies: Writing, Games, Reading (comics and mangas mostly) as well as Traveling.
Likes: College Ruled paper, Notepads, occasional burrito.
Dislikes: Spicy foods, ink shortages, sparkle dogs.
Fears: "My greatest fear is that I'll have all the pens in the world and nothing left to write." (Personal quote)
Talents: Very legible handwriting, creative, blunt at times.
Favorite foods: Mac and cheese as well as anything sweet.
Religious affiliation: None, save to the belief that there is a force larger then us and it's not an organized religion.
--
Brief History:
Bought in a store like so many others, V5 outshone the rest of his brethren to receive the coveted spot in the Pocket. Elated, he quickly set to work being as useful as possible. Words flowed onto the page with a flourish and a fire that brought envy of the others. But the talent comes and goes on the whim of a fickle muse. Sometimes it's days or even weeks before the words come back to him. During these times, he dreads that he may be thrown away, discarded for a newer, more creative pen. He never has been yet.
Most recently starred in a photo shoot and helped design a successful, if confusing, Dungeons and Dragon game. Upcoming plans include designing a new character as well as an overdue return to creative writing. Soon there will be time for it.

Day 14 - Catching up.
Posted 15 years agoAll right, I know I've been quite for over a week now, but I have still been writing. I hit a brick wall at day 5, so I've taken to writing on my laptop while watching T.V. instead of listening to music. Problem is, my laptop doesn't have internet access, thus why I haven't been posting.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3606448
The link above directs you to the compiled writings of my story so far, including today's portion. It is unedited and a bit rough, but I thought it would be better to do it that way rather then post it as a huge journal. So feel free to scroll down to where I left off before.
As always, I'm open to thoughts, ideas, criticism and such about the story. I'm trying not to edit as I write... get to the end and actually finish a story before finishing up. That's still a skill I lack.
Story postings in journals /should/ resume tomorrow. I'm not entirely sure which way I want to do it yet. What do ya all think?
Anyways, enough of my ramblings. Have a good night everyone!
P.S. I haven't forgotten about the zombie story... I've just gotten wrapped up in this one. XP

Day 4 - Story 2
Posted 15 years agoPlay List:
Yesterday - The Beatles
Everything You Know is Wrong - Weird Al
You're Gonna Go Far, Kid - The Offspring
Right Now - SR71
Paint It Black - Rolling Stones
Memories In Me - Remix
Kiss Me Deadly - Big Reel Fish
My dreams came suddenly as if the Sandman was in a hurry. I found myself standing in a field as bright and clear as any movie might have shown. Not a single cloud hid the sun from me. Grasses rolled around my knees, driven with a breeze to appear like the sea.
Unlike what is usual for dreams, I knew this was a dream. The feeling of wind against my skin felt false somehow and the sky looked like it was painted on. I looked closely and found a spot of it peeling. So I reached up and tried to grab it. I wasn't surprised that I could. It felt like grabbing a piece of cotton. A sudden urge took a hold of me and I tugged at the bit of atmosphere. It came down easily, tearing a line down the sky.
Beyond the blue was a blackness that was as deep as space. No stars shined in it, but veins of red traced within. Intrigued, I tugged harder until the world was split in two. Darkness inhabited one half and the sun ruled over the other.
The lines of red converged on a figure in the darkness. He was blacker than shadow, absorbing even that into himself. He was a being light didn't even know existed. He breathed out in a roiling cloud of purification and red ash. It fluttered around me, but I was unmoved. I simply stared at it like one would look at his own doom coming for him at a charge.
A breath in, shaking the grass with gale force winds, before he spoke.
"Ah, found me at last. I was curious if you ever would."
I tried to answer but all that emerged was the drawing of a fish. I batted it away, managing a kitten this time. I frowned, annoyed. The Blackness snickered. It was a sound like dried beans dragged across sandpaper.
"Still can't control yourself. Perfect. I've been getting peckish waiting for you."
It reached out a hand like a skinless dog's paw. The darkness bowed out of his way. Something deep inside me shivered. Right below my stomach. He snickered again.
At the edge of the darkness, his hand ran into nothing, claws scraping what sounded like glass. His featureless face frowned with displeasure. His hand came crashing down in a fist complete with fingers. The air wavered slightly, but did not give to him. I saw it shimmer with a bit of green. Green like the grass.
A grumble of frustration as he tried once more.
"Protected. Damn you. Damn her. I will have you. She cannot protect you forever. She can barely protect you now!" His voice took an edge of violence there at the last. A velvet curtain began drawing itself over the nothingness that separated light and dark. The Blackness grumbled some more, tearing a golden tassel off its slender rope before he disappeared behind the crimson curtains. Once they closed, its lack was the only sight anything was behind it.
But I knew. That place beneath my stomach knew as well. It shivered again.
I woke up then with a suddenness usually reserved with waking from a nightmare. But I wasn't covered in a cold sweat and I certainly hadn't cried out. So why did I think I was having a nightmare? My sleepy brain tried to puzzle at this and grasp as the shreds of my dream. They slipped out of its fingers and disappeared back into Morpheus' pocket.
I stretched and realized with a bit of a start I was naked. I never usually slept like that. I wondered then how I had even gotten home as my brain switched on the light switch to the room of my memories. I looked down at my arm with a bit of dread.
It was completely hairless and sheeted with pink, new skin... but it didn't hurt. There wasn't even a trace of burnt skin, nor a smell of one either.
"So it was real. I wonder where the fairy went?"
My answer came in the form of a yawn from the pillow next to me. A tiny, naked, emerald winged fairy lay curled there. Part of my mind wondered why her wings weren't made of leaves anymore. Another part wondered why she was naked. A third demanded again to know why I was naked.
Oh me, oh me. I finally solved the problem of where this story was headed. My imagination was firmly set on doing some sort of ambulance ride scene before I sat down to write tonight. And then this came out. I like it actually. Writing about dreams is fun.
I still worry that my writing is a bit too... lyrical?... I guess that word works. But then, I've read books written similarly and I loved them. Forward the Mage was a good example. Or at least that was my impression when I came away from it.
Ah well! I do hope things are getting interesting.

Day 3 - Story 2
Posted 15 years agoPlaylist:
Guilty Pleasure - Cobra Starship
Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance (Love this song so much)
Shimmer - Fuel
Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
Still Alive - Jonathan Coulton
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
One of these days I'll include more of my classical collection into my playlist.
I felt like a force of nature; fiery wrath given flesh and blood and turned loose. I took a hard, heavy step towards the displacer beast. No longer was it a thing of terror and death in my eyes. Now it looked much more like a small insect waiting to be squashed. And it knew it.
But death would not take it laying down. A defiant roar rocked through my ears. The night practically bent around the tentacle as it lashed towards me. But I was much faster. My sizzling hand grabbed a fistful of sinue and fur. I was delighted by the scream of pain I was rewarded with.
Something in my neck twinged as I felt my elation turn to raw, destructive fury. I tossed aside the ruined flesh and dashed towards the creature. The world whizzed by at a blur and within a few heartbeats I was standing in front of it. It whimpered again.
My flaming palm found the feline muzzle and slammed it backwards with a blast of flames. The night lit up momentarily as a blue copy of itself, stark and somehow cold despite the heat. My head flew back in a triumphant shout as limp flesh fell to the floor. At my foot, a smoking skull lay grinning up at me.
"Wow. Evocation and self-enhancement. For an Awakened, that's impressive. I told you there was magic to be had in you." The voice in my ear purred.
"This is incredible! I don't know how I did it and I can barely believe it... but wow!" I shouted, excitement driving my voice. A dull throb started at the base of my neck. I ignored it.
My antics enticed a chuckle from the green fairy.
"Don't worry. Soon you'll know how to call fire and wind and water on your own. For now, this was just me borrowing your magic." I felt her feet dig against my shoulder. I didn't immediately realize what she was doing.
"Borrowing... You can do that?" I wondered aloud.
I didn't get my answer that night. Her hands pulled out from my neck. With them rushed adrenaline, magic and my consciousness. I didn't even remember hitting the floor.
I feel like I should be getting more then this done in 20 minutes, but even this much output a day is a good step for me. 386 words. Not horrible I suppose.
How much do you get done in 20 minutes?

Day 2 (almost) - Story 2
Posted 15 years agoTechnically, it's 12:21 am on day 3, but I was out partying. XP I love my friends.
Playlist:
Through The Fire And Flames - Dragonforce
The Diary Of Jane - Breaking Benjamin
Love Is War - Miku Hatsune
With My Mind - Unknown
You're Gonna Go Far, Kid - The Offspring.
The body that flowed out of the shadows was covered in deep purple fur, feline and at least as large as a tiger. Out of it's back, just behind the shoulder blades, rose two pairs of tentacles that ended in a flail covered with two inch spikes. Each step it took was followed by an afterimage, as if it existed in two places at the same time. It snarled at me again and I shivered. I knew what it was, even if I had only seen it in pictures and stories.
"Displacer Beast." I whispered.
"Very good. I knew you weren't stupid." A voice in my ear said. I realized it was the fairy, but fear of the beast in front of me kept my eyes locked on it.
"Just surprised. You guys were legends a car crash ago."
She snickered at my quip. I didn't have brain power to waste on humor, taking a short step back. The Displacer Beast padded one closer. I swallowed again.
Geeze, I discover magic is real only to have it try and kill me.
"So what do we do?" I asked her. She landed lightly on my shoulder. She only weighted as much as a small rock, so I almost didn't notice.
"Now you use your magic to destroy the thing." Arrogance and confidence laced her voice.
"What? What magic? I don't know how to use it!"
"You what? But you're brimming with it!"
I didn't even have time to think about that comment. The beast had tired of listening to us chat and launched itself at me. I threw myself to the side. Fur and claw and tooth sliced through my shirt, but missed the skin. I lost some to the pavement though. I hissed a bit at the pain.
"Stop fooling around! Blast it!" A voice I was quickly growing tired on screamed in my ear.
"I told you..." My head shot up as I heard something whiz through the air. I rolled. Concrete shattered where I had been. I kept rolling until I managed to come up on my knees. My left one throbbed, but I ignored it. I had managed to get out of easy pouncing range as well as away from the reach of the tentacles. For the moment, the creature stared at me with such malevolent eyes. I could feel its hate that I had dodged its attacks.
"If you can't do it, we'll have to take desperate measure. Time enough for tenderness later." The fairy didn't bother to explain further before burying both hands into the side of my neck, just under the ears. I would have screamed if my vocal cords hadn't frozen in place. It felt like she was stabbing two needles directly into my spine. The pain traveled upwards, every inch agony. It was all I could do to keep my feet. The world wavered through watery eyes. That was when my arm burst into flames... literally.
Blue fire licked from under my skin, my fingernails. It flowed off my fingers like an imitation of water. My entire being turned into a scream. But then, after a long moment, it was like a switch flipped. The pain was gone in an instant. My eyes shot open at the sudden lack of sensation. I looked down numbly, expecting a piece of charcoal instead of an arm.
My fear was disproved and dispelled as I lifted my hand, perfectly fine. Skin was blackened and hair was missing, true, but everything worked just fine. Fingers responded and muscled flowed seamlessly under flesh. I looked up at the displacer beast and grinned a horrible, terrifying grin of power unleashed.
It whimpered.
I had more fun with this one, probably because I am still charged up from being with my friends. I think it flowed a lot better as well. I keep thinking I'm concentrating too much on the small details, but I'm trying not to listen to the naysayer in my brain.

Day 1 - Story 2
Posted 15 years agoToday's Playlist
Nowhere Man - Beetles
Exiled Samples - Newgrounds artist
The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
Handlebars - Flobots
Engal (German version) - Ramstien
It happened at night, a calm and muggy one common to Florida in the Spring. I was driving home from a night class, Physics, down a back road highway. No streetlights flashed by my window and none but my own headlights illuminated the road in front of me. Even at 60 mph, my attention wandered.
I was 23 at the time, struggling to get through any kind of degree that would land me a job. At the time it had been Electronics Engineering. It's hilarious to me now just how worried I was about something that would soon become the least important thing in the world.
I don't remember exactly when it happened, but all of a sudden I noticed a green glow outside my driver side window. I glanced at it. My mouth fell open and I forgot for a moment I was driving a car. Outside my window a tiny fairy was keeping pace with me.
She was about eight inches tall with wings made of leaves and vines. She was furiously beating them and looking over her shoulder. Her face had a timeless kind of cute quality to it, like a cherub, with pouting lips. I was still staring at her when she noticed my eyes on her and looked back. I couldn't honestly say which one of us were more surprised.
So I did the only logical thing. I rolled down my window. Wind streamed in with a whistling fury, but I raised my voice to be heard above it.
"Ah... um..." Was all I could manage. I had never seen a fairy before, though I wished I could many times.
"Please don't tell me the first person who can see me in sixty years is a moron." Her voice was tiny, but not high. It had a husky feel to it and a decidedly sarcastic tone at the moment.
"What? No... no, I'm not a moron." I glanced back at the road, corrected my course a little and went back to staring at her.
She was looking back over her shoulder.
"You need a ride or something?" I asked with a calmness I didn't really fear.
"That wouldn't be wise."
"Why's tha..."
My obvious question was interrupted by my car forgetting about gravity. Something slammed into the trunk of my car like a meteor before bouncing off. I didn't start screaming until my car had already flipped over twice.
Thankfully, my car landed on the road and even better, with the tire side down. I felt a tooth crack the force of the impact tried to shoot my jaw up to my forehead. Underneath me, a tire went flying and an axle broke. I continued skidding for some distance, sending sparks flying the entire way, before finally coming to a rest.
I groaned and battled airbag out of my face. The powder found a way up my nose and I sneezed, sending a jolt of pain along my jaw. I was really going to hurt once adrenaline wore off.
"If that's what I get for saying hi to a fairy, I wonder what happens if I ask for her name." I mumbled joking to myself. I released my seat belt and had to give the door a few kicks before it finally flew open. As I stepped out into the night, something growled.
I spun to my left. A pair of red, glowing eyes greeted me as the growl repeated. It was deep, cat-like and altogether terrifying as sounds go. I swallowed... hard.
There we go. I don't really like it, but I did it. XD

Prestory 1 and 2 as well as a personal challenge.
Posted 15 years agoWell now, due to GreyRaven's poking I feel compelled to get up off my lazy ass and actually do some writing, even if it's bad.
THEREFOR you will all be subjected to my bad writing every day. Each day I'm going to post what writing I get done in 20 minutes (or more, but no less then 20). It shall be posted not /really/ in the intention of getting feedback on it, but more to prove to myself and others (Danielle) that I can write if I stop being lazy. I shall do this for one month solid, starting tomorrow March 10th until April 10th. Then the collected works of that month will be gathered, edited as needed and submitted in full for feedback. I'll probably post them on Critique Circle as well if I think they're good enough.
I also wish to set a limit on number of stories going at once, since my mind classically wanders if I don't force it into some kind of shape. So from henceforth you shall see me writing about no more then three different stories. The first two are ones that I have been trying to get out of my head for ages without success and the third is a buffer to give my imagination some breathing room. The third hasn't been thought about at all yet. Below you will find the prestory/brief overview of what I want the stories to be about. You may read if you wish or be surprised when I start writing tomorrow.
The vain part of my brain once again demands a viewed counter on my journals. I am curious just how many people keep up with my journals.
Prestory 1:
In the near future, zombies have begun to overrun the United States. You will follow the pages of Jerry's journal as he flees northward with his friends and family. This one may be a little dry to read, seeing how it'll be journal entries, but I wanted to give it a shot.
Prestory 2:
Aaron Fredrick was your typical video game nerd, until a green fairy awakened the magic inside. His new found powers will have to grow quickly as the shadows seem determined to send all matter of nightmares his way. But who sits behind the shadows and why do they fear Aaron so much?
Very basic overviews of what I hope to write about, like I said. I do hope I don't suck too much, but even if I do I shall go on! You shall all suffer through it with me! XD
*insert evil laughter and offer of cookies here*
Night everyone! See you tomorrow.

Do I care?
Posted 15 years agoProbably not.
    Midnight Madness and Inspirations.
Posted 15 years agoLately I've been coming across more and more inspirational ideas to shore away in my catalog of creativity. I thought I'd share them with you all, so you might likewise be inspired.
I Kill Giants by Joe Kelly & JM Ken Niimura
Honestly, I picked up this graphic novel based on the title and first few pages. It looked like such a good read and I wasn't disappointed. An engrossing story that made me want to explore every inch of it. I will definitely be rereading it over and over again. It's unusual, almost sketchy art style fit very well with the story.
Chew by John Layman & Rob Guillory
Another instant favorite of mine. Built around the alternate reality that the Avian Flu was responsible for millions of deaths worldwide. As a result, the FDA (Food and Drug Association) was granted powers above and beyond the CIA and FBI for enforcing the destruction of any and all chickens as well as chicken products. Sounds kind of boring? Throw in a Cibopathic (Someone who can see "memories" of anything he ingests) named Tony Chu and things just get interesting. This story has several twists, turns and more then your fair share of laughs along the way. As I've only read the first issue so far (the only to be released), my greatest praise is that I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for the next one to come out.
The Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way & Gabriel Ba
Now this series certainly has something for everyone. Time travel, oddball super powers, the world actually getting blown up, irony, psychopaths, jabs at God, a rampaging Lincoln statue and a whole ton of action in between it all. Really, really engrossing and invigorating to see so many unusual and new ideas thrown at me at once. Neil Gaiman (I think you heard of him) personally writes the forward to the second book and gives it two thumbs really far up. Personally, I need to sew another few fingers on to express my like for this series. Written by one of the guys from My Chemical Romance too, if you can believe that.
These really deserve to be shared with you all. They get my brain pumping and make me want to create.
On a side note: Little Nemo is such a 'childhood moment' movie for me. People say it's not particularly great as a movie, but as a creative piece I adore it. Dreams and Nightmares and the line between. The idea inspires me to such a degree that my players in my Dungeons and Dragons game are likely to hate me after the next story arc.
Anyways, good night and I hope you enjoy my recommendations.

Miscellaneous news, ideas, and addictions.
Posted 15 years agoFacebook flash games are swallowing my souls. (Yes, I have more then one). It started out with just the Cafe one, but now there's a treasure hunter, Fish tank and a business all sitting on my bar there, begging for attention. Ah well, I'll get that addiction under control.
Minor stress about my last physics test. It'll probably decide if the entire class revolts, overthrows the teacher and I have to spend another semester down here in Florida. I really don't want to. I might have to anyways if I can't cram my last 5 classes into one semester.

Physics is a math class you moron of a teacher! Don't teach us theory for 90% of the class periods to date and then have a test that is 100% math problems! Concentrate on the math and for GODS SAKE NO MORE MULTIPLE CHOICE MATH TESTS!
/end rant
In other news, The Green Fairy (Working title) is almost ready to have the first chapter posted. Sorry about the tease last time. I warn you all that it won't be awesome... but first drafts seldom are. It's basically me slamming my head against a sheet of paper and getting the idea out. Jebus, I'm making excuses and you all haven't even seen it yet. XD My confidence level still needs work. I shall work on getting it posted sometime late this week or early next week.
Aside from that, I have two new level 60s on WoW. A Night Elf Druid (kitty variety) and a Human Priest. Not spectacular news, but something to tack on.
Anyways, cheers! Yo ho ho and a bottle of mountain dew and all that.
*Edit* Scored a 60 on the test, which was still better then 75% of the class. Hopefully the teacher'll take this as a wake up call. I'll be finding out later tonight. (He posted the scores online)

It all starts somehow...
Posted 15 years agoIt all started with a fairy. One that glowed green.
Her name is Jenivive. She stand about as tall as my hand is long and has a shapely figure. Her hair like wild, curly flames around her head and her skin was the color of polished maple. She has piercing green eyes and a pointed chin with a tongue to match both. She floats around without wings, usually by my right shoulder. I've found her to be a strict teacher, a lecherous drunk and every bit as complicated as a human woman.
But I'm getting ahead of myself.
It was three months ago, that Wednesday night after college physics. It was just starting to show some semblance of warmth in the air and the leaves were beginning to come back. Farmers had begun preparing their fields. Grass had decided it had sat around long enough. And I zoomed my way past all of it on a back road highway towards home. An easy, boring, thirty minute commute home.
I yawned and flipped through the radio channels. Hard rock screamed a bloody chorus at me. I winced and tried again. This time I was rewarded with some classical music involving a piano and several strings. I never could identify composers. I settled back and enjoyed the calming effect of the music as my mind wandered across what I had learned today. Occasionally it took side trips towards zombies and the newest video games.
Something out my driver side window made me glance out. A sudden urge or some locked away portion of my brain poking me, I never would know. I saw something glowing green outside the window. I looked away. Half a moment later I looked again with wider eyes.
"You've got to be kidding me!" I belted out to no one in particular.
Flying within reach of my car door, at speeds I wouldn't have dared to attempt without a windshield, was the faerie. I stared in disbelief. That something that made me look poked me harder. I realized that her mouth was moving. She was obviously trying to say something to me through the glass. So I rolled it down. The blast of noise from the wind almost masked her voice, but it had a piercing quality to it.
"Finally! You know how hard to fly this fast?!" She demanded of me. Without even waiting for an invitation, she made a bee-line through my window.
"Quickly! Roll it up!" The faerie said as her toes touched down on my dashboard.
"Wha...? Uh, Why?" I replied dumbly, my brain still trying to take a moment to absorb the fact a faerie actually exists.
And that was when my car flipped over.

All quiet on this side of the melon captain.
Posted 15 years agoYeah, I've been pretty quiet lately. I have no excuses but life and a lack of anything to submit lately.
It's not that I've hit a creative block or anything. Far from it. I'm actively and busily engaging all parts of my creative brain on the Dungeons and Dragons game I'm running. Everyone seems to be enjoying it (still a major surprise to me) so I'm happy.
It is very draining for some reason. Maybe it's just my brain overclocking on the day of the event every week. Not sure, but it's still enjoyable.
School is progressing about as well as can be expected. The schedule is wonky and grueling some days, but the end result will be worth it. I may be staying in Florida for a semester longer then I had planned with the way the class schedules are shaping out. I'm really not sure yet. Either I stay one more semester or I cram 5 classes into one semester. Even that might not be possible. From a financial point of view, it might be better to stay those few extra months. But I'm not thinking of finances. I'm thinking of being with my Kitten.
Ah well. Such is life.
I expect my game to run on to about the end of the year, unless everyone hurtles the story much faster then I think they're going to. It really depends on the pace the players set. Everyone seems so goal oriented, so it might be over in as soon as a few months.
In between all this, I still work about 25 hours a week and spend every moment I can with Danielle. World of Warcraft is a decent enough diversion, but both of us are getting tired of it as an only option. We've tried Guild Wars and I already rescued her from Maple Story once... Any good suggestions on a game we could play together?
Someone mentioned Everquest 2... but I just look at people who suggest that funny. I've heard such weird things about the game.
We'll probably just hang on until Cataclysm comes out later this year sometime. Then World of Warcraft will practically be a whole new game and we'll be set for a long time.
....
I've rambled enough. Thanks for listening. XD
