General nonsense journal. I hope everyone has had a great week! I'm counting down the weeks till the holidays where I'll be heading up north for a little bit! Hopefully one day I might make a move up there too :)

I hardly write journals, so let's have one here!

I've been thinking a lot of the last couple of weeks, mainly about where I am now, and what beholds my future. Almost every day I come home from work (despite my tiredness) I usually am so thankful about where things have fallen for me, in regards of work, relationship, friendship, and so on!

My parents have always told me they'd have never have thought to see me finishing school, going to university, let alone hold full time jobs. It's not a negative statement mind, it's all cause of me having learning difficulties in school due to Asperger's. Now I know many furries frown upon this discussion and I can understand why, so before anyone asks, yes I was diagnosed, and no, I don't talk about it that much apart from this mention because it doesn't take a hold of my life anymore.

With this, and being bullied at school, parents divorcing, the family generally falling apart and me slowly discovering my homosexuality, the cards were a little bit stacked against me. Granted, I won't say I had the worst, as I know many others have had worse childhoods, and I'm lucky to never have been in such horrible circumstances. That being said, life was pretty tough!

Managing to get through an extra year of 6th form and getting a Desmond at university for Music Tech (that's a 2:2 for those who don't know) I managed to meet quite a few friends, one of which was  Shaun2k5. He's now my boyfriend of over 4 years. I've been through quite a few people before my current relationship, something which I'm not so terribly proud of, but such is life. He has helped shaped me to be the current person I am today, and I'm extremely thankful for it. Without him I don't think I'd be where I am today, so thank you so much Shaun. Hopefully at some point we'll be more than just boyfriends <3

As for jobs, I got my start at Sega, and the only thing I have to thank them for is for me getting the foot in the door. They haven't been good for much else :P. After a year of "sabbatical" (i.e. consistent job searching) I got myself at Splash Damage for a year, and I've been greatful to be there, despite the unfortunate circumstance that ended my tenure there. Been given many skills and traits, I'm now currently at Rocksteady, which I would have never expected! I only hope that I can help them create what could possibly be the best finale to a game series in quite a long time!

So I've essentially rambled on about my life, but to what purpose? Because to be honest, there needs to be a bit of positivity around here. I know a lot of luck was involved in where I am today, but I can honestly say I've worked my damned hardest to get here, despite the various setbacks over the years. Yes, I have moaned quite a bit when those have happened, but eventually I just keep getting back up and knocking those obstacles down. I apologies if that sounded arrogant or egotistical, but I firmly believe that with a lot of situations, with help from friends and loved ones of course, the only way to move forward is to tackle things head on.

I must give my thanks to my family, my amazing boyfriend, my awesome friends whom I've met over the years, even though I have been a bit of an arsehole sometimes, a lot of you still put up with me, so I'm ever so greatful. You know who you are! And I hope people can be inspired to keep going forward. Always look to your friends and loved ones to help you along the way, you'll be greatful!

Even though it's been about....a month and a half since it happened, let's talk about Poland!

Hosted by  bennyboar it was a week long trip, where it involved everything from not even getting out of the carpark, to the CHEAP TESCO FOOD SHOPPING, to everyone getting smashed multiple times over!

Seeing  uk.temperance and  equium drunk was quite possibly one of the most hilarious things I've seen! Though I wasn't that much better myself....right  shaun2k5?

All the board games we played was really really fun, and I want to start getting some of them myself! Thanks also to Timber, Flux, and Mousie for providing lots of entertainment! :3

I would absolutely love to go again, was quite possibly the best holiday I've had for a long time, so really special thanks to  bennyboar for making this all happen, you're awesome :)

Overall I had a good birthday today! Went to the Birmingham main meet with  shaun2k5 and it was fun to meet peeps! Stayed at Satoshi's place before heading back home today.

Well, 2012 is at its end. Have I had a good year?

Well, overall yea! Though I did lose my job at the end of January, I met all sorts of awesome friends, you know who you are!

I also had an amazing time at Scotiacon with a win no less, which I'm really surprised about. I won't be returning next year, but I can't deny the wonderful experience :)

I've done silly things during the year too, dickish things in fact, to which I apologize unreservedly for. I can only hope the next year I can be a much better person :)

I'm currently at a game night hosted by  BennyBoar and co, which is an awesome end to the year!

So yea, remember that work contract that I was pretty much guaranteed?

Well, it's not happening, at least not yet. Due to "unexpected delays" they are putting recruitment on hold for a couple of weeks, and there's no guarantee on when they'll contact me afterwards.

I mean, WHAT THE FUCK?

One week they tell me they are working on my contact, the next I get screwed over. AGAIN!

So Wetherspoons ditch me after a work trial screwup on their end. Shops don't want me. Shops after cleaning positions don't want me. Bars don't want me. Fucking McDonald's doesn't want me. I went to the lower common denominator, and I still get FUCK all.

What do I have to do to get work? Do I have to hold a sign out on a street like someone did? Cause if that's what it takes I'll do it. Cause I hate this. It fucking sucks.

I still want to work for WarChest but fucking hell this pisses me off.

I WANT A JOB DAMMIT.

Just got an email saying that I'll be offered a contract next week, (HR isn't in office till next week) to start working for WarChest from the beginning of October! :D:D:D

Well I didn't get the Yuforia Job, but there's another job that I could get!

This time it's for a QA position in WarChest Games, also affiliated with Splash Damage, known for making Enemy Territory and Brink. I just had a telephone interview with one of the higher ups and he seems to like me! The salary is £17,000 but QA people are on 3 month contracts, still, not so bad :3

I will get an email soon regarding a face-to-face interview! I really hope I get this one! If not there's always the McDonalds interview this thursday......

This was my first furry convention and it was absolutely bloody amazing!

I came up to Inverness on Tuesday with  Shaun2k5 and  aura_firelight to stay at  dondrakore place for a couple of days,  petefox and  jokanai-henka also joined us, so it was a lot of fun!

Then on Thursday we checked the hotel out, bed was awesome, bar was awesome, everything was awesome! Thanks to  smirnoff for getting us a round of drinks too!

Friday me and Shaun registered and checked out the pool area, which we ended up using every day until we had to leave on Monday. Really loved being able to swim again! We also checked out the dealers den, and I took part in the DDR challenge, and I thought I did ok! Aura was a worthy winner but I hope I provided good competition!
Also attended the dance in the evening, I went absolutely crazy! I never thought I could dance as much as I did, but it was certainly worth it!

Saturday was really nice, I ended up buying a few things at the den, like a conbadge, a SC T-shirt, and a  foxamoore CD! Also attended Eat Scotland, and while it was a shame that there were no deep fried mars bars, at least I enjoyed the shortcake! Swam more and danced more! The art auction was absolutely crazy, the generosity of the furs here was really stunning.

Sunday was jam-packed for me! Took part in the Pool Tourney with Shaun, and ended up completely sucking ._.
Listened in on the Fox Amoore jam session and it was amazing, props to Wolfer for his violin work too! Reminds me I need to practice more of my own violin.
The Pub Quiz was awesome, surprised we managed to be the 3rd placed team, but thanks to Shaun, Joka, Don, and Dash for being an awesome team!

Then there was the Furryvision, it was a blast! I really liked some of the songs that were performed, but I was really surprised I managed to get 106 points and ended up winning the thing! I honestly thought I was only ok, but hey, I got a whisky bottle out of it! And thanks again to Fox Amoore for buying me a drink after!

I did a little bit of dancing with Shaun before I went to bed, and unfortunately we both had to go early Monday morning so no group photo for us! ;_;

So I found a job listing, a really really good job listing! A video game quality assurance analyst, and for what other company than........Nintendo of Europe! o.o

Only thing is........the post is in Frankfurt, Germany.......

The pay is €1950, which works about to be around £1600 (maybe less) a month, so about £18.5k a year. Very decent pay for something like this.

But my main issue is leaving my loved one and friends behind, I know I easily catch flights, but I don't know if I could bare not seeing my bear and any of my friends for long periods of time....
