As cliche as it is, the "Yoshii" moniker has sort of become emblematic to some very tumultuous times in my life, and I would love nothing more than to shed it. SO I WILL. i'll bookend that chapter of my life.

is having a FREE fursuit head raffle, and that's pretty sweet, you should check it out, their stuff is legit!
And I'm, as usual, still alive! I'm hopping in the saddle and through a combination of better living through chemisty, CBT and general therapy, I'm getting more and more on my feet! I'm catching up on all my old owed debts, and I'm really determined to finally get 100% caught up! Liger feet are done, Myrilla's junk from YEARS AGO OMG I'M TERRIBLE is being finished, and I'm pecking away at my modest art queue! With any luck and some more gumption, I should be regularly updating again!
My raccoon suit is still up for offer, and shortly I'm going to offer a meerkat (or other similar mammal) foam base up for adoption! It was a project for someone but due to reasons the client is no longer interested, so now this meerkitty needs a home!

like I've honestly never gotten the complaint against them beyond "they generally market to a pretty specific body type of character, and if your character ISN'T that animu humanoid sort of furry then the entire market tends to ignore you", but it's like if I have these poses I drew for warming up, why SHOULDN'T someone commission me to use it, you know?
I've actually been drawing a lot, but nothing i've wanted to post here, but yyyyeeeeaaah this job is not making me anywhere near as much money as my old one and I'm feeling the squeeze. But a lot of the times I kind of "choke" on regular commissions when I can't figure out specific posing for the idea they have and etc, so this seems like a reasonable compromise?
And about suits; commissions are closed while I bluntly Improve. I'm probably going to make a few pre-mades to tighten up my technique and play with a few ideas, but I really want to offer the best product possible, and it seems like this would be the best way of doing that!
I have the next few days off, I'm DEFINITELY attending to my backlog of sewing (Liger feet, Myrilla junk, Tenshi PROJECTS) might make a coyote or a grey fox suit to auction, doodle a few preposes or whatever, yeah!

I AM still alive. The onset of some heretofore unbeknownst mental issues really threw a wrench in my life and my progress - and then I lost my job early October, which is
not good. However, it did open me up to start drawing again, and to realize how much I'd been neglecting this community and this outlet! My guilt for my owed work has made me PRETTY AVOIDANT, but then I remember, like... going to cons and selling con badges and all the crazy prep and fun of all that and TALKING TO PEOPLE and I miss it. So I'm doing my best to get back in the saddle! I've said that a million times before, but this time I mean it FOR REALS, Y'ALL. I've already got some sketches and junk like that, and truth be told I'm almost caught up with everything in my life!
I'm sorry for turning into such a hermit. With any luck Yoshii will be a name you see in your inbox a LOT more very shortly though. Y'all rock <3

I've been doing alright (barring a pretty bad anxiety attack the past few days, unfortunately), in fact I'm about to post a five-part commission I just finished, and I'm about to be done with two partial suits!! So this is me taking stock of the work I have on my table and making sure nothing's slipped through the cracks! I think... I'm actually almost completely caught up! Anyone out there got roomspace? I'm chill as hell, clean, quiet, and wouldn't drag other people into the room without permission, blah blah I'm not high maintenance at all. I know I got plenty of friends headed that way, so y'all know me and know I'm chill, but instead of contacting everyone one by one and getting a yes/no (due to the fact I know I'm kinda hoppin in here kinda late), I figure it'd be easier to cast my line like this c: Please comment or bug me and I'll fill you in with more details, thanks!

I'm STILL alive, I haven't abandoned my commissions or anything, I'm just a li'l overwhelmed by life in general right now and I've been doing a really shitty job of Coping. I'm really sorry, all. It might help to know that I've long since stopped taking on new commissions, and once I'm nice and caught up I'm only going to take commissions in the future on a one-at-a-time basis. I'm sorry again for LETTING this situation happen, but I'm doing my best to make it right. I'm just dealing with a lot of shit but having these obligations fall by the wayside isn't cool!! So let's start this new year right, I'ma do my best to answer all the notes I have rockin' right now, send progress to peeps, just generally get my shit together. Because it is very much not together right now. New year though, I can do this 8c
(If anyone wants a refund instead of continuing to wait for me to get my shit together, I more than understand, no hard feelings.)
SO YEAH. I'ma submit some art I've done, I'ma send off some progress, I'm do my best to get my momentum back up.

went to RCFM, had a ballin time all things considered, did a ton of art I still need to post, was without internet forever, went to hang with friends for my impending birthday, been working life a fiend on a suit, just got home
i have a daunting number of notes and things to post
which I will respond to and post, respectively, once I have had some sleep.
My birthday is on the 25th though C: 21st!
but yes expect notes and an upload flood tomorrow or the next day okok thanks!

Posted 14 years agoFirst and foremost I am in a pretty significant amount of physical pain! I don't know how; I was just walking, and gradually, my Achilles' tendon got more and more sore. Long story short it's full on ripped (not separated thank God, just ripped). Which sucks, because lately I've gotten a lot more brash about walking proximal places to get out of my house. But yeah, not to be a baby but it hurts soooo fucking bad. And I can't get a brace or crutches (yes that bad) until Thursday. I mean, this likely won't affect my work output; if anything it helps a little bit that I'm stuck at home. But I'm just letting everyone know my slight physical incapacitation might become relevant a bit!
Plugging away at commissions! Both art and fursuit.
Also, would anyone even WANT to watch me stream? I pretty much never watch others do so, nor have I ever done so myself, but it seems popular and if I would have an audience I very well might.

Thanks to my amigo for posting a message for me to let everyone know why I wasn't replying to notes and shit, after I post this journal I'ma note everyone with progress and shit, cos I'm seriously almost completely caught up on my art comms and it's BLOWING MY MIND A LITTLE.
I likely won't be online too much more tonight though, because I donated plasma yesterday and [tmi]then immediately started my cycle[/tmi], so the combined loss of bodily fluid made me sleep, like, 16 hours. It was a little ridiculous.
And because EVERY JOURNAL I MAKE apparently has to be about two topics at once, after I'm caught up on my current comms, I'll likely be interested in taking art commissions for things I don't have a lot of examples of in my gallery. Frankly, because I'm a little tired of the like-begetting-like nature of commission work, I'd like to draw something that ISN'T tentacles for once xD. No disrespect to my current or past clients who asked for just that! I do enjoy drawing it, I would just LOVE the opportunity to draw other things, too. Especially things that aren't sequences. Again, it's not that I don't enjoy doing them - it's BARELY a secret I totes love sequential art - it's just that, by their nature, they tend to be big projects and some nice one-off pieces would be a nice change of pace.

I'm not home + the thumbnail system seems ineffective

for a few days. So no art or suit updates for a few days, and hell, I'll be pretty lazy about replying to notes to boot, sorry!
Also, my most recent upload made me think about the whole thumbnailing system on FA. It conceals the contents of the submission, unless it's the most recently favorited submission in someone else's gallery or the most recently submitted in one's own. For me, that's beneficial RIGHT NOW cos the Resh pic is giant and the thumbnail doesn't betray that so the halfview is good, but that really seems to defeat the purpose. I'm not a delicate little flower and though I don't like everything I'm not gonna cry if I accidentally see scat or whatever, but still - it seems like they might implement a better filter system. I know, more impotent bitching about FA's systems, it just has a bit of a bearing on me too, cos I DEFINITELY draw questionable works, and I'm fucking sure I've been unwatched before to someone accidentally being subjected to, say, tentacle rape oviposition transformation or whatever. It seems like a person should be able to not see whatever they don't wanna see xD

Questions; how to make transparent icon + WHAT ANIMAL?!

I'm feeling like a complete dumbass here, but I just completed a gentleman's icons, and they're supposed to have a transparent background. Here they are, for reference. http://i.imgur.com/GbKdD.png http://i.imgur.com/aLWOa.png . Now then, apparently FA hates transparent PNGs, and he's unable to upload them without the background going black. And when I try and save them in Photoshop as another format that preserves transparency, the background gets disgustingly grainy. Is a clean transparent BG just impossible with those blotches? Or is there some way for me to pull this off o_o. I'm sorry I should know this crap ;A;
Second question, more fun and open-ended :D, I'm feeling crazy impulsive and creative (my muse is demanding), and I wanna make a fursuit head. Just fucking spit one out in a few days 8D. I just have NO IDEA what species D8

-This will likely be a personal suit at first, and depending on how much it clicks, it will likely be for sale.
-I really only want to make a head but will make the other crap (hands tail etc). Because of this, I'm looking to avoid anything with too big/elaborate peripheries xD (think a skunk's tail or wings or crap like that)
-I haven't made anything really COLORFUL yet, so this will likely be bright. Honestly probably going with a CMYK color scheme.
-I do NOT want to make a dog or cat. But I DO want to make something recognizable to a layperson/child, so no coatimundis or aye-ayes or West African Obscure Ungulates or whatever xD
-Considering going either super cute or semi-realism, mainly just looking to expand my portfolio.

Happy belated various holidays I've been way too preoccupied to acknowledge!
I've been completely tied up in family matters this past month, and then when I thought I was about to buckle down and GET BACK TO IT, I fuckin' catch bronchitis (I think, it was never diagnosed by a doctor? But I got VERY SICK immediately after hanging out with my grandmother for an entire day, who developed almost identical symptoms, went to the doctor, and was diagnosed, so it's a pretty safe bet). So I've pretty much spent the last span of time languishing in bed feebly and eating nothing but corn flakes, Hating Everything
(mom's been sick too, but that's almost a base state : /)
SO YEAH, I'm alive, I've just been consumed by sickness/drama/a suit comm that's very close to being done, which I'll post soon enough c:
I see a daunting amount of notes sitting there in the corner, lookin' at me, but I promise I'll get to those shortly :T I HAVE got some comm progress done, finally, and with any luck should have crap uploaded promptly.

See, I don't utilize the watch feature to start with (please don't take it personally, anyone, I just actually comment/check up on people I care about and getting system updates drives me crazy), so it's just a question of curiosity. Do you do it if that person expresses an unfavorable/unsavory opinion? Art of a subject matter you don't like? How extreme does it have to be? Or is it not-a-big-deal to you, and you just periodically "trim" your watchlist?

This is also asked partially because I - again - have realized that a lot of my artistic frustration is due to the fact I struggle against how I want to draw for most commissions or adult pieces. My natural inclination is very toony, chibi, and silly, with pretty nonmorphic anatomy. Like this or this. Chubby or lanky cute things. But, I dunno, when I get commissioned to draw adult things, it just feels kinda... dirty or "cub" to put genitals on those type of drawings :T. I admit, I'm not categorically opposed to it at all, I'm just afraid of losing watchers or being branded a cub artist or w/e for it. Haters gonna hate, I'm sure, I just have an admittedly fragile ego, but it's REALLY hard for me to try and make my art more anthro and less cute for the sake of it. It just kinda feels weird to make "porn" and "cute" mutually inclusive xD;

Otter suit for sale? + general update

It's been kinda a shitty month for a variety of reasons. But hey, I keep my chin up c: I'm not at home right now, will return next week, and it's back to work! I've got a few suit commissions on deck I'm excited about, so news there.
Unfortunately, due to automotive issues and a hefty car repair bill, I need money. Likebad. I'm NOT wanting to add to my already spurious backlog (unless you're wanting to commission a suit from me? In which case now would be an awesome time to make that life decision), so I'm looking to sell my otter suit, Mayflower.

Only worn to two events! Like new. For sale only because 1. I need money and 2. I don't really have fun when I wear her.
Solid foam head, fleece lined mouth, fleece tongue, plastic eyes and a moving jaw. High quality fur! Should fit up to a 23 inch head (tentatively. I have a 22 1/2" head and it fits me well). I'd say the vision is decent - clear vision but the range is a little limited. Zipper in the back of the head to make putting her on easier.
Please note: she was originally a personal suit, and as such wasn't really built to my "commission standards". Not to say there's anything shoddy about her in the least! Just to say that there are definitely some glued seams on the head that aren't visible or other minor corner-cuts. These shouldn't affect the integrity of the suit in any way, I just want to be up front.
Handpaws are mitt-like with nub fingers to emulate webbed hands. Tail is AMAZING. Honestly I loathe parting with the tail more than the head :I. It's a yard long, curved, foam frame with polyfil stuffing. It sits up off your butt with a cute curl, and has a nice bounce to it. The foam frame really adds an element of life to it c: A tail like this would cost 100$ by itself to commission from me! It, uh, also makes pretty much the best body pillow :T It attaches by means of attached belt (that is, uh, glued on. Again, personal suit, cut corner ^^;)
I'd be willing to make minor aesthetic changes to the head to suit a buyer (eye color, etc). She's moderately androgynous and could easily pass for male. I'd prefer against creating feet - I kind of hate making feet, and I'm really just wanting to ship something out as opposed to creating anything new - but if it's make or break, I could be persuaded.
I'm looking for 300$ plus shipping or thereabouts, but am willing to haggle, and if there's interest, I'll throw her up on an auction site.
