CHECKIT. Literally just started on it the other night, completely unpolished and LOLWEBS, but I think a freewebs site is MARGINALLY more professional than my furaffinity page :I It'll do until I can afford hosting xD. Has my terms on it, too! Gonna be progressing more on it and such.
Speaking of fursuity things, the raffle idea's on hold until I could figure out how to do it without violating Paypal's ToS :C. I want to, but I would also like to keep my Paypal account :I
In other news, I GOT MY PEN IN YAAAY! This tablet is different, and I'm adjusting to it, but my god I'm working on art c:. I'm working like crazy, expect to see things posted on a hopefully regular basis xD.
On a last note; I'ma pitch for myself: You should REALLY COMMISSION ME FOR A FURSUIT HEAD/PARTIAL AND THIS IS WHY.
I could really use the money, and I don't have the capital to just produce a head right now, no matter how bad I want to. There are a MILLION creatures I want to try and make -- a rabbit, a bird, a dragon, a hoofer, a monster, LOTS of things, but I just don't have an opportunity :I. I have only one other head in queue right now, so I could even finish a project in time for Halloween! (luckily, the speed of my fursuit heads are independent of the cooperation of my sewing machine -- heads are all hand-sewn) My prices are literally almost half as much as people with comparable talent/experience, and it's because I want business/practice that bad. I'd also be more than willing to cut a person an "artistic liberty" discount -- that is, the more you let me direct the project, the cheaper it will be! SO YEAH. I got skillz, a really short queue, and a desire for work.

I could use the scratch, and I've been itching to make another head. This seems like a fun way to indulge both of those urges -- I'd get the full sum, and someone would get a fursuit head with a minimum investment!

Posted 15 years agoSo here's the sitch. My tablet's pen broke. For years, I'd used the Wacom Graphire3 (to those not in the know, pretty bottom of the line tablet) my dad bought me when I was 13. It worked for what I needed and stood up to my abuse until just now, when the pen bit the dust. My mouse for the Graphire3 died looong ago, so I pulled out my "back-up tablet" when my pen broke. It was gotten for me because it was SUPER CHEAP, but that was because it didn't have a pen. It DID have a mouse, though, and I needed to navigate.
Sooo I pull it out of storage, finally, for the first time in my life, flipping it over to get the model number so I can download the driver

fuck my life ahh. Just randomly, my pen decides to stop registering as a tablet right. It either thinks I'm CONSTANTLY CLICKING ALWAYS or not. That's it. Won't register my drawing, etc etc etc. Aaaah it's really early I was ABOUT to go to sleep but now I'm just so frustrated fuck. Yeah. Drawing commission progress just got a little wrench thrown in it.

A very old head that's not up to my current standard of work. Mesh and foam, moving jaw, 3-D eyes. Really needs some TLC, but would make a great fixer-upper project for someone wanting to learn the basics of construction or a piece to practice airbrushing on! 75$ for the head. The last shot shows a body suit for it I totally forgot exists, but if you'd like it too, I'd ask 125$ for the head and body together. I don't have exact measurements, but it fits a 5'7" 140lb girl with a 36" chest, 32" waist and 36" hips well, with some slack in the chest. I wouldn't exceed those measurements too greatly though, and if you're actually interested, I can get more precise measurements.
(and if any specific meerkats out there had specifically wanted this noggin in the past, dude I'll make you one up to my current standard of work~)

Simply a project I lost interest in, not to mention I stopped using that method of construction. A dragon head sculpt! Foam and mesh -- but the foamwork is so independent you really could just reattach it to a balaclava if you were so inclined. Again, a VERY small head -- fits my 22 1/2" noggin tightly -- but because it's still in the construction stage, you can change that! The black foam is super-dense. Has a moving jaw. Would be great for someone looking to try head construction to go ahead and have a head to practice furring! 30$

Successfully moved. Been without internet for quite a bit, but my compy's unboxed and working, so here I am! Most of my life is still boxed up and -- IMPORTANT -- I had to leave a few boxes of fursuiting supplies in the b'ham. I AM going to get them, but for the immediate future, working on fursuity stuff is going to be on a what-fur-I-have-with-me basis. Though, this DOES mean I'll be able to get some art done (it's pretty much all I have to do)!
Frankly, I have loooots more unpacking and shit to do, so I'm still really preoccupied in life, so don't expect reliable contact for a week or so while we get our life out of cardboard.
I MIIIGHT go to RCFM. Very might. I have the money, but if I go, it would be to try and make MORE money, so I need to gauge my profit potential vs. everything, you get it.

Posted 15 years agoYeah, I'm an admin clerk for my local census office for a while. Third shift, 11:30pm to 8am. Working and sleeping is literally my entire life right now, sorry, not gonna lie and say I'm working on comms for the time being. I'm waking up around 8, checking the internet and going to work at 11, getting home at 8something, unwinding for a few hours and re-crashing. It's temporary though, and my god I need the money. I'll be back to "normal" in about two weeks.

plus /shallow I know the Guardians of Gahoole movie is coming out this fall and I kinda want this to be established prior to what will surely be an influx of owl characters inspired by it

Went to FWA, had a great time. Kasi and company, Deon, Riff, et et et were all great fun to hang with.
NOW TO MORE PERTINENT MATTERS
I am the least professional person on the face of this planet, and I make one of these "excuse" journals like every few weeks. I'm totally sorry, my personal issues should not be your concern. But my god am I depressed. Like, legitimately. Having to move sooner than anticipated, in a more rushed fashion, and packing is occupying a majority of my time. Other factors are at work I don't necessarily want nor feel necessary to delve into, but sufficient to say, I am not even kind of in a good place right now. I'm legitimately very sorry.
I can't guarantee when I'm going to be "better" or resume a steady work schedule, but I'm striving towards it. We're aiming to move by May 15th or so. Things should settle down past then, at the latest, but I'ma try and regroup my thoughts and finish something over this weekend (especially because I'm a little dead broke). I apologize again, really, this isn't cool of me.
Maybe I'll try and stream at some point I dunno.
Thanks again for the patience and such, I don't really deserve as much as I've been afforded, but it is appreciated regardless.
EDIT: HOLY CHRIST I CAN'T CATCH A BREAK
Like, 20 minutes after posting this, I go to take my dog out. I noticed the carpet is wet ._. I try to find the origin, only to open the garage and DISCOVER IT FLOODED. Holy god. Soo much valuable crap in there. So, of course I scramble for the next few hours to rescue things from the few inches of water (noting, I am the only able-bodied person in the house, and though scrappy, I myself am 140lbs wet, female, and of entirely average build; that is, not even sort of "strong", least not enough to withstand lots of heavy lifting). I've managed to get most everything out of imminent harm's way at this point, mostly instruments (SERIOUSLY DAD WHO NEEDS FIVE CLARINETS AND THREE FLUTES AND adfjsdlgjdflgkj), and my brother is headed over now to help me with the heavy lifting.

I'ma try and keep this brief and not-wangsty, because I'm legitimately not looking for pity, but I'm just trying to explain the situation I'm in in life.
My backstory in life, for the uninitiated:
I had an awesome life with my mom, dad, and brother. That is, until one day in '04, my brother was driving home from school with his fianceè in the rain. A cop mis-signaled him, he hydroplaned into oncoming traffic, his lady didn't survive. My dad then decided to quit his stressful (and well-paying) telecom job with the city to help my brother cope (and because the stress of having to be on-call constantly was deteriorating his health; his job was to repair the 911 systems if they went down). He went without a job for seven months, until one night in June, he had a heart attack in his sleep and died.
My mom never truly coped with the loss of dad, but he was the sole breadwinner, so she went to work immediately, and after about a year, met another man and remarried. They got along very well, and the financial aid was very helpful. Together they refinanced our house and bought a car (he, however, kept the 13k equity from the house to pay back child support). Then, however, my mom awoke one morning unable to move.
She was rushed to the hospital, and long story short, she has degenerative, congenital spinal problems in addition to severe nerve damage. My mother declined, and became unable to work, and is now officially disabled.
Things didn't work out between my mom and the new husband. It ended messily. He took the car and the 13k in equity. We were left carless and penniless.
My brother began working two jobs to support us, and eventually got a car for mom too. However, his income plus mom's disability check is not enough to sustain this house. And my brother (understandably) eventually grew to resent having to give every dime to us. He lost one job, we almost lost the house once. Our financial situation continues to decline. As such, we are having to move. Brother is getting his own apartment. Mom's friend is giving her a house two hours away from here. And I'm going, well, I don't know.
I have no idea where; I have no car or job (and I'm stuck in that annoying limbo where I can't make the money to get a car, and I can't get a job to make money because I have no car).
Plus my mom has grown more and more manic-depressive and, frankly, insane as time has progressed. I might have to live with her for a while. Wee.
TLDR: Dad died, mom remarried dick that took car and 13k from us, mom developed disability and couldn't work, brother lost one of two jobs, decides he needs to start his own life, leaving me to fend for myself with nothing to my name at all.

Things have been back and forth like crazy, back and forth from "hey looks like we're gonna stay" to "OUT BY TOMORROW OMG". But, it's pretty set in stone at this point. And I'm... really reeling from it all. I've never been away from my girlfriend in the four and a half years I've been with her, and my God have I needed her. I just... literally don't know what I'm doing.
Sooo yeah, this is a lot of words. I guess, the relevant points; I am still working on commissions, but I have higher priorities in life now, I'm afraid. Pretty much every commission i have is at least lined, so I AM making progress. I'm just, frankly, pretty depressed and stressed. I'm also still going to make any deadlines for suits..

The short version is that life has seriously sucked for a bit on my end, and in all likelihood is not going to stop doing so in the immediate future. I'm not going to go into the sob story, you don't need to listen to my bawwing, but essentially shit is very fucked up for me. Very. I'm probably about to have to move on very short notice, and I have not a car nor a job nor a steady source of income. My friends have given me an immense amount of support though, and I don't know where I'd be without them. You can't fathom how much I appreciate all you've done.
I'm in a transitional phase right now, and I really don't know where I'm going or what I'm going to do. I know I'm going to be okay, but I'm admittedly pretty scared. C'est la vie though, you know? This'll all work out in the end. It's just going to take a while for me to get my footing.
On that note, commission progress is going to be slow(er than it already normally is). For which I apologize. To be blunt, trying to get a job/packing/figuring out wtf is going on is taking precedent over drawing furries. Though, for any that I have made time obligations for, I'm going to stick to that. Meaning Jackalrem, Poprock and Tenshi, you'll all have your suits by FWA (and Poprock, you'll have yours by Katsucon), don't worry. Jackal, yours is being furred right now, Poprock, yours is being taped up, and Tenshi, I'm making the fur pattern for yours.
I apologize again for all the delays, and I appreciate your understanding and support as I go through all this. Thanks, seriously.

My nose is runny, I'm congested to hell, I'm coughing and sneezing up a storm, my throats hurts, my stomach hurts, yadda yadda generic cold symptoms. On that note, I've realized a few things in this time where I've been kinda off FA. Eheh admittedly I've been spending 90% of that time playing Neopets, so sue me >>;. But, see, that's the thing. Neo is why I started drawing in the first place.
I dunno, I guess I could use lots of words here, but the short and skinny version is that getting back to my roots on NP like this, no matter how silly, made me realize why sometimes I hate drawing. It's because I'm trying to force myself to produce work that I feel I SHOULD be producing, not what I WANT to be drawing, style-wise. I dunno, most people won't even notice the change here, but there very well might be one. A subtle change back towards my toonier, simpler roots. I dunno, just a heads up.
On that note, I don't really have a solid conversion rate, but realize that you VERY WELL may be able to bribe art out of me for things on Neopets ;D. But I'm talking high-ticket crap, like pbs or Draik eggs or the like xD. But if you have something you think I might want, offer it and I'll let ya know how much I'd draw for it.

It was a freak accident, but the short and skinny is that one of my dogs died last Saturday. He slipped out the door. This normally isn't an issue; we live in a quiet suburb with absolutely minimal traffic, and he had a good recall, but as it turns out there was a roving stray this night. 80 lb stray corners her 20 lbs. of Finnish Spitz and fights him, and he's rushed to the emergency vet, and held on through the night but not through the next day. God I'ma miss my little buddy, fuck it was sudden.
*sigh* Regardless, I have OBLIGATIONS. Here's my current queue or so I do believe. If I forgot you, it probably means I just forgot to write you, just poke me.

Yeah, internet's finally returned, thank God. Ugh, sooo much shit to catch up on -_-. Soso sorry for all the delays, sometimes things just happen beyond my control, yaknow?
It's gonna take me a couple days to get back on my internet-feet, per se, but I'll get there. Just please be patient a few more days, guys ^^;. I found out some less-than-great health news yesterday, is all, and I'm dealin' with that a little, but I've got some commissions done and lots of progress and general holy crap catching up to do.
Thanks so much everyone for all of your patience. My life isn't really stable right now, and the patience you've already given me is exceptional.

I don't even know what the hell but my desktop totally isn't working. I'm too frustrated to fuck with it. But yeah, which makes it TERRIBLE because I've got commissions to do! AND I CAN'T ACCESS THEM HNNG. Posting from my laptop (which is old, has a faulty battery, and a broken power cord, so if I move it wrong it turns off :|). So sorry, commissioners. I'll let you know as soon as my computer wants to cooperate again.
(makes it super-more frustrating that I haven't been able to get out of the house to ship things :c.)
But yeah. I'm dead broke and can't do the whole digital art thing, for obvious reasons.
SO I AM OFFERING 5$ COLORED SKETCHES
yeah, I need scratch that bad.
Note: I won't be able to post them for a few days, but can scan things for me SO YEAH, unfortunately they'll be a little sight unseen for a couple days.

I don't really wanna get into the nitty-gritty, but I keep pet chickens. They're fun, they're smart, they're cute, you know WHATEVS you should also keep chooks yo. I had a flock of 15 birds, mixed breeds and purposes.
The other night while I was asleep, someone both 1) let my husky out, who is bird-aggressive and 2) opened the gate to the chook pen. Reading that, it seems malicious, but it most likely was some really fucked-up coincidence involving alcohol.
The next morning, I look out to see dead birds and an open gate. I'll spare you the details, it wasn't pretty. At all. Five were dead in the immediate vicinity of the pen, and I saw feathers like fucking everywhere that didn't give me a lot of hope for the others.
But, seeing as I had fifteen birds, there were quite a few MIA, so I started searching my yard. Two more were found dead close by. But, after about fifteen minutes of searching, I heard a cackle, and saw my favorite little barred rooster hiding in a bush. Never been happier to see a roo in my life. Gathered him up, completely unscathed.
I searched for a couple hours, I got clawed to hell by briars, and my goddamn pretty little hen WOULD NOT COOPERATE and made me chase her for twenty minutes before I could catch her, but when it was all said and done, seven of my birds survived. Four barred roosters, two silkies, and my easter egger hen. One roo was in bad shape -- real shocky, wouldn't open his eyes -- and one silkie had some bad swelling.
Both have recovered quite a bit; Mr. Roo's walking around, opening his eyes, but I think he's blind in at least one, as it's cloudy, and the silkie's swelling has gone down a lot.
That all happened a couple days ago, but JUST NOW, I peek out the window to see an EIGHT ROOSTER trying to get in to the pen! Wow. Eight made it.
It was pretty goddamn traumatic, I have way WAY too many roos now, and all that, but overall I'm so happy the eight that made it did.
