Moving over
Posted 16 years agoHey all!
Sorry for a lot of my watchers that I just just started to watch, along with the watchers and friends that I've had for a while now, but I'm going to be changing accounts. I have a few reasons for this, one being the rather outdated Screenname I have, if you really want to know, just ask me, I won't be listing reasons here.
I'll be re-adding all my watched people to my new account within the next few hours, so I hope I'll be seeing you all there ^^

Posted 16 years agoReally? I didn't notice XD
Hey everyone, seems like Christmas is here. Just a little update on things while I'm here. Firstly, vacations have been pretty good, had an awesome time with friends for a good week or so. We didn't really go out to do outrageous things or whatnots, but it was nice to kick back and just enjoy unplanned 'do what you want' time. XD
I've since gone to my parents' place, which they had no idea of my coming. They were out for the evening, so I unlocked the door, snuck in, and just watched TV while waiting for them to get home, I swear my mother nearly had a heart-attack seeing me there XD
Now, my parents are moving in a few days, so Christmas this year has been rather weird in terms of tradition. Half of the house is already boxed up and either waiting to be sent, or already brought over there. My last two days (Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day) have been spent renovating their new home; electrical fixtures, taping, painting, taking doors down, sandblasting the walls prior to painting, etc. The only Christmassy thing that happened was a small, 2-3 hour dinner at my sister's in-laws. XD No tree, no feast, nothing on my end.
All in all though, it's been a good time. I was expecting Christmas to not feel like Christmas this year. Funnily enough, I'm not bothered by this, I understand why things are not as they usually are, and I did enjoy working on the new house. My arms are killing me now though, so I'm gonna relax for the evening. XP
Can't wait til the 28th, so I can go back home to a special pika I've been missing for over a week <3
Hope everyone had an amazing time! Merry Christmas or any other traditions you celebrate in this time of year. <3
Skyler out.

Hey there's snow here too!
Posted 16 years agoHeya all!
Just going along and giving a little update on what's on the go. I'm currently in the outskirts of Sherbrooke, Quebec, in a little place called St-Elie-D'Orford. Vacation has been rather nice and swell up to now, and I can't wait to get paid in 2 days so I can do more stuff. XD
The trip itself took a bit out of me, but that's somewhat my fault for being up at midnight to get the plane at 6am, and travel for 8 hours using 2 plane flights and 2 bus rides, haha. I've been chilling out since at my friend's place, taking it real easy and just doing whatever I want, which, you know, is the same as home really, but at least I don't have to go to work! <3
Nerd alert~:
I finally tried Super Mario Bros Wii, and it's rather enjoyable. I do find the gameplay physics to be a bit oddlike compared to the old retro games I'm terribly fond of, haha. Though I do admit, ganging up three on one to kill our friend constantly made it fun for hours on end XD
Also, I swear I'll finish Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle someday, I brought it over seeing as I knew I'd have time to play, and knew one of my buds would like the gamestyle and all. I finally started to conquer places and actually do well, until Hojo and Takeda decided that I should game over <.<; Silly Uesugi not helping me (his ally) out but asking me to help him out all the time.
End alert~:
Okay, still just going with the flow of things, I haven't made one clear, set in stone plan since I've arrived, and I like it. Enjoying my time, and I hope you all are too! =3
Yosh out.

Vacation commences!
Posted 16 years agoWell well, the yosh on vacation? After working so darn much, I can say I clearly deserve it <3
I'll be leaving 'the rock' (Yes that's what we call the island part of Newfoundland here) Monday morning to head back to the motherland (Or Quebec, if you prefer XD). I'll be flying for a bit, heading out into Montreal where I'll be stopping for an hour or so at the bus depot, then I'll be riding over to my old college city of Sherbrooke for a good week or so, it'll feel so nice to see old buds I haven't seen in over 2 years. <3
After that, I'll be either be driven or take another bus up towards Trois-Rivières, my hometown, to see my family for Christmas. Funnily enough, it'll be an interesting Christmas, seeing as they're moving on the 28th, and they'll be in boxes over their heads. Awesome thing is that they have no idea I'm coming, so it'll be like an awesome Christmas gift to them I take it =3
I'll be heading back home on the 29th, so my internet presence may be reduced to coming online only to check up on messages/FA/email, so don't be afraid to drop a line or anything, I'll try to get back to you! ^^
Anyway, if I don't see anyone, Merry Christmas FA, have a great one!

10 statement meme thing going around~
Posted 16 years agoMight as well do it too, I'm sure at least one person wants me to reply to them XD
1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you which song or movie you remind me of.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something I've always wondered about you.
8. I'll tell you my favorite thing about you.
9. I'll tell you something you need to work on.
10. If you play, you MUST post this on yours. (Honestly, do what you will, I don't care if you do or not XD)

Final boss meme?
Posted 16 years agoAlright, I caved in to a journal like this, haha, but hey, this one I find actually interesting, so I'll give it a shot.
Alright, you're a final boss.
A) What is your pre-battle speech?
"As agreed, we're to settle this right here in this plain, away from innocent folk. Tell me, is what I'm undertaking really that wrong? Power leads to corruption, and no one can be spared. People fight, people intimidate, people blackmail, it will never end until I've disposed of them all. Yes, I myself am a part of this problem, knowing my power, yet, if I use my strength to take them all down, giving each and every person equality, then I at the very least appease the problem. Isn't that something one should rejoice about?
Very well, you leave me no choice."
--
B) Where does the battle take place?
In a plain away from civilization, the party challenging Skyler, and the latter not wanting to fight near civilians and innocent folk.
--
C) What is the battle theme song (links preferably)?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQ063-r3r20 (Lufia 2 - Battle 3 - Sinistral Boss Theme ... I recommend the game to anyone who hasn't played, still one of my favourite SNES games.)
--
Bonus parts!
D) Winning and losing quotes
Phase one win:
"This is the end of your rebellion, I am sorry it had to come to this. In a perfect world, there would have been no need of violence like this, but now, I must dispose of you.. ..you have fought well."
Phase one defeat:
Gurk..! I.. I cannot be defeated yet, so many people to save.. so many people counting on me..!!
*the yoshi gives off a blinding light for a few seconds, becoming a dragon with the same colouring and features, although instead of wielding kunais, he now weilds a pure white lance.*
"I cannot lose, no.. I will fight with every ounce of strength I hold, for everyone!"
Phase two win:
"You have brought me to bring out my whole strength. You have fought valiantly.. but in the end, I win. May you find peace knowing you gave it your all."
Phase two defeat:
"N..No! I.. even with everything I could do, I still wasn't enough. For me to lose here.. our ambition.. lost.."
*grunts a little as he slowly falls over to the ground*
--
E)How did it come to this?
Skyler has been leading a group in taking down people of power, no matter if they were good or bad, all for the sake of "liberation". Using his own strength and that of his fellow associates, they would hit cities and villages alike, always targeting people or groups whom held great status thanks to their abilities. Their view on things is that if someone had great power, by nature, they would end up abusing it. Seeing this again and again, the group became more and more adamant in "purging" the area of these people, one area after another.

I can't believe some people
Posted 16 years agoHey all, Skyler here.
It's been a while, so here's a gist of things. I saw my family for a while, and my nephew for the first time, it was rather nice, had a good time and all, though shortlived with work. I was glad for it though.
Chu and I had Haya over, and it was swell, had my vacation at the same time also, which was a double bonus, 2 weeks and 4 days off. We bought a king sized bed, a large bed for a large yoshi Chu says, it's sorta appealing to hear, haha.
Although, must of what I want to do is talk and vent just a little. Y'see, we're in a hunt for an appartment to live at right now, seeing as Chu got transfered workplace halfway across the city, and I have a car, so if we went there it'd be easier and all, plus a bonus of having our own place is nice also. Hard part is finding a place that accepts pets, but that's not the part that irks me.
Chu found this place that looked interesting, and details were panned out to make things work out, there seems to be one issue though: We're two guys in a relationship. The moment Chu mentionned the place would be for he and his boyfriend, the landlord said to the effect that 'it wouldn't work out.'
I mean, I know a landlord has a say in who rents his pads, but isn't that a little discriminant? It's sorta sad if you ask me, and I may sound like I'm just being whiney about it, but geez, I'd never think I'd be turned down by something as essential as a living area because of my sexual preferences. Life goes on sure, but pardon my language, but, What the hell?

Sunday June 28th
Posted 16 years agoIt's a Skyler again. I figure I might as well do a journal a week or something to recap all that's been going on, so that's 52 times you get to hear from this light blue yosh. Too much, too little, too bad! =P This one won't be too too long, seeing as this is the first one and I made a journal 3 days back as is.
Well, today can sorta be considered a day off, seeing as I only work from 7pm-11pm tonight, so I decided to try to fix up my playlist/reorganize files/sync iPod. Not really all that glorious, but I've wanted to get this done for a while now.
On a more gloomy news, my car went in for repairs on Wednesday, I paid a good 1700 bucks to get it up a running again. All that was left to do on it was the handbrake, seeing as it was seizing. The garage told me this, I knew of it, agreed that I'd need more time to rack up some buck so I could get that fixed, best kind, ya know? Evidently, seeing as absent-minded as I am, I parked the car later that day, and for a split second, pulled it halfway up, and slammed it back down. I tested for locked wheels, everything seemed fine. I later went downtown with it only to find my rear left wheel smoking, this being about 5 hours after leaving the garage. Long story short, it's back there, and I'm waiting on the verdict to see if I busted the brand new brakes and all, getting that handbrake fixed too, so my wallet's crying *chuckles*. Car should be ready tomorrow, and it's my only day off, so it should be alright. A setback for sure, but I got over it.
In lighter news, I'm in a slightly cooking mood this week, more than usual. I'll probably whip up something nice and tasty sometime this week when I can, and hopefully take a few pictures for the heck of it, the chef's gotta start somewhere! XD

Must end lurker status
Posted 16 years agoIt's been well over a year now that I haven't updated this thing, and I reckon I should attempt to do so and start getting involved in the community again rather than just lurk and hide in the background.
A full year, it's been a while. As life always is, it was filled with ups and down along the way, so I'll focus on the good side of things with this comeback journal (hoping it's a comeback and I don't just get lazy or whatnots.)
Firstly, being safely living with Chu, my pika
Lorethian whom has been quite the awesome mate to me. We of course have our little ups and downs at one another, but those are quickly dispelled within a few hours. We've been going strong for just over 18 months now (that milestone was on June 20th.) and I don't see it changing anytime soon, I love ya hun.
In other news, one thing that made me iffy about the move was the fact that I was technically leaving the friends I had made back home, and having to start near anew, all I had the knowledge of here in Newfoundland was acquaintances through Chu, which seemed nice, and I'm happy to say I'm glad I met them all. They're a swell bunch and I'm rather thankful for knowing them off the bat compared to moving here cold turkey. Thanks guys.
In a past journal, I spoke of losing my work by doing the most humaine thing possible, which my work frowned upon. Upon a month into moving here, I got hired by the same company, pretty much starting clean slate. It's oh so much better here than it was back home, everyone's just enjoyable and laid back, and we still get the job done, compared to the pressing, omgness that was back home. Some co-workers even ask me over to parties and whatnot, which is a big change from back home also, where I'd normally be the slight outcast (intentional or not, I don't know, I didn't really mind it though).
Speaking of which, people on the rock (what some call Newfoundland, it being a large island) here are so darn friendly it was scary at first. People here, total strangers, greet you as you walk on the street, ask how your day is as you pass, generally friendly type. It mind-boggled me at first, coming from a place where if someone asked you that on the street, it was probably for wanting some free smokes, or the like. Mind you, it was still a nice place back home, but there's a great sense of people here being so friendly and laid-back, it makes me feel like I fit in easily.
Going back to the job aspect of this journal, back home, I spent 17 months working there, staying at the bottom of the ladder and constantly being told I wasn't good enough to go up, due to attitude problems (For people that know me, yes, I know you're laughing too, attitude problems.. XP). Only 4 months after starting to work here, there was whispers of my promotion, and a month later, presto. What I tried to get in 17 months back home came to me here in so little time, the work atmosphere is usually great (Everywhere will have its off times) and I really enjoy it.
There's of course a few things I direly miss being here, and it does creep into my mind a bit from time to time, I left some close friends in coming here, some of which I'd do anything for. They miss me back also, which gives me a mixed feeling of happiness knowing they care that much, and irkness knowing I'm too far to visit *chuckles*. Another thing that's maybe one of my biggest missed items in my life, and don't you all start laughing now, is a real Quebec style poutine. I don't care what people think, poutine anywhere else I tried just does not cut it at all, call me gastronomically biased, but yeah. I went home for 6 days over Christmas, and the first thing I did was to go in a restaurant and order a jumbo poutine, and when I received it, took a picture of it with my cellphone (Sad? You decide XP). And it was delish.. oh so delish.
Fast forwarding along, a few things I'm looking forward to. My folks bought an RV last month, and are coming up here to visit. The only downside to that is that they'll only be able to stay for 2 days. Even so, I can't wait to see them again, especially the new member of the family. My sister and her husband brought forth a new baby boy into the family, making me Uncle Sky for the first time in my life. I never met the tyke other than pictures, he's about 3 months old now, and I can't wait.
Another thing I'm looking forward to is that
Hayatoru will be visiting at the end of the month for a good 3 weeks if my memory serves me right (Chu would know more than I.) He's always been a sweetheart to me and I'll be honoured to meet him face to face for the first time. I do wish his trip here goes well.
I really should stop for the time being, like I said, there's been some down times in the last year, but I don't wanna focus them all on here right at the moment. All that really matters is; Hey, I'm alive, I'm alright, and I'm back. XP

I do wish his trip here goes well.I really should stop for the time being, like I said, there's been some down times in the last year, but I don't wanna focus them all on here right at the moment. All that really matters is; Hey, I'm alive, I'm alright, and I'm back. XP
It's finally time
Posted 17 years agoWell, I'll keep this short since I'm slightly behind schedual ^^;
It's now time, I got what I could done, spent nearly a week filling out paperwork, and now, I'm off to live with the guy of my dreams. I have about 36 hours as of right now to drive 20 hours, seeing as a friend forgot his DS in my car, and I have to make a 2 hour detour to bring it back.
Ferry that's crossing me over to Newfoundland's schedualled for 11am on Tuesday the 1st, and then I set sail for about 8 hours. Touching down there, I have about 9 hours of driving to do more before I reach my destination.
It'll be hell at times I'm sure, but I'll miss ya all when I'm on the road. You all take care, and see you all when I log back on. ^^
(Copy+paste, I know, sue me XP)

By month's end.
Posted 17 years agoWell kiddos, it's finally done and official.
There's been a lot going on in my life lately, still riding that rollercoaster and wishing to see its end. Should be soon though, cause come the end of the month, I'll be moving once more.
Firstly, I moved back to my folks place after losing my job thanks to doing the humaine thing to do, which didn't concur with what the job felt was the best thing to do. After some verbal agreement, I was out of that job by the end of that month, which was December. Now don't get me wrong, I have no hate towards my folks and I do love them a lot, but with the treatment I got since I arrived here, especially on my father's part, isn't all that great. I can see how you can ask your child to pay up rent, yes, that I can understand that, but not even giving him time to get back on his feet, and making him pay more than half of his own rent per month just mind-boggles me. It's slowly me down and only increased my debts at first because of it.
Secondly, I found a job maybe a month after moving in, working in a survey calling center. I'd call people up and ask if they wanted to do surveys over the phone. It's an alright job if you don't care about being hung up or blasted at for no reason whatsoever. I'm fine with that, heck, to quote myself talking to someone online, "I work at a computer with a headset on and people yell at me for no reason, it's like being at home with quite a few people I know online doing the same thing to me for their problems! X3". So yeah, it felt like home, haha, but a workplace that paid 11 bucks an hour, and allowed me to play on my DS while waiting for calls, where else would I have that luxury? The thing is, I was hire to be full time, near 30 hours a week, which was swell, but in the whole month of February, I've been on standby, waiting, only working 8 days in the whole month. The job didn't give me a sense of security or that things were getting better.
Thirdly, well, obviously, I miss my mate. Any of you that feel jealous about that, well, I'm sorry, but I have to be selfish at some point, and pursue my own happiness for once.
So what's to come? Well, firstly, my lovely pika mate and I were talking about what the situation was and how it didn't seem to be doing any good whatsoever at the present time. We've both decided that I should attempt to move out again, and move in with him, which I thoroughly agree. He's been such a sweetheart to me, investing a lot of his own money to help me pay my father off, so I wouldn't be bound to staying there to pay my father back, while seeing as work's been slow and not calling again, I went over there Thursday, and gave my 2 weeks notice that I was leaving due to moving away to another part of the country.
Now then, by month's end, I'll be on a near 32 hour road trip, driving with my essentials, no furniture, only what I need, planning to go up to Newfoundland. Just me, my car, and my want... maybe a few dozen coffee cups. My biggest fear is that my car won't make it, and I'd end up stranded in the middle of nowhere with near no funds. I'm having my car checked up by a friend of mine that does know what he's doing, so that's nice, but a mechnical problem could spring up at any time. I've been rather lucky in the past with my road trips, the only time I did break down was a mile from Garral's place, with my old Honda.
Bar all the emotional and rollercoastish moods I'm getting from either events, or some just shooting my mood, that's mostly all there is to it in my life right now. I'm just at this point pooling all I can into chasing my own happiness, and that's with him.
Yes, I know, mostly a copy+paste from elsewhere, but people that watch me only here deserve to know just as much, hehe.

Unexpected leave from a friend.
Posted 19 years agoHey all,
I received a call today from Gar (username Gar-Yulong), and he said his internet connection was cut as of now. A won't go into details about this, but the bottom line is that he won't have internet access for a while to come. He may, though, have dial-up soon again, or at least he shall attempt to get it, so his leave could be cut smaller than anticipated. He asked of me to notify you guys, and well, that's what I'm doing. Please do not overworry or anything, I know both he and I wouldn't want that. He does send his regards to everyone, and hopes to be back soon.
Take care everyone.
