Why I am a Dragon or Malamute
Posted 13 years agoI was asked why I chose the two characters I have:
I have always loved fluffy things and when I was a kid I had some but in elementary school I became crazy allergic to all animals that are furry. So much so that I can't be around them for more than a few mins before I have a serious allergic reaction that lasts days or a week. My mom had to get rid of the animals we had and steam clean everything because I literally could not breath any more and Dr said it was me or the animals after trying the strongest RX allergy available and an epi pen. I still to this day can't go in friends houses that have animals unfortunately. So that's when I got really into dragons (the real looking dino big reptile ones not Chinese) and created the dragon character because I didn't feel much of a connection to mammals with how my body reacted to them. I thought about a dinosaur but I really wanted one I could customize however I wanted it to be not how scientists think (at the time) they may have looked and then suddenly change that randomly (raptor).
Later on in second life I created a Malamute and then kinda sorta got my dog side out a bit. I still mainly only feel the connection to a dragon as a character but if I eventually want a Fursuit I need something fluffy as most dragon and dino suits I have seen look ... Not so good.
Anywho that answers why I have a dragon and a dog character. Hope that answers the TMI Tuesday question.

Origins of Valentines day revealed
Posted 14 years agoHow did we get valentines day from this? haha
Source NPR (national public radio): From Feb. 13 to 15, the Romans celebrated the fertility feast of Lupercalia. The men sacrificed a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides of the animals they had just slain.
The "Roman "romantics" were drunk and naked," says Noel Lenski, a historian at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Young women would actually line up for the men to hit them, Lenski says. They believed this would make them fertile.
The brutal fete included a matchmaking lottery, in which young men drew the names of women from a jar. The couple would then be um.... "coupled" up for the duration of the festival – or longer, if the match was right.
The ancient Romans may also be responsible for the name of our modern day of love. Emperor Claudius II executed two men — both named Valentine — on Feb. 14 of different years in the 3rd century A.D. Their martyrdom was honored by the Catholic Church with the celebration of the first St. Valentine's Day.

My Shindaiwa played an april fools on me :(
Posted 15 years agoOk well I have a shindaiwa huge trimmer http://www.shindaiwa.com/sng/en/pro.....rims/ah230.php and it sucked the air filter clean into the engine... Never in my life had this happen. It stalled the moment this happened and had a horrible burning smell. I pulled it apart to find a clean carb and the entire 2 or 3 in air filter had been chewed up and partially melted to the inside of the engine. The lower end had bits and chunks of filter all over and the upper end had melted air filter all over. I spent 2 or 3 hours taking it completely apart then cleaning every bit of it. I then put it back together and put some oil in it to hopefully not fry the bearings when I started it again. The good news is that it runs again... the bad news is that it smokes and does not sound good... I may soak it in P&B to see if that will fix everything.
I only found two .5inch chunks of air filter that was not melted or turned into bits. UGH why is everything breaking on me?

It looks like this but is all that golden brown color and is not glass but a resin I think http://stainedglassbymarjorie.com/i...../harlequin.jpg
