Hey everyone I'm going to be at AnthrOhio 2024! The con will be taking place in Columbus, Ohio from May 24-26. I will be there for all 3 days. Sadly I'm not doing the artist alley nor selling anything; but please if you are also going don't be scared to say hi or give me big hug.

I'm not a good artist. I will never be in a museum. Nobody will ever hang a drawing of mine on there walls. The most amount likes I've gotten on drawing its like 30. My characters look flats, uninteresting, and have little to no backstory. My coloring is awful and everybody know it; yet I will still stay up till 4am just to finish a drawing. Look at my own hands, legs, and arms just to make sure the anatomy is on point. End up collecting mountains of references, guide books, and sketch pads just to keep sparking new ideas. The internet and capitalism tend to make me and other low skill creatives feel functional worthless.

Know this all art is worthy. Good art, Bad art, Fan art, art you made when you where sick in bed, or just for fun in class. Art should never be this endless quest for likes, shares, retweets, or whatever is stopping you or I from just being creative. Drawing whatever we feel like and not having a giving a damn about whether it will do numbers on social media

The depression demon is hunting my headspace right now and I need to know what you guys truly think of my art. Do you think it comes off as to safe at time? This was originally a replay to another user on Tumblr, but I want to expand on what I'm feeling in more detail.

I live in mother fucking Indiana. The home state and birthplace of the modern KKK. I even saw them and the proud boys walk down my streets many times while living here. A State that has been Red for as long as I remember living in it, but I still take my black ass to the polls. Just to even try to push back a little bit. I know my vote is going into the black hole that is Indiana politics, but that vote is still better than doing nothing, than giving up and giving into a doomer cycle and letting the cops and fascists control my fate. Indianapolis is the only blue part of my state and that gives me hope (maybe even a foolish hope) that things can get a bit better.

I always feel like shit when I have to canceled a commission. Have it be from stress or just me not jelling with the request its self. I feel like a asshole for getting a requesters hopes up that there artwork will get done. Then they get dm from saying me that " I just cant do it".
