BLFC Report (Wall of Text Crits)
General | Posted 12 years agoWednesday night - I headed down to Orem to pick up the first person I was taking and spent the night.
Thursday - Made the drive to Reno, had dinner, picked up my badge and did general hanging out.
Friday - Woke up, just set up in the art show, and got breakfast before opening ceremonies. After opening ceremonies I went to give my panel and attempt to teach people how not to fail at conventions. I think I did an okay job, but not the best. After my panel I walked around the dealer’s den and chatted for a bit before heading up to get in suit. After being in suit for just a little while and doing some wandering around again and playing some blackjack I was dragged off to the room for...stuff...I then hung out in the room for a bit before going down and playing some penny slots and losing $10 and had food. It wasn’t long before I ended back up in the room for a shower before the party where I did a bit more...stuff...with the person who dragged me off before. After the party some of us went and got food before bed.
Saturday - I played some video poker in the morning while waiting for people to get breakfast with and we got that at Mcdonalds in the nearby Walmart. After that I did some more video poker eventually being out another $10. After that I got my suit one and mostly sat at the blackjack table in the con space for most of the day with a break for the parade. At about 6:30 I went to get out of suit and take a shower before dinner when I got a text that I can grab the stuff that didn’t sell in the art show, so I finished my shower and headed down to do that. Only 6 items didn’t sell, so that was good. Then I went to a formal type dinner with a bunch of furs and it was really good. After dinner I went to change my clothes and ended up sitting in the room in my underwear for a while before putting on some clothes and checking out the dance for a couple minutes. After that I headed back to the room and started getting packed up...which involved getting naked so I could pack the last of the dirty clothes I was wearing that day. Then I hung out for a bit before bed.
Sunday - I got up and did the last of my packing then we packed up the car and checked out. Then we got breakfast while waiting for people to wake up so we could say goodbye to them. After saying some goodbyes we drove off through some high cross winds through Nevada, it was a rather sad day.
This convention was amazing and I’m totally planning to head back next year, I’ll probably fly though so I don’t have to worry about driving in the high winds again. If you couldn’t make it this year do everything you can to go next year.
Since this was a first year con I want to talk about the actual location and some of the stuff that they do differently.
Rooms - There were 2 room types available, the major differences are that the more expensive rooms have a refrigerator and a microwave. They also have a wall mounted flat screen TV instead of an old CRT which allows more table space. The bathroom is mostly the same as far as I know except that it has a large shower instead of a tub. I personally liked the refrigerator, microwave, and extra table space so I think the extra $40/night was worth it. Plus, with a refrigerator and microwave you can leftovers from your meals and have them a second time.
Food - I didn’t eat at every restaurant so I’ll only talk about the places I did try.
Cafe Sierra - This is the place I ate the most at 3 times over the weekend, dinner, late night snack, and breakfast. Everything I ate here was really good, the only thing I found odd was that the meatball included with the macaroni and cheese had tomato sauce on it and it was a weird combination.
Johnny Rockets - This is a standard Johnny Rockets, not bad burgers, delicious shakes, and now the originator of the fat dragon agenda when they gave me a free shake.
Port O’ Subs - A simple sandwich shop. I went here for breakfast before opening ceremonies. It was good, but the place stayed rather busy the whole con, expect a wait if you want one of their sandwiches.
McDonalds - You won’t find this one on any of the maps, it’s in the Walmart across the street across the parking lot, it’s your standard McDonalds.
Rim - This is the somewhat more upscale Asian Fusion restaurant at the resort. The food was really good. I ordered some Kung Pao Chicken and, while expecting some spice(Being from Utah I never expect much because everyone here seems to fear it) I wasn’t expecting the level I got which was a good level. It was rather nice to have food that wasn’t afraid to be spicy. They also have an all you can eat sushi offer, but you have to sit at the sushi bar to get it and it only seats about 12. Waits can be well over an hour so if you want to get in for a regular meal make a reservation, if you want the all you can eat, make an early or late lunch of eat to help the wait time.
Convention Space - They’re trying to do something different by having as much of the convention space as open as possible. What this means is that the main stage, dealer’s den, art show, and a lot of hang out space is all in one space. The idea behind it is to get everyone together in the same room socializing and to allow the dealers to experience more of the con than they otherwise would. I think this worked really well and hope they continue the methodology for as long as they can.
Art Show - Normally I don’t think this would be worth bringing up, but this one was different so it needs some mention. First off, I think a lot of artists were scared off because of the style of auction, but now that some of us have experienced it first hand, I think it should be viewed differently. The way it’s done is blind bidding, in other words you can’t see what other people bid. The reason artists should like this is that it encourages people to bid the most they’re willing to pay for an item up front. For instance one of my tails went for $200, the highest bid I received in a voice auction was $150 at FC this year, so this is really good. The system is good for buyers too in that they set their max price and then don’t have to babysit the auction to make sure they win the item. I don’t think I’d want every convention to switch to this model, but some variety is always nice. Maybe they can start offering a choice to the artist in how they want to run it themselves.
Everything else was pretty much your standard furry convention, good friends, new friends, good hugs and an all around good time. This is also the only con that’s really had me staying out until 2-3 in the morning, so there's that.

General | Posted 13 years agoSo yeah, plans for attending it this year are starting to form. They're still very tenuous based on costs, but it should be quite doable.
***UPDATE***
And just like that they're set...that was...odd.

FC Report
General | Posted 13 years agoWednesday:
I met up with the people I was riding with and we drove to San Jose. It was a long drive, but mostly uneventful. I did get to try Popeye's chicken for the first time though, it was good.
Thursday:
Not much was going on Thursday so we pretty much had time to do whatever. I started the day by going to breakfast with my room mates at Peggy Sue's. It was standard breakfast of bacon and eggs and was really nicely priced, a good place over all. After waiting around a bit
Roochi. another room mate, and myself went to The Tech museum across the street. There were some kids on a field trip there so it was a little crowded, but it was a fun and interesting stop. A little before 2:00 PM we headed back to the hotel to go through registration. I was a sponsor so I was in the short line which moved rather quickly. After getting my badge
Roochi and I went back to the room to get in fursuit and entertain the people still waiting. That was a lot of fun and I fireballed a lot of people while
Roochi leid everyone.
After a bit we got out of suit and headed to dinner with the other room mates. We went to a small Chinese place not far that is a lot like Panda Express. As we got closer we worried that they weren't open because there was police tape around the front, Fortunately they had the door accessible so they could run their business. They lady behind the counter told us that someone had been stabbed right outside which is why there was the police tape.
After dinner we went back to the hotel and my room mates went out to do stuff and I just hung out for awhile before heading to bed.
Friday:
I woke up before my room mates and headed back to Peggy Sue's for breakfast again. After that I went back to the hotel and got ready to set up my panel in the art show, I had 17 pieces to put in. Once that was all done the dealer's den was about to open so I headed over there. I picked up my Sponsor stuff and the badge I preordered from
Idess, I love it, it will be perfect for my tundra wolf fursuit. I then caught the tail end of the dragon panel. I went through the rest of the art show and picked up a bidder number even though I wasn't going to bid until later and caught the tail end of the Meet the GoH panel.
After that I went and got into suit again and saw Uncle Kage when I got back into the convention center talking to people and I just had to fireball him. Apparently he really loves fireballs so I'm going to have to play with that at some point. I then went and had my picture taken and hung around a bit before heading back to the room to reload on fireballs before the 2 and Kage show.
After that I returned to my room and got out of suit and went with the Fur What It's Worth guys to dinner at House of Siam. This was my first time with Thai food so I played it a bit safe and got the honey chicken, and it was delicious. Apparently I crashed their card reader when I went to pay, it took a long time for them to reboot it and everyone was getting antsy to leave, but we eventually got out of there so they could go do their live show. I had intended to attend the live show, but when I found out that the Adult Dragon Panel was scheduled for the same time I rethought my decision, so I went to the ADP which was awesome. So yeah, if you like the more sensual side of us scales, you should definitely go to that. After that I just went to bed, it was late.
Saturday:
I slept in...that's what happens when I'm in bed late. We went to another person's room for breakfast, they were making waffles. They were good. Then since it was coming up on time for the parade we went and got into fursuit for that. I joined a bunch of dragons for the parade and we all walked together. I was actually behind the same blue dragon that I was behind at RMFC, but I didn't spend the whole time walking on his tail this time so that's good. Once the parade ended we had the giant photoshoot, I'm somewhere in the front towards the left side if you can get enough detail to tell everyone apart. After that was the Made Fur You photoshoot, There were a lot of us, I think the count was 24. Then I went down to do the fursuit badge, They need more organization for that, I had no idea where to go or who to talk to and the set up for taking the pictures couldn't be worse. Needless to say, my badge didn't come out very well.
After that I got out of suit and some of us went to Hydration for dinner, it wasn't bad, but there are better places. After that I went to the art show to do some bidding and watch everything close, I had a tail go to voice auction so that was exciting. I ended up back in the room for the rest of the night with my purchases from the dealer's den. Some stuff started to happen a couple of times, but it stopped.
Sunday:
I woke up and some of us went to Psycho Donuts. It was a bit later so they were out of a lot already, but we then went to Pita Pit because they have breakfast stuff too. We got back and eventually made it to the adult art auction. I almost bid on a piece by
Rukis that was wonderfully framed, but I didn't because I have nowhere to put it. It would have been a steal at $125 too. After that I got in suit and ended up at the general art auction to see how my tail would do. It got up to $155, it was really exciting.
Sometime after that I got out of suit and found myself on my own so I went to pick up my stuff from the auction, I won 2 pieces myself. Then I ran across the street to Subway and took it back to the room to eat. I caught the end of the Baltimore game, but that wasn't a big deal for me because I don't really follow football, it was noise.
I got back in suit and headed down to FC:U. I got there right as it was starting and ended up going in and out throughout the show. After that I hung around the convention space for awhile before finally getting a badge for fireballing people before heading back to my room to get out of suit and ending up asleep again.
Monday:
We got up and went to Peggy Sue's for breakfast again, still good and still cheap. We hung around for awhile and it was kinda bittersweet because almost everyone was getting ready to go home. We made it to the Hiss and Purr and a lot of what was said was what I would have said so that was good. Eventually we went to dinner at Tandoori Oven. Once again it was my first time going for Indian so I think I played it as safe as I could and it was good.
After that it was about time for the Dead Dog Dance so my room mates suited up to head down to that. I had been thinking about going, but my stomach decided it wasn't happy so I stayed in the room a bit until it calmed down. Once it did I suited up and headed down to the dance. I then promptly died because the music was terrible so I decided to head back up to the room after about 30 minutes of dancing.
Roochi was headed back with me when he was pulled away by people creating a picture of all the red fursuit heads...beheaded...
We eventually got back to the room and got as much as we could packed up and headed to bed again.
Tuesday:
We finished getting backed up and met up with the other people in the van, loaded up and headed out. Stopped at Popeye's again, still good, and had another uneventful drive home. I didn't get to bed until about 2:00 AM and headed into work on Wednesday, that was crazy.
I was rather shy at the convention so I didn't really meet a whole lot of people and most I couldn't name but overall I had a fantastic time. I usually like to mix my conventions up on a year to year basis, but I think this is one that's going to be a staple every year. I'm thinking about putting together an act for FC:U next year, something with the piano in fursuit, but I have to figure out what to play and work out having a piano to actually play on stage down there. I also hope to be less shy next year so I can actually meet new people, but that will be a lot of work.
I met up with the people I was riding with and we drove to San Jose. It was a long drive, but mostly uneventful. I did get to try Popeye's chicken for the first time though, it was good.

Commissions Open Again
General | Posted 13 years agoI know it's been a really long time since I closed commissions, but I'm now ready to open them again!
If you're interested in commissioning me for some scale work please take a look at my commission journal which can be found at http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2740862/

Commissions Remaining closed until I get home from FC
General | Posted 13 years agoAlright, with FC happening next week I won't have time to work on any commissions I take so they're staying closed for the moment. However, I get back on the 22nd so I plan to open them up again on the 23rd. If you've been waiting, I thank you for your patience and I'll be open again very soon.
FC 2013 Meme
General | Posted 13 years agoWhere are you staying?
At the Marriott
When will you arrive?
I'll be there on the 16th, probably fairly late but it depends on when we leave and how many stops people want to make.
When will you be leaving?
We will head out again early on the 22nd.
How are you getting there?
Driving, someone local is renting a van and a bunch of us are all going in it.
Who are you sharing a room with?
Roochi,
ClydeCheetah, and another person.
Who will I likely see you with?
I'll probably be with Roochi or Clyde a lot of the time as well as other Utah furs that I already know.
What do you plan to do at the convention?
Have fun mostly! I also hope to come out of my shell a bit and meet some new people, but knowing myself that isn't all that likely, I'm bad at meeting new people. I'll try though, it will be easier if I'm with people I already know.
How can I find you?
With your eyes? I'll probably be in my fursuit most of the time so look for a black dragon/wolf throwing fireballs at everyone...especially redshirts.
Do you do free art?
No, unless I know you and I'm giving it to you as a gift of some sort. You won't know about it in advance if I do. I also won't be taking commissions at the convention, too many legal things, but I'll be opening back up for them when I get back so if you like my stuff you'll be able to get it then.
Do you have anything in the art show?
Yes, I have 17 pieces for the art show, go check them out and bid on them. Or if you want something custom, contact me after the convention and we can work something out.
Will you be fursuiting? if so: What suit(s)?
Yes, I only have the one and I'll be in it often. I do have a disguise for it you might see at some point too if you pay attention.
How old are you?
Old enough, that's all you need to know...besides, there are other ways to find out that information with ease...on this very site no less!
Will you be going to parties?
Highly doubtful, not really my kind of environment.
Will you be performing?
Only in the sense that I'll be in fursuit. I hope to one day do piano performances at conventions, but I'd need to work on some kind of program for that first.
Smoke?
No, and I plan to avoid most smoking locations because I don't want my suit smelling like smoke even if I am a dragon...I hate that smell.
Drink?
I've had issues with other forms of depressants so I don't drink alcohol. The occasional soda is okay, but I mostly drink lemonade or water these days.
Gender?
I'm male last I checked...if you ask and I'm in the right mood I may let you check for yourself. ;)
How much do you weigh?
I don't see how that's really any of your business...
Come on!
I weigh enough! Now drop it!
Can I hug you?
In fursuit, yes, out of suit, maybe, ask first.
Can I talk to you?
Probably, but as I said earlier, knowing myself I might not talk back much so be ready for short responses at first.
Will you be at any panels?
Most likely, I'll have to see what's there, if they have an ADP I'll probably be there, dragons are hot.
Can I touch you?
Depends on what you mean by touch...
Can I buy you drinks?
Maybe, but like I said earlier, I don't touch alcohol. You're also not likely to see me in a place where people usually buy drinks for other people.
How tall?
That one height, geeze, what's with all of the stalker questions? Would you like my ID to copy too so you can have that information?
Yes please!
Okay, this just got really creepy, you can go away and someone else can ask the rest of these questions.
Can I snuggle with you?
Maybe, I love fursuit snuggles...that's a warning not a suggestion. ;)
If you're pissed off, should I approach you?
I probably won't be pissed off. I might be annoyed or lonely, but I don't think I'll be pissed off. If I'm annoyed, maybe but tread lightly, if I'm lonely please do...especially if I already know you, it's a big convention and I'll only know a relatively small number of people there and they're likely to do their own thing often. Although, if I am in a bad mood, you probably won't know it because I'll either be in fursuit, or back in my room avoiding everything.
Are you nice?
I want to say yes, but this is rather subjective. There are certain kinds of people I have no tolerance for, if you're one of them and make it know, you'll know pretty quick.
Single or Taken?
I'm currently single, I'm not really looking either. I don't really feel emotionally stable enough for a relationship, but then who does?
Cliquey?
I hope not, I generally try to stay with people I already know, but that's just because I already know them and meeting new people is pretty hard for me as I mentioned before.
Why are you bad at meeting people?
I though I told you to go away! I am, that's all that matters at this point!
Can I Take pictures of you?
I love seeing pictures of myself in suit after the convention, not so much out of suit. Be warned, my suit is mostly black so it tends to be rather difficult to photograph well, be ready for that.
Will you get anything commissioned?
Probably, hard to say what though because I have so many ideas. I also still need to figure how much I'm willing to spend in the dealer's den.
Porn?
You're still here!? Fine, maybe it will be porn.
How can I get your attention?
You can all out to me, that usually works pretty well, although a lot of people just call me Yuu and shouting "Hey Yuu" might not give the desired reaction.
Can I ask you to dance at the raves?
I don't think I'll be at any of the dances, not really my kind of environment. If by some miracle I am there, sure, but I don't really dance...ever...
Anything else you want to say?
Yes, there are a lot of people that know me online, be warned that I'm at least a million times more open online than I am in person. Once I get to know you in person I'm a lot more open, but if I just know you online, don't expect much at first.

FurIdaho and MFF
General | Posted 13 years agoI tentatively plan to attend both of these conventions in 2013.
I have a volunteer for a table assistant in the dealer's den at FurIdaho and I could get a room for us, but to make it cheap it would be good to have a couple more people. If you'd like to room with a dragon and a cheetah, let me know. I plan to drive up Thursday after work, and come back Sunday afternoon.
For MFF I'll need a room. I currently plan to fly because that's a long drive. I'd like to fly in the day before the convention and leave the day after, I think that's Thursday-Monday for that particular convention. If you'd like to room with a dragon at MFF, let me know.

Car Update
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I figured that people might be interested in an update on my car situation. I filed a claim with the other driver's insurance company. They said they tried to reach their client, but they weren't answering or calling back. I eventually sent them my copy of the police report because they mentioned that it takes them about 10 days to get one themselves. After they got that they were still hesitant to accept liability so I told them it seemed suspicious and they called their client immediately and managed to get through. They called me back Monday to tell me that they were accepting liability and needed to go through some paperwork to process my payment. I got a call today with the amount and it's double what I was expecting, that will really help.
Also, on Saturday I went out and purchased a new 2013 Subaru Outback so that's where the money is going. I still have my own insurance to deal with to make sure my rates don't reflect the accident, but things are really calming down now.
For those interested in commissioning me, I hope to open back up fairly soon, perhaps the next week or two.

Car Accident
General | Posted 13 years agoI was in a car accident just a few hours ago and now things are complicated. I'm now without a car and do not have an estimated time frame for having one again quite yet. This means I may be absent from some fur meets for awhile until I get my vehicle situation sorted out which sucks because that is pretty much the only time I see anyone. I also have to figure out how to get to and from work as well as piano lessons.
Because of this I'll be taking a short break from taking commissions until I can get all of this sorted out. If you're interested keep an eye out and I'll reopen when I can.
Update: I happen to not have collision coverage so I won't be getting anything from my insurance, but I did get a copy of the police report. The report describes as pretty open and shut about it being the other drivers fault so I should see something from their insurance. I also have their name and their insurance policy number so if I haven't heard from their company in a couple of days I'll contact them and see about filing a claim.
I've also heard a rumor that I'm going to be taken out car shopping this weekend. I was planning on waiting to see what the other drivers insurance would give me, but I need a car sooner rather than later. I already have an idea of what I want, I really just need to take a test drive to be certain it's the car I really do want.

RMFC Meme
General | Posted 13 years agoWhere are you staying?
The convention hotel.
What day are you getting there?
I'll be getting there Thursday evening, hopefully not too late.
Who will you be rooming with?
eliaphir,
tonkiu, and Kadj Darkfold(don't know his FA).
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
Probably lots of people, especially people that want to hand out with me!
Are there any panels you might be attending?
I have a few in mind...and if you are at one in particular you may see something fun.
Are you attending any stage or public performances?
Don't really plan to, but you never know.
Will you be suiting?
Of course, it would be silly not to.
Which suit(s) will you be bringing?
My partial.
Do you do free art?
No, even the smallest pieces I do have a high material and time cost.
Do you do trades?
Maybe, if I think the trade is worth it.
Do you do badges?
Nope, that's not the kind of art I do.
Do you do commissions?
Yes, but not at the con. I'm likely to have some business cards on me so you can contact me afterward.
What is your gender?
Still male, I don't think that will be changing anytime soon.
How tall are you?
About 5'10"
Can I talk to you?
Sure, but I may not be very talkative if I don't already know you. I'm shy like that. Please don't take it in an "I'm not interested in talking" kind of way.
Can I touch you?
Please don't...that's kind of weird...
How can I find you?
I'll be all over the convention in suit.
Can I visit your room?
Probably not...unless I know you I'd rather you not know where I'm spending my nights...no offense...
Can I buy you drinks?
Sure, but not alcoholic. I have personal reasons for not touching the stuff.
Can I give you stuff?
Depends on what you're giving me. Free art, sure! Con crud...no thanks...
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
In suit sure, I've even snuggled with complete strangers in suit. Out of suit, probably won't take snuggles from most anyone...and if I don't know you please ask about hugs beforehand.
Are you nice?
This is a very subjective question. I think I'm nice and I know a lot of people that agree with me. Will you think I'm nice? Hard to say.
How long are you going?
I'll be leaving the morning of the 13th.
Do you have an artist table?
I don't, but feel free to ask me for a business card...of course if you're reading this you already have the information it contains...
Will you have art in the Art Show? General or Adult sections?
I theoretically have a general panel in the art show. They said I have one and not to worry about it, but I never paid for it or anything...
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
You can call "Yuuryuu!" That generally seems to work. There are also those that call me Yuu or Yuri...
Where will you be most of the time during the day/s?
Wandering around the convention, mostly in suit unless I have some reason to be out of it. I may also spend time with folks in the hot tub.
What/where will you be eating?
I likely won't be headed far, I know there are a few places nearby I'll be visiting.
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
Please ask beforehand, I'll probably say yes, but let's be polite about it...besides, I'll likely be tagging along with other people myself...
Can I look in your sketchbook?
I don't currently have one so no...I'm thinking about getting one, but I don't think it would get much use this convention...
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
If I had one I'd probably say yes.
Can I take your picture?
In suit sure, I love getting my picture taken. The more pictures taken the more I can find. Out of suit...it depends, please ask.
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
I'd like my panel in the art show to do well so I can afford to commission new wings for my suit, but I really just want to relax and have fun.
Other Comments.
Is it just me or do a lot of these questions sound stalkerish?

Kickstarter Pimping
General | Posted 13 years agoHey everyone, I just wanted to pimp out a kickstarter project by one of my favorite dragon artists ever,
Tojo-The-Thief.
The project is an art book all about drawing dragons and I think it would be awesome because it could help get more people into drawing dragons. As a dragon I naturally think this would be a very good thing.
You can take a look at the project at: http://kck.st/MnmKB8

RMFC Commissions
General | Posted 13 years agoI'm thinking about taking some commissions for delivery at RMFC this year. You would pay beforehand, and then I would find you at the convention to deliver your item.
If you're interested, take a look at my commission journal for prices: # and let me know.
Make sure to include that you want RMFC delivery, otherwise I will add in the cost of shipping to your total.

Sportypup is doing another free mystery raffle, take a look: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3591602/Not a Dragon.
General | Posted 13 years agoI recently had an idea for a story to write. The story only really works when I'm the main character but when I started thinking about it I realized that the story wouldn't work if the main character was a dragon either. The obvious answer would be to make the character a secondary species for myself, but I have no clue what that would be. I'm a dragon, I was a dragon long before I even knew about the fandom and I'll be a dragon to the day I die so I've never thought about what I'd be if I just couldn't be a dragon. This leaves me in a tough position, I still want to write the story, I might even say I NEED to write it, but I don't really know what species the main character should be. I'm thinking some kind of wolf, that is what my fursuit is a hybrid with. What do you guys think?
Free Raffle
General | Posted 13 years ago
sportypup is doing some kind of free raffle thing where they won't announce the price until the drawing. If you're interested go take a look http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3511698/Rainfurrest 2012
General | Posted 13 years agoI currently do not have any plans to attend Rainfurrest this year. My reasons for this have to do with money, however, if I can get enough commissions to cover the trip I will be able to attend. What does that mean? If you want to see me at RF2012, go to my commissions journal and commission me.
Moving Out Take 2
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I went through one of those things that looks at moving to other locations and it said my moving to the Seattle area would be a challenge for me. I decided to do some research and I found that unlike Salt Lake, the condo prices vary drastically based on where it is. Some areas were way outside my budget, but some were still well within.
I think I may delay moving out for an extra year to make sure I have the funds, then I will look for a job in the Seattle area, get my own place and relocate. I'm getting to the point where I have a ton of friends here and I'm starting to worry that if I don't get out with my first move, I will never get out.
I think my biggest problem with moving to Seattle would be finding a new piano teacher on the level of my current one. Of course, by the time I make the move, I might already be at the level I want to be and lessons won't be necessary anymore.

FCN and Moving Out
General | Posted 13 years agoIf you've actually been following my journals, you'll know I had plans to attend FCN this past weekend. If you attended and hoped to find me, you were most likely disappointed because I was not there. I don't think anyone falls into the category, but just in case, sorry about that. I should have mentioned this earlier, but I was unable to afford the cost to attend FCN this year. I likely won't be going next year or even the year after that either. The reason for this is of course money. Right now I'm going to try and stick to conventions within driving distance, so California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada...you get the picture.
Why is money a bit tight for now? I'm currently saving up some money so I can think about making a down payment on my own place, make sure it's in good condition for me, and furnished. Why don't I just get an apartment and rent? I really don't like the idea of renting. Giving money to someone else for the opportunity to live in a place they own when I could be putting that same money into my own place seems silly to me. I understand it doesn't bother some people, but I'm in a good situation for now that I'm not in a rush to get out and can spend time saving up for something like that.
If you want to really keep up to date with my convention plans, just look in my profile on here, I keep a current list of planned conventions on there and it is more up to date than my journals.

Kink Meme
General | Posted 13 years agoI've seen a few of these around so I won't say I stole it from anyone in particular. If you want someone to blame, go to the list of people I watch and find someone on there that did it and blame them. I figure it may get me thinking about certain things I might not have considered before...and I'm bored so there's that.
The idea is, you post some kind of kink and I respond with whether or not it's a turn on for me.

FurIdaho Report
General | Posted 13 years agoI went to FurIdaho with rather low expectations. I had issues with my registration, I had issues getting a table in the dealer's den, their communication was poor, and they were incredibly unorganized. Despite all of that, I have to say that it was the most fun I've had at a convention. Granted that's not saying a lot considering the way my previous conventions have been, but it was awesome.
Thursday - I left my place at about 1:30 with a stop to pick up
Tenki-101. We arrived at the hotel at about 8:00pm and met up with everyone before heading out to dinner and getting settled in the room. Then we went swimming in the hotel's very salty pool.
Friday - I got my badge for the convention before everyone I was rooming with went to the hotel's restaurant for breakfast. They had a great deal where you got 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, sausage, or ham, hash browns, and toast for $3.99. Overall the food was good, but the potatoes were bland, nothing that couldn't be remedied with a little salt and pepper though. After that I got my stuff together for the dealer's den. I spent most of my time at my table in the dealer's den and I would like to thank
MidniteMountainWulf and Mystic for buying so much and watching my table when I needed to step away. After the dealer's den closed I got into fursuit for a little bit. At this point the opening ceremonies was running and I heard the chairman talking about the brony pool party(which I heard was kind of a flop because of projector issues). I walked right up to the stage, let him finish talking, and threw a fireball at him. He didn't get it at first, but once he figured it out he joked that they needed to find a new chairman and someone pulled out a chair to replace him. After opening ceremonies I was getting hungry so I got out of suit and went with
Roochi,
eliaphir,
Spacedogspiff, Leon, and
jhwolf to Denny's. After dinner I got back in suit for a little while and had a generally good time before deciding it was time to get out and call it a night.
Saturday - I was awake before anyone else in my room so I showered and headed to the restaurant for some breakfast. I wasn't feeling very good that morning so I was eating really slowly. I was joined there by Roo and El and I was starting to feel better which allowed us to finish eating at about the same time so we all went to get our stuff for the dealer's den. I ended up making 3 trips because everyone was still asleep in my room and I forgot I was going to put my fursuit head on my table. Once again I spent most of my time at my table in the dealer's den and I made a lot of sales. One of my later sales was to Space who I convinced to get something to work into a yarn lanyard they were commissioning and I have to say turned out amazing. After closing up shop in the dealer's den I was invited to be a part of a fursuit video in the hotel's workout room so I got suited up. It was a lot of fun to shot the video and hang out for a bit afterward, but I was starting to get hungry again so I went to get out of suit. I was invited to dinner with Midnight, Mystic,
soulman21, and JH and we went to Sizzler. After we got back I was pretty exhausted and was having a bit of tummy trouble so I spent the rest of the evening in the room relaxing and went to bed early.
Sunday - I was again the first one up so I showered and got my stuff packed up. I took the stuff I didn't think I'd need for the rest of the day out to my car and went to get breakfast again. After breakfast I again went to get my dealer's stuff and I was able to get some help carrying it down. It was a pretty uneventful day in the dealer's den, but I made a few sales before closing up and doing the Idaho sales tax stuff at about 1:00pm. They had announced the fursuit parade late to happen at about 1:30, but my fursuit was in my car and I didn't plan on participating. In the end I grabbed my head, arms, and hands and just threw them on and paraded. I threw fireballs at people while we were walking, and by the end of it I really needed to get it off because I didn't have time to dig into my suit case to get the underarmour. After the parade I got everything packed back up in my car and headed back inside for the Fur What It's Worth Live Show. I left at about 3:30 to head home, but it took some time to actually get out of the hotel because we kept running into people to hug and say good bye to. The drive home was uneventful and I ended up getting home at about 10:00.
I'd like to thank everyone that stopped by my table to look at my stuff and chatted with me. I'd also like to thank everyone that bought something because you made my first experience selling a good one and you can expect to see me back in the future with more variety and maybe some bigger items for sale.
Thanks everyone for making this the best con experience I've had!

General | Posted 13 years agoWhere are you staying?
I'm at the convention hotel.
What day are you getting there?
I will be arriving Thursday evening. I plan to leave about 3:00 and get there about 8:00
Who will you be rooming with?
A bunch of Utah furs. Midnight was able to get a major discount on a second room so we're splitting the total cost between 8 people.
Do you do free art?
Not really, I might make something for you as a gift, but if you ask for something free, the answer will be no.
Do you do trades?
Possibly, I'm saving for a downpayment on my own place so commission money is tight. Let me know what kind of trade you're thinking.
Do you do commissions?
I will be open for some small commissions to be completed at the con. Just stop by my table and ask.
What is your gender?
Last time I checked I was male, but hold on...
*checks himself*
Yup, still male.
How old are you?
I'm 24.
Are you taken?
No, and I don't expect that to change this con.
What suits will you have?
I will have Yuuryuu. I don't know how much suiting I'll do because I'll be spending a lot of time in the dealers den.
Do you talk in suit?
I generally avoid talking in suit; if I'm in suit and you hear me talking, I'm either in the dealer's den conducting business with someone, or it's an emergency and you should get out of my way.
Can I touch you?
If I don't know you in person and I'm not in suit, please don't. You might see me hugging and touching other people, don't take that as a sign that I'm okay with you touching me.
There is a squeaker in your suit! Can I play with it!!??
There is, how did you find that and why didn't I know about it!? And no, you can't play with it!
Can I talk to you?
Please do, but understand, I'm extremely shy with people I don't already know in person. This is something I'm hoping to get a little better so please talk to me, every little bit helps.
Can I take you out for a bite to eat?
As I said earlier, money can be a bit tight, I likely won't say no.
Can I buy you a drink?
As long as it's non-alcoholic. I have my own reasons for not drinking alcohol.
What do you plan to drink?
Mostly water, probably some lemonade at dinner, but it will mostly be water.
Can I give you lots of money?
I don't know why you would unless I took a tail commission from you, but I wouldn't mind if you did.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Again, in suit that's okay, but please don't when I'm out of suit unless I know you.
How tall are you?
5'10"
Are you nice?
I try to be.
Are you cliquey?
I try not to be.
Can I stalk you?
Please don't, I've had a stalkers in the past and it wasn't pleasant. I don't care to repeat that.
Do you like parties?
It's tough to say, if I know the people there I'd probably have a really good time, but if I didn't I'd probably be miserable.
Will you be at the dances?
I might try to make it to at least one in suit.
Will you enter the dance competition?
Probably not.
If i see you, how should i get your attention?
Shouting my name usually works pretty well.
Can I hang out with you?
I wouldn't mind it, but again(noticing a theme here), don't count on me to be very open if I don't already know you.
How can I find you?
I'll generally be in the Dealer's Den while it's open. Otherwise I'll probably be in suit somewhere, getting food, swimming, or just hanging out.
Can I take your picture?
In suit, take all the pictures you want, but know that it's a black suit and doesn't photograph particularly well. Out of suit, please ask, I generally don't mind pictures, but having my picture taken by people I don't know is kinda creepy.
Are you going to have fun?
It would be nice, but I mostly just want to relax.
Anything else you wanna just say?
Come to my table in the dealer's den and buy my shinies!

My Species
General | Posted 13 years agoIt's fairly common knowledge that I'm a dragon, but what isn't widely known is that I made my own species of dragon. If you interested in it you can find it at:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....loBAqoe9s/edit
I'm not posting it to my gallery quite yet because I want to get some feedback on it. So take a look, it's fairly short, and let me know what you think. I mostly want to know if there is anything else you'd like to know that I should add.
Thanks for looking.
