This is the con that started it all, for me-- the convention that not only made ME realize how badass furries could be, but that also shed that same light on a bunch of my previously-anti-furry friends, who (EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT FURRIES) are actually considering attending the convention, themselves, because of how AWESOME THESE PEOPLE ARE.

After talking to my friend about making the trip to OKC, it wasn't until after our arrival that I was informed she could not pick me up afterwards.
No biggie! I have lots of friends and family who'd surely be glad to help, with the donation of enough gas money!
... Oh wait, j/k. Not even my family would help, despite the fact I had an exam the next morning and was offering to pay their gas expenses PLUS a healthy thank-you bonus for saving my butt.

Thankfully, I had the help of a super amazing and generous other from the convention. (NOT SURE IF THEY WANT THEIR NAME TO BE STATED so, for the sake of courtesy, I'll keep it anon!)

These past few months (or, past few years, more like) have been pretty crazy, and the chance to go to Wild Nights was a HUGE help for my frayed mental state!

SO, OVERALL, I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED MY VERY FIRST WN.

I had tons of far-more-acceptable animal encounters while in the state, though (LIKE THE DEAL WITH THE RING-TAILED LEMUR. HECK YES. <3), so it's all good~

BUT, YEAH. FORREAL. I was having such a killer time (well, whenever I wasn't busy sobbing/starving due to missing half the meal times) that I didn't even set up a spot in the artist alley, haha. Would've been REAAAAALLY NICE to bring home a bit of monies, but MAN...
The experience of it all was worth it, if only because I didn't want to go through ALL THE TROUBLE OF ACTUALLY GETTING THERE only to spend the whole time just sitting around and drawing!

I'm pretty much always looking to socialize, haha. Even if I'm busy, I'll still talk and hang out while taking care of whatever it is!
If I DID get upset for some reason, I'd probably just go to a pretty unpopulated area and sit it out.
BUT, HONESTLY?
There is absolutely NO CIRCUMSTANCE I can imagine wherein I wouldn't want to socialize. When I get upset, my preferred method of coping is to find/make a friend and have a good time.

I didn't mean to concern anyone! Last night there was just an amalgam of things going on, and I was so distraught that... all I could really do was type it out, haha.

My depressed feelings aren't exactly gone, but I've managed to hide them away, again. Which I generally dislike doing, but I feel like there's just so much going on in life-- stuff with time limits and deadlines-- that I can't really devote time to actually healing these issues, right now.

ANYWAY. FOR THOSE WHO ASKED.

ESSENTIALLY, LAST NIGHT'S DEPRESSION WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO:
1. A feeling of detatchment from my own artwork.
I'm back to disliking my style, and wondering where I want to go with my own work. THE USUAL.
However, the unusual part of it is that I've virtually stopped drawing, this time. Half the time, I can only draw when I'm either in class, or around other people.
2. Fursuit discouragement
Furry Fiesta is in less than a month, and my suits are ready to go aside from the fucking fur. This is actually probably the root cause of all my depression, haha-- just being able to say "yes, my head is done" would lift SO much of the pain and anxiety off my shoulders. BUT I CAN'T. Something I want so badly, and could so easily do, yet can't due to a simple lack of funds.
3. Lack of funds
Oh yeah, that's right... I have no money. Like, I'm literally $8 away from being able to preorder a ticket to Furry Fiesta, but I'm not going to get paid for the month until after preordering ends. FFFFFF
4. Health concerns
Both my own, and those of my close family. Nothing urgent, really, but... worrisome, nonetheless.
5. INABILITY TO CRY
I WAS BABYSITTING LAST NIGHT, SO I COULDN'T CRY OR VENT, REALLY. It's been a good while since I've just let myself cry, so last night when I actually wanted/needed to, I had to hold back. SO THAT OBV. JUST INCREASED THE FRUSTRATION.
