Just thought I should give everyone an update as to my life at the moment. ^_^

Good Side:

- I am the proud owner of a XBox 360 as of about 6:30pm on November 2nd. I'm addicted. @_@ So far I only have 5 games, 2 of which came with the system. I have Halo 3, Guitar Hero 3, Eternal Sonata, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and Forza Motorsport 2.

- Work has been on the light side so I'm no where near as stressed as I had been the last few weeks.

- I officially start college on the 12th so that's very nice. I'm just going to have to get used to waking up at like 5 am to be out of the house on time. XD

-I have a new (somewhat, it's only had one owner prior to me) car. A '94 Chevy Berreta.


Bad Side:

- I'm insanely tired lately... I've almost fallen asleep at work twice in the last week... not even blaring my iPod seems to help. ^_^;;

-My grandfather is getting steadily worse. He's taken himself off the chemo therapy since it wasn't working and he's now being seen by a hospice nurse... My grandmother doesn't think he'll make it to Thanksgiving... T_T


Also before I forget, I'm only giving my Xbox Gamertag to good friends so don't just randomly walk up and ask for it because you are not getting it. XD


One last thing. Thanks to a friend on MSN talking to me I've started to contemplate opening up Commissions. So to kind of test the waters I would like to ask... If I opened commissions up would you be willing to pay for a picture?

Well to put it bluntly I've restarted playing Final Fantasy XI after about a year and a half of being absent from the game. (I quit when my last good friend left for another game) I restarted with a coworker who has been wanting to play the game for a while. So we formed what I lovingly call the TaruTaru Death Squad. So far I'm having an amazing time. I'm only level 6, but I'm loving the game even more than the first time I played. It's really so much better when you have at least one friend that is your level to play with.

Anyway if you happen to play on the Siren server, feel free to /tell Zaos the TaruTaru Black Mage and say hello. ^_^



In other news. work is going to be insane with these new projects we just got in so I won't have quite as much time to work on pictures. Hopefully I'll get something out in the next day or two though. ^_^;;

It surprisingly got a lot of good songs. O_o Anyway, yeah, that is some of the stuff I listen to. It's not all that I listen to, but it seems to have gotten about 1/4 of what I listen to... maybe 1/2.

(Mostly wanted to get that depressing journal off my page. lol ^_^ )

Well my parents finally decided to go out and buy the new Reba McEntire cd and I just finished importing it to my laptop and I'm listening to it as I write this. So basically the cd is "Reba Duets" and I must say... this cd blows my mind.

It's filled with nothing but insanely good songs. My biggest shock was her duet with Justin Timberlake.... it's actually very beautiful. I think it's one of my favorites. It's called "The Only Promise That Remains" and it's, like I said before, insanely beautiful. It's so soft, and slow with a some Celtic influence, but the love that I feel when I listen is beyond words. It make me shiver, it's almost ghostly.

That's not to say the other songs aren't as good. Quite the contrary, they're also of insane quality and they're just as beautiful. I haven't listened to many of the songs yet, but so far the only song that beats her Justin Timberlake duet is her Kelly Clarkson duet where they sing Kelly's song "Because of You".

(Sorry, I need to vent a little... if you don't like venting please ignore this)

God my life has been very dramatic in some aspects lately... I've had insanely good things and insanely bad things within the last few weeks that have caused my mind to be a mass of clashing emotions. There have been times where I smile, but feel like crying and times when I cry, but feel like smiling and laughing.

To kind of explain why I feel like this I think I should give some bits of background info...

Good Things:

-I got to see my old art teacher from high school. (She is an amazing woman who cares about her students with all her heart)
-I got my state fair prize winning drawing back.
-I'm being allowed to do more and more graphical projects at work.
-I'm 100% enrolled to start college for game design.

Bad Things:

-The doctors FINALLY diagnosed my grandfather with stage 4 cancer. They say he's probably had this for a very long time... (Why didn't they diagnose it earlier then!?)
-The chemo-therapy isn't working... it's spreading... T_T


Personally the only things holding me together is my music, art, work, and... hope... which is beginning to shrink as more bad news happens....

Well I finally took the time and downloaded OpenCanvas v1.1

Needless to say it's quite fun. ^_^ Although I really need to practice before I ever even think of drawing with anyone. Since at the moment my drawing skills with my tablet are lackluster at best. Anyone know any tricks for getting my drawing skills on real paper to transfer to the monitor? I'm already using a felt tipped nib (or is it nub?) on the pen and that has helped quite a bit and I've been contemplating taping a piece of paper over the drawing area since I heard that helps as well. Yet aside from those does anyone know any more tips that could help?

Well it's pretty much official. I'm going to college for game design starting this October. ^_^ I'm going to be studying at Brown technical college in game design and I'll have my bachelor's degree in roughly 3 years if everything goes smoothly.

I'm not sure which aspect of game design I'll lean towards. Maybe I'll lean towards the artistic side like character designing or maybe the programming side since I already do programming as my day job. I'm guessing though that I'll lean the artistic way though since drawing ad doing art has always brought me so much enjoyment.

All I have left is getting the student loans finalized and taking their placement test (which I scheduled yesterday to be taken on Tuesday *crosses fingers*).

Until then though I'm going to be working full time at work to help lighten the load while my coworkers are at their respective colleges during the day until October starts. Hopefully I'll still be able to get at least a picture a week out on here. (Shouldn't be a problem, but there is always that possibility)

Wow... today was just awesome! Got to the fair at about 8:30 AM and walked around until everything started opening about 9. That's when I had the first awesome experience of the day. I went to the education building to see if my art had won anything and low and behold I had actually made it to the second place group! (At the fair I think it's called second premium or something like that) Although only one of the two pictures I entered won a prize I was happy none the less. Plus to make things even sweeter, it was my favorite of the two pictures that won. Funny thing is it's very, very simple. All the picture contains is a wolf howling at a full moon while cherry blossoms fly across the scene and I have a haiku translated into Japanese transcribed in the middle. After that I was walking on cloud nine! To make matters even better I stumbled across an amazing art booth on the first floor of the grandstand where I purchased a painting of two wolves and their pups laying together. Now I just gotta find a good place to hang it in my room. XD

Other than that me and my parents wandered around the fair aimlessly, picked up our favorite fair foods:

-Mini donuts
-Sweet Martha's Cookies
-Pronto Pups
-Cheese Curds
-Fries

And then we hit the bazaar by the entrance where I purchased two figurines from a pewter sculpture stand that I've gone to for the last five or six years. I bought a wizard figurine and a dragon hourglass that I think are rather nice additions to my already nicely sized collection.


Needless to say, the day ruled! Now I need to rest my feet... they ache from so much walking heheh... ^_^

Expect more art later this week, possibly Monday.

Now I best finish this before I turn it into a novel... haha! :P

Hello again. How has everyone been since I last logged on?

Anyways I think I should give everyone a heads up that I may vanish for a few days since tomorrow one of the most anticipated games of this year comes out and I have it reserved. Bioshock looks to be quite spectacular judging from the newly released PC demo that I downloaded while I was at work today.

Also in other news I'm very much anticipating this upcoming week because the state fair starts up at the end of the week! Hopefully I'll get some time to go down and check it out... maybe I'll actually win something for my professional art for once instead an honorable mention. Here's hoping that comes true...

...great now that I'm talking about the fair I have a craving for the mini donuts and Sweet Martha's Cookies...
