Now I wonder how many people will actually care about this, lol.

Some other JoJo+ZTWD ideas:
General | Posted 10 years agoHoliday Commissions Open!
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I'm a little short on cash after spending money on gifts, actually let's not beat around the bush, I'm really low on cash. You know the drill, here's the copypasta.
Commission prices are still as follows.
PRICES:
Sketches: 3$ (example)
Line Art: 5$ (example)
Flat color: 6$ (example)
Shaded: 7$ (example)
-The following prices apply to works that involve a singular character. Prices may lower or increase based on simplicity or complexity.
-Comics are also an option! Prices work as follows:
--Two-panel comics cost as much as a normal commission, so a two panel flat color comic with a singular character would cost 6$.
--Additional panels are approximately 1/3 of the price of the initial commission type. So adding a third panel to the example flat color comic would add on an extra 2$.
CHARACTERS:
-Additional characters: +2$ per character, once again, may vary based on simplicity/complexity, certain amounts of characters may entail lower prices (such as 3 characters, which would cost 6, going for 5 instead)
BACKGROUNDS:
-Simple gradients or flat backgrounds are free. Scene backgrounds cost no more than 3$, depending on complexity..
WHAT I WILL DRAW:
-I will draw just about anything. Yes, that includes NSFW pornographic stuff, but there's a couple of conditions.
-NSFW content such as pornographic works may cost extra. Not because "ew I hate drawing sexy porno stuff" but rather because I cannot promise that they will be any good. This is probably the only recent thing I've done I'd consider pornographic or explicit. Also this.
-As much as I feel this is going to result in disaster, I am LIFTING ALL RESTRICTIONS ON FETISHES. That's right, the stuff that I said I wouldn't do, I'm doing now. I may, however, charge extra if drawing said fetish makes me uncomfortable.
Also, if you are getting a commission from me, please SIGNAL BOOST ME! It will be very much appreciated. :)

I've never been romantically into the characters from it but
General | Posted 11 years agoI would love to see some modular art of Morenatsu characters, especially Tatsuki and Soutarou.
Soutarou in half would be adorable~

Shichimen's Low Priced Commissions (until Saturday!)

shichimen is doing low priced commissions until Saturday, so it's kind of like a Black Friday deal! They're a great artist; they did a few wonderful pictures for me before! (NSFW)

Argh!
General | Posted 11 years agoI had a great idea in a story with a series of modular characters in a dream, only to have completely lost it when I woke up!
All I recall is that one of them was fat, and in the end they all find out someone who's supposed to be disliked is actually hiding his own modular secret and that's why he's so distant and disliked or something?

Got my Lucario Model Kit! Thoughts and more:
General | Posted 11 years agoAlright, so in a previous journal I discussed getting Pokemon plastic model kits to build for fun. Turns out my Mega Lucario shipped a few days early, so I was able to build it today! Here's a picture: (link)
My thoughts? Well, it looks cool, and was certainly easy to build; but fuck stickers to high heaven. I'm no good at these things, and the stickers were so difficult to put on without looking like ass. Still, it's here, and it looks awesome, though maybe with more cash and practice I might invest in some paints and a small brush and see if I can paint on the stickered parts instead, that, or just get better at them.
Anyway, gimme a few weeks and maybe I'll order Blaziken, and see how that one turns out over the Christmas break.

A Thought: What if Lucian and company weren't Pokemon?
General | Posted 11 years agoWhat animals do you think they'd be?
I mean obviously characters like Blake (Houndoom) or Marissa (Articuno) would be obvious, but could they still have the same powers?
How would that be explained?
EDIT: Might be onto something with this idea. If Lucian's universe was a spinoff of the Pokemon universe, "Mythic Soul" might be a spinoff of that where Lucian and co. are based around different mythical creatures.

Update on a new laptop. Also Pokemon Model Kits.
General | Posted 11 years agoSo about that new laptop...
...I don't have it yet. But I'm damn sure you can pretty much expect it soon.
The kind of stuff I'm trying to find is not the best, high-tech stuff out there, but good enough to tide me over with Garry's Mod, 3DS Max, more hard drive space, and overall, just be a decent machine. And I can find that stuff for as low as 249 dollars or so.
So yeah, I'm pretty sure that there's a chance I could be getting my new machine soon, and be able to art and whatnot. On another subject, I'm kind of interested in buying these Pokemon model kits. I have 30 bucks on PayPal that would've probably gone to an art commission or something on Steam, but what I've found is cheaper, and I can probably get two with the money I have, mainly these two:
-Mega Lucario ( http://www.amazon.com/Bandai-Pokemon-Plastic-Collection-Lucario/dp/B00J4G4J2Q/ref=pd_sbs_t_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=0XMMADT31SZMTV4JJS9G )
-Mega Blaziken ( http://www.amazon.com/Pokemon-Plastic-Model-37-Blaziken/dp/B00KRVJ3RS/ref=pd_sim_t_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0C9S2J2KABRPHED0R81R )
Total price: $21.93
I'll be frank with you guys; I kind of want these because they're essentially modular Pokemon figures, and they snap together by the same means, swapping is most likely in order. What do you guys think? Would you want to see me do this?
EDIT: Just bought Mega Lucario for now. Will probably get Blaziken in the winter or so.

Bad News, but also Kirins.
General | Posted 11 years agoAlright, first off, lemme get the bad news out of the way.
My laptop went kaput, sorta. It's still alive, yeah, but the charging plug...thing...doesn't work. To get the technicalities out of the way, I can plug it in and it won't charge. It's got about 55% power on it, and I'm saving that power for when I really need it, that is, when I need to back up essentials for transfer to a new machine.
Good news is I have a rental laptop courtesy of my academic advisor. All I can do on it though is browse FA and make comments and journals; I can't submit anything fully colored, as I can't install Paint.NET due to security reasons. At most, I could probably do phone pictures of sketches and colored sketches. Commissions are pretty much on hold; not like anyone cared though.
I will see what I can do about getting a new computer. For now, though, expect little activity from me.
Oh and one more thing, go vote for this. It's fucking adorable and I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Time to tip the scales! (Smash 3DS GET!)
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I got Smash 3DS...two days ago, and I've been REALLY enjoying it. I'll admit, some of the 3DS controls feel odd, and I've had moments where I'd sort of lose sight of my character, but it's nothing to make me hate the game or proclaim that Smash should never be on a handheld, because it should be, as well as a console. It's everything I've ever wanted in a Smash game, sort of!
So what would I want for Smash 5 if there ever is one? (and I'm not talking Smash on Wii U, that's the same as Smash 3DS kind of) Well, my one most wanted character made it into the roster of SSB4 right in the beginning, so that was the most hype for me, but I think what I like about Smash 4 is that its newcomer lineup was a bunch of characters I didn't know I wanted (yes, even that guy, you'll see who I mean later on), and while cutting a few beloved characters of mine, I'm not too down on the game. I kind of expected Wolf to get the axe, and as shocking as it is, the Ice Climbers being axed due to hardware limitations on the 3DS is fine with me. Apparently Sakurai said they were planned for the roster, and were working on the Wii U perfectly, but the 3DS just couldn't handle it I guess. This is their first handheld version, give them a break.
I also really wanted to see Zoroark playable, but alas, he's been demoted to a Pokeball item. Also a Pokeball is Keldeo, and I'm happy the Swords of Justice got some attention, but I'd actually love to see Keldeo playable now. It's odd to think but we haven't had a playable legendary since Melee's Mewtwo, and Keldeo's movie was pretty well received along with Lucario's. Considering we have SEVEN Mario reps this time around (one who's actually eight characters in one), what's wrong with having an extra Pokemon?
So speaking of those newcomers, you probably want to hear my thoughts on them. Well, I like all of them, but there's a few specifics I REALLY like.
For starters, mentioned above was Mega Man. I played him to DEATH in the demo, and got pretty good. I sort of hardly use him in the main game for this reason. He's like a secret weapon to me; not a primary character choice, but I'll use him and kick ass when I feel like it.
Robin is definitely a new main. Either he's really good, or I'm just really good with Robin. Oh, and I know Female Robin exists, I just use he to describe my personal color choice.
PacMan was strangely really fun to play. I might get around to using him more.
I'm gonna say this now, I actually like Dark Pit. Yes, he's essentially a palette swap of Pit, but I just can't get into playing Pit. Yeah, Dark's heavier and tankier, but I like that, kind of like how I also like playing Ganondorf aside from Captain Falcon.
Rosalina, I'm getting the hang of. Same goes for Wii Fit Trainer and Little Mac. Still not quite that good with either of the three though.
Shulk is another possible main, I'm not too bad with him.
I don't like Palutena's standard up and down specials, but that's just me. I'll probably get used to them for online play.
And I really don't have much to say about the other new characters; I guess I just like them all, heh.
So yeah, battle me sometime if you have my friend code.

Random thought: Lucian's Japanese VA

Shintaro Asanuma would make a good Lucian.
Oh yeah, Shulk confirmed for SSB4. I've never played Xenoblade but I love the character's style.

"A couple of weeks ago, they did rescreenings of the old Pokemon movies, and they had a few stuff on display, like reference sheets and the sort.
This one, though, is really surprising to me. It states that Lugia’s nostrils are all the way up there."
I guess it gives more closure as to what Lugia is (a sort of whale/bird hybrid) but like...
My nose.
Is on top of my head.

Bronycon 2014
General | Posted 11 years agoHey, MLP fans! Did you like my Crystal Heartbreak picture?
From the course of August 1st to August 3rd, I, Lucian (ZarelTheWindDragon on DeviantArt and FurAffinity and T.C. Crimsonwing in the pony community) will be at the Baltimore Convention Center for BronyCon! I will be selling the above as a print for a mere seven dollars at Booth #1104-A (next to Stamayo Studio) in the BronyCon Dealer's Den alongside my friends Pink Ink and JakeRomano! I will also possibly be doing 4$ 5.5x8 colored sketch commissions, provided I can get the tools of the trade. If not, they'll be uncolored and worth 2 or 3 dollars, depending on complexity.
Also I don't know much about vendoring or how popular this piece will be, so there's a chance it can go fast! I'm only printing out a small supply (around 30). It's kind of my way of testing the waters of how I'd do selling things at a convention! If it goes well, I'll be back for Bronycon 2015 with more artwork!
Hope to see you there! And remember, it's not all about me; buy something from Pink Ink and Jake too! After all, they're the real stars, I'm just so grateful of them to let me sell my stuff at their booth too!

Pulling the Plug and Unfinished Business [Please read]
General | Posted 11 years agoLadies and gentleman, as you may know, I've hit a sort of dead end in my art, having the motivation to sketch something or start sketching, but lacking the drive to finish it. It's gotten really bad, to the point where I just feel like not bothering anymore.
And last night, I was thinking of just retiring from FA. Don't get me wrong, I love to draw things, but it's just become more of a chore than a pleasure. I've got a head brimming with ideas but a lack of motivation to put them out on paper.
It's also partially because I want to start doing more professional things with art. As I said, I'm an aspiring game designer, and I jotted down some concept sketches for characters in a game I want to make, and I feel professionals would rather see that than some picture of a Lugia taking his head off. Not to mention I feel like my "glory days" of FA are coming to a close. Back in 2009, 2010 even, I had a lot of great friends whom I've stuck with to this day, but they just don't really do anything anymore. Perhaps they've moved on as well, and maybe it's time for me to hit the trails.
I know people usually outgrow this site around their 30s or 40s and I know I'm only turning 21 in less than four months. But after 5 years of this site, I've come a long way, but I'm thinking that's going to probably end soon.
Now I don't know yet if I'm going to be shutting down my page or not. If I do, I will warn you. What I won't do is erase my previous artwork, as it shall be left as a memoir to my evolution. If I were also to go, I'd probably post a few sketches I never ended up finishing, no matter how old, and finally finish it off with a nice parting gift; a group picture of all my characters thus far, including ones you've never seen. That's where the "unfinished business" comes in.
It's only because I had so many ideas for characters in a story, but as soon as I started putting the story on paper it just didn't hold up. Lucian was supposed to have this four-arc story going from his mid-high school days to adulthood.
And another reason, of course, that I might shut down is that I just don't feel I get enough attention. I was hoping to maybe get some takers for commissions on my last journal, but alas, got nothing, except two trade requests which honestly, I'd rather get paid for this. Keep in mind though, I might just be going through a rough patch right now and my drive might take some time to get back to me.
I hope you can understand. Thanks for reading.

Massive Art Slump. Commissions and trades are open.
General | Posted 11 years agoI've really just run out of ideas and motive to draw anything for myself. I sketch something and that's about it. I probably have a good deal of sketches just sitting in my book right now, waiting to be digitized, but I just lost the motivation to do it. I blame the summer slump, and my failed attempts at job hunting.
That is why as well as having my commissions still open (come on guys I really need the money), I'm re-opening trades to the public.
The rules with trades are that I need to feel like I'm getting something good in return. If I don't particularly like your art, I will be honest about it and politely refuse. If you take too long for a trade and have nothing to say about it besides "I'm busy", then I will more than likely refuse trading with you in the future. Trust me, had one guy take four fucking months to finish his half and it wasn't even that good.
So taking a week or two is fine. Three weeks is a bit iffy, and a full month is pushing it. Nonetheless, don't rush yourself!
This is probably the only recent thing I've done I'd consider "pornographic" or "explicit." Also this.

This is probably the only recent thing I've done I'd consider "pornographic" or "explicit." Also this.

I'm a little disappointed...
General | Posted 11 years ago...that for a furry website, you can't set your mood as "yiffy".
Death is never "farewell."
General | Posted 11 years agoI think that it’s important I post this here, not as a cry for attention and comfort, but because if I seem depressed or sullen, people will know why.
Earlier this month, my uncle, who was doing quite well after having dealt with a brain tumor, had his condition take a turn for the worse, and we were basically told that he wouldn’t make it through April. Needless to say, sadly, today was the day he passed on.
He was a good man, a loving husband and a father to my two favorite cousins, and honestly, at first I was upset because they’re still young; not even in high school yet. Losing a father this early is going to be tough.
However, a friend taught me a very important lesson, and I honestly hope that some of you take it to heart.
Death is never “farewell,” because while we may physically lose connection with our loved ones, they stay in our hearts and minds and forever watch over us. Death is not “farewell”, but rather “see you later.”
In this case, see you later, Uncle Mike. You had a good run, and you will be forever cherished in our hearts.

General | Posted 11 years agoOpening Commissions Again!
General | Posted 11 years agoI realized I really spent too much money since Christmas, and I kind of need some in my pocket for some future savings. So lemme run down the commission news and prices.

-I draw the line on some fetishes, but they're mostly the more raunchier ones. These will nots include:
--Scat
--Watersports
--Overly fat characters (like "oceans" or "mounds")
--Overly muscle characters (beyond steroid levels)
--Hyper characters (sorry, no giant 7ft cocks)

Pokemon Battle Trozei - Lining Up Stuff's Never Been Better
General | Posted 11 years agoSo yesterday, I popped on the eShop to see if Pokemon Battle Trozei was released. It wasn't, but while there, I got a different game called Crazy Kangaroo for cheap. It's alright; it's like one of those app games where you play it to pass time; nothing special really, but still fun. However, today, Battle Trozei did release, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I was pretty intrigued by it.
When it first came out, I never played the first Pokemon Trozei, nor did I know a thing about it besides the slogan; "Four in a row, and you're good to go". It's also got a weird name; what the crap's a trozei? Anyway, let's get to the point.
Pokemon Trozei is a puzzle game in which you line up four Pokemon images to score points. In Battle Trozei, you use your puzzle-solving skills to catch...well..."Trozei" wild Pokemon. Trozei'd Pokemon can later on become your "Support Pokemon," in the sense that their pieces appear in the game window all the time, which can help with the game's type-matchup mechanic. Doing a round where there are mostly water types? Grab a strong Grass or Electric type, simple as that.
There's also combos, where lining up four or more and then following with a chain starts "Trozei Chance", in which lineups don't have to be straight, can take two Pokemon as well as the default three or more, and can happen anywhere. Five or more makes your attack scatter, which can help with battling more than one Pokemon at once, and six does a double-powered scatter attack. Certain Pokemon also have abilities now, such as Pokemon like Chesnaught or Lucario having the "Power of Five" ability, which unleashes a stronger than normal attack when lining up five or more. The game combines adrenaline-rush puzzling with strategy and collection, and it all blends quite nicely.
Speaking of; now we're getting to my opinion; the game is great. I've never played the first Trozei, but I'm sure this is a lot better. The puzzling is addicting and, call it dumb, but I actually have a Pokemon I call my "Trozei Buddy", and whom I'm trying to make a likeness of in my Y version; a male Delphox named Robin, after the Disney adaptation of Robin Hood. You might see art of him soon, friends! Robin aside; this game really is good, and worth a try; it's only 8 bucks too! It's something to work towards beating, and I honestly feel like I'll be replaying previous levels endlessly trying to collect all the Pokemon and get S-Rank on every level.
Now it's nitpick time, and there's a few of those. For starters, there are certain Pokemon that don't come out until you reach a certain condition; for example, there's an early level where you can Trozei the Scatterbug evolution line, but in order for Spewpa to appear, you need to land a super-effective move on Scatterbug. One level has Dedenne in it, and in order to make it appear, you need to have Pikachu as your support. Problem is, with that level, majority of the pieces are all Electric type with Drilbur serving as the necessary Ground type, and you're battling Electric Pokemon, so it can get confusing.
But this game is a must-have for 3DS owners looking for something to do to pass time, or if they want to sit down with an addictive puzzler. There's also StreetPass and Multiplayer features, though I have yet to see how they work. It'd be cool if you could battle your Support Pokemon against theirs. Perhaps me and Robin could give some people a run for their money!
Pokemon Trozei gets a 9/10 from me. Sadly, I had to use five of those stars to get a Scatter Attack, and the other four to start Trozei Chance.
Happy Trozei-ing!
