$5 Sketches
Posted 10 years agoHey fuzzies! I'm going to be trying out a thing!
I'm opening up $5 sketch commissions - the sort you'd get from a sketch stream - just as a general thing, but I'm limiting the quantity I will take on at any point in time. I'm doing this for a couple reasons; one, it's really hard for me to find a dedicated time (and audience) for a set stream period right now; two, I want to start doing warm up sketches and might as well make some scratch while I'm at it.
I'm going to start with five of these, and the same rules apply generally as they have with sketch streams:
One character only.
References are super awesome.
If you want something specific, tell me up front.
If you don't, you get what you get, but I'll try and make it awesome.
No revisions unless I royally mess something up.
Also as with sketch streams, if you want to evolve a sketch into a full on commission I'm completely supportive of the idea and will adjust pricing to account for the sketch bit already being done (save any changes / additions to be made). If you wanna give me a cheap prelim before going whole hog on a $50+ piece, this is a pretty solid way to get on with that.
I have a few days before I get on with this, so if you're interested drop me a line either via note or the comments below; once I approve a request, I will require payment via Paypal before beginning work. If you were hoping for points, I've been considering it. Still not decided there or sure of what the conversion rate comes out to, but from what I understand points can actually be turned back into real-world money, which is generally a lot more appreciated at the markets and such.

First paid, first served, but please do not send payment before I send the OK (I'll give the Paypal address once your request is approved) - I may not take everything, or someone might have first dibs, so to avoid a massive cluster I'll try to manage the submission order and keep everyone posted. If this goes well I'll try to expand the queue a bit and make this a proper thing!
Later guys!

Patreon and Storenvy Launch
Posted 10 years agoSo I took one of my two weeks’ worth of vacation for the year, sat down, and worked some things out that I’ve been wanting to do for a long while now.
First up, I’ve set up a Storenvy ( http://studiogato.storenvy.com/ ), which replaces the old, possibly dysfunctional HP storefront we had manhandled into the website. SoT#1 is listed already, as well as a number of prints. How fancy!
Second, if you’re the more charitable sort, I’ve got a Patreon ( https://www.patreon.com/zaronx ) started wherein you can fund my wild creation of all manner of things. It’s worth a gander if you like the stuff I put out.
Also, if you're the DA sort, I tend to post a lot more over there simply because it's a lot less of a pain in the boots. Mine is right yonder: http://zaron.deviantart.com

Picarto Get
Posted 10 years agoGuys, I got a Picarto. https://www.picarto.tv/live/channel.....hp?watch=Zaron
If'n you have an account there and follow me, you get notified whenever I stream, which is kinda rad. Also, the site is actually alive, so people can just sort of stumble onto me, which is a lot better for exposure than the shambles of old Livestream me and too many others keep desperately clinging to, afraid of change. We don't get stream storage this way, but I'm going full HD at 30 fps and don't have to fear the horrible bandwidth monster, so I consider that a pretty fair trade.
Probs be a sketch stream later today. Until then, I'll probably keep stalking the chat box in case any looky-loos get talkative.

A Journal About a Blog Post
Posted 11 years agoOops I did a post on HP about maybe launching a Patreon and I'm looking for feedback. You can find that sucka right here: http://hamstapowah.com/?p=1716
Tell me whatcha think.
Tell me whatcha think.
Oh, right. FA is a thing.
Posted 11 years agoGuys I've been dropping the ball pretty hard on FA these days. I'm still around on DA, but have been less than enthused with most of the other places I'd traditionally posted art before. Part of it was a sort of mental cleansing, I guess, but another part was laziness. Horrible, horrible laziness.
If you're wondering what I've been up to, DA is as solid a place as any (http://zaron.deviantart.com/), s is my website, assuming it works for you at the moment. I'm having some weird header problem? It sucks.
Anyway, you guys are kind of my target audience I guess just by default of being around on here, so I should probably do a better job maintaining this mess a bit. Maybe. I guess.
I'm holding a sketch stream later. Why not stop by? Link, details, all that jazz can be found here: http://zaron.deviantart.com/journal.....-PST-462521120

$5 Sketch Commissions!
Posted 14 years agoDude-men and lady-chicks, I am considering doing a whatsit!
It is quite the simple whatsit, that being dirt cheap super-simple sketch commissions, wherein for five bucks I doodle you a thing and you deal with it. By this I mean I'll draw just about whatever, so long as the whatever is a whoever and you're okay with the details pretty much ending there.
In simple terms, I will draw a character for five bucks. You need only provide a previous visual of said character, or, that failing, a decent description, probably including things like hair/face/general clothing and a rough personality description since I actually use that to lay out facial features (weird, maybe?). My goal for now is to hit, say, ten of these, but we'll see how it goes.
The difference between this and my traditional commissions is that I'll be taking the five bucks up front, but you won't be getting charged my per-hour rate, because these are meant to be quickie things for the amusement of everyone and general fattening of my Paypal. You can take more than one slot thing, and if you like what I come up with we could always flesh it out as a full-blown work down the line, but for those of you working on a budget, boom! Cheap sketches. I get to work my artistic muscles, and you get me unintentionally making all your characters adorable even if they make Lucifer feel inadequate.
You want a picture of you? I could probably do that.
You want a picture of a rabbit? Yeah, sure.
You want you as a rabbit? I have some practice.
You want you as a gender-swapped rabbit? Is that even you anymore? I still can, though!
You want you as a rabbit riding on a train made of fetuses emerging from hell? You're delightfully twisted and that sounds amazing, but that's kinda outside the scope of these. You'd need a budget, I fear. Send a note my way or something.
Generally, if your character is anything but a giant throbbing dong, I'll probably do it. (The dong will cost double, I don't enjoy such things.)
The only restriction really is that it needs to be something I could crank out fairly quickly (like under an hour), so don't expect any gloriously-colored masterpieces. In fact, if there's color, I loved the hell out of whatever I pissed out for you and you just got a free bonus.
If you have any doubt on if I'd accept the commission, drop me a note first! Generally, if it's single-character and not much else, tho, there shouldn't be too many problems. c:
Slots filled as people throw money at me. Paypal is preferred. Shoving cash in my face is also acceptable. If no slots are filled, this will sit here looking really sad. Don't do that to me!

You can use the donor button on my site (http://www.hamstapowah.com) or via my email if you know it, I guess, since I can't slap a button on this thing. I'm not sure how to be more convenient without getting myself hacked atm, honestly, and spambots loooove taking over my accounts, ask my old twitter. : | When LM's about I'll see about slapping the HP email on this, since it's basically for such things, but for now note me or something if you have any questions / need payment info.

It Whistles While you Whip!
Posted 15 years agoThere's been a new Trapdoor video out for a couple weeks. We've been fairly well-received, but not spreading so hot. This seems to be contributing to a number of things bumming out the group's masthead, which in this odd instance isn't me.
Cheer the lad up, if you could, and hit up the vid, leave some feedback, or a simple thumbs up/down. I think it would brighten his day quite a bit, as he's sunk a good amount of time and money into this en devour so far, and it's kind of his life dream or something to be in a successful sketch comedy group.

We're still starting out and learning the ropes, but shall do our best to entertain you. c:

Axe Cop Guest Strip!
Posted 15 years agoOh yes. You can find it over yonder at http://axecop.com/index.php/acguest.....est_episode_19
Ethan's been rather busy lately and thus it took like three weeks to get up, but this and Revival were two of my main goals I wanted to accomplish during HP's break, so it's pretty sweet to have another one knocked out.
Also, I'm working with a couple friends on a new YouTube project. If you don't follow the site, you probably missed Mathlete, the first of what we hope to be many videos of overall increasing quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8vSq-Cpfx0
So how you all doin'?

The Grand Backlog of BS
Posted 15 years agoOi, I don't update much, eh? I suppose enough has happened to warrant bothering people.
first off, as anyone on the main site has noticed, HP's been on hiatus for about two months now. I've been dabbling with all sorts of things, like a new name and logo, debating how 80s I want the whole thing to feel (a thought process that has had me realizing how much I like 80s cartoon nonsense), trying to find a new balance for my assorted projects... you know, it's complicated. I've been blogging on the site at least once a week in an effort to keep things alive, and some of the handful of people who came in due to Redux were whining about needing time to catch up anyway. For the best?
The time off has largely left me realizing I really don't care about a lot of things that... frankly, are resulting in the comic being less than popular. I want more readers, but every supposed step I've taken to improve retention and what not has either not worked or had a very minor and often temporary effect, so I have a hard time believing any other changes I make will help at all, and each one I do makes me feel more taxed and in turn leaves the comic a little more soulless as I push pages out to make deadline and so on.
I'm pondering how I'll get back into it, having sketched a couple pages and that Snowy strip. I have ideas, especially regarding the fate of the site itself if/when the name change comes to pass. The new title does a better job of summarizing the comic as a whole, rather than being named after one group that, thus far, hasn't been too utterly important despite being involved in things and their ideals being what pushes a lot of the character growth and interaction.
However, all of that is probably horribly uninteresting, so let's say something not mundane, ponder-y, or otherwise lacking in interest.
I made a game, and you can find it here: http://hamstapowah.com/?p=1364
I did it for a contest I was disqualified for because I had to update the thing so it could run on half the machines trying to play it without lagging like a worm drowning in molasses. I'd never made anything that, you know, needed memory management for jack, so I was caught off guard. Thus, disqualification via a late update, didn't even make round 1, rather upset as I rushed it out the door in the first place because of the contest deadline, but I'd rather be disqualified for caring than lose anyway because it's a broken piece of junk. Some people still have odd errors I can't really explain, like one person's crash on start, which is... rather odd and annoying.
That's probably the bulk of it. Have dealt with a lot of haters recently, and taken to shying from the more social aspects of the internet for a few weeks due to, and crawling out of my shell finally. How're all of you?

Commission Me, k thx?
Posted 15 years agoSo yeah, major moment of history here. Not only is it my first journal on FA, but I'm using it to bring attention to my monetary needs and whine for support in exchange for doodles or whatever else I can dish out to the willing. Epic, right? No? Well, whatever, epic isn't the point.
I'm open for commission work, fuzzballs, and those interested can get the nitty-gritty details over yonder: http://hamstapowah.com/?page_id=1100
Those wanting the not-so-nitty-gritty need only know the following:
> It's 9 bucks an hour for whatever you want/need/third-thing me to do.
> In other words if you've seen something of it's nature in my gallery or know I do it, I can probably do it for you: art, comics, music, whatever.
> The linked page has samples, among which is a single character thing, which being common enough I'mma site here as well as running you on average about $20 USD.
> I need money and this is FA. You can probably talk me into some forms of smut. Key word there being "some" as a lot of the stuff around here just terrifies me. Granted, most people involved in such things don't look twice at my stuff so I'm not too worried at offending anyone specific, really. Just realize that if you feel ashamed of yourself in the morning, looking at your reflection in the mirror, because you like some kinky something or other, don't expect me to jump all over it.
So yeah. That about covers it.
Feed me. :o
