We return to pallet town and enter the professors lab. We find Oak at his desk. He's a mess, hovering over a communicator, covered in days of stubble. He's taken up chain smoking and chugging coffee. Behind him, a blackboard, covered in the phrase he has spoken to you so many times. Then you look around to realize it is no longer only the board; The scrawlings of "Red! this isn't the time to use that!" are on the walls, the bookcases, his computer, even some of the lab equipment. some of the more recent are the color of dried blood. It is at this moment you realize all of his assistants and lab workers are nowhere to be seen. Then he turns to see you, a look of scorn and hate in his eyes.

namely: lower body (up to the waist) with new attached tailfeathers, arms, hands, and feet.

i want a somewhat cartoony look, digitigrade legs, 4 fingered paws.

the desired body markings are somewhat simple, two tone caramel/creme with a dark brown strip between the two. (i have pics)

i always look at the formula of 'time, cost, and quality: pick two'. but these are my limits:

time: i would like to see it finished by around september of this year, but i may be willing to accept later if need be.
quality: reasonable quality of construction is expected, but i'm not expecting meticulous detailing. i dont need extensive airbrushing or anything, (a little would be cool, but its really not needed).

if anyone is a suitmaker and wants to take this one, let me know. - or if anyone seeing this knows someone who'd be a good fit for this, also let me know ^v^

i suggest backing up the files you replace by renaming them and adding "original" to the filename before pasting in these.
just place it in steam/steamapps/common/starbound/assets/items/armors/avian
from there pick the one you want to replace. i recommend "worker" if you want it to just be you, and use commoner and fancy if you want it to be some of the NPC. using these mods has potential to make herms/Cboys, too.

while it will be a shame to lose belic and k'graa from this, we should do our best to show them their devotion over the last 11 years will not be forgotten, and we'll do our best to keep their vision going.

last year, furfright was a bit all over the place. a lot of plans changed when friends i normally saw there didnt go. and then the whole fire alarm and impending hurricane crap just made it worse.

this year was its polar opposite.

so now the good stuff.

nearly everything worked out well. time, schedules, friends, a finished fursuit, i dont think i ever had more than 15 minutes of downtime at any major point in the con. the funny thing was, even the times i got knocked out of tournaments seemed to be perfectly timed so i could head straight to the next thing i wanted to do. it was pretty uncanny. that said, i took part in the 'random n64 game challenge' tourney, the apples to apples tourney, fursuit games, and poker tourney. i made it a couple rounds in the n64 one, and got taken out pretty early in apples to apples, but thats fine. im in all these for the fun, and i had a lot of it. and myrilla won anyway :D. i did surprisingly well in the poker tourney, but decided to bow out to watch the masquerade: a decision i do not regret. in fursuit games we took second place, and i was happy that my idea to name our green team "the lime citra" stuck xD

everyone was streetpassing on 3DS :P
in prior years, streetpassing was good, but this year it was hillarious. by the time i collected 10, there were 10 more waiting. it was impossible to catch up, and without much downtime, there was no way. i just collected what i could and used them.

my first year with a proper fursuit:
the suit is more or less finished. some parts were a bit temporary, but they worked out fine. taking part in the fursuit parade and fursuit games was a ton of fun for me, and really made me feel like for the first time, i was 'part of the convention' and not just an attendee. this was something i suppose i deserve: it marks my 9th furfright.

i have many friends who use daemon tools and DTlite as their primary iso mounting and image burning program. i urge them all to stop immediately. and ESPECIALLY don't update to the newest release. daemontools installer now includes a multitude of toolbar, spyware, and adware installs, only 1 of the installs can be opted out of, the rest are forced.

i repeat, if you install the newest version of Daemon Tools, YOU WILL GET A VIRUS.

this is a disgusting betrayal on the part of the DT brand. they have opted to get paid by sponsors by loading their malware and toolbars instead of continuing the service they have offered users for years.

i removed it from my system with a system restore (back 2 checkpoints, first checkpoint was a fake, being created just after the adware was installed to fool users) as soon as i saw what it was trying to do to my browser, so i don't know all of the symptoms. forum posts suggest the worst of the packs installed is the "sweetpacks" toolbar and adware pack. it will behave like the old Alureon rootkits, changing your homepage, redirecting search results, etc. your browser may look like you got a new bing toolbar, and your homepage has changed to bing search.

i feel like i'm losing touch with all my friends, and my messenger lists are full of nothing but acquaintences.

my chats on messengers lately seem so distant. even when the other party tries to start up conversation, i find myself replying with brief, simple replies that, to some, might indicate a lack of interest. i dont want to do that, but i stay logged into messengers all day, so even if i am busy i can still sometimes reply. but the end result is that i dont chat with friends often anymore. some of them seemed to fall off the face of the earth after small arguments, or they just lost interest in me or probably thought i lost interest in them. i wish i could tell them this individually, but it's hard for me. some of them dont even use the same messengers anymore. i dont use facebook or twitter...
the result is most of my friends list is full of people i wish i could call my friends. but we barely ever talk.

i dont normally fanboy about things, but this looks like it's worth keeping an eye on.

the vibes i am getting from it is the bungie touch applied to a game with a story similar to phantasy star zero, with flavors of other more modern games, multiplayer co op that might be similar to borderlands, with an involved story that might be a prequel to Marathon by the time the player has figured everything out.

this time, no console exclusive parent companies. it looks like it will probably hit multiple platforms.

so it seems a popular artist or two has decided to abuse some misplaced blame and drama to try and drag hundreds of people over to weasyl.

i've had a weasyl account for a while now and im honestly not a huge fan of it. i dont much care for the UI, and it feels kind of elitest.

and lastly, i already use both FA and IB. i feel like juggling a third furry art site will be spreading myself too thin. i hope that my favorite artists stay on FA or IB so i don't miss out on their art.

now for the drama portion. here comes a couple of facts mingling with a bit of opinion and speculation.

ive looked into that drama and from what i can tell the FA admins did their job to eliminate the situation on FA. unfortunately the problem seems to extend beyond FA and into multiple websites/services, and the people involved should be taking greater steps to stop it instead of focusing on what the FA admins did or didn't do to stop the problem.

truth be told, there is one particular FA moderator/admin, who, i wont name names here, i despise, thoroughly and personally hate to the point where nothing he could ever do or say to me could make me forgive him and his actions. (the individual did these things before becoming an FA admin/mod) so don't think i'm some fanboy who thinks the FA mods/admins are gods. they are not. in fact, i can think of people who are much more worthy of the position than some of the FA mods.

i have seen scenarios where i have agreed with dragoneer, and situations where i thought he did not do the right thing. in this instance, i feel that the FA mods might have been slightly overzealous in deleting the journal without keeping a copy of it, and the journal threads. but doing so would be a thoughtful bonus, really, in addition to doing their job which was to cut the drama off at the source, which they did. kept a copy of the journal and its threads and did absolutely nothing wrong in removing it from public viewing as they sorted things out.

the focus of the conflict is turning FA mods into the enemy when the fact is, there's a sick twisted individual who needs help. the focus needs to be on that individual before he brings harm to the person he is stalking. that individual appears to barely even use FA, his account having little to no content on it whatsoever.

EDIT: the admins *DID* keep a copy of the journal and its comments. so, i think this further proves my point. anyone leaving FA over this should be ashamed of themselves.


addendum: so everything is clear here, the admins did ban the harassing individual as soon as they had proof that the user was doing such within FA. people expect some kind of instant response time on these things, which isnt nessecarilly fair. all of this occured within a couple of days time, and that's reasonably acceptable. these mods and admins are not paid. this is volunteer work. some of them have full time jobs. a day or two to sort everything out is perfectly acceptable in those circumstances.

sequence of events:: not finished, this is how i see it. it might not even be correct. keep this in mind.

1: conflict begins between two individuals online. person 1 stalking person 2 online.
2: person 2 gets fed up with it and posts an FA journal about it, though person 1 didnt seem to have done any harassing acts yet on FA. person 1 does comment some on the journal, arguments and drama begins.
3: admins see this and remove the journal from public view, holding onto it to inspect it and decide what action to take while trying to find out what happened, communicating some with person 2 to try and get proof. the public is led to believe the admins did not keep a copy of the journal, and simply deleted it. - i was misled here too.
4: some of person 2's popular friends post journals that are a little misguided and blown WAY out of proportion.
5: person 1 either finally does harass via FA, or evidence of harassment was found. person 1's account is suspended.
6: it's too late. a bunch of misinformed people have used this as an excuse to jump ship like there's some kind of magical STD called 'yiffillis' you get from being active on FA.

i got to this game a bit late. i couldn't afford it myself, so i got it for Christmas, and even then ended up waiting a week or two to start playing. but i just beat legendary solo. now i wanna do it with friends :D

yesterday i was at the mall hanging out with some friends. had a great time. with one notable exception. i used to LOVE hydro thunder. great game. the successor, H2Overdrive is at this arcade. however, i noticed one of the machines was out of order. from a distance it looked like someone had hit the screen, and perhaps cracked it through the protective plastic. - hard to tell since it shut down. i approached it and mentioned it to one of my friends, though of course i also got the attention of a teenager- probably between 17 and 19, sitting in the seat who was chatting with someone in the seat next to it. i commented on the fact that it sucked that it looked like someone had messed up the machine. the teenager turned to look at me, looked at the screen, then slowly back at me, with the most blatant tone of immense and false sincerity he goes "oh, SHIT." as if it was the most important thing to happen in world history.

in an instant i was back in school, dealing with the exact same treatment from an entire generation of peers with zero respect for anyone or anything around them. a flood of anger and hatred hit me like a ton of bricks. a moment of immense disrespect coupled with two decades of frustration and regret and hate. then i snapped out of it. i've got a decade on this kid, but he wasn't too young to take a boot up the ass for being a prick. i wanted to get right in his face and call him out on his false sincerity. i wanted to teach this little miserable little shit a lesson in respect. shit for all i know he was probably the kid who fucked up the machine. the entire time he was at the arcade i never saw him play a game. only using machines as furniture.

being who i am, reason kicked in immediately and made a few facts clear before i even replied. if i did this i would be banned from the arcade, maybe even the mall i was about to possibly land a job at. if he wasn't 18 yet i could be arrested for assaulting a minor, and it would have ruined the gathering of several friends, which, thankfully ended up being a great time. so i withdrew... like i always did all my life, adding this moment of hatred to a pile of bad memories i want to put behind me every day of my life, but are instantly pulled up to the surface by a new, similar occurrence.

i should have said something though. i regret not at least telling him to have a little goddamn respect. unlike many prior times in my life, if i had said something, he probably would have backed off because i could have beaten the everliving shit out of him if he tried anything.

so.. does this make me the bitter new generation, directly hating the younger crowd for being different, or am i just bitter because the generation really isn't any different at all, which is thoroughly disappointing?

i don't normally post about these things. but, whatever. i probably wont make a habit of it.
