I've returned (hopefully)
Posted 14 years agoSo sorry for not being around folks. I've been busy the past couple of months with making plushies for Anime Boston. Didn't do so well with that, but I did successfully raffle off a huge Yoshi (I'll post pictures later). I've also been taking an online class for copy editing and proofreading. Plus, 3 days ago while I was working by myself at my tiny ice cream shop job, I was robbed at gunpoint. So lotta stress built up in my system. Thankfully my mate Everoth has been helping me deal by finally getting me into My Little Pony. Yeah, I take to long to get into these things -.-"
On the plus side, I've got some yiff stories to write, one of which I've been trying to complete since I started getting too busy to write. My best friend from college is gonna move into an apartment with me so I can finally leave my parents' place XD Everoth and I are now engaged ^w^ We'll have a civil ceremony once his K-1 visa is approved, then a fancy party with family when I've saved up enough money from the tip jar at work.
So yeah, good and bad things all around. But hopefully I'm back for a good long time. Plus awesome manga/OVA Nana to Kaoru is giving me lots of ideas P=

X-Box Issues
Posted 15 years agoNo, I don't mean the red ring of death. I thought this was an isolated incident at first, but now I think otherwise. My problem? I can't read the text. When I played Dead Space, it didn't matter how close I was to the tv, the text was tiny and slightly broken. I couldn't even angle the screen. Then when I played the demo for Dante's Inferno, I had the same problem. Does Microsoft think this system will only be played on huge plasma screens? I mean, I'm playing this on a decent sized television. Like 17" by 23" screen. Anyone else experience shit like this? I'm just wondering.
By the by, sorry for not writing so much. I've got an artist alley table at Anime Boston next weekend and I've been busy sewing plushies. Probably the last time I'll do it though. I don't like how it's eating up my time. I just might make something every so often and post them on etsy.

Nightmares from the Waking World
Posted 16 years agoI live with my dad, but I go to my mom's house everyday, mostly cause she has internet. It's only a mile long walk and I don't mind it. Last night, I left around 2:30 in the morning, which is not the latest I've ever left. But about halfway home, I crossed the path of about half a dozen guys. They seemed my age, maybe older, and about half a block away from me. But it was very clear they were drunk, stumbling about and talking loudly. I hurried to cross the street and continue on my way, thankfully in a different direction than they. But of course they saw me. On shouted loudly, angrily, "Hey you in the dress!" I was wearing an ankle length coat but I knew he meant me. I'd like to say I flipped them off, shouted back, told them to fuck off. I'd like to say they gave chase, that I managed to beat them, disable them, call the cops on their asses. I'd like to say that and make a grand adventure and experience out of it. But that's not what happened. I ignored them, pretended like I didn't hear. My legs shook and I was afraid they would give out from under me. My heart has never pounded so hard nor beat so fast, I don't think it's possible for a human's to beat faster than that and live. Once I was out of sight, I didn't hear them yelling anymore.
I calmed by the time I got home, played some brightly colored video games, then went to bed. Sadly, my experience translated into a nightmare. It was like playing a horror game, except when I tried to leave, the monsters tried to keep me in, trying to prevent me.
Sorry, I needed an outlet for this, and I don't want to worry my family. They have enough on their plates as it is.

Kansai Lai. I wanted to think up a new name for myself and after some work, I thought of Lai. Then when I became a fur, I realized I needed a second name. I'd recently come back from studying abroad in Japan and had lived in the Kansai area. So Kansai is more of a title, or it can be seen as a last name when read eastern style.
2. What fandom were you obsessed with when you joined and what are you into
I can't recall what I was heavily into, but I've mellowed out now and I'm not seriously into anything currently. Except for Legend of Zelda. I'll always be into that >w<

Horrors of teh internet!
Posted 16 years agoOkay, as furs we mostly know one another through the internet. While there are those of us are a little ... loose in the mental facilities, I know for a fact that a great number of us are awesome individuals. I've only met a handful here and on a few other sites that have creeped me out or generally upset me. On the internet, we are all free to be as we are inside. We have no pressure to act a certain way, only what makes US comfortable.
Rewind back a few months: I met an amazing fur who just makes my heart overflow (you have him to thank for inspiring me with all the yiff I do ^w^ ). He's invited me to spend a week or two at his place, which happens to be in the next timezone, $500 dollars in plane tickets away. Because he's so far, he's made me inform my parents so they won't worry about me. Well, I told my mom. I just kinda dropped the topic that I was gonna have a vacation all to myself. When she asked where and I responded, it was really apparent that she didn't like the idea. But I'm 21 and she really can't stop me.
But what really pissed me off was the fact that she said "You don't know him. You only know as much as he tells you." What the ever-loving flying fuck, man?! I don't think she even really understood who stupid that sounds. Using that logic, no one really know anything about anyone else, in real life or online! There are things I don't know about my siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, parents, best friends because we don't tell each other every microscopic detail. So in real life, it's apparently fine, but add in the fact that it's being done online, and my sense of judgment gets pulled into question.
I'm not jumping into this. I did not make this decision lightly. I was wary of him like I am of anyone I meet online. I'm not stupid, and I'm not naive, despite what my parents seem to enjoy telling me. I'm acting as a responsible adult, taking a well thought about risk for the sake of fucking living.
So what the hell is with the demonizing of the internet anyway? Why is it everyone online is a pedophile/rapist/murderer whereas my 17 year old sister can make friends with a 20 year old and have a crush on him and my mom totally approves of that? Meet a person for the first time in real life: OK. Meet that same person for the first time online: YOUS GONNA GET RAPED AND KILLED!!! OH NOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted 16 years agoSorry for not doing much writing lately. College life has been distracting me. Today was the last day of classes and it's now that my adviser informs me that I can't graduate as a creative writing major. I'm a junior. Come August, I'll be a senior. And NOW she tells me this?! My college doesn't have a lot of creative writing classes, I've only been able to take 1 because for one reason or another, I haven't been able to take other. Like, I needed to take another course just to graduate, or the class was full. NOW I'm informed I should have been more aggressive in getting in, I could have told the professor it's for my major. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I COULD DO THAT!!! So now, because of my adviser's fuck-up, I can't graduate on time. The only alternative is to switch to a literature major. I'm not gonna do it.
I did not pick this college and decide to come here to be a literature major. I've wanted to do writing since I was in elementary school. It is not up for negotiation. I've tried to see if there were other things I could do to pass on time and I've gotten no help. So, I'm transferring out. But this isn't the only reason I'm leaving. My school was beautiful with rich traditions and so much fun. Now the administration just keeps making one bad decision after another. I won't go into detail and bore you, but quite frankly, I've had enough. I spent most of today and last night crying because of all the stress this threw upon me, and I never cry.
Thankfully, my parents are being supportive. Although it took me a while to have them realize just how bad it is for me right now, how much they failed me. It's my job to pick courses to further my requirements. It's their job to make sure my decisions are correct and inform me of what I need. Oh, did I mention I've had 3 advisers since I got here? I got 'lost in the shuffle' as my adviser put it. *sigh* So my parents helped me decide on a new school to go to. It'll be in my hometown so it's close and I can work nearby to make extra cash.

Doubt
Posted 16 years agoI'm a writer (big surprise there). Ever since I was young, I wanted to write books. But as I got older and reality set in, I began to question my abilities. I don't think I can make it as a writer. Meanwhile I fell in love with Japan. I learned the culture, I'm learning the language (but I'm not very good, I'm afraid). But even that passion faded. When the two passions that you have suddenly are gone...it feels like you have nothing left. I hope none of you have to go through that, or if you are, that you find a way out soon. Well, over last week I thought about a specific field to go into. I thought about porn stores. Nice, brightly lit, women friendly, empowering kind of sex shops. And on Saturday, I attended a Passion Party. It's like a tupperware party, but with dildos, lubes, lotions & potions, etc. Then it hit me; I could do that. I talked to the woman who hosted the party, looked at the company's website, basically I would be a sex toy salesman. I could have fun with it too. I'd be bright, cheerful, energetic, I could decide my own hours, work it full or part time. Well I posted the idea to my mom in an e-mail so she could check it all out. Later I called her when she had time to mull over it, asking what she thought.
She said no. Three times. In succession. I had expected her support, having fun with my female relatives, bonding! (I don't bond with my family, I'm kinda the black sheep) She then informed me that I'm really naive of the world (she and my dad agree over that), all college juniors and seniors feel doubt and my sister went through the same (but nobody fucking teaches that), the porn industry is really seedy, sex toys is just something you giggle over with your girlfriends, but that there's nothing wrong with liking porn or getting off on it. I think she completely missed the point of this company since there's really nothing seedy about it.
But because of the way I was brought up, my mind just froze. I couldn't argue with her and I had to hold back tears the entire time. I never cry. But hearing your own mom doubt your abilities to get by in the world, snatching away the only thing that's keeping you from losing your mind and sense of self-worth...that's heart breaking. She apologized since she felt like she crushed me (I was hiding that fact, keeping a smiling, happy voice), and appreciated that we could now talk about this kind of stuff, but when we hung up, I had to crawl into a corner and bawl. It just feels like there is little to nothing left for me.
No I'm not going to kill myself. Nor am I going to cut myself or harm myself in any way. I just write out little pieces of shit to let out my hurt. If I let a piece of myself die on paper, then the rest of me will live. No worse than a reptile shedding its skin...

Posted 16 years agoYou'd never figure I'm a total plushophile by all the brutal vore I write would you? No, I'm not that kind of plushophile, I just like hugging soft furry things and must own every teddy bear I come across.
Well I can't always do that sadly. So I've picked up needle and thread and begun making some of my own. I enjoy doing it a lot, ever since I got to do it to pass my sewing class in high school. Now at present I'm sewing a plushie of my fursona self as a scrap teddy. Once she's done, I want to keep making more and even sell them. Currently I have no photos and nothing to show. I'm working out all the routes not to use with my current bear. Better I suffer that with one for myself than a commission, right? Anyway, I just wanna know if anyone would be interested in purchasing some once I have an inventory, samples, proper advertising, etc. Tell me what you think, give me some ideas (like a plushie eating another plushie for all you vore whores), give me what you can.

Posted 16 years agoMy laptop got infected. Vundo got in without me clicking on anything. So now I'm using everything short of selling my soul trying to get it fixed. The worst part is everything might get lost. Every story, photograph, picture, video, what have you will be gone. So if you don't hear from me in a while, that's why.
