I was supposed to work on commissions today but instead I spent most of it in bed with a horrible migraine and right now my entire arms are shaking all jittery like. It's a low white blood cell week, so of course I'm feeling crappy.

I'll try to get some stuff pushed forward tonight, but otherwise I'll be working on them a bit tomorrow and over the next few days.

So I'll be currently closed for commissions for the next week, at least. Maybe two, if it takes me longer to finish the current list, or if something else comes up.


I'll be doing a serious rethink and rearrangement of commissions and prices. I know, I know, I just did that but the focus will be more on traditional art, and digital art will be focused on smaller things like badges and chibis. Reason for this is, that I just don't have that much computer time, it's pretty damn simple for me to open up someone's ref on my phone and go on from there, and I'm just overall mad at digital art and can't work with it too well at the moment.


What does this mean? A serious overhaul of what kinds of commissions are offered and pricing for all of them, as well as a better means of advertising when I'm open for commissions.

All the commission work I do goes towards the ferrets - all of it. Whatever doesn't get used for their food goes toward their vet savings account. Currently it's just there, which is okay, but if I could scrounge up more that's always a bit of leeway that I might need in the future. None of my work money can go towards the ferrets because it all goes towards my student loans, and sometimes I have to borrow ferret-money to help with the loan payment.

All fun, right? I'm looking for a new job, since the current one is being horribly out of whack with hours, and hopefully if that goes well I won't have to worry as much about the money situation.

This is getting horribly rambly (but if you've been with me long enough you know that's just how I do things) so to cut it all short:
I don't have enough hours in the day to take commissions for cheap, unless it's an emergency. So, except for sketches, prices are going to be adjusted according to how much time it takes me to make them.
I can tell you right now that Buried Alive badges will have a slight price bump to $20, but the others I will do some serious thinking about and new prices will be posted at a later date.

I will also be offering bundle packs, for people who want to order more than one thing. Prices for some standard packs will be posted, but I will also price out custom-order bundles as well.

Okay, new plans in commissions! I do a lot of stuff over at Teenycom, and I'll be posting there shortly once I get my examples all set up. Anyways, I'm going to have to buck down on the idea of commissions and really get into them. There is a semi-real chance that I'll be able to earn enough money through commissions to afford a health insurance premium, which is extremely important.

Because of this thin, thiiin sliver of hope, I'll be starting a new process for commissions. Rather than run myself ragged trying to get them done omg-asap-now, I'll be taking on commission to finish over the course of a month. Today this journal starts the process for the month of June.

June Commissions
Accepting commissions from Now until June 22nd. Any orders received after June 22nd get pushed into the July Queue.

How this Works:
I will complete the commissions over the course of the month and get them delivered or shipped out to you, the commissioner, before the final two days of the month. I might occasionally push the line to the last day, but I make a promise to finish the commissions before the month ends.

Once I start receiving commissions, I'll put up a master list for who ordered and statuses for the month up in a journal that I will update periodically.

I'll be extremely grateful for any commission orders I receive.

After I'm done with my current icon and outfit commissions (and there's one or two people who had been waiting for an opportunity that I still need to draw for) I won't be taking any Dino Skin commissions for a while.

I'll probably take other commissions, but only in small batches. Dino Skins will be put on Hiatus until I figure out what I want to do - continue or not.

There will be more personal art being done and posted, because I need it. You know how that goes? It's like, screw food, I need to DRAW. That sort of thing.

Currently, I'm finishing the commissions I have and trying to figure out what the hell to do with myself.

It's like, what the hell, why should I?

You know, when it just doesn't make sense to do anything, at all, no matter what?

I just wanna kick something, or someone, or something like that.

I can't focus at the moment as I'm bit pissed. Or maybe more than a bit. Or something.

I have a friend who is sort of more like an acquaintance at this point because I talk to her so rarely. We were all buddy-buddy with each other and another two girls and then they got pissed at me after HS because I apparently never made time for them. I'm not going to rant about that, because that's just stupid, and whatever.

Anyways, the past two years have been long months without contact and then a phone conversation in which said friend would tell me she missed me so much OMG we have to hang out sometime. Only to have no contact again for a long while.

Whatever, right, like I'm not an overly social person anyway. I'm not even a regularly social person, and I already decided, in a RAEG, not to have friends again, EVER, because they suck. So it's sort of whatever, except that each time we talked, it's me initiating because I honestly give a crap about her and want to know how she's doing, only to have her, once again, say she wants to meet up and whatever, both her and this other girl we were friends with (who told me off bad like during the post-HS thing), and that we should all get together. Only for silence.

Now, this past christmas, Friend got me a tarot deck, which is pretty rocking. The tarot deck is all with ferrets, and it's black and white so you can color it however you want.
But, thing is, I didn't know she was getting me a present, as we hadn't exchanged presents in forever, and also, she ninja'd it to my house. Seriously, she and the other girl got in the car, drove to my house, left the deck in a bag in front of my door, and drove off. They didn't even ring the doorbell. I had gotten a text from her a few days earlier that I should be expecting a present, but I had no idea what was going on.

I love this deck, but I don't don't know what to do with it. I've got a dragon deck that, incidentally, this same friend had gotten for me a while back, but it was during friendlier and 'happier' times. This ferret deck, as awesome as it is, just feels wrong at the moment. I don't want to look at it, and even though I wish I could like it, I feel like I'd be infusing it with all this negative energy, which is not something I want to do. So it's sitting on a shelf, in it's bag, untouched for the past 8 months. I have no idea what to do with it. I think about it, and it pisses me off. It's to the point where I don't even want to deal with this girl anymore, even though I worry about her because I know she has problems and stuff.

I just don't really know what to do. I got a text from her a couple of weeks back on a friday, during work, that asked me to come out to see her at some pagan fest she, friend #2, and her mom were selling art stuff at, on that saturday. When I'd already been written in to work that saturday. It got me pissed off, admittedly much more than it should, but I don't know. I'm tired of it.

I don't know what I'm writing this here for, but probably just to get it out. It's bothering me a lot lately, and I just don't want to deal with it anymore. I always get the feeling, when I talk with her, like she's trying to tell me how much this other friend does to help her, as if I'm at fault for not helping her (whether she means it that way or not, it's the feeling I get), and I sit there keeping myself from screaming at her because what the hell, I can only help is she's willing to actually let me help, and talk to me. And she doesn't. And I've tried for years to keep in touch and I'm just so freaking tired of it. Can't keep my old friends, can't feel right making new friends, I just don't know what to do anymore.

I think I'm going to get rid of the pouch the ferret tarot deck came in, as I think this girl got it herself, and go through a purification process with them to sort of neutralize both my feelings and any lingering energy that might be on them. Maybe I'll do a joint session with both the ferret deck and the dragon deck, to get them used to each other. Sounds so weird, but I wouldn't want the energies from the first deck to get muddled because of the sudden addition.

If you've read this far, and have any tips about purifying/cleansing tarot decks, let me know. I'd really appreciate any help with that. I've gotten rusty with my tarot stuff.

I work part-time in a bakery/cafe now. If you're in Chicago (lol like anyone is) give me a shout and come on down to visit me. Yay.

My dog is not doing well. This dog right here, Maja. She can't get up and walk on her own. A few weeks ago she got some pieces of steak from the table (rage) and she had a very bad night. Foamy vomit and gagging and it went on all night. Went to the vet, not much she could do. We got her settled with an anti-nausea med and she's on other meds, but it's not easy. She's snappy (maybe even from one of her meds) and she can only eat canned food now, no dry kibble. She's not going to get better, at best she'll do as good as she's doing, at worst she'll get worse and not get better again.

My fish are dropping like flies. I can't figure out why - no sickness I can see, the water perimeters are all within norms and they're getting fed the same as always. The only ones that are keeping fine are the kuhlis and the pleco.

There's more, but I'm not going to go on about stuff. Life's life, you know? I'm just worried about Maja. She's 14, I guess that's long for a dog? She's the grumpy little lady.
