Art and FC 2019
General | Posted 7 years agoHi Guys, it's been a while. xD
2 years since my last journal! Gonna post some art soon that I never got around to posting.
Life has been going well and I have been active with conventions and such, but not with the journals >w>
You can expect to see me at FC 2019!
I have a room with my bf and a couple of good friends in the Marriott, and will experience much elevator-con. I'm excited to see friends for the most part and I'm ready to go to some parties too :p

BLFC 2016 Meme
General | Posted 9 years agoWell, since everyone else is doing one of these, I'm gonna do one too :3
Days staying:
Thursday-Monday
Staying at:
Main Hotel!
How are you traveling?
Having a roadtrip from Santa Barbara with some friends :3
Who are you rooming with?
My dingus boyfriend Spalding <3
Xyo bunny and Mike Folf will also be in our room :3
Who will you be with?
I’ll probably be in the art show during the day, so come find me there. I’m practically your captive audience! Otherwise, I’m going to be following Spalding around, for the most part. I feel most comfortable around him :3
Where will you be?
Art show! Bachelor’s Auction! Dance! Maybe a random room party! Idk, just all over the place really.
How is the best way to find you?
ZingyFolf for telegram and twitter. Best ways to reach me
What do you look like?
Uh… Asian fuccboi in plaid… ok not really, but I will very likely be in plaid.
What is your gender?
Pronouns: He/Him/His
I’m working on my support for nonbinary genders. I don’t quite have it down yet, but open minded and I hope to have it figured out soon :3
How old are you?
20. My birthday is literally a week and a half after BLFC. #PushItBack
Are you mated/in a relationship?
yis :3 My Absolute Lettuce of a boyfriend
Espada-2
How tall are you?
About 5’10”
Can I talk to you?
No……………………….. ………..okay but I’m better at talking to people I know better :p
Can I hug and/or snuggle you?
Hugs: Of course! I love hugs. Hugs <3
Snuggles: Uh, if we’re close friends, then yeah. Otherwise, I tend to say no. If you’re snuggling with Spalding, I might come snuggle him from the other side. We’ll make him a sandwich :D
Are you nice?
I like to think I’m nice .w. I’ll let you be the judge of that ;D
Are you cliquey?
I’m a little cliquey. I tend to hang out most with people I know, but due to my shyness towards strangers. Don’t be afraid to come talk to me though! (Unless you’re creeping. Or weird. Or both)
Are you fursuiting?
I could, there’s some talk going around…
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Don’t tickle me :v I’ll probably get upset, especially if I’m tired or something. Approach me casually, offer a hug, and some kind words, and I’m all ears! Otherwise, you can just shout my name or something or kidnap me (no ticklz). Please do not kidnap me during work.
*do NOT contact me with unsolicited offers
Do you take commissions?
I take commission for artists in the Art Show! I don’t draw much, myself.
Dealers den?
…Art show
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Oh yeah, I should actually bring one this time :3
Can we hang out?
If I’m not busy at art show, I can take some time to talk. Otherwise, it’s all a matter of where I am and how long I’ll be there for. :3 Lots of plans already made!
Where will you be eating?
All my meals have been pretty much planned! Hotel buffet, Ijji’s, and somewhere the other group of ours is going .w.
Can I come to dinner with you?
Only if I know you, tbh.
Can I ask ya to dance with me during the dances?
I will only dance with friends. I am very ashamed of my dancing skills xD
Can I buy you drinks?
CAN YOU?! Yes. Appreciated much, and I can buy you back something nonalcoholic in return :p
Do you attend parties?
If I’m invited/dragged along to one
Can I take your picture?
Why would you want my picture -3-
May I kidnap you to my room?
Only if you also kidnap Spalding :v I’M TALKING TO YOU, PHYSICS.
Real talk: For parties, again, I’m most comfortable around people I know, so if I don’t know a lot of people at the party or if no one’s really talking to/around me, I’ll get pretty bored pretty fast. I also am not a fan of crowded, big parties.
Attending any events?
Fursuit Bachelor’s for sure. Some dances. Not really interested that much in panels or anything. Might stop by the game room once in a while. :3
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
First and foremost: To have a good time. That’s the most important thing, no?
Other things: I want to talk more with Dream Machine Costumes, see if I can get in touch more with them (I’ve been doing a bad job of that over Twitter lol). Hoping something good comes out of it. Like plans for suits :p
I really am looking forward to seeing friends again. Some old, some new, all fun. I love you guys like family <3

FC Recap
General | Posted 10 years agoHey all, just here with my personal reflections on FC and moving on from there.
Wow, this con got SUPER hectic on me. Large time constraints and lots of stress factors going into it, but I managed to pull it off... mostly. I had a really great time at the con, but there was a lot of shit that happened that really brought me down during the con.
Outside of con: Internships, car issues, classes, long lonely drives, poor sleep
During con: Fun parties and getting messed up on all sorts of substances, great time with friends both old and new, got to spend more time with my boyfriend <333
BUT: Work was pretty rough on my stress. Art show was really busy at times and I ended up on shifts that I didn't end up enjoying. Friday's afternoon shift was fine, but Sat and Sun night shifts were awful.
So some bad, some good, but good times during con. I'm just looking forward to next year's. That's all!

BLFC PCD
General | Posted 10 years agoAlright, BLFC was really good, despite the hotel stuff, which I'll explain in this journal if you haven't heard already. I really loved meeting all the people I'd missed after having gone back to school and getting to know a bunch of people I didn't know as well! *hugs* for everyone and lots of love out there :3 And be assured, I'll be seeing you all again at FC and BLFC again! No more cons for the rest of the year for me :p
Con was pretty crazy fun. I did a lot of stuff that I didn't think I would actually do and I came out of my shell a lot more for this con. Went to room parties and saw some pretty crazy stuff *cough* BD dildo collections *cough* I was kind of a dingus and forgot my wallet at home during the con, so that was silly, but it didn't turn out to be too much of an issue, luckily. I didn't buy anything from the dealer's den or art show or anything, but I did have some stuff to pick up from there :3
Hotel stuff: Waaaay early, I booked a room at GSR (con hotel) and paid the down payment and stuff. When I booked it, it wasn't certain when people in our room would be getting there, so I only booked for Friday and Saturday. But 3 out of the 4 people in our room ended up being there from Thursday to Monday, so we all had to find spaces around for Thursday night and Sunday night because GSR didn't let us extend the nights we wanted to stay. On Friday when I went to get the room, I didn't have my wallet so I had to ask them about it, they were like "no prob, we just need you to get someone to pay for the room since you already put in the down payment." so I had to wait for Nokkur to get there to help with that. After I brought him, they were like "No, you have to be 21 in order to pay for the room."
...I'm not even 21. Why did they not make me verify this when I was booking my room? Money-grubbing assholes lol. They shouldn't allow you to book a room if you're not 21, then.
So luckily we had people who were over 21 in our room (I feel sorry for anyone who didn't) so I brought Tarocco, but Nokkur ended up paying for the room anyways (dumb hotel) and then finally we were able to get our room. Freakin' roller coaster of events.
Besides that, everything was great. I'm definitely thinking of volunteering for the next one, too. Much <3 to everyone who was there and I got to meet and all the staff! For now I'll just pop my bubblewrap and sulk in my PCD. Thanks for the awesome times everyone! See you next year~

New Years, 2013!
General | Posted 13 years agoIt's a new year, guys. This year's gonna be a new doorway. I find out where I'm going to college, then I actually have to go to college. :P But it's also a new year of opportunities, of things to come and of things to prepare for.
So I wish all of you a happy New Year and a good luck on all those resolutions, all those promises you made to yourself that I don't know whether or not are going to happen. :P Happy New Year, and keep safe everyone! Don't drive drunk. That's no good. Unless you're not driving. Then still don't.

General | Posted 13 years agoSchooling. It's supposed to help with life and get you a good job. However, school fails to teach important like skills such as socializing, simple home engineering, tax paying, cooking and cleaning, etc. What good is knowing Calculus and Biology if you don't even know how to do these? School need to do better. :I
Surviving China: Days 19-21 FINISHED.
General | Posted 13 years agoDay 19
Yeah, I slept until pretty late and then went out for lunch with a big group of family members at this one fancy restaurant. Then I hung out at an arcade with one of my cousins and went to this lake afterward to boat around on it. It was pretty nice, except that the water was really gross. And that I nearly fell into it. Whatever.
Day 20
I did nothing but sleep, eat, and play Phoenix Wright. I got to this part where I needed to do fingerprint scanning with the DS mic, but was sad when I realized that the computer I was playing on didn't have a mic. Started a game of TWEWY just because.
Day 21
I am so fucking glad to be home again. I don't have to deal with that idiotic “Great Firewall of China” and I don't have to go to a hole-in-the-ground stall whenever I want to take a dump. Well, that's not relevant, but here's some news: I basically time travelled today. Got on the plane at 5:30pm at Beijing, flew a really long flight and got off the plane today at 2:00pm. Weird, huh? I was actually expecting at least 7:00pm. Oh well, whatever works.
I kinda miss my cousins and friends who I hung out with, but that's okay. I've figured out how to communicate with them, and now I'm back home and can communicate with you fuzzies!

Surviving China: Days 12-18
General | Posted 13 years agoDay 12
I think I ate raw meat at the barbecue. I definitely had stomach aches the whole morning. I slept most of the day away and went to one of my uncle’s house for lunch with family. Later that day, I hung out with my animefag cousin and he invited me to go to this museum thingie of China’s history.
Day 13
Went out for pool, then made a cake. It was such a funny cake that I laugh just thinking about it. It was a cake of this picture: http://chinchikurin.deviantart.com/.....ntama-94978731 and it was awesomely hilarious. We added blood to his face (da hyoo-mahn’s) and it was pink blood because the red frosting wasn’t red enough. We went swimming in an overpriced hotel pool (it was a tiny pool, too!) and I bought a pair of swim trunks that were more expensive than admission into the pool. Delivered the cake later that night and had the biggest dinner I’ve ever had: steamed, fried, and boiled Chinese pancake, a bowl of soup, a bowl of noodles, 3 plates of ribs, some vegetables, and rice (that’s just what was on my plate) with some friends. I went home really satisfied.
Day 14
I went to the museum and got 2000 Chinese dollars (about $330 American) from an aunt. We went out for lunch and I drank a bottle of beer because my cousin bought it for me.
I hung out with my friend from Australia and this other old friend of mine who’s going to New Zealand. I realized that I’ve been playing a lot of pool on this return visit to China. Other than that, we went to this fantastic fried chicken place and had dinner there. We sat around at a Dico’s for a while and I mooched off of their wifi. We went back to pool later that night. They were amazed by my 3DS because it’s so new and stuff.
Day 15-16 (I’m serious)
Slept a lot of the day away. When I woke up, a cousin I hadn’t seen in a while came along and we talked and had dinner with family. Again. At the dinner, I had beer. Again. I’m drinking a lot lately. Oh, and that morning, my dad brought some Merlot and Riesling. I had some of that, too. *hides face*
Day 17
My friend went back to Australia, but I went out with one of my better cousins that afternoon. We went to the arcade and banged each other’s brains out in Tekken, then went to, surprise, pool. Okay, I’ve had enough of pool. Really. Dinner was awesome because it was all meat, then I went home and caused a lot of drama because one of my grandparents insisted on guiding me back home. Sigh.
Day 18
Found out that I can run a NDS emulator on this computer. I downloaded Phoenix Wright and am half way through it. I saw more relatives, then slept a little more. I’m proud of how much I’ve been sleeping on this trip.

Surviving China: Day 11
General | Posted 13 years agoDay 11
This day is worth a whole entry.
I get picked up by my friend for the BBQ pretty early and we go to a meeting place under a bridge in the city. There’s not a lot of people there at first, but an hour passes and it was packed. He did not lie when he said that there were going to be about 30 people there. A head count later told us that there were 32 of us for the cook-out. We get to this nice little place by the river by renting ourselves a bus… and it rains. Most of us take shelter under this little pagoda thing and the rest of us find this huge, stone mushroom and squeeze under it. After having wasted enough time, a few of us, including me, go looking for a potential place to set up for the BBQ. There’s this little shack pretty close to where we are, but we don’t know if it’s owned by the tiny convenience store right next to it. They say that we can’t use it but for 100 Chinese yuan (that’s cheap. Divide it by 6 and that’s the American dollar equivalent), he’d offer us full services for the BBQ, including shelter from the rain, fire and grills to cook meat on, and even drinks when we want it.
We start up the BBQ and start cooking. Chicken hamburger patties first, then chicken and lamb kebabs, then steaks, eggplant, potatoes, mushrooms, sausages (which I was surprised no one used them for cock jokes, given how “friendly” they are with each other), blah blah blah. It’s notable how physical contact we’d (Americans) consider intimate are normal over here in China. They’re hugging, nuzzling, and placing their hands on weird places and it’s all natural. Even the bathroom isn’t that funny. It’s a little dreary to talk about them, in fact (holes, not toilets, and they’re especially stinky and dirty). They play this practical joke in China where they lift someone in the air and spread their legs, bring them to a tree, and *bam* ouch. I got to see it first hand and it was AWESOME.
When we finish up here, we decide we all want to go do something else, so we go over to this nifty little entertainment building equipped with small stores, a movie theatre, arcade, and tons of other cool stuff. There’s also a separate, but close, building that’s used by a TV/radio station and you can reserve a room and do karaoke and stuff with friends for however long you feel like. I hit the arcade first and we play mostly Tekken and stuff. The DDR’s different (diagonals instead of up, down, left, right), so I stay away from that. At Tekken, it’s not Marvel vs. Capcom, so I feel like it’s a little slow at first, but then I get into it and end up getting a huge winning streak against some of the guys we hung out with today. By the time we’re done with that (it’s one token per play ), I’m only down 4 tokens and they’re down 7 each. I guess I’m just that good. When we’re finished there, we head over to the karaoke place and the guys who were already there are drinking this sweet, really diluted beer that has, like, no alcohol in it (though you can kinda taste it) and I have some of that. They insist that they want to hear me sing American songs, so I sing “Yellow” by Coldplay because it was the first one suggested. Then I do “Rolling in the Deep” by Adelle, then “In the End” by Linkin Park, and by the end, I’m pretty popular. The girls are going crazy by the end of “Rolling in the Deep.”
We hit dinner at a really fancy restaurant and I cry because there was this rice dish we ordered with A LOT of jalapeños and habaneros. I’m not alone, though, on this. We have dead baby jokes and other crap in America. They have what is roughly translated into “cold jokes,” which are designed to make you feel cold after telling them. One of them: A cracker was walking down the street and got hungry. It ate itself. Not particularly funny in English, but it is sooooo funny in Chinese. In rapid succession, these are hilarious. We guys talk about videogames for a while and they bring up League of Legends and that makes me think of ‘DIS GUY ->
hellshadow65. They are jealous of me because of my access to all the new technology. I’m jealous of them because of their 3 (divided by 6 for American currency) yuan videogames (NEW, TOO. WTF. 50 CENTS FOR NEW GAMES).
After dinner, half of the group leaves and the rest of us want to go play pool, so we go to this billiards bar (oh my god, I’m in a bar) and we drink (oh my god, I’m drinking legally) and play pool (oh my god, I suck at pool). We get a ride on this scooter that somehow fit three of us and get a ride back home that night at 11:30. I wasn’t drunk, though, so I guess my limit is more than one can of Budweiser.
Awesome day.

Surviving China: Days 6-10
General | Posted 13 years agoDay 6
Nothing really interesting happened today. I went out for a walk and listened to this guy play his flute. I looked at the music because he didn’t mind and I really wanted to grab the flute out of his hands and be all like, http://fatkidatcamp.com/wp-content/.....I-got-this.jpg . Except with a flute.
Day 7
Another almost pointless day, but at night I reconnect with an old friend who now goes to college in southern Aussie. We have a nice talk and he invites me to hang out the next day.
Day 8
We play soccer in the morning after taking a taxi to this college in town, and as we stop to take a break, it starts raining. Hard. We find some shelter and talk shit about people and who they’re dating and stuff and it’s people I don’t know so I’m kinda just standing there awkwardly about it. We decide to eat lunch out together at a hot pot place, but we can’t find it and end up going for shit pizza instead . It’s still raining throughout our two hour lunchtime of us just eating and talking and when we go out, my friend asks if I want to go shopping at the Metro for BBQ stuff with them. I say hell yes and one and a half hour later I realize that it would have been smarter to just go home. The streets are built in a way so that when it rains, the water collects on the road. We crossed, maybe, 15 rivers (what we called them; they were maybe half a foot deep areas of water on the streets) on the way to the market and we got totally soaked. We spent the next couple hours just shopping for stuff and trying to dry off. It doesn’t stop raining for the rest of the day, though. I had lots of fun.
We’re tired on the taxi back home and he invites me to the 20-30 person BBQ on Saturday (Day 11) and I accept. It’s notable here to say that in his group of friends that we hang out with the whole day there are those who are going to America for college. Key thing to know here? They speak English.
Day 9
Nothing spectacular. I’m busy anticipating the BBQ because my mom also says it’s okay. No curfew, either.
Day 10
My mom takes me to this old hospital where she used to work. She meets her old co-workers and their boss (whose son speaks English considerably well) and we go out for a really, really delicious lunch. I spend the whole time talking to the boss’ son (he’s going to America for graduate school) in English and have a good time. I’m anticipating tomorrow a lot more now.

Surviving China: Days 1-5
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I decided to do a really informal journal on what’s going on here in China right now. It’s all just so strange and vivid that I can’t help but. It’s weird. Really weird, especially starting day 3. This is partly just to keep myself together and sane because everything just happens so fast.
A note to
Hellshadow65: I'm really glad I decided not to pack my sanity.
Day 1
Okay, I’m feeling pretty confident. I’ve got my 3DS and my iPod touch and some writing material. I’ve got on my dark flannels, black jeans and a pair of Vans. Dad sends Mom and me off at the airport and he goes off to work, so I’m alone with her. We don’t really do anything at the airport except sit around. I’m on the plane at 3pm and we take off. I got to sleep for a bit, but my 1 hour nap isn’t really going to put much of a dent in this 16 hour flight.. The plane food is actually kind of decent and the movies are interesting enough to distract me from writing a little.
Day 2
The day changed some time in the middle of the ocean. Time zones, yeah! I’m getting sick of just sitting here, so I’m going to go ahead and do a little walking around. Then there’s the turbulence and then I’m back to my seat. I take out my tunes and my writing stuff, so I’m prepared to sit there and do some writing. Mom’s bitching at me to read that book on whatever, but I don’t care. “Nothing really matters in a club/ Nothing really matters in a club/ Nothing really matters in a club/ Nothing really matters but the beat.” – “Nothing Really Matters” by David Guetta featuring will.i.am. I proceed to sit on my ass for the next 9 hours of the flight and just write.
I get off at Beijing and have a two hour layover, but that’s not enough time to go cruising around. So Mom and I just go check in again. The first thing I notice after getting off the plane is how sticky it is. I know there’s a 30% humidity, but whatever. I’m not exposing too much skin. Funny, though, the fact that it’s raining and there’s thunder and lightning. The plane is scheduled on a delay due to lightning storms. We get on the plane to Zheng Zhou at roughly 10pm and I sleep through the entire flight. I miss the complimentary Kool-Aid and get sad.
My cousins pick us up from the flight and bring us to my grandparents’ house. I’m on the car as the clock passes 12am.
Day 3
We get to my grandparents’ house at around 12:30 and I sleep until 7 when we get there. We eat breakfast and nothing really interesting happens. We get company from my uncles and they sound like they’re yelling a lot, but that’s because this is “the South,” if China could be compared to America in any way at all. The river by the house is still as dirty as ever and there’s definitely enough water to go around (I love sarcasm). It’s practically dry.
The Great Firewall of China. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3604949/
I spend most of the morning talking to relatives. After lunch, I proceed to sleep for five hours before waking up because my mom wanted me to go get a haircut. It was 16 Chinese dollars, which is roughly $2.50 American currency. Not bad. Too bad this haircut is a little shitty. There’s this little shopping mall thing there and Mom and I decide to go in. Nike was advertising LeBron James and I was disappoint. I ogled the iced drink stand because it was hot outside, but didn’t buy anything at the mall. It was really, really small, too.
Day 4
We’re planning on going to the famous Shaolin Temple today with my oldest cousin and his family. My nephew once removed comes with us and he calls me the “stinky uncle.” I’m saddened because I feel old. (My cousin is 37; like 20 years older than I am.) I ride shotgun in the car and it’s about an hour drive there. The speedometer says that we’re going 100 and I have to tell myself that measurements are in metric. It’s km/h, not mi/h. We nearly run over 23 people on the way there and nearly get into 14 accidents with other cars. I’m a little scared the whole way there, but there’s nothing I can do about that. Oh, and my cousin has used the horn at least 150 times. My nephew is trying to steal my glasses and is tugging at my hair and clothes.
At the temple, we walk around and sight see for a bit before stopping for a break. It’s freaking hot now because it hasn’t been raining. It’s an interesting place, though, and there’s a bunch of kids doing their kung fu shit, so we watch that for a bit, too. There’s a show on at 2pm, so we watch that and it’s amazing. At one point, they ask for volunteers from the crowd and one guy who goes up is clearly American. He ends up winning whatever prize they were going for because he was the best in demonstrating his skills in the game. It was actually an instructive humiliation of the contestants because they were trying to get these common people to do backflips ‘n shit. I laugh my ass off because it’s just so entertaining. I congratulate the American bro and he’s hella fucking amazed that I speak perfect English. When we get thirsty, we go for water and there’s this big container full of water and people just giving it away for free, so hell yes. Unfortunately, we had to complete a 6 page survey for drinking there, so oh, hell no.
We eat noodles for lunch and we get back in the car. Another hour drive home and more close calls and honks happen. I fall asleep on the way back. I fall asleep when we get home, too.
Day 5
Nothing planned for today, but I get an alternative charger for my 3DS; the voltage output in China is 220, but the 3DS charger is only 120. It would burn out my gameboy if I didn’t have the alternative charger. I spend a while playing video games and eating. (SO MUCH FOOD.) During my video game session, I hear glass and bricks shattering over and over again, so I look out the window and there’s people THROWING SHIT OUT OF A WINDOW FROM THE SECOND FLOOR. My grandma goes out to see what’s going on and they tell her that they’re cleaning up and sweeping the house. She yells at them for a good half hour and they stop. I love my grandma.
At night, my grandpa takes me out to the local market and I am absolutely amazed. They’re selling stuff from shoes to spit roast. There’re people everywhere. There’re puppies everywhere. There’re puppies making puppies, EVERYWHERE. They’re so cute (well, the puppies are) and it’s hard to resist just taking them all home. Anyways, it’s dirty there because of it and we don’t end up buying much, just a couple steamed buns and fried pancakes because they were the only things that were actually clean. I nearly get run over by bikes or cars over a hundred times while I’m there. The market is so large that it makes the farmer’s market back home look like the size of Chinatown to the whole of San Francisco.
Oh yeah, PUPPIES. EVERYWHERE. SAMOYEDS. LION DOG THINGIES. CHOU CHOUS. *squeals because they’re so cute, then collapses*
A note to
Hellshadow65: I'm really glad I decided not to pack my sanity. Day 1
Okay, I’m feeling pretty confident.

In other news, at least I can get to writing here. As long as I'm not busy partying with cousins 'n shit. :3
At least there's FA.
