General | Posted 15 years agoWhy do people do this publicly, where other potential buyers can see it? It just makes you look like an unprofessional dick.
I can understand not liking a person you're working with, or not liking the subject matter they've paid you to do, but if you really need to vent, that's what friends filters on LiveJournal are for.
The appropriate place to slam a commissioner and the piece you drew for them is NOT in the artist's comments for that piece when you upload it to FA.

Someone on the forums is convinced that I'm totally JEALOUS of their awesomeness, because they know a photographer and have had "modelling" shots taken of them.
By the way, they plan on selling these "modelling" photographs here on FA. THEIR PLAN IS FOOLPROOF. SRSLY. They see no flaws whatsoever in selling SOMEONE ELSE'S PHOTOGRAPHS on a site where at least half of the transactions involve porn or some sort.
By the way, she's totally uncomfortable with her body. Bonus LULZ.
But I'm just jealous and can't handle being around someone so superior, because I dared to point out that their lack of business model, no target demographic, and next to zero marketing skills (she pretty much insulted this site and all of its users at least twice. This site, where she intends to sell her photos) will probably result in failure.
Guys, I'm totally just a fat-arsed know-nothing who can't handle quality in other people. D:

1. I send you a high-res copy via email.
2. I send it to you via post (buyer pays postage and packing).
3. Pick it up at Califur next month.
If you chose options 2 or three, you have the choice between 3x5" or 4x6".
If you want a more custom badge, those are $10 (still cheap!). These badges use a template which means I can do a lot of them in a short period of time.
Icons are still going for $5.

And Another Thing... (a H2G2 post)
General | Posted 15 years agoSo, I decided to finally locate and give Eoin Colfer's And Another Thing... (the sixth book of the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy) a go.
It... feels like fanfiction. And not even particularly good fanfiction, really. It's not nearly cheeky enough in some areas, too cheeky in other areas, and doesn't capture Douglas Adams' voice at all.
I honestly think the only reason I'm able to get through it is because Simon Jones is reading it aloud to me, and he spent a considerable amount of time portraying Arthur Dent in radio and television serials, so he's quite intimately familiar with many of these characters.
Also, save a few tirades in later books, the series got on JUST FINE with excellent oral hygiene. All this "fat arse" and "holy shit" is just killing it.
