Posted 10 years agoI'm sure the site is being inundated with posts and journals like this, but I'm adding my voice to the masses.
FIX THE ADS! I get that it's set so only those with adult settings on their pages see it, but SERIOUSLY, have some standards! I don't know if IMVU is behind this, or FA staff directly, but they need to go.
FA banner ads have standards, even if they are for explicit content. Nothing is shown, and they have some freaking tact when talking about mature and adult content. These new banner ads are pathetic. Poorly made, obnoxious, spam and virus quality banners that make the site look awful.
Get your act together, get the ads removed, and please, for the love of God, don't subject us to this crap again. We all threw enough of a fit when the IMVU banners popped up, don't expect this to go away until the issue is fixed.

Yea, thats a thing. AND HERE IS ANOTHER THING! I'm back into writing, people! Yep, thanks to a friend, I am working on a unique piece of flash fiction every day (hopefully). The intent is to get me better at writing, and I intend to upload the finished, unrefined monstrosities here on FA to point at and make fun of.
Or dont, and maybe leave nice comments.

Taking T-Shirt Pre-orders

Gargoyale to make T-shirts for Califur this June in Irvine, C.A. So, for anyone going, this is you chance to pre-order, which means you have a choice of shirt color and ink (Black or white in the later case). We will be selling them at our hallway booth for $25 outside the dealers den, but if you pre-order it's only $20, and like i said, you get to choose how yours looks, and what size you want. Remember, this is also cheaper than Zazzle.

Nuka has been going through some stuff. Big, important stuff. Recently the lovable mutt has come out as transgender, but herein lies the problem. He's broke. I'm broke. actually, most of California is broke but that's besides the point. To pay for testosterone one must be able to pay, and so Nuka has worked up a patron deal with Legalize Trans*. 2013 review

1. Was 2013 a good year for you? Why?
I think overall yea, but a fair deal also sucked, so it's a net positive, but not by a ton. feels kinda neutral in the end
2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
It's hard to quantify a year in a moment. often my favorite thing about any given thing is a part that sums it up as a whole, and for anything longer than a month thats... well, damn hard.
That said, I'm torn between my college PRIDE Center's coming out monologues, heartwarming/wrenching event that it is, and twizzler-facing Apple in the hotel at Califur.
3. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Sooooooo much easier than the last question...
Having to walk away from Nuka's place of work when she got fired knowing full well that the bigot who fired her deserved no simpler a punishment than being kicked off a cliff with his arms and legs bound, and left to exposure at the bottom...
Still gets to me how I had to just walk away

I found out about this cool new thing proposed to help speed up transport called 'The Hyperloop'. While i could spend a while nerding out and explaining the physics of it and all that, her instead is a much more intelligent person with much nicer hair to explain it

To celebrate his launch of this album he's holding a raffle. 8 lucky winners will get all three of his albums, and the ninth will get a sweet custom theme, the lucky buggers.

High Res Machu Piccu (cool stuff inside!)
Posted 13 years agoI was poking around my YouTube subscribes when I noticed something really cool. I dont know how many of you guys already know this, but Destin from the channel Smarter Every Day and some of his friends/colleagues went out and captured the highest resolution picture of Machu Piccu ever. They compiled a total of 1920 pictures into one big 16 Gigapixel panoramic image. The picture is literally so high quality that you can see the stone work in full detail.
The making of the picture took over an hour so Destin had one of his friends rig him up with a head mounted camera and binural microphones to capture real sound. So to go along with the amazing panoramic picture is a super realistic tour through most of the city.
Go check this stuff out, and if you like it follow Destin on his YouTube channel smarter Every Day, where he reviews everything from how cats land to proper techniques for photographing muzzle flare on guns.

Shift (the musings of a broken fox)
Posted 13 years agoI should probably explain the title... I have once again, and admittedly not surprisingly, screwed up again. I got myself in the clear for a whole week before messing up, so I can be proud of that... but that's not the point. I'm in a pit, and rather then learn to climb, I'm still digging.
Now for the purpose of this little post...
I was having lunch and thinking, and this is odd because I've never mused on the finer working of life over a hot pocket... so I was musing over a hot pocket about the mistakes I've made in life, and came to a realization. If my life were a book or movie, I honestly can't see it ending will for me. I'm the tragic background character who everyone pities but isn't surprised when bad things continue to happen to him.
Now, I don't know if it was the radiation from the microwave or all the chemicals in what hot pockets calls 'cheese', but I decided, right then and there as my fingers slowly burned from molten flavor goo, that it was time for a plot twist. That part in the story where things shift and the hero, at their lowest point, makes a comeback. This is my chance for a come back, and damn it I'm going to take it.
I know this seems odd to post, but I think this is actually brilliant. I don't want to forget that analogy, and so I'm recording it here for all of you to see. And hey, maybe the rest of you can use this frame of mind to help better yourselves.

AND because it's an arts and framing store, I can use my employee discount to help you guys get stuff at reduced cost. Because I'm cool like that.
I can run framing packages for commissions and even help with art supplies, including Copics, Prismacolor, Acrylic and Watercolor, and notebooks.
If you guys show enough interest I'l see about actually setting up shop here on FA to supply all you amazing artists with a good deal on quality art stuff

I got in a car accident today, I wont pick around the issue.... and I dont want to be one of those people who comes out and asks for help with financial things... But I need help. Still i wont accept money I dont deserve... so I dont know if anyone will care about this, but I guess I could try writing short stories for small change. basically it's a pay what you want written commission. I know not many people care, but please send this around at least a little, i need to scrap togeather cash to help pay fines and repairs, and this is all i got.

For the past three years 39 of the worlds major countries have been negotiating a treaty called ACTA, which will be much MUCH worse. this treaty doesnt just block the internet though, it has the power to halt the production of life saving drugs and even certain crops, all in the name or patent rights.
This needs to stop. This bullshit has gone too far. three years under out noses? Hah, lets see how ACTA fairs in the light of day. It's time to raise your banners once more and march on the root of all evil. lets shut this treaty down.

So, I'm a fan of the Mythbusters. honestly, i just cant get enough explosions. But on the way to college this morning, I heard something interesting on the radio, and decided to look it up when I got home. sure enough, I find out this...
While testing a myth that a stone cannon ball could punch through the wall of a castle, Kary, Torry, and Grant had a little... mishap. they were calibrating their cannon at the now famous Alemeda Sheriff Bomb Range, and the cannon misfired, sending the 30 pound cannonball over the target, the safety slope, and quite a distance east to a nearby neighborhood the ball sailed over the houses before skipping off the porch of one house, busting through the door and flying upstairs, where it exited the master bedroom. it then cleared a six lane street, caromed off of a tile roof, and finally came to rest lodged in the dash of a parked SUV. Obviously, the team spent the rest of the day examining the damage and apologizing. Discovery said it would not air the footage they have, and the obviously angered families are now seeking reparations. Hopefully the show doesnt get shut down.

Posted 14 years agoWell, if your wondering about the title, last night I went to Chance's little meet up here in So-Cal, which he dubbed the 'Lake Murray Furry Anthro Outing' I thyink... I may have the A wrong there...
Anyways, it was his birthday, and while I may be broke and couldnt get him a gift, i did take a few pictures, the likes of which I will be posting shortly.
The meetup was a ton of fun, and a lot of familiar faces were there, as well as quite a few new ones. I still gotta go add them, not that I think about it.
One thing you wont see in the pictures though, is that after all that, all 21 of us at the meetup stormed the local Denny's and made the night shift... interesting.
I hope the cake was good Chance, and you didnt need to slam your face in it XD
